Be responsible if you get one. They can be scary if you aren’t familiar with RWD and power. And they can be an eye magnet, from eyes you want to eyes you don’t want
I think, barring the GT500s or KRs or whatever with the more angled grill and special body kit, the 05-09 is the ugliest post-Fox Mustang. 10-12 front with 13-14 rear is the pinnacle to me.
My favorite will always be S197 for the looks and performance you get in V8 car. I haven’t really warm up to the S550’s yet. I love the fox bodies and new edge Mustangs as well. It’s just something special about the S197 that does it for me. Plus the S197 is very reliable.
Bought an '09 Bullitt 4 years, no issues at all. Daily driver. And I do push the engine every now and then (especially when I pull up next to a Challenger or Charger at a light). 🙂
I'd be right there with you but the SN95s and New Edges easily have the worst interiors of any Mustang generation. Unless its a Terminator, I couldn't see myself owning one for long.

I may be a bit biased but the styling of the 13-14 s197 IMO is the best looking Mustang ever. Something about the body lines on that car is just gorgeous
I think the s197 generation was the best because it saved the muscle car. Dodge and Chevy saw what Ford did with the retro design and brought back the challenger and camaro which wound up restarting the horsepower wars
If it's a 5.0, do yourself a favor and put some premium in next chance you get, it's a 12:1 motor and it picks up like 50 ft-lbs and 20 horses on premium versus regular.
It’s a mustang in name but not really a mustang. I’m sure everyone knows since it’s been repeated, but Ford wants to make Mustang it’s own mini-internal brand. Same with Bronco, which is why there are technically 3 different bronco’s and a bronco with a truck bed is in development as well. Almost sort of like RAM is it’s own mini brand within fiat/Chrysler
New Edge GTs are my favorite for a number of reasons. They're everywhere and affordable (slowly becoming the "new foxbody"), the 4.6 2V is indestructible, IMO the best sounding (you can make these things sound like anything, old school chop-chop to crispy coyote-esque sound), they're sleek and stylish, and if you slap a Cobra blower on it you'll gain some serious power. Then again, I may be biased as a Crown Vic owner.
I've owned a 2003 gt convertible, 2012 gt, and currently have a 2018 gt, and the '18 is by far my favorite of the three, although I have a soft spot for the '03 as it was my first one.
I am biased towards the New Edge being the most bang for your buck mustang. I personally own a 2003 Cobra but even the cheaper 2v’s are capable of astounding numbers with the right supporting mods (not to mention cheap to buy and easy to find parts for). To say that the newest mustang is the best is kind of a sell out because of course in terms of quality, newer is better but if you’re looking for affordability, reliability, fun, easy to work on and modify yourself, you’re not going to look to a 2020 GT500.
I would have to say that my personal favorite is the GT350R. It may not be the fastest but it is an amazing machine. That NA fpc V8 and 6 speed gearbox are definitely a fun combination.
2019+ PP1 with 3.0 whipple Super charger. 720WHP and honestly a great daily!! The Rev matching when down shifting and magnaride is a plus too. I drive it everyday and actually enjoy driving to work!
I personally like Vaughn Gitten Jr's 1969 RTR-X mustang. When I think of Vaughn Gitten Jr, I think about him drifting a modified mustang. He was also the narrator of "Need For Speed Shift 2: Unleashed."
I know many people didn't like it, but I've always held a special place in my heart for the Ford Mustang II (especially the 1975-1978 Ghia version)! I selected those years because of the vinyl roof with the opera windows (which weren't available in 1974)!

