I want to thank you for taking time to talk about relationships and for being open about yours because your relationship is one that should be an example for many. I think it is very important that you tell the world how you work on some issues and how much you have talked about certain potential or real problems. Because you are what people describe as “couple goals”. That’s why I appreciate that you tell the world that good relationships don’t appear out of the blue. It’s not magic! It’s not “the one”. Great relationships are created through lots of work and compromise. I think many young people don’t know that and they give up their relationships at the first obstacle. That’s why I’m happy that you let those people know that even if you have a great basis, that is not enough for a long-lasting relationship. It requires constant work! Just because you have great soil, you won’t be able to grow a beautiful flower from it, unless you work on it each and every day. Raya, I think even though this seems like a light, fun little video to watch, you educate people without them noticing it. I think these videos are more important than you think. Thank you for making them! You are a person deserving to be a role model for many!

I was a naive little girl, thinking that some people are just a perfect match and that's it. I was lucky enough to have lots of conversations with someone wiser than me about relationships and that person opened my eyes and now I'm 26 and in a great relationship but I don't think that with my old naive approach I could be in a long-lasting relationship. So for many people you can be that wise person who open their eyes about the true nature of becoming "couple goals" :) Looking forward to your long distance and other relationship videos!
This is especially true because people look at youtubers and think they have no problems just because we don't see their problems. TH-camrs idealize their life and we buy into it and for many young people they think that what they see is reality. I'm sure Raya and Louis disagree and fight from time to time but we don't see it and we shouldn't because that's obviously private. It's just it gives people this fake feeling that it's "easy" when it's not.
Loved it! Looking forward to the Long Distance themed video. I (Canadian) met my BF (Spaniard) while on my sabbatical year backpacking trip so we go through a lot of the same things. I am still travelling a year later (and now working on the road) while he lives and works in his home town in Spain.

We have so many similar ways of looking at the world and relationships! And uck - I totally know how the long distance feels. My boyfriends a seasonal park ranger and I'm a seasonal wildlife biologist and travel blogger/agent AND work here and there on cruise ships. We do a LOT of long distance and it never gets any easier. He's been on the opposite side of the country now for 4 months but I'll get to see him next month for a week, and that's one of the longest we'll have done long distance. Thinking about also creating a LDR video or blog post with my tips, etc. Wishing you both strength and comfort while he's away!

I just wanted to say, I loved the part of this video where you talked about the pressure of finding "the one", as it's something I stress myself out with a lot. Also, in regards to the long distance thing, I did four months apart from my boyfriend earlier this year, and just know that it is very hard, but it's honestly the most amazing experience in the long run as it strengthens your relationship in ways you can't imagine. My husband and I are both Acts of Service with Receiving Gifts and Words of Affirmation being very low. We've been together 9.5 years, married only 1.5 years and absolutely no hurry to have kids. We only had a wedding due to a certain level of guilt of being only children. But it was enjoyable and I got to wear a gorgeous dress :)
I just watched this today, and when you talked about marriage and children, so true why do you want to rush. I married my husband after we where 5.5 years together. We decided after that to go travelling so we did from 2007 until 2010. We moved to New Zealand as we are Dutch. Lived there until 2018 and left again for another world travel. We are together for 18.5 years and are so happy together so he is the one for me. No babies for us as we are happy together.
Don't take this wrong (no shade!) but the one thing that you two have in common the most is how much you say the word YEAH. If someone had a drinking game where every time you said YEAH they would probably be extremely drunk lol. It's so cute that you both talk similar. My husband and I both say the word REALLY all the time.

YES!! Finally someone says something about why does everyone expect marriage and kids so fast!! I don't understand why everyone is like HURRY HURRY HURRY! I moved in with my boyfriend nearly 3 months ago and my family just keeps asking "Why don't you just get married?" It's the most annoying question i ever get asked! We love the way our relationship is developing and marriage might be in our future.. Just not for at least 4 more years. We want to travel, we currently trying to buy our own house and still getting to know each other. I agree with Louis, you really do get to know your significant other even after years of knowing each other/being together. 5 years of knowing my bf and i still am learning new things about him everyday!
Once you have kids the only way you can travel full time is in a boat or an RV/bus. Wait until you're ready to spend more time in 1 place before you take that step. It will change your life!
