i always remember back in wotlk (or maybe early cata) while my guild was in duskwood as part of a giant spontaneous world pvp fight, our mage got stuck in one of the chimneys in darkshire and i had to lock summon him from like 5 feet away to get him out. just one of those silly wow memories that stick with you for some reason. mesah, wherever you are i hope you're well and staying out of chimneys!
Furbolg houses always reminded me of a book I had as a kid about a family of squirrels who lived in a hollow tree branch that was hit by lightning (twice) so their high rise apartment became a mobile home. The book was called "Lightning Strikes Twice, a Woodsey Adventure" and was (I came to find out later) part of a line of toys from Fisher Price. ETA the main difference being the Woodsey family wear more clothes than your typical furbolg, and are somewhat less agressive.
About the Human starting zone chimneys looking outdated, this is because many of the farm houses are modeled after the building assets from WarCraft III. Those farms with the 2 uneven pipes in particular are a direct copy of the chimney of the Farms that were used to increase Food/Population capacity. And regarding the Anvilmar chimney, this is the only place in the game you find one like it, because the building model for Anvilmar itself is not used anywhere else. The fireplace area in vanilla and even now, I think, is not accessible to a player character, even though it looks like a Gnome, perhaps, might be able to jump in there. Due to this, and due to Anvilmar not having a flight point (nearest one is Kharanos), the devs likely didn't bother linking the bottom of the chimney to the top of the fireplace inside. After all, no one would have been able to get to the top of it and check inside, they could only see the smoke coming out from ground-level. When Cata came around, a lot of zones were re-worked (large cities in particular) to give them roofs and such, which had been initially omitted, but because Anvilmar was only used in one place it likely didn't make any sense to allocate resources for someone to rework the chimney so they just left it as-is and called it a day. Little did they know someone would be bringing this under scrutiny a literal decade later while investigating other chimneys :D
In brewing you mix the cracked grains with water, now called a wort, and boil that for a certain amount of time, depending on what type of beer you are making. Then you add other things like hops or other flavorings. Cook it a bit longer, strain it, pitch the yeast, and ferment it. Basically speaking.
Technically someone could still see inside it with spells like Farsight, but the devs probably didn't think it was a big deal and that very few people would even attempt that.
The Dorn chimneys could have different color smoke due to fuel used. Different log types have different smoke and coal and stuff could be different too.
Fun fact. In Ancient Greece respiratory problems were common because they didn’t have good ventilation for their hearths (called Hestia). Not sure if they even had chimneys. Fire was essencial for the home (Oikos). For cooking, offerings and more! There you go, a pointless fun fact! ❤
As far as the Earthen Chimneys on #2 are concerned, I think there's a simple explanation for the white smoke vs black smoke. There are certain tree types that produce wispy smoke, some that produce black cumulus smoke, some that produce sweet-smelling invisible smoke. The Unbound are probably burning a type of wood that produces that wispy white smoke, one that doesn't cause pollution in the local environment. Meanwhile, the Machine Speakers are burning coal, or something similar, in their forges deep below, which would produce that heavy black smoke.
Love how people are in the pointless statue in the opening, trying to get back to the wowcrendor reference thats inside it. (theres a pointless treasure salesman thats in the back of it thats part of the secrets of azeroth questline)
how could you forget about blackrock foundry, some of the biggest chimneys in the game and you can fly inside them and the entire screen is pitch black. very unique
As far as I'm aware the colour of the smoke indicates how well the fuel was oxydized. White smoke = good oxydization process, not a lot of carbon left on it's own black smoke = soot city yellow smoke = uh-oh
Awww he didn’t acknowledge the new secret in the goblin treasure statue there’s a vendor in the statue now, and you need it for a secret in wow so inside pointless things are treasure because he sells a very useful item.
This series always helps me to come back to wow, I love seeing the little things of this world. So many small things we don't usually appreciate.

This was Pointless. 10/10! Would watch again.

Has crendor done a top 10 pointless masonry carving mosaics? Specifically just wall art but carved into specifically. Titans, etc
I love seeing all the little designs in the world and on the building you never really see when you fly around in the world :)

Merry New Yeardor, Crendor.

For the end of the new year can we please get pointless top ten, pointless top tens?
Of 2024
I own a chimney service business, doing everything from building chimneys, cleaning, you name it. Love this
Fun fact. In Ancient Greece respiratory problems were common because they didn’t have good ventilation for their hearths (called Hestia). Not sure if they even had chimneys.
Fire was essencial for the home (Oikos). For cooking, offerings and more!
There you go, a pointless fun fact! ❤
Wallpapers in buildings! Especially goblin buildings and inns have cool ones
edit: you can even see the cute penguin one at 4:45
Now this is content

Love how people are in the pointless statue in the opening, trying to get back to the wowcrendor reference thats inside it. (theres a pointless treasure salesman thats in the back of it thats part of the secrets of azeroth questline)
My favorite morning show to have breakfast and coffee with.
The big barrel in the brewery in Pandaria is propably not called a barrel but a vat.
I know you've done skies, but an updated version would be fun!
Furbolgs don't have OSHA
This is festive in a very Crendorian way
how could you forget about blackrock foundry, some of the biggest chimneys in the game and you can fly inside them and the entire screen is pitch black. very unique
I never realized until recently that the statue introduction is different for every video.
My girlfriend and I watch your videos every night and she would like Top 10 Crystals. Thank you.

yellow smoke = uh-oh
You really do come up with the greatest most pointless videos :D
Have you done top 10 doors/gates?
liking and commenting before I've even watched the video for the algorithm!
Top 10 npcs with torches!
I'm not a brewmaster, but I do live near a brewery and they STINK!
I've never been near a brewery, but since I hate the smell of beer, I'm not surprised that breweries stink.
4:10 in the mountains
are you referring to the welding as "plate connections"?
Oh boy, time to learn some pointless facts with Professor Crendor, PhD!
Have you done sky boxes?
The furbolg chimneys seem to be uncircumcised
He should venture into in-game audio...like pointless top 10 weird noises (environment sounds, spellcast sounds, npc dialogue, etc) 😉
The word "Chimney" has ceased to hold any meaning in my mind...
My chimney is not connected to my house :o
i was told to comment, so i am commenting a comment
hearing you say "chimney" so many times made me realise how weird the word is.
at the end of the video you say forges but i think you mean fireplaces
Wheres the muffin, Crendor?
Awww he didn’t acknowledge the new secret in the goblin treasure statue there’s a vendor in the statue now, and you need it for a secret in wow so inside pointless things are treasure because he sells a very useful item.
Pointless top ten ogres soon please crendor

This was actually pointless.
You said Chimney so many times, it lost all meaning to me, and I don't even use it that much myself, since I'm not a native english speaker.
