When you're around people that like to test your peace, it's very difficult. What I truly need right now is to step back from all of the people I know, for a long time.

I believe this is a message from the universe, Spencer. You are surrounded by so many tests that are hoping to break your peace. If you practice in these environments and never allow your peace to be shaken, you will go so far in life. This period of your life where it isn't easy, is the universe training you for what lies ahead.
Although, If you are in a toxic situation, I do hope you find safe ground to step away. Sending light, love and positivity.

I agree, I always try to be present and when someone I view as a friend knows a subject is a sore one, I say it's in the past and that person doesn't have any effect on me anymore. This person will not accept my answer and continually bring it up to get an emotional reaction from me. No matter how many times I have shrugged it of. I dont want to be confrontational. So it's difficult, I try not to take it personally, but after a while it's disheartening. So I'm not sure if I have something to learn from being around this person

I know no one asked, but to put my two cents in; I think that you're right in that you might not learn anything from being around this person. The lesson might be setting clear boundaries and knowing when to pull away from someone who isn't adding to your life. Hope all's well.

I sat quietly on a polished rock by the riverbank, listening to the murmurs of the gently flowing stream. It was a lovely morning & my gaze was transfixed on one spot in the crystal clear river. Suddenly I heard a faint voice from within whispered: "It's never the same water every time, is it?". It was a powerful A-ha moment for me. I realized that the name, the word, River has become an image that blocks us to see the reality: the water that flows is never the same. From that day on, I let my mind be like that of the flowing water... always new. But I do feel for those whose minds are like stagnant waters; most people just don't get it - what flows is Life. What stagnates is already dead. Hugs & love, Nada. Keep on flowing, brother.

The biggest goal is to decipher who and what is even worthy of a response, no less a reaction. Anything that seeks a response or a reaction from you is an attempt at taking your power and attempting to control the narrative. Stay in your own movie and keep everything on your terms.

Working on ourselves is truly the best way to understand others and to be understood. Working through the anger and frustration of not being heard or understood is difficult, because it's painful to not be understood. As another person on the spectrum, I know this feeling of being chronically misunderstood can build over time. It's important to give ourselves space to work through these feelings. Learning to control my breathing has been one of the most helpful tools I've come across, as simple and cliche as it sounds. If I don't have a calm body, there is no clarity of mind. Without clarity of mind, I'm almost guaranteed to communicate my thoughts, feelings, and desires ineffectively.

All took sides against each other and I was tired of the bickering and hate. I actually believed the narrative they'd set for me...for a while anyway. Then I became AWAKE. I really learned to love myself truly. Now I'm trying to show my family the love that I really have for them in my heart and I cant even believe it!!!!! Its working! I thought they hated me for the choices I've made along the way. But they still truly love you even though they may not show it. I hope for you that you all find pathways back to each others hearts.

Same here. Waiting to step away. You are the good person. Supporting unethical people is not good. You did the right thing. Your family or you aren't enemies against each other. But, the situations created some hostility. Only foolish person will support wrong people stay with people who hate that person. I am such a fool since I don't have a place to go. But, I have a suggestion. Don't blame your family or anyone else about anything. Any talking about others creates sadness in you. Be away from emotions that force you to blame others. Your energy depletes. Instead recognize the bad with kindness but be away from them by wishing them well. Once you stop mentioning people in your conversations you will see how liberated you feel. You will become free and can go ahead with your life goals. Your goals are important and worthy of conversations. Not negative people. Always remember that. Negative people are an illusion. Your goals aren't an illusion.

I wish I saw this before the same happened to me with a couple of friends of over 10 years. I spoke with respect and they were insulting and name calling. One just looked at my words and never responded and the other continued to attack me until I had to block her phone number. This video did help me have more compassion for them rather than feeling raw about what happened. It simply happened and all I can do is learn from it.

I understand where you're coming from with the idea of not engaging with this hostile person, but you should feel proud of yourself for putting in the extra effort. To actually take the time and energy to ask them to explain themselves so you can better understand them and fix the situation. That you we're indeed patient and compassionate in the moment instead of just reacting.
Most people would have either ignored them or retaliated, but you went the extra mile because you wanted to understand them and let them know that you heared what they were saying (even if you don't agree with them) in their agitated state. You can 110% say you walked away "Hands Clean" of the situation because you did everything you could to solve it. Which is a lot more then most people do now a days and just contributes to your level of kindness & compassion you have for others. Be proud & at peace :) xoxo

So many people do not want this solution. People love staying in the problem because hatred and blame and rallying together to defeat a foe, are all so intoxicating. Hate and blame also do not require personal accountability. Please avoid group think and of course, don’t watch the “news”. The more one side can get you to hate the other side, the more control they have over your thought life. I strive to embrace what I LOVE, rather than fighting what I hate.

