I read his books (Start With Why, and Leaders Eat Last) and I watched many of his speech. He changed my life. This is a great person and I think many people would agree if I say that WE need more people like Simon!
This person makes me realised what mistakes i have made in the past, how negative i think sometimes, and how good i can be justing my reacting differently on certain occasions. He has changed my thinking all together. God bless him.
*Values. Generosity. Humanity.* SO appreciate Simon Sinek's message "100% of customers are people. 100% of clients are people. 100% of employees are people. Make it about THEM. Not about you. If you don't understand PEOPLE you don't understand BUSINESS." ~SO MANY great quotes within this presentation! WELL WORTH the watch!
Most of this was not new information for me, I am 66 years old and have lived long enough to see all these scenarios play out. However your presentation put it all together in a way that I comprehend it for the first time. I am retired from Oil business and it was frowned upon to go to someone's office to talk about idea. ..... "Put it in a email" .... even worse was the suggestion we CC our Boss. Good news is; I recently started my own business and I am so excited to be the kind of leader that loves and brings out the best in every associate. Thank You; Old Dog Learns a New Trick and Wears a Red Hat! May God Bless You!
Glenda Bliss, that is really great! You give me hope, thank you for that! I am a lady who suffer from deep depression for 7 years in a row, lost everyone around me and i thought at my age (all moust 50), i was done...Reading your story, tells me otherwise. Again thank you so much! Astrid from The Netherlands. P.s, sorry i can not give you a hug...:)
That is so wonderful Glenda. To think of the ripple effect you will have on your employees, associates, friends, family, and community. Each of them will pass along what you have given them. This is how we change the world.
"Work with people who believe on what you believe." That's the most important thing that I got from this video. Very important, very interesting...Thanks!!
THIS is why I focus so much on leadership culture in my business! It's powerful to help people commit to their convictions and operate with their values in mind. But I do have to say one thing: Homeless people are very likely to share their limited resources with other homeless people because homeless people need each other to survive the streets. (Spoken as someone who was homeless/lived in my car and who formed these strong connections with other homeless people as we shared our food and other survival resources.)
He is so calm and easy to listen and follow. Not many speakers/leaders have this special skill. Most speakers I've heard talk too fast, or can't connect with. I noticed bc most of these speakers make it about them, and Simon makes it about us.
One thing that helps me create trust is something I learned from an amazing ted video. With the same principle of common ground, I learned to see people and see for their experiences. And the emotion they felt when they were experiencing them. Their pain of abandonment, anger, frustration, complaint, joy, peace, euphoria, love, confusion etc etc. I also tap into their motivation behind what they do. Their need to be peace with themselves, their need to feel important, their need to express their originality and be loved for that. Their need to have someone their for them etch etc. And these are things I know in my own life. And I just listen to others and tap into that part of their story which I can already relate to. And boom! We are close! This way of perceiving life and relating with others have given me a passage into any human beings heart. And thus I am no longer alone in this world.
I'm in love with this guy. He is a genius.Simon Sinek , Thank you so much for sharing your great ideas with us. You inspire me to stop concentrating on my selfish goals and do something for other people.
I knew the feeling of helping others while crab fishing. I was young in the berring sea. During a storm we were called to rescue a larger king crab boat, at one day away at sea called the Skip Blander. She and crew were dead in the water. Each swell was 30 plus feet high. After finally getting a line over to the tail end and someone crab our longest throw. I atacked a 2 in Samson line to our stern and we towed the crew in large seas back safely to Acutan Ak. Non of requested or got paid , but we all felt great for help people we never knew or ever meet. Thanks for the opportunity to say this from back in the happening of 1980.
This is such an awesome discussion. I love Simon Sinek, he explains concepts that could be considered complex and makes them understandable and not just that, you can relate you what he is saying. You find yourself nodding your head in agreement. You say " yeah I have thought that way before." You find yourself trusting him. He's a great speaker and I will be following him for a long time to come. Anyone from Virginia around? How about Maryland?
