@@freshwildflowers The name of the narrator and his website is in the video description. I understand given the sophistication of narration tools why people are skeptical, but in this case I worked directly with him to record six episodes. It's been a lesson for the future. Because despite paying for this lots of people mistake the polish for automation!
I hated this zone, and much of Kalimdor until I started playing Twow. Now on that server, Desolace became one of of my favorites. Because I took my troll hunter there and made bank for 10 or so levels. The kodo graveyard was great. The kodos could be skinned, and dropped Heavy Kodo Meat, which i could sell for about 10g a stack for the centaur rep quests on the AH. And the buzzards dropped meat for cooking, and occasionally pristine feathers, which were used in the fashion coin repeatable quests for Transmogs. Each of them was selling for almost 8g back then too. So I was flying high on this zone back then lol. First time ever that I spent so much time in Desolace, doing quests and seeing the zone.
I've never been this early to find such a gem (subscribed!), thanks to you I'm now questing on Desolace for the first time on my new Classic playthrough. Pretty much agree with the other comment, it's art. It feels like the Discovery Channel narration combined serene melancholy, beautiful.
Another incredible video. I bet that these videos take alot of work to do. Hope you get found by more people and maybe we can get a longer type of video in the future.🥳
Thanks again for the comment. I wrote from memory to start, the ones I've chosen are the ones I spent the most time in. Definitely, thinking of sewing them all together at the end but also doing some deeper dives.
Thanks! I chose ones that I'd levelled in the most to be honest! But also that had enough geographical differences that I could write about them without repeating myself zone to zone. Desolace stands out in that way, (also I think a lot of people skip it levelling wise).
Respectfully disagree (not with the love part, I also love this channel's content). There's a ton of WoW lore videos out there, even some that go zone by zone. This content is unique. All the things we see and hear, all the things we imagine we can smell, taste and touch, the emotional impact, deserves its own focus.
“This place is empty”
*bird flies about*
“Nothing could hide here”
*lizard immediately reveals itself from behind a rock*
Desolace definitely didn't live up to its name when it came time to film it.
That was fun. Guess I’ll have to take one of my level 30-something characters to Desolace now. I got me a sudden hankerin’. 🤓
Where are all these cool WoW channels coming from all of a sudden? YCGT, Gutterspeak, Verigan. This is awesome
I've stopped feeling the zones like I felt them when I played wow as a kid. You made me feel that magic again. Thank you! 😊
Thanks, that was what inspired me to write about them in the first place! Glad it came across.
THE MOMENT I REALISED ITS A WOW DOCUMENTARY GOT ME SMILING HAHA
This is art.
Thanks @ponddata. Really appreciated!
Ai generated
@suron9135 There wasn't any AI involved in this. Human written and human recorded from start to finish. Appreciate the feedback though!
@@YouCanGoTherethe voice is clearly AI dude

Masterpiece about Desolace equals instant subscribe and bell notification activated.
nice to read that you got an actual voice actor for this.
Thank you! Rob Jones' work is great.
this was nice. Desolace is one of my favorite zones.
Same, somehow.
Same here, which was why it was one of my first choices. Always choose to level there.

You have quite the imagination, which is what I had for these old zone long ago. Thanks for rekindling the wonder ❤
Appreciate that - it's definitely based on my first reactions to the zones too! Happy to help rekindle it.
Thank you for a fascinating homage to one of the most interesting zones in the game.
Appreciate it @TrentTube, thanks for the comment!
You perfectly captured why Desolace always felt so haunting when everyone gives it hell for being empty and boring. It's like that for a good reason.
Thank you! I agree, gives it the most distinct, albeit eerie, vibe.

Thanks so much, really appreciate this comment. Have fun in Desolace, underrated zone in my opinion!
woah. this is pretty good? like i'm impressed. i'm going to watch more, is there more?
Honoured to be one of your first subscribers. Keep this up, others will follow.
Much appreciated @Foretelling. Thanks for subscribing and the kind words!
One of my favorite zones in the game since the start. Definitely an acquired taste to make this part of your leveling rotation.
Agree, and once you've done it there's a lot to revisit. (Particulary the Magram/Gelkis lines)
You've earned another sub today. Keep doing what you're doing. This was an unexpected but welcomed pleasure. Thank you!
i love this project
This made me feel like the phantom tip of a broken trident.
Nice analogy!

Princess Theradras in Maraudon absorbed all the life from Desolace. Also what if all that isn't sand, dirt or rock but kodo bone dust?
Blackreach from Skryim would also be GREAT
Love it
Thanks for bringing to light a zone that I often forget about. What inspired the choice of locations for this series?

@@YouCanGoThere Yeah, guilty as charged here 😅 Good to know though! I'm looking forward to catching up with the Mulgore video soon.
@@YouCanGoThere I personally think every single zone in this game is unique enough to warrant its own video eventually.
Where does one learn how to write like this? I'm jealous!
Haha - thanks so much for the kind words!
very well written
Thank you!
On my first playthrough, stranglethorn was such a shitfest I did my levels in desolace. It had a weird charm to it.
This video made me feel like an eternal observe. A pleasent surprise this video was 9🎉😊
Thank you!
Kenshi vibes
Very cool once again
Thank you, appreciated!
although it feels like ai generated script (words ebb and flow' give it away) I liked it like 9/10 and subscribed
Appreciate the subscribe and kind words. It's all human written, but noted on using fewer clichés! Thanks for the feedback.
I love this. Could add a bit more lore explanation per section.
