Individually he's the best ever. The completest attacking player. He doesn't need to score to have the biggest influence on the game.
The Worldcup is very difficult to win. It's a 7-game tournament and takes place only every 4 years. No player wins anything on his own in football, the team needs to be at his best, to the right time.

I've been watching Football (Soccer) since 2002. Even before Messi or Ronaldo made their debut. I've seen both of their career unfold. Can vouch that Messi is an anomaly. He's a player we have never seen and I highly doubt that we will ever see a player of that caliber. He is just a magician, a gift from GOD, an alien. His all-round play is unbelievable. Football passes are some of the hardest thing to do even for a pro player. And Messi does these with no effort.

messi is the top assistant in the history of football and he also scored more than 700 goals (he is still playing)
to compare it to the nba, it is as if stockton, in addition to his assists, had scored around 30 points per game each year, adding the dozens of titles that messi won

Remember that Messi is a winger, so usually a winger role is to run fast, play wide and center the ball, but Messi plays as a winger, a striker, and a midfielder all at the same time, it's like he's 3 players in 1, i don't think i need to tell you that football has never seen a player like that before, not even Maradona or Pelé had achieved that level of variety on their playstyle, it's just insane that a player like Messi exists to begin with

Okay a little bit football context for you:
There are two type of trophies, club level and international level.
There are several leagues in every country and every club plays in a league and someone wins the league title every year.
The biggest thing you can win in club football is champions league, messi won it 4 times.
International football you play it with your home country, there are several competitions. Messi won copa america with Argentina recently meaning they are the reigning champions of south america.
The biggest thing you can win in international football is world cup and it happens every 4 year. Messi played in a final but never won a world cup.
It's weird because winning all of these can't make you the greatest there are several footballers who won all of these but are not in the goat debate, because its a team support, you need to shine individually.
But also someone in the goat debate is expected to win it all. Messi won everything in football except a world cup. The ronaldo thing is for the chit chat, the real debate is can messi be the goat if he cant win the world cup or not.
The debate for ronaldo is can he be the goat when messi is around

A good reaction video for Messi would be ‘Messi versus physics’ to really appreciate Messi’s genius and overall GOAT status as he is the most complete player is regards to vision, IQ, playmaking, dribbling etc 🐐

every team in every professional football league gets a new kit every year, they get at least 3 kits, one for HOME and AWAY games AND ALTERNATIVE, in case the other team has the same color jersey. messi has played for FC Barcelona for most of his career, he now unfortunately plays for psg. and these passes are very common in almost every game, but thats the beauty of the sport, it happens when you least expect it, they dont score every time, but those passes def happen. making those kind of plays is harder than you think. He has a record 7 golden balls (MVP) and a record 6 golden boots (given to the player with most goals scored in a season), also won the 2nd most career trophies in history. He is a true anomaly, most fans and experts agree that he is the GOAT.

Messi makes mistakes but it's rare and his so good that even is mistakes are difficult to notice, and Messi is a more complete player and one of the best play makers. You can easily replace a striker like Ronaldo with another goal scorer and still perform adequately but u replace a player like Messi it's hard to find replacement, look at how Barcelona have been relegated to the eurpa league something that has never happened before but as soon as Messi left the team can't function

Ronaldo is OLDER than messi 2-3 years. even though they are mid to late 30s now they are both still better than anyone. and when fans and pundits argue about the best player of all time it comes down to three guys, Messi, Pele and Maradona. Cristiano is never included in that discussion.