Fantastic talk. Simon is amazing, he pulls you in and leaves you with something so profound you just want to share it. I believe we are all created to give and help one another. Not out of expectation of receiving a favor or anything back but to truly give from our heart. It's nice to hear this
Aristotle told us: "We are what we do daily. So excellence isn't founded on only one excellent single action, it is a habit!" If you believe in excellence surround yourself with excellent people. People who really share your belief in excellence. And you will reach your goals ;-)
Okay.... If we talk about Aristotle we don't talk about one person, we talk about Philosophy. What is Philosophy? Philosophy is the endless search of man for truth and meaning. The search for wisdom in the end. Your words to me Sir sound more than a trial to overtake power over my thoughts. You talk to me more like a teacher or school principal than someone who will discuss with me on same level. It seems that you Sir will try to rule me who is right and who is wrong. That is the way how "authorities" talk to the "stupid". They are right and all the others are wrong! But what is truly right and what is truly wrong? What is really false and what is really true? If someone, like you Sir, comes to the opinion that Aristotle and all other great philosophers were totally wrong, it is a matter of fact for itself. I have to respect and accept it. His or hers opinion has a genesis created by own thinking based on a very special mix of his mindset. Founded on individual knowledge and life time experience. Our so called Individuality. So I have to respect your opinion. If I agree or disagree to your opinion or opposite is the result of an initialed process of understanding on both sides. Every woman and every man has a very special individual mindset. And I will tell you something: Everyone is right in sight of his or hers very own experiences and knowledge. His or hers truth or better reality. Finally we are not comparable were are individual. And we all have strengths and weaknesses. What for someone is a strength could be a weakness for someone else and the opposite. And to be successful and happy in life we are well consulted to surround us with people who are more clever to compensate our weaknesses than to struggle all the time with each other who has the same strengths to find/fight out who is the best. So I am tired to talk about final truth or final wisdom with someone. It is an endless game I don't want to play with anyone anymore. I respect your opinion. It is your very own way of thinking or sight onto the world. No-one has the right to judge that wrong. So I don't want to judge that in any way. Because your mind is not mine and mine isn't yours. But I will give you a last recommendation. Perhaps a different way to think to you Sir: Would you be able to change my mind over Aristotle or anyone else on the world without empathy and/or confidence? Is it really unnecessary to build a climate of respect and/or much better sympathy first? To increase the chance to get full attention of your guests to your speech and thoughts that way? I wish you Sir a very nice day and furthermore a happy life
Oh my god Simon I love you more everyday. You're genuine and relatable but so professional at the same time. You've inspired me beyond belief for years now and I can always count on your for a solid pick-me-up. Thank you, thank you more than you'll ever know ❤
It would be a much better world if people applied what this man is saying. Great scripture from the Bible touches on this. “I have shown you in all things that by working hard in this way, you must assist those who are weak and must keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus, when he said: ‘There is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving’”. (Acts 20:35)
My take away is the power of the spirit of generosity , doing things for others and just helping each other as human beings and above all Expecting Nothing in return. Its not just about those we help as it also makes us those who give better human beings. Great stuff
Two ideas really resonated with me. 1. He is absolutely correct about wanting to create a fake image so people will like us. I do believe when you find your true limitless Self, people will unquestionably be attracted to you. 2. It is also 100% true you will get a more satisfying life in service to others.
I am thinking about a new type of restaurants: eating-spots in eating-spots, food keeps changing, chefs also rotate this is opposed to current restaurants, thanks to this rotation of food and chefs, eating-spots are more powerful than restaurants, along with that, there is an app, people vote for the food that will be cooked in the next days menu is influenced by the live input of the people via an app
5:05 UNBELIEVABLE! This was an amazingly "EFFECTIVE IDEA" from Simon Sinek, shared with us back in 2012... If we only knew how effective this idea was going to be, back then!! But somebody did... Somebody ran with this idea and it worked! It's amazing, now that I think about it in 2020!
Simon makes sense about a lot of things, he breaks it down so effortlessly. Give someone a chance to prove you wrong or right about their existence.. #ExtendAHand
These words of wisdom have been literally important in my life. Thank u Simon sinek. Am watching yo videos and putting into action most of the items mentioned.
I'm watching this for the first time in 2020, sad, not a lot has changed. People need people, let's be there for one another, so simple! It's a selfish world we live in, I'm grateful for all the things we don't have!
1. Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you. Pray for them that spitefully use you and persecute you. 2. Love you neighbor as yourself. 3. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. 4. Give and it shall be given unto you, good measure, press down and shaken together and running over shall men give unto your bosom. For with the same measure that you met with all it shall be measured to you again.
