How we feel about Messi is how you talked and felt about MJ , and I say even more because Messi is the complete player scoring , passing , dribbling nobody has ever done what Messi did , he was never a specialist like Ronaldo a goalscorer or the likes of xavi a playmaker Messi scorers more than pure strikers and creates more assists than pure playmakers and that's just insane .

Messi is going to go down as a record breaking scorer who also has elite passing skills and plays the game in a team oriented way, same as how Lebron is set to break kareems scoring record while being a pass first guy. MJs main thing was scoring domination with the intimidation factor… that makes him more like Ronaldo than Messi. That’s how I see it at least

Messi is definitely the superior player though, ronaldo is like the perfect machine mentally, physically, technically etc. messi is just magic, a natural phenomenon not that he isn’t hard working and mentally unbelievable but his ability isn’t something that can be taught or replicated it’s just one of a kind

This video shows people who didn't watch him regularly that he's not a guy you can easily bully, despite his size. Many underestimate how strong his lower half is. Combined to his outstanding close control of the ball, game vision, low center of gravity and speed, he's extremely difficult to stop. More than anyone who ever played the game.
You just can't take on 4, 5, 6 (!) players at once without extraordinary skills but also considerable physical strength. At some point someone's gonna get pissed off and will try to grab you, pull you, trip you, do everything they can to stop you. That's part of the game, if they get caught, he'll get a free kick or a penalty, and the defender a yellow (most of them in this vid are) or a red if you go the Pepe or Sergio Ramos path. Yet he still got through many, many times.
What many miss is also how extremely efficient he is when it comes to go past an opponent. The ball is glued to his foot and his timing is perfect most of the time. He baits the defender, leading him to think that the ball is within his reach and then with either a body feint, a nutmeg, or a change of pace or direction on a dime, make him look like a fool.
I've never seen any player who does that so consistently and his dribbling style is based on that. No fancy tricks, no flashy moves, just a heat seeking missile searching for the fastest way to the goal or the pass.
"Pepe and Sergio Ramos path" Funny you only mentioned those two. I bet that in your Barcelona butthurt world they are the only agressive CBs that have played the game.

Another thing to think about with Messi's passes is that in football, great passes usually delete the midfield and/or the defense of the opponents. He does that with such ease. Great midfielders excel at this but Messi isn't even a midfielder, to combine his passing range with his deadly finishing and dribbling is what puts him ahead of Ronaldo in the goat talk for me.
you guys haven't heard about the advantage rule yet when you see clips of guys holding on to guys and letting the play go on. if you see some of those clips where messi is being held you can see the ref holding both arms out pointing towards goal. what this means is he is not calling the foul but acknowledging it is a foul, however the player/team that is being fouled would have a good chance at scoring or creating a chance if he lets the play go on. so basically the ref can ignore fouls if it helps the team that is being fouled.