So, there are multiple cups to win for footballers. They play for both clubs and National teams (if they get selected), where they play for their country. Leagues in Europe are the best by far, so the best clubs in Europe attract the biggest talent. Messi played for FC Barcelona in Spain and is now at PSG in Paris, France. He comes from Argentina and therefore plays with the Argentina National team in international tournaments.
The World Cup is a FIFA tournament that happens every 4 years. A tournament which has been played since 1930. It was much smaller tournament then and has since grown considerably to include more spots for countries to compete. Since it's only 7 games if you go all the way to the final, and it only happens every 4 years, it is a *very* hard tournament to win. Especially now since many more teams compete. It also highly depends on having a good team - Messi and Ronaldo can be the best in the world yet they still depend on the defence not letting in too many goals. A small mistake from a central defender or your keeper and the whole team goes home.
Other than the World Cup, there are other international tournaments depending on what continents you come from. Argentina play under CONMEBOL in South America and their international competition is called Copa America. Messi has gone to 3 finals and won 1 one of them. He has also played in a World Cup final where they went to extra time and Germany managed to score in the last minutes of the match. That's how thin these margins can be.
Clubs play in various other club tournaments, Champions League is the biggest international tournament for clubs, then domestic leagues, cups etc. It's a lot.

Both of them have won everything with their clubs, basically Barcelona and Real Madrid. And great players will always play in a good club, in a rich club that wants to gather an ensemble of good players around their superstars. But in the world cup it's national teams that compete, and whether a country has enough good players to accompany the superstar is random, money can't buy that. Messi plays for Argentina and Ronaldo for Portugal, both teams are not as strong as say France or Spain. But both players have won the UCL multiple times, which is the biggest club title where the best clubs of Europe compete against each other and every great player plays in Europe right now, much like every great basketball player plays in the NBA. Imagine Hakeem Olajuwon play for the Nigerian national team throughout his life. Would he be a failure if he never won the fiba world cup with them, even though he has two NBA rings? Anyway they have a last shot in a couple of months.

@@definitelynotexperts it's very simple. I'll put it in Basketball terms. CLUB FOOTBALL is like playing for LA Lakers , Boston Celtics , Miami Heat. Messi played for FC Barcelona (17 years) now he Plays for Paris St. Germain, Neymar also is at PSG,
INTER-NATIONAL FOOTBALL is like USA Basketball team Playing in the Olympics against Other Countries.
WORLD CUP & *Continental* Championships are INTER-NATIONAL tournament where players play for their NATION , Messi for *Argentina* , Neymar for *Brasil* , Cristiano Ronaldo for *Portugal* etc. It is very difficult to win a WORLD CUP if you're not from a Strong Footballing Legacy nation or Don't have atleast a Good team around you as it is Every 4 Years and is Knockout Style tournament.
You will see players mostly playing CLUB FOOTBALL , Because the leagues and tournaments run for 9-10 months of th year. During *_International breaks_* ,time alloted for Inter-national football , You wil see them play for their Respective Nations to Qualify for the coming World Cup , Continental Championships or Friendlies (warm-up kinda games).

@@definitelynotexperts Haha. Happy to help new learners. As you can see in NBA teams Players from USA and Sometimes from other nations also Play in Same team right, Ex: Luka Doncic, Giannis etc. are europeans. Just like that in CLUB FOOTBALL , Players from Various countries will be in Same Team. No restrictions at all. Barcelona agreed to Sell Lionel Messi to PSG , So they Bought him from Barcelona and Signed a 2 year Contract with Messi. So it's a transaction between Clubs and Players , their nationality doesn't matter here. Any player from any country can play for PSG, ex: Messi (Argentinian) , Neymar (Brazilian) , Mbappe (French) are all team mates.
But when their Country is in WORLD CUP , they all become OPPONENTS because they Play for their respective COUNTRY's.
Always remember Club football and Inter-National Football are 2 seperate things. If you see Messi in WHITE & SKY BLUE STRIPES uniform it means He's Playing for ARGENTINA (Their main Uniform). They also have Alternate Uniforms, all Countries & Clubs have 3 uniforms atleast , HOME , AWAY & ALTERNATIVE.

I know it's not your fault but you're lacking way too much experience and are way, way out of your depth to react on this kind of vids. It's almost insulting to see that guy on the right commenting on some passes like he'd do that in his sleep or has seen better.

