    SO interesting, absolutely loved this. Would love another video about being a couple and living in community - has it changed your relationship? has it created challenges? Do you live with other couples/people in relationships? Super interesting and enlightening!

    I think living in community is good as long as it's with people you trust completely. I lOved living with my friends it was awesome through almost all my 20s. The only thing when i was a kid my parents kind of let just anyone in our home to live for a while or visit and some of those people weren't good people and i went through some tough times because of that. Not saying you guys would let people you don't trust in your home and my situation was different of course. I think it's really cool how kind and open you guys are and the people you live with seem so genuine and cool.

    It seems having your own bathroom would have a positive impact. Would you feel the same if you had to share a bathroom with others? I'm sure you would still live in community but would it temper you're enthusiasm a bit?

    • @RayaWasHere
      @RayaWasHere  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      We actually shared a bathroom with a few other people in the last house and still loved living in community! Obviously it’s nicer to have our own (especially since the last bathroom was shared with 3 other guys 🙃) but either way the compromise is well worth it!

    That was a great video (I rarely watch the whole video for 30 min), thank you. I have a few more questions, haha. Are you the only couple in this house? How do you schedule your day/week in order to have enough time for yourself (workwise and freetime), enough play time with Louis and time for everybody else? Thank you and come back to Slovenia soon!

    So interesting! It kind of reminded me of hostel living, whenever I stayed in hostels it felt like everyone came together, it was so easy to make friends. Of course not nearly as private! You mentioned being vegan was one of the conditions for finding roommates. Were there any other requirements that potential roommates had to have? Also are you guys the only couple?

    I find this so so fascinating. Although I work in wildlife conservation and that often means being thrust into living situations with lots of people, I never considered it being an option long-term! It was also interesting to see how you can have alone time but also always have people there to hang out with.

    Is there a specific reason for not wanting animal products on property? I mean I understand wanting to be vegan as a personal choice but having it as a strict criteria seems odd. Genuinely curious.
    The whole living situation looks a lot more enticing than I thought it would be. You guys all seem to fit pretty well with each other while still having your independence. Definitely something I’d consider in the future. Thanks for making this!

    • @idak1669
      @idak1669 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes I was wondering this as well. I have a very rare condition that means that I cannot eat or digest most plant-based foods. (For those who are curious, I can only eat super processed things like white flour or sugar. Absolutely no fruits, vegetables, nuts, or seeds. And yes, I have a whole team of dieticians. Don't worry.) If I were to come visit you all, I could only eat something like plain white bread with some agave or something. Does this ban on animal products extend past food? Are guests allowed to enter the house if they are wearing leather shoes? Is this like a food safety thing? No spoiled chicken in the fridge? Is this like a morality agreement with the house? I'm also genuinely curious why this rule is in place?

    This was so great! I USED to live communally and I feel I made the decision to go back to living with a partner and watching this I realise this is so healthy and to live with other vegans well so fantastic. Do you know of different demographics like 40/50+ in UK? I have lost my way somewhat 😢 much love and brightest blessings. I’m obviously 2 years after this vlog and baby Neo is here 🎉yay 🙌👏🏻💐🌱💚XOXO🇬🇧

    I’m the exact opposite. But I really really enjoyed this video and your unique perspective of it all. I am an introvert and prefer my space. How ever I do think it’s important to have a great support system of close friends and family. I think my ideal situation would be would be to live in a neighborhood within walking distance of my friend but have my own house to create space for me and my family when needed. I have 4 kids, I like the idea of raising kids in a community
    Also my jaw dropped when you said how much you and Lui are paying for your one room. That’s nearly the same amount me and my fiancé pay in total in bills for our 4 bedroom 2 bathroom house on 2 acres of land with a huge garage/ workshop that we OWN! 🤯

  • @leibun
    @leibun 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    How do you manage the “community fund”? Do you use splitwise? That would be the only way I could picture managing it, unless there was 1 person who’s responsible for buying all the community stuff and everyone pays them a set amount each month ... either way it seems complicated lol.

    • @tiphbrowne2073
      @tiphbrowne2073 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      To be fair, they may be splitting the price of the room cause couple. Factoring in the shared expenses, its about the price of the small rooms per person. Not a bad deal tbh. In NYC that would get a room in a 3/4 br without any of the other cool stuff.