I have not yet reached that deep level of compassion where I can realize a mean abusive person is suffering. I feel that mean people target kind people because they take kindness as weakness. That is wrong. Getting angry is fine. Being cruel deliberately is not. I will however take your suggestion and try but I feel that will make me more of a target for malicious people to be abusive.

Kindness can also be seen as a threat by traumatised people as it is a common manipulation tactic used in abuse and to control people. Also there are many people who are are afraid of vulnerability, kindness means to be vulnerable, it opens you to the possibility of being hurt. Hope that made sense.

Hurt people hurt people. People have probably hurt you in life because they themselves were hurt by others. It's best to learn to forgive them, they are shattered people that do not act as a whole person would. They are not in control of what they do, they are controlled by what others have done to them in the past. Do not however fall into the trap that forgiveness means you have to allow them to re-traumatize you.

This is not true compassion. Sometimes compassion is walking away while wishing the other person well. Compassion must also be reserved for oneself. Compassion could mean walking away and allowing the other person the freedom to be who they are.

its hard to have the grace to realize where my frustrations with people come from, if they're actually to do with my own patterns, or i am truly being misunderstood by people. i found your channel this morning and i'm liking your perspective on this. its probably best to leave things alone when it comes to others. its so easy to have your own flaws reflected back at you. it can be hard when you think you can help someone but youre met with hostility, and the end of the day its not really my job. i often wonder if they'd ever think of doing the same for me, or if they get all overly self-reflective after getting into a minor spat like i tend to. it can also be hard to get an accurate read on your own intentions! it seems so strange, after 7 months of being stuck in the house i feel like i need to draw back even further from people. having honest conversations is tough.

It is difficult to understand what is happening in the world and the energies of fear and anger are not the only way to be...love and faith in the goodness of the universe in the mystery that is always available to us. Fear blocking the blessings and love for all of us in this time of upheaval and craziness. Diversity and compassion for all people is the way to be. Stay present and listen and learn from the experience and bless the situation in hopes that we will find the best way to be kind and caring. We are all together and we're all under alot of pressure. Love heals! Perpetual and everlasting peace in my heart is how I cope. Not losing the vibration of loving kindness. Stay present. I totally agree with your points in your comments on how to treat awkward and angry people who get in your life. Careful not to add to the problem but to be thoughtful and understanding and realize the situation is in fear and needs patience and understanding that takes a gentle touch with hope for respect for our differences. Relax and allow the energies to change. We can't fix other people, only by living with love, truth and integrity to your life path.

My only regret and bothered me for years until I realized that everything had to happen exactly as it did I wouldn't be me. I've never feared death and never hesitated to defend myself and others and the one time I didn't was because my friend was the bully and that person was never the same and hung himself a few years later and a week later that ex friend broke into a girls house the day of her funeral and her family put him in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. I blamed myself for not reacting when I should have. I believe one person actions could have prevented a school shooting from happening. The bullies that stopped talked to me later and told me it changed their life's for the better and apologized. I know the Buddha would protect others with right intention.

Perfectly articulated. I truly admire your ability to stay calm and put that triggered feeling aside to be kind and open minded and hearted. That was such a beautiful contrary action to choose.
Sadly, I had to disconnect from a close friend because she allowed her emotions around current events to change her from a compassionate person to a hateful, bullying and judgmental person and while I know her intentions were good, all she did was add fuel to a raging fire and perpetuated more of what she claimed to be against. I send her love and well wishes because I know she has suffered trauma and loss that has caused her to behave the way she does out of fear and understandable anger but I had to set a boundary and remove myself from the friendship for my own mental health. I felt great anxiety about it and this message was so helpful and comforting.
And you nailed it by addressing the media manipulation that only foments so much conflict and anger. It’s so big of you to take that time to put your feelings aside and think for yourself, and it’s not easy to do, which is, I think, largely why we find ourselves here. This is just such beautiful insight.

I aimed that reaction at communicating my needs and limits, that I would not accept that treatment basically. But my energy was a swirling tornado of fire for days to come. I know this is about my past so I'm trying to understand and transcend. When someone threatens me physically or energetically through, I definitely cannot stay calm. I would like to understand the source of that and transform or strengthen. For now, I just accept that I am not perfect and I also have limits of my own which make me reactive as well. And feel compassion in my heart for the person even though I do not accept their behavior.
