      @@dr.patriciamills Cool, I look forward to it. Also, are you saying that I shouldn’t drink milk? I have osteopenia in my hips and osteoporosis in lumbar spine. I have had the hardest time trying to figure out what to eat in order to get calcium and the essential nutrients from food instead of supplements. Dairy is so easy and good but is it too acidic? I guess that’s why it would be nice to see how to put together a nice balance of foods to get the calcium and other nutrients from our meals and then supplement the rest if needed. Thanks so much!

    I have osteopenia. My dexa scan was .3 lumbar spine, 1.2 femur, and 2.1 hip. I was vegetarian, but now I am a whole food plant based vegan. Rather than conventional medicine, my doctor worked with me, and we added 400mg magnesium taurate to the 5000 units of D3. Also, we added K2 MK 7 and 5 prunes a day. I eat no ultraprocessed food and very little processed food. I don't eat dairy or sugar and just 1 serving of allulose in my mug of hazelnut coffee once a day. What do you think about walnuts? I have 1/8 cups daily.

    Very informative. I’m 66 and recently been diagnosed with severe osteoporosis and don’t want to go the medication route so trying to do all the lifestyle things first. Based on balance the acid and alkaline foods, could you give ideas of what is good to eat for breakfast? What I’ve been doing for a good while is having full fat plain Greek yogurt , kefir and nuts and seeds with berries and homemade almond butter mixed in. Is that a good breakfast or any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks so much

    • @dr.patriciamills
      @dr.patriciamills  หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Hi! According to the acid-base food info that would be an acid forming breakfast mostly, with only a little alkaline berries. Ideally you would add vegetables to this, so for example start with a salad or a plate of cooked veggies. You can keep the rest but reduce the quantity and balance it out with the alkaline foods. In many traditional cultures veggies are eaten as part of breakfast. Hope this helps!

    The dairy industry has been exploiting this phenomenon for 30 years to prevent milk fever in fresh dairy cows. What happens is cows for 3 weeks before they freshen are fed chloride and sulfate salts to "acidify" their systems. To balance this acid cows will then start pulling calcium from their bones. When they then freshen and start milking they can handle the sudden high demand for calcium. So blood calcium does not drop and they do not suffer from milk fever.

    Kale spinach and many vegetables are loaded with oxalates which cause bloating and digestive issues. Not sure where the plant study came from or if there was an agenda but if you look at the world we are on a mainly plant based diet with very low protein and we are sick!! Metabolicly unwell so much diabetes and so forth. Many teeth issues , cavities as said to be normal. Read the book by Weston Price a dentist who study humans around the world, the diet he found for true health. Unfortunately we've been lied to by big pharma, big food industry. Its a money maker for big medical.

    • @dr.patriciamills

      I’ve read Weston Price book cover to cover, I’m not advocating plant based but plant rich. I’m omnivore and eat organ meats, bibs broths, nose to tail. If you cook plants like kale and potatoes in water the oxalates leach out. Same with beans and grains - you have to soak before cooking to get rid of the anti nutrients like lectins and phytic acid. We need a diverse diet rich in nutrients and eating alkaline plants to balance out the acid forming meats is essential for reducing inflammation. Hope this helps!

    What can we do to cause alkalosis? Does excess salt increase acid production? Do you think distilled water 7.0, helps to leech calcium? Should we get our minerals from our food or water? 1 kg=2.2 lbs for those not using the metric system. Who are the Authors you have gleaned your knowledge from? Are ruminant animals best equipped to digest grasses and plants? Have you broken down the nutrient profiles of 1 lb or 1.1 kg of meats, fish and poultry? Salt-Farmers feed salt and other minerals in the slop they serve the animals before slaughter. I suggest everyone get a book that breaks down all the nutrition in each food. • @christinealton350
      @christinealton350 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You would have to eat 20 cups of broccoli to get the protein in 3 oz of ground beef or turkey. Amino acids in animal protein is far superior and bio available to the body. Unfortunately there has been much mis information on animal protein.

    • @dr.patriciamills
      @dr.patriciamills  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      What the protein is packaged with is different, and the sequence of amino acids is different between plant and animal protein. As an example, milk protein has more leucine than plant protein. Therefore the effects of animal protein are different than the effects of plant protein, exactly because of the differences in the amino acids making them up. This is just one example of why animal products are different from plant products - there are many others but with respect to your question this is relevant. Hope this helps!

      @@dr.patriciamills the Alkalarian way of eating quickly promoted my osteoporosis. Vegetables, greens, starches and the rest of alkaline plants are not easily assimilated in the human gut. Ruminants and other creatures that eat leaves and grasses need bugs. The bugs eaten with grasses and plants are important aspects of an animal's diet. Humans are hybridized creatures. We evolved through long years of cellular struggles for survival. Our stomach acid is usually 1-1.5. That makes us acidic beings so to speak. We take our own lives with diets and foods not fit for any creature. In the recent news the company developing lab grown meat is deciding to sell it to pet food manufacturers. Shocking? Absolutely! We met Dr. Young and his lovely wife at the California Health Expo. They were both terribly overweight. My husband asked how he got so heavy. Three avacados a day plus oils and nuts. Well, we were doing the all raw Hallelujah Diet under the Malkmus family. George had a stroke right in front of us and that terrified all of us. We became Health Ministers and eventually lost over 20 lbs each. Our teeth went bad. We were skinny but full of energy. All this stuff is an offshoot of Natural Hygiene. This basically started in the 1800s. Most of the adherents died very unhealthy. You should do a deep dive on all the diet gurus in the last 150 or more years. We have all been taught terrible lies. Those lies have brainwashed millions of people. The Blood Type Diet looked interesting and the book made sense but it was not true. My husband has the books and stories and experience.