Whichever is your first one will probably be your favorite. I love my S197 2014 GT. It's a manual, and the car I learned to drive a manual in. You fall in love with the things most people don't know, and for me that was the engine, the ruggedness, and the feeling of muscle instead of sport.
I have a 2002 Mustang GT 4 years with her and 169,000 miles on her. And I did a lot to her. Just rebuild the trans and engine put alittle more power and I’ll be good, not done but good!
1978 Ford Mustang II Mach I. It was my second Mustang as a kid. First with the 302 and a manual transmission that we swapped in. The engine bay was open enough for us to later shoehorn in a moderately built big block that lead to the destruction of the diff. We swapped in a diff from an Aerostar van. I learned a ton with that car, both driving and repairing. I want another one. ---Just my two cents.
The Mustang that's right for me is the one I own, a 2016 GT convertible. Of the previous versions, I do like the S197's but the version I think it would be coolest to own would be a 1966 with 289 and four speed manual.
Should have talked about which ones are the easiest to “stance” but heres a short summary..... S550: very easy to get fender to lip fitment and can buy off the shelf parts for decent camber. S197: impossible to get fender to lip fitment in the rear thanks to the solid rear end and no easy irs swaps. 79-04: gotta notch the frame in the rear unless you swap in a 99-04 cobra irs which at that point its very easy to get good fitment.
Excellent video, very well made. At 9:50 you say the S197 is based on the '65 and '66 design. My first car was a 1970 mustang and feel the S197 was much more based on the '69/'70 model. Putting a '69 GT next to the black example in your video, they would be identical, down to the fog lamps and hood scoop. And I would vote for the S197 as the best generation- a perfect combination of the original Mustang styling with modern accessories and power.
I'd say the original 05-09 S197s, which are my personal favorite models, looked the most like the 65-66 fastbacks. The newer 11-14s definitely looked more like the 69-70 like you said. I wish they called the 11-14s the S198 or something to differentiate between them. I definitely agree that the S197s are without a doubt the best generation of mustangs.
That was the most vague list I’ve ever seen. Great on the breakdown by generation. Still have no clue which model year was preferred by mod ability or price. Thanks for trying.
I’m so glad I have an S550 for the reliability, looks, and modern aspects but man I really want a fox body but people selling notch’s have way too high of prices haha

@@szzbzzdz6495 they're good, make sure you're always running good oil, the 3v heads have slugging issues, I'm a big fan of amsoil 0w-30 for heavy use, you can get it in OE series with regular intervals for like 6.80 a quart, I personally run 0w-30 signature series ro 30k in my old 2valve. The S550 may best Mustang from a performance and technology stand point, but the outgoing S197 (face lift) was just a much better looking car in the styling department. I'm currently on the search for a 2013 Boss 302 or 2014 GT to come around with the right milage and price.
I agree, s197 is my fav. I have an 11’ premium with track pack. Love it, but I am also on the hunt for a 13’ Boss. I’ve found in great shape, low miles, but the mark ups are insane. $38-42k with 25k miles or more is what I see most of. Did you ever get your hands on one?
I have a 2016 V6 MUSTANG, is it worth upgrading to the 2019 GT ? Or should I just upgrade to the 2016-2017 Mustang GT ? obliviously Bigger engine, lmkkk
Mustangs are so cool. My favorite look is the 10-12 front with a 13-14 rear, followed closely by the 15-17, then the 67-68 as the best classic, and SN95 and New Edge tie for 3rd with the Fox body as a VERY close 4th. 3rd and 4th place also kinda depend on mods, though. Some Fox builds I like more than a New Edge.

The turbo gt is the legacy car to today’s ecoboost mustangs. The Svo was an awesome car (got to drive a 85/5 which is the highest horsepower 2.3 turbo foxbody 205 hp) avoid 79-82 because the fuel lines give out a catch fire 🔥
Ive been actually looking for a weekend car so this is great!
I’m getting a mustang so it seems like y’all always post videos when I need them 😂
What gen?
@@Prestiged_peck 2009 it was passed down to me
2005-2009
@@szzbzzdz6495 they're good, make sure you're always running good oil, the 3v heads have slugging issues, I'm a big fan of amsoil 0w-30 for heavy use, you can get it in OE series with regular intervals for like 6.80 a quart, I personally run 0w-30 signature series ro 30k in my old 2valve. I'm a dealer for them but unless you're in the west texas area I can't help you much.
I've loved mustangs since a was a kid and keep trying to figure out what mustang I want to buy since I was 10 and obviously broke and eventfully figured I didn't want one anymore until I recently bought my first mustang (08) and first manual transmission after getting bored of automatics. Now I'm hooked again and want more 'stang!
I honestly still want the v6 13-14 stangs cuz of their stock power output which you forgot to mention
I got one :)
SN95/new edge for me. It's a blank canvas. Be the artist , your tools & parts are your paint.
NGL yalls SO YOU WANT A S550 MUSTANG video had a bit of an effect on my getting my 15 over the 14 TYVM
Watching this just after I bought some wheels for my new edge!!
New edge brothers!
What did you get?!