FOR THE LAST TIME GUYS, OBVIOUSLY I WATCHED ALL YOUR MESSI REACTIONS. BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CHOSE A GOOD VIDEO OF MESSI TO REACT TO THAT INCLUDES HIS BEGINNIGS TIL' HIS LAST WEEK'S FIRST TIME IN HIS CAREER AMAZING BICYCLE KICK (CHILENA IN SPANISH). GETTING BETTER ON THE KNOWLEDGE AND REACTION STILE. MAYBE A BIT MORE WEED AND LESS BOOZE WOULD HELP.... LOL ANYWAY GUYS GOOD LOOKS FOR THE CHANEL. JUST TRY TO DO MORE MESSI AND SEARCH FOR A COMPLETE ONE, HE IS CURRENTLY PLAYING AND STILL DOING AMAZING STUFF. CHEERS. And FYI GOAT means only one, like the GOAT. Meaning THE greatest of all times, so it can't be logically more than one if you use name GOAT. You guys need to watch a couple of live matches of Messi waiting for some action, you will be surprised for sure.

Messi only played for 2 teams (mostly one, the second team it's only been one year) and then for his national team, but each team have 2 or 3 kits, that they change every year, so that's why (and especially Barcelona, his old club, likes to have neon-color alternate jerseys, and always have 3 kits every year)

      @dovah2167 ปีที่แล้ว +1

btw these kits are called home, away and third kits, but they mostly change their kits from their home kit because the other team's kit look alike
also in most leagues and divisions, there's no play offs (and if you want to know more about that there's a video called "Understanding European Soccer in Four Simple Steps" by the chanel "pen and paper" who explains how it works

international games are tough, one man can hardly compensate for the team and carry them, between the fact that the player with who you have to play with, literally restrict the tactic possibilities, the fact that you have maybe about 15 friendly international mid season games (and international competitions, continental competition and world cup, are held every 2 year) so it's kind of the "wild west" in term of teamplay and team cohesion, and for wolrd cup for exemple, you may have 3 (where yoy're at least a substitute) at best in your career
and also, Ronaldo is from Portugal, and Messi from Argentina, and both aren't really powerhouses

6:10 in away-games, the guest has to carry different outfits than normal, if the normal outfit could in anyway be confused with the outfit of the home-team... So, each team has 2-3 alternative outfits...
11:34 It´s like a free-throw in basketball. Instead of scoring his 300th goal, he gave an assist to his mate, this has never happened before. For him, it was all the same, he has over 800 goals by now (just 25 less than Ronaldo), and several hundred assists (unlike Ronaldo)
The Ballon d´Or (golden ball)is for the best player worldwide in that year. Messi has it 8 times, Ronaldo 5, Messi should have gotten it like 0 times, but it´d get boring...
Messi always played in mediocre or bad national teams, and in the best case, his team-mates simply didn´t care. Last time, in Nov. 2022, the team was young and overly talented, but most importantly, they looked up to aging Messi, and wanted to fight, not just for themselves, but for him too. And he was their team-captain, so, they incarnated his own vision during the last world chmpionship, and so, won it. Ronaldo on the other side is dependent on a perfect assist, and not the whole team can rely on him anyway, cause he´s a goal-scorer, a striker, and not an all-around player. Ronaldo has no vidion, not passing and no dribbling or playmaking, and aside to all that, he´s dirty: He´ll fall and claim a foul, despite the defender being 3 meters afar. Since cameras clear important foul-situations, he hasn´t won asingle penalty shot yet (like a free-throw in basketball, look at 11:34), still people call him "Penaldo", cause he bult his career upon successfull penalty-shots, many of which were pretty shady. Messi on the other side, would never yield and fall when fouled, he´d always stand up and keep running, he hated scoring through penalty-kicks. He loved scoring after beating the whole defense, something unthinkable for Ronaldo, cause he cannot dribble...

Football goes very deep. There are so many plays and so many players in the history of this game. But Among all of them there are Messi, Maradona, Cristiano Ronaldo, Pele, Johan Cruyff, Ronaldo Nazario, Ronaldinho, Gerrard Muller, Eric Cantona, Kaka. Go look at their career history and watch their videos. Best of luck.