+Pamela Johnson Its really hard to love your enemies at least from my perspective. What I've learned what works for me is SEE my enemies from God perspective.. Through his eyes.. This vantage point activates the God love within that's need to love them thereby expressing unconditional acts of love..remember you reap what you so so if you're sowing ego driven acts you will reap ego driven acts from other. Which is so important to make sure you're operating from a place of LOVE.. Thanks for reading..#staynlove
For me EGO is when we "Edge God Out" I do understand where you are coming from in seeing things through the eyes of God. Some times even that is hard in hard situations because of our SELF! EGO! I slip into SELF and then afterwords say "Damn this flesh" That knee jerk reaction jumps out before I can catch it. Then there is a lot of repenting and folllowing the ways restoration. But praise be to God He can redeem the times.
I agree! The key is to observe when we err and be grateful that we actually were present enough to see where we've missed it.. That's such a wonderful place to because it says to me that GOD loves us so much to continually teach us as we evolve.
+Pamela Johnson Well-Said. No better source than the Bible for Wisdom. I wish Simon would acknowledge that GOD gives him a feeling of goodness to be generous, rather than refer to Mother Nature. God! Praise be to God1 Give credit where credit belongs, Simon! Don't be afraid to call Him what He is. As we continue to edge Him out of every conversation as if saying "God" were worse than a swear, we exclude Him from our lives.
You let me also cry with the fishermen and hate your Seatmate! This is a new spirit of thinking that have an ancient roots in the hearts and souls of Human beings! Giving as experience of fulfillment! Understanding is also a kind of giving, what you can understand you can live it and feel it! Thanks.🙏🕯️🌷
Simon, you're a genious, simply because you are a warm person. ❤I can't believe I said that. Who ever says someone is a genious because they are warm? ❤It is because you taught me that warmth is genious. It begins with warmth, I now believe, then it goes on to everything you do to help us humans. With me, you never fail to give me the feeling of connection with other humans. It feels good. Thank you.❤
What I have learned in the last 3 month's from listening to Simon is amazing. The already positive work ethic and attitude I was able to get from my father has now been enforced and added to. It is so unfortunate that most people in small businesses, don't have these tools to work with. Such an untapped wealth of information...my eyes have never been more wide open than they are now. Such " great stuff"!!
"Если вы не понимаете людей - вы не понимаете бизнес". Говорите и делайте то, во что верите - это символы, которые показывают, кто вы есть. Мы ищем эти символы, чтобы найти людей, которые верят в то, во что верим мы. Когда есть общие ценности и цели, появляется доверие.
The saying, "it was so easy it was hard" is exactly what Simon does every time he opens his mouth. Each video I watch and each book I read is full of these "easy it was hard" aha moments. Thanks Simon, YOU rock!!!
Wonderful speech, personally I try to be as nice as I can to people, even if they aren't nice to me. And yes, that is kind of a dangerous thing to do, but I do it anyway. Just to feel that I am a good enough person. It is my choice to be good to others. People often ask me, why are you so nice, why are you doing this for me? And if it's a person I feel comfortable with or whom I just like, I tell them that I just feel like doing it. I feel like making their day. It's true, that when you give that homeless person money, you get a great feeling of accomplishment and pride inside yourself. Being generous even when you don't have that much to give is the most wonderful thing. People might even help you more. My point is, there's not point in being a greedy person. I once was that, I never wanted to give anyone anything, because it was mine. But I found the joy in giving people something of me. It makes me happy to see them happy. Have a great day!
They were looking for ways to make more money. Simon was trying to explain that some things are more important than money. They just didn't get it. Either very cold people or freezing IQs.
God I LOVE this talk! Simon is just brilliant here, weaving in core concepts that make business and humanity inextricable intertwined. “Make it about Them.” Live and love with a Spirit of Generosity. This is when our efforts truly bear fruit and fulfilment comes before we even get paid for doing what we do. 🌟💖✨
I have listened to several of your presentations and they are absolutely awesome. You add flesh to the Law of authenticity and remind us that our true worth is indeed dependent on the value we give to each human interaction. Blessings.
+Austin Catmull Most people would be quite happy to do things for others with no expectation of reward. Just eliminate the "no good deed goes unpunished" scenarios. Not so easy....
Simon's insight is priceless, and his delivery of the information is creative and fluid, which makes it highly comprehendible. When I want brain food, I turn to Simon Sinek.
Thank you for this video. I've been feeling so bad about my life. I love to be nice and helpful to others without think about reward But more I do to the others, they just paid me bad, I just wanna stop to caring others. But this video made me to be calm. Now I feel O.k to keep caring others. Thank you 🤗🤗🤗
Wow, this presentation was done 6 years ago according to the date on TH-cam, but still so vivid today. Amazing what you said, amazing. I could be listening to you for hours and hours. I am a huge fan of yours.
