the reason they dont get the ball is the fact that he has a plan no matter what you try. Its not simplistic as hes going left and right. He has the ball so close to his feet due to his unreal control that he can change direction as if the ball was part of his foot. The man has unreal quick thinking. He identifies the little space that youre not covering way quickly and becauseof the control and balance due to his core strenght he is able to get there

And along with being the best dribbler ever, he scored the most goals and got the most assists in the 2010s decade out of every player in Europe. Hands down the most complete player of all time and the GOAT

& what he’s the best at is changing his direction, body feints, & accelerating with the ball at his feet. He doesn’t really need skills when at the end what he does majority of the time leads to assists & goals.

Why would any moron that posses Messi's abilities even attempt a step-over? That's the most inefficient skill you can do if you have the skillset Messi has.

  • @benjaminbronnimann3966

The reasons why no one can get the ball is messi's close ball control, he never let's the ball go far from his foot plus his reaction time is insanely quick due to the high amount of touches he gets on the ball every second. Add to that extremely effective body feints, acceleration, peripheral awareness, intelligence and superb decision making, the quickest changes of direction and greatest balance I've ever seen on a pitch, his low center of gravity, Messi excels at every single skill that is needed to be a good dribbler, that's why he's the best dribbler (and player) of all time. He keeps his game as simple and effective as possible but to pull it off at his level you have to be one of the best in the world at every skill I mentioned above and that's basically impossible.

I'm argentinian too, we're proud as shit to have players like Messi and Maradona, both of them are literally the best players of all time, there;s people of course who will name some other players, but there's no chance there's someone better than those too... for me it's Messi.
And yeah, he got a yellow card for taking his shirt off, you can't do that.
Plus, you can watch "The Goal of the CENTURY" by Maradona against England in the world cup, THAT'S the most amazing goal, then everyone will have an opinion.
If you're looking for another argentinian player to react, (as you both say) he's my favourite player, but I KNOW that Messi is the greatest ever, his name is Juan Roman Riquelme, a legend from Boca Junios (greates club in Argentina) Maradona also played in Boca.
Riquelme destroyed Real Madrid in the club world cup in 2000

There are personal favourites but when we talk about a football player being the best we gotta consider these four things primarily.
    1)Dribbling
    2)Pass
    3)Creating chances
    4)Assist
    5)Goals
    6)Longevity
As good as Ronaldinho was, he was inconsistent and couldn't last long. Same goes with the Ronaldo9. Pele literally scored plathera of goals when there was no offside rule, meaning he could just wait at the box behind every defenders, receive the ball and score no problem. Neymar is very similar to Ronaldinho but he's always injured. Ronaldo is one of the GOATS enough said. But Messi, he is the GOAT. Everything you ask, he has it. To nitpick, he doesn't have much skillset but there are enough street footballers and futsal players with skills, are they the GOAT? No. You gotta dribble well, don't dive in every chance you get, should see your teammates in the most difficult situation and make the accurate pass, score and create chances. Messi has them all. To enjoy other players you gotta watch the highlights. You watch Messi live and the whole match is the highlight. To do all aforementioned aspects of the game well is great but to those things for seventeen years in a row staying at the top is something esle. Like I said people can have their different favourites but there's only one GOAT and we all know who that is.
Kobe Bryant : I wear the number 10 for US team, in honour of the greatest athlete I've ever seen, Messi.
This should sum up the debate.

6:45 lol that's exactly what he wants 😂 he makes you think you can get the ball he's literally waiting for you to attack, just to change directions on you so quick that your body can't keep up, cause as a defender you're the most vulnerable when you try to tackle. That's why most defenders just try to keep him away from the goal cause they know as soon as they go for the ball he leaves them in the dust, his reaction time and change of speed are too quick.

Your bro seems to understand a bit more than you about the game ;) but you're right about one thing: he's efficient and supremely so. His game doesn't rely on fancy flicks or tricks like say Ronaldinho (who I absolutely love) but body feints, nutmegs and change of pace and/or direction. Most of the defenders simply can't get near him and he makes them look like kids.
What he does master more than any other great player in history (trust me on this one) is close control of the ball. When he dribbles, the ball is so close to his foot that you just can't take it away from him without either fouling him or selling yourself short by you sticking your leg out (which is exactly what he waits for). His footballing IQ and vision are also miles above the rest and he thinks 2-3 steps ahead of his opponents. Also don't underestimate his body strength: he's incredibly tough and his center of gravity is very low.
All of this makes him a nightmare to defend against and the opponent never relies on individual man marking but more on a team effort with 2-3 players around him. The greatest defenders acknowledged as being the toughest player they have or had to face. The best way to keep him out of a game is to prevent him from getting the ball.

