- Global Airlines, a start-up U.K.-based airline, has flown its first Airbus A380 from California to the U.K. as it gears up for a launch. Next, China Southern Airlines has announced it will purchase 100 COMAC C919 aircraft to ease capacity pressures across its network. Lastly, Air France-KLM has posted a larger-than-expected loss of 489 million euros across Q1 following higher operating costs.

I say bring on Global!! Best of luck to them!!
they will need your good luck
It would be nice to see Global succeed, just to ensure the negative Nancy's can bathe in their own sweat telling us they always knew that Global would succeed afterwards.
😂
Global airlines seems like the wet dream of a 15yo avgeek ‘we’re gonna fly the a380 to Hollywood!’
The name doesn't sound like a real airline
It will go bankrupt after a year
@@AshrakAhmedif its lucky. because it will never happen
Sounds like Elon Musk….
I seek A380 as a passenger. Best airliner
Wish Global all the best
Watched the A380 land at Prestwick.Part of the Inboard L/E was actually built here by Spirit for the 380,I was on the project for 13 years!✈️👍🏼
What happened at 2:07 lol
The A380 is not inefficient that is just plain wrong, otherwise the 747-8 is inefficient too which is even worse. Emirates has flown the A380 very successfully for years. If you can fill the plane the economics will work.
Emirates gets illegal subsidies
4 engined aircraft are inefficient these days. Time didn't stop since the introduction of both. Just check the 777X if it ever gets certified, it is close to the same capacity with half the number of engines compared to the 747-8. Thus far less fuel, maintenance and usually repair costs too. The 388 has an even worse problem, it's been designed with the 389 wing, turning it into a fuel guzzler.
Global has to be up to the game to succeed with their specialized business model. I hope they make it.
Again, if you think that the goliath a380 is fuel efficient then you’re dreaming! That’s why the airlines either dumped the plane or plan too. Emirates is backed by an oil-rich country silly. The 747-8 is not fuel efficient either. Notice the new airliners only have two engines?
@@jantjarks7946are you kidding A380 has almost 200 seats more than B777X. It’s not « almost the same capacity » and probably the reason it did not successfully operated on long period. It should be filled up completely to make money. Which was seldomly the case except with Emirates. Otherwise the best plane ever for pax.
@@alainmare8081 Read my comment again. Thank you.
This A380 is at my work at Prestwick.
Give it a kiss.
😂
Ty Dj!!
Would be fantastic if Global were successful, I believe they intend to operate a fleet of 4 that's a lot of seats to fill, but the 380 is very cost effective when full and if they can offer a different experience from other mainstream airlines at a low enough price they could have a market,.
Many on here won't remember Laker Airways who pioneered low cost travel from the UK to the US, he operated a small fleet of DC10s at first he was very successful he filled those new planes to the maximum with low cost 'turn up and go' service which was something completely different, unfortunately for him he was brought down by BA, Pan Am and TWA. Global could work, I wish them all success.
I remember both iterations of Laker.
I really hope that Global becomes successful!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Go Global!!!
Good luck global!😊
I wish Global Airlines a very good luck. Hopefully, Global Airlines can lift off the ground.
They want to use the A380 as an air bus.. hmm.. radical
Bad News For Air France KLM Group.Great Video And Info
2:07 i guess the video is gonna be reuploaded
I think Global will get slots, because the special gates for A380 will be available, the Airports will give A380 first spot for those.
really? those slots can only be used for the A380?
@@ursodermatt8809 Others can use the gates, but then less capacity over all are used.
@@ursodermatt8809The number of passengers makes the difference for the airport. More passengers, more income. It would be nonsense to give a bay to a smaller plane with less passengers needlessly. Even though existing contracts might delay Globals access.
@@jantjarks7946
it would be nonsense giving slots to a doubtful airline that does not even exist yet.
no matter what kind of an airline.
history shows those airline blip up, last a year or so and then disappear again.
@@ursodermatt8809 Doubtful in whose eyes? It's money that talks. Nothing else. Big plane, big money. Small plane, little money. The sales people will give it a go after checking it. There's no doubt about that.
Excessively ambitious, repeated missed deadlines, contentious public image... are we sure Global Airlines isn't owned by Elon Musk?
I was at Prestwick for the A380 touchdown as featured on my channel. A historic day for the 1st A380 landing at Prestwick time will tell if this venture proves to be viable
I imagine the maintenance cost for Global is going to be massive with an all 380 fleet. I hope they have a fallback plan just in case the 380 plan falls through.
They don’t need to worry about maintenance, the company will be long gone before the first scheduled maintenance come up for the aircraft.
The first maintenance will be the first real expenses, true. But they sure have factored that in when calculating the purchase price of the plane/s. As such only the operations will show how successful they really are.
And in more bad Boeing news, a ten year old Fedex 767 semi belly landed in Istanbul Turkey when its nose gear failed. Again this is most likely a maintenence issue with Fedex, but its still the type of news Boeing doesn't want to hear.
Can you make a video about the Air Vanuatu problems?
Wow . The 737 MAX is a safer option ………you sure?