I met a guy at the gym... it was like: hey I am from there !! And he was like hey I was there! I m from there! And we spent 45min working out and talking about where we came from.... And I am watching this now... that makes sense!
This gentleman is truly a genius. The Real life encounters as he says teach us a lot. He presents it so well we love to hear him again and again. God bless him with long life with such continued enchanting speech.
So not cookie cutter. So not used car salesman. A cut above in thought provocative, useful, insightful. Worth the watch several times so you don't miss anything & absorb yet another useful point.
"We all have our certain strengths, and we all have our certain weaknesses. And the goal is not to fix your weaknesses. The goal is to amplify your strengths and surround yourself with the people who can do what you can't do." =profound!
i love the part about the plain and the fact you wrote right away. i like all the perspective and share it as well. i am an entrepreneur and woman business owner myself. I want to share your message with my partner; my husband. I have to battle him with my over serotonin productions. He is much like the lady on the plain and THE LEADER... that everyone sees, at least. Its tough! I started a used car dealership 5 years ago with less than 10k, and I will take all the inspiration I can get.
Amazing presentations. I saw some of your presentations but now I am decided to buy your books. The message you are trying to spread really resonates with me, and with the company I am about to start. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I find Simon as a very insightful person, he understands the human heart which is why people can relate to him. In this clip, I really like the flight story, it reminds me of what humility is all about and treating others with respect.
If I have to describe this guy, that would be my muse, I read and watch him all the time and I can not even blink my eyes with so much he offers with his life experience.
My Dad used to work on boats back in the day, each time he would read news about a boat going down, you would see it in his face. The symbol was right there, clearly I never saw as such, but I fully understand it.
A very inspiring message. In my experience in corporate world here in the Philippines, I never experienced this kind of feeling where management values the real meaning of this very important asset that the company have. About time that this message be heard by all management role and apply it religiously so that one day we all have an amazing world.
So true when we give with kindness it makes the world a better place i love listening to you your video is so inspiring and truthful god bless you and continue to give you wisdom
This gentleman is spot on...it's all about people and feeling. I just had my tenth anniversary...not because of the money...because of my team. I drive 45min to work not for the money...because of the friendships I have built with my teammates. If it were not for them...I would not be there.
I read his books (Start With Why, and Leaders Eat Last) and I watched many of his speech. He changed my life. This is a great person and I think many people would agree if I say that WE need more people like Simon!
+MRZsiir Me Too. Thanks! Simon
I strongly agreed :) Thanks to him, opened my mind
he was affect to many people like me :D
This person makes me realised what mistakes i have made in the past, how negative i think sometimes, and how good i can be justing my reacting differently on certain occasions. He has changed my thinking all together. God bless him.
Great video
*Values. Generosity. Humanity.* SO appreciate Simon Sinek's message "100% of customers are people. 100% of clients are people. 100% of employees are people. Make it about THEM. Not about you. Love his talk!

As always, Simon is one of my favorite speakers. I enjoy people who make me stop and consider my own reason 'why'.
Aristotle told us: "We are what we do daily. So excellence isn't founded on only one excellent single action, it is a habit!"
If you believe in excellence surround yourself with excellent people.
People who really share your belief in excellence.
And you will reach your goals ;-)
Agreed 😊
Be careful quoting Aristotle, almost everything he thought was wrong
Because Sokrates knows that he knows nothing ;-)
And you Sir? Do you really got omnipotent to judge wisdom that way? ;-)
Comliance we were talking about Aristotle... not Socrates

I respect your opinion. It is your very own way of thinking or sight onto the world. No-one has the right to judge that wrong. So I don't want to judge that in any way. Because your mind is not mine and mine isn't yours.
But I will give you a last recommendation. Perhaps a different way to think to you Sir:
Would you be able to change my mind over Aristotle or anyone else on the world without empathy and/or confidence?
Is it really unnecessary to build a climate of respect and/or much better sympathy first? To increase the chance to get full attention of your guests to your speech and thoughts that way?