Hi bro,you can imagine messi's greatness by the fact that he has faced crazy and world's toughest defense of real madrid(ramos, varane, casemiro, marcello, pepe, xabi alfonso etc many many, are killers),messi have faced them all for more than 15 years and due to messi, barcelona has won more matches against real madrid face to face from 2005-2021(messi play duration),even cristiano ronaldo finds very difficult to face this crazy defense when portugal(cristiano) have faced spain in national games, probably only 2 times(i m not sure) cristiano has faced this spain's crazy defence and he has scored 0 or 1 goal except penalty and free kicks,(ronaldo had scored 3 goals against spain in worldcup 2018,in 3 goals, one was penalty goal and one was free kick goal),if cristiano was in place of messi in barcelona and if he had to face crazy defense of real madrid as rival,he couldnot be able to score so much and easily for sure, ronaldo is fortunate enough that he was in real madrid
Defense of real madrid is considered as a toughest defense to face for opponents, and it is a nightmare for any strikers/goal scorer to face defense of real madrid

The reason some defenders don’t get the ball is bc they used to, but he’s so fast, physically, but also mentally that if you tackle to get the ball you’re already to late and now you’re on the ground and he’s running away... it’s like a chess player who’s already 3 steps ahead!
stay on your feet and you have somewhat of a better chance to defend!
It’s not like they never kick or hold him, plenty of videos of defenders hanging on his shirt or kicking him, but usually that’s still not enough!
(Google ujfalusi vs messi and check that picture of messi’s ankle in a full 90degree bend)
Also ronaldo has more power and thus a better longrange powershot, messi has more technique. Also messi is statistically more efficiënt than any other player... conversion rate etc during his entire career.

Ronaldinho's problem was his partying. It caused problems in his career, but during Ronaldinho's 2 yr run as Fifa world player of the year, No One in the history of the game is better imo.
Messi is raw talent to, hone and trained to perfection. His ball control is insane. He is the best player ever just based on Records and Silverware.
    C. Ronaldo is an amazing player to, but he isn't pure talent like Messi, his is talented based on insane work ethic and training.
Either way, I was alive to watch all 3 of them play!! I'm blessed! 🙏

at the speed he's going himself its almost impossible just without the ball its astonishing, but just imagine, he's accelerating like that ahead of everyone else with the ball.. its almost impossible, he's known to set the pace if you see his best runs, but the killer tricky thing is that he does it keeping the ball so close to his feet, making the attacking play, always keeping it a close distance, many people think that even if you tried like your life depended on it and dedicated your whole life, many many wont come close to Messi's ability, that's why he's one of one, and especially not close to defending him too that's why if you search theirs a compilation of him getting pulled or slide tackled, dirty plays cuz that's really the only way to stop him 😂😂 its crazy too considering his size he always able to go against bigger opponents, takes a lot of strength. If you're still on the edge about it you should watch this edit, it goes hard and is cool and best show cases that relentless energy and skills, th-cam.com/video/CXB1XpZPD_g/w-d-xo.html if you react to it on your channel or not you should still watch it, I recommend you react to it.

and he does have skills, like the way he moves the ball and feints, its really hard, but I do agree that those fancy cool skills like Neymar, Ronaldinho, and young Cristiano Ronaldo, are immensely underrated and should be respected in their own way, I'd say in my footballing journey I was also a lil oblivious like you I really didn't see how impossible it was to do what Messi does till I tried it and same with those cool skills, just as hard especially in what speed they do them, aqnd "in game" but they really go unnoticed unless you're able to score a lot of goals and be consistent but ig that's what sports really was always about, like in the NBA with Kobe, Lebron James, and Steph Curry

Guy on the left cracking me up, saying it’s not skill 😂. Do u know how hard it is to dribble at that speed keeping the ball so close to u constantly being aware of everything around you???
Ronaldo freestyles but what’s more effective??
He played like that against the very best teams not just the weaker teams, it’s not as simple as just saying there’s the ball, get it! He was a magician quite literally.
Messi is the best player ever, it’s that simple!

  • @tfelst1147

Bro you have to understand, if you run at Messi and try to 'take the ball' as you think you could, he's gonna nutmeg you, hit it past you, or just straight up violate you. If you take him out without touching the ball you get a red card.
That's why people have to 'jockey' him, the only hope is to predict what he's gonna do with the ball, but the man is to agile and technical brilliant, you commit to going one direction and he's already gone the other and probably scored.
This defenders are high level pros in such a popular game for a reason bro, it ain't that easy 😂.

Heya guys! You both are very funny lol. Until now you were reacting to the best goals and skills from Messi, but what about the most brutal fouls against Messi? You can search the video "Lionel Messi never dives".
Making a comparison with basketball, we could say Messi is like Lebron and Maradona is like Jordan. 2 different eras, 2 beasts.

When you make a skill is because you want to go left or right (or behind or everywhere) and you want to take advantage of a defender that doesn't know where you want to go and make him lose the balance in next steps (or create spaces for passes or teammates or whatever). The thing about him is that even if you know where he wants to go you can't get the ball, because he is so quick that when the ball is almost touching you he'll touch it and go with the ball. But what makes him the best of all time is the genius. N°12 For example. If you consider position and situation you should think that he will cross the ball to the middle or pass the ball back or a power shot near post to the keeper. Something normal...then he chipped the goalie from that angle in that situation with no error. What a goal. And another one that make you understand his greatness is N°23. All Real Madrid is well positioned on the field. You will think that he will go back to play with his teammates. And then you see him that wants to score so much that he doesn't care and challenges alone all real madrid team like if they were kids. Never seen a player do something like that to a normal team. He made it in semifinal in the Champions League and against Real Madrid one of the best team ever.

You should try to watch the video stopping the video and think what he's gonna do next ... and you should consider that he's on the pitch and not watching it from tv. You should think about how much vision of the game he has....

Normal players use skills to beat the defender.
    .
Messi is so good he doesnt need skills cause he reads his opponents movements and body language in lightning speed.

  • @icicestparismaxwell3794

14:24 he's right, messi doesn't need skills to pass from a defender, it's all about simple moves really, faints, changes od directions, speed and he's gone. skills sometimes fail, not everyone doing a skill guaranteed to dribble all the time.