Wanted something different so I got some rotiform RSE! Hopefully they’re gonna look great!!
@@suelo9087 That's not something different though.
They look pretty much like BBS wheels from the 90s.
✌
@@Kev27RS well on new edges you really don’t see them that often. It’s always bullits, saleens or rovos
@@suelo9087 Oh I get what you mean.
I have a 2020 GT buy my fav years are the 03-04s and the 13-14s
Buying a 2001 mustang Thursday and I couldn't be more excited
The S550 may best Mustang from a performance and technology stand point, but the outgoing S197 (face lift) was just a much better looking car in the styling department. I'm currently on the search for a 2013 Boss 302 or 2014 GT to come around with the right milage and price.
S550 owners get so butthurt when you tell them that 😂
I agree, s197 is my fav. I have an 11’ premium with track pack. Love it, but I am also on the hunt for a 13’ Boss. I’ve found in great shape, low miles, but the mark ups are insane. $38-42k with 25k miles or more is what I see most of. Did you ever get your hands on one?
Kids. Gave my 09' to my daughter and looked at new stangs, then went and bought a real mustang - 67 coupe for daily driving, happy i did 😊
WHATTA BOUT THAT 2014 BRUH?!
Just one minor correction, the GT was available for 87-88 with T-Tops as I know this because I had an 88 GT with T-Tops. 😀
The S197 was the last real Mustang imo, bare bones, V8, live axle, and gave the old looks a modern refresh.
My first car is Ford Mustang 2007 V 6. Fucking love the look of her.
New edge was my first car, will alway have a spot in my heart ❤️
Thanks for the feature! Love the video!

Saving up for my 3rd mustang: 1994 mustang GT
11-14 coyotes with the 6r80 are the best bang for buck mustangs currently
I have a 2016 V6 MUSTANG, is it worth upgrading to the 2019 GT ? Or should I just upgrade to the 2016-2017 Mustang GT ? obliviously Bigger engine, lmkkk
Just boost that car. Those v6s with just a few parts and boost are fast. I have an ecoboost nI have videos of on my channel that beats gt's.
I feel like the best overall Mustang ever made was the 2013 Boss 302. There are faster or better handling cars, but the Boss 302 wins on paper.
Do you have a Boss JW?
I might be biased since I own a 2014 GT but I think 13-14 style is the best looking one lol
Fox body. Legend! Perfect size, Hatchback with Kicker box in the back. T-tops and a 5.0 what more can you ask for.
Day 16 “So you want a Pontiac Bonneville”
So you’ve been waiting as well
LOL
I respect that you put a 85-86 mustang gt in the thumbnail
You should do a “so you want a copart car”
Definitely a great idea!
I think the Ford Challenger SS is the one for me🤔
Mustangs are so cool.
I miss my 14 I loved the body style and the lights! It’s a shame it was the 3.7
same power basically as a 2005-2010 GT
@@fortheloveofnoise absolutely
just picked up a 98 Cobra.. fell in love with it
Can y’all do a so you want a Lexus is350 next?
i like the fox body fastback and the red Cobra R
2012 boss 302 is my all time fav mustang.
The terminator is a close second
According to a crap ton of sources, the 2012/2013 Boss 302 is the best Mustang ever made.