The C919 will only be safer based on _reported_ incidents. 🙃
But probably Global Airlines got those airplanes dirt cheap.
I watched the A380 land in Montreal
Start ups do not have the dead weight that legacy carriers have to carry around with them.
Who saw global a380 on fr24
Can you talk about beregional in your next vid its the new flybe 3.0
How availablle are parts for the A380?
Exclusive: Chinese government ordered its own planes
Shades of Aeroflot in the 1960s and 1970s ordering Tupolevs and Ilyushins as per Kremlin instructions. Comic 919 will go the same way, unless it is actually a good aircraft, not caught up in some dirty geopolitics.
Would be cool if global looked into purchasing smaller A350s as well and fly them into San Diego for example.
I think airlines whoud be more interested in an Embraer narrowbody jet (in the league of a320/737) instead of the comac c919.
Embraer would be the closest to replacing the aging 737 and would challenge the 320 too with a modern design similar to the E2 series.
But Bombardier showed how difficult it is to challenge the big boys highly entrenched in politics.
Global will indeed be a huge success
Why the blackout?
I think global airlines should add some more efficient aircraft like A350.
I agree. They will be upset if none of the 380s get filled. Them aircraft’s aren’t easy
Unfortunately, I can't see Global making a go of it.
When is Global first flight 2030?
I believe global can do it, it just might take a while and some adjustments.
I think global should of done this with the a350-1000
Why was the thumbnail a stretched a380😭😭
Yeah, i thought that it had 4 A380s already?...
Why keep reuploaded the same videos
Thanks Dj! I really don’t care for “GLOBAL’s” livery. Red is hard to pull off and I think that they have the wrong shade of red. Also, the name GLOBAL in its current form looks quite amateur on the the side of the a380. What’s with all the losses (from so many airlines) when supposedly the passenger numbers are so high? China will be a major manufacturer even if they served their own market alone. Comac will (unfortunately ?) rival or surpass our current manufacturers.
There is also an airline called GLOBAL X
Well, I can see why the Chinese airliners are scrambling to obtain these Comac jets as quickly as possible. With US and EU warhawks threatening to sanction China, just like they did with Russia, China needs to have its own home-grown jets as soon as possible.
2:07
Global airlines sounds like Emirates
Isn’t the A380 out of production?
The sales orders for Comac, while, most assuredly, are at the behest of the Government, may allow them to generate enough funding to aquire Boeing in 2025. Could yopu imagine a Chinese Made 737 Max 9 made with efficient, cost effective and skilled Chinese Workers? That looks to be the best route to saving Boeing, plusd the Airlines will save Capital Costs allowing those in the maginally profitable range to see higher revenues. Take a page out of Apple's business plan!
Is it you or goggle swamping your videos with advertisements. Big put off. If it persists will give your site a miss
A380 are not failures but you need to k ow how to use them
Global isn't new ...... Their CEO and COO are not new in this they have combined 30+ years in this industry and a lot of money behind it. Their idea is bridge of what Emirates can't cover because it's not from Dubai, so they fill in the GAP. Key will be they need to JOIN the mile program with them asap. Once that is done it will be rock solid.
It is an efficient aircraft, of course, otherwise airlines wouldn’t fly it. You have to look at the whole picture too and how successful airlines successfully can make it work well, yes including Emirates. Some airlines didn’t do a great job with it or slam it after fall outs with Airbus. Guess who? The 777-9 may not be as efficient since it uses a lot of classic 777 basis with a new engine and avionics, ut it will still be 10 abreast hell on an aircraft that was designed for 9 abreast in economy
The Middle East is geographically in Asia. It would be more precise to say East Asia and West Asia/Middle East...
I do not believe that Chinese Airlines have a choice in purchasing the C919 aircraft. I wish Global Airlines th ebest of luck.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Chinese airliness had an awful lot of choice, but to order the C919
It's 'aitch', not 'haitch'
For prices and values, C919 definitely suits to those deemed as "poor and developing" by the West African and Asian countries.
So they buy an aircraft that’s 85% or so American 🤣
greed greed greed, pay upp the staff or sodd off.
Who on earth would want to fly Comac?
Another 10 whistle blowers!
You could make a side channel to cover Boeing woes.
Okay.
Comac could get orders for 10,000 C919s it really doesn’t make a difference. They may be able to boost production to 3 per year 😂. They probably plan to pass plan around the 3 airlines a week at a time. In hopes of maybe getting 20 hours a week in service from it if nothing fails 🤷♂️
I think the C919 will be put yo good use in China. Regardless I'm still glad they exist. We really need some more competition in this segment.
global is brooke before 2025
Futile attempt.
Global won’t even take off if it did it won’t last long sorry

Sounds too much like Trans Global Airlines...It's a joke, don't lose your mind!
Global airlines livery is 🤢🤮
its not that bad
It’s pretty bad, but not is bad is Spirit livery
Good that you recognized them, mission accomplished.
China Southern(state airline) buying a state built aircraft. If they cannot sell it to the home audience then they can hardly sell it abroad(I have worked in Chinese airlines since 2015). I suspect they had a gun to their head, buy or find yourself under the punishment microscope 🙂