I wish you Sir a very nice day and furthermore a happy life

It would be a much better world if people applied what this man is saying. Great scripture from the Bible touches on this. “I have shown you in all things that by working hard in this way, you must assist those who are weak and must keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus, when he said: ‘There is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving’”. I am thinking about a new type of restaurants: eating-spots
in eating-spots, food keeps changing, chefs also rotate
this is opposed to current restaurants,
thanks to this rotation of food and chefs, eating-spots are more powerful than restaurants,
along with that, there is an app,
people vote for the food that will be cooked in the next days
menu is influenced by the live input of the people via an app
Without knowing it Simon has helped my business grow into what it is today! Thank you so much for your inspiration Simon!

I agree! The key is to observe when we err and be grateful that we actually were present enough to see where we've missed it.. That's such a wonderful place to because it says to me that GOD loves us so much to continually teach us as we evolve.
Sanctification :) What a wonderful gift!!!
Thanks.🙏🕯️🌷
This is the foundation of a great person.
Thank you.❤
This guy is brilliant.

That's a fact. @22 - Gold
we can't said any better
Thank you so much for the wonderful message God Bless you really grateful 🙏❤️❤️💪🏿💪🏿
Optimal pitch for all people:
"If you only give once a month, please think of me next time."
This video is without doubt the best I’ve ever seen on TH-cam. I wish I was there for the full expirience
This guy is off the hook. I like what he stands for. Thank you!
The spirit of generosity, we all need it.
There are 80 heartless people who disliked this??? 😫 I loved every minute of this talk.
They were looking for ways to make more money. Simon was trying to explain that some things are more important than money. They just didn't get it. Either very cold people or freezing IQs.
I was getting chills watching this and it was the 3rd time watching this.
This is so relevant right now in 2020...if you didn't before, you will rethink 'social distancing' after 23 minutes as a way to 'protect our selves'.
Insightful, passionate and convincing. Watch this, you will become better because of it.
Awesome talk. Imagine a world where more people lived like this.
Best speech I heard from Simon Sineck.
It’s not Mother Nature, it is God who guide us to love our neighbour , as we love ourselves.
I have listened to several of your presentations and they are absolutely awesome. You add flesh to the Law of authenticity and remind us that our true worth is indeed dependent on the value we give to each human interaction. Blessings.
That point Simon makes at 19:20 -- WOW!! Mind blowing!
Around 15:00--"I'll have the cereal." Wow, that seat mate had NO empathy whatsoever. Great story.
Thank you for this video. I've been feeling
so bad about my life. I love to be nice and
helpful to others without think about reward
But more I do to the others, they just paid me bad, I just wanna stop to caring others.
But this video made me to be calm. Now
I feel O.k to keep caring others. Thank you 🤗🤗🤗
Simon is great. I'm so happy I found him. I wish more of his talks would go viral, maybe, just maybe the world will be more sane.
It's so simple. If we understand Human Behavior, we will lead a peaceful and successful life.
+Jess Markowitz Sharing the Journey. Well than, come to think off that we still don't understand Human Behavior. Humans still killing humans...
Wow, this presentation was done 6 years ago according to the date on TH-cam, but still so vivid today. Amazing what you said, amazing. I could be listening to you for hours and hours. I am a huge fan of yours.
I really enjoyed learning from Simon Sinek. I'll start by working on personal relationships, can't wait to reap the rewards.
“Let’s do a study to find out how to be more authentic. That’s hilarious to me.” But when Simon does it it’s inspiring
Simon Sinek for President! 💜
Thanks for sharing
understanding people is good, but the first thing for running the successful business need to understand yourself first.
Kosal Panharith understanding people and understanding yourself are two sides of the same coin

So fantastic! Amplify your strengths and ask for help with what you cannot with trustworthy individuals!
Simon always has a way with talking from the heart. love the story at the end of the fisherman in the water.
I met a guy at the gym... it was like: hey I am from there !! And he was like hey I was there! I m from there! And we spent 45min working out and talking about where we came from....
And I am watching this now... that makes sense!
Love this guy and his speeches. Really enlightening.
Thank you SImon!
This gentleman is truly a genius. The Real life encounters as he says teach us a lot. He presents it so well we love to hear him again and again. God bless him with long life with such continued enchanting speech.
Mind blowing speech. You inspired me sir. Hope that the world will become more 'human' one day. I will try to be 'myself' and attract more good people
Please add subtitles for his speech. His speech is so valuable..
One of the most inspriing talk I've ever heard. Thanks Simon!
So not cookie cutter. So not used car salesman. A cut above in thought provocative, useful, insightful. Worth the watch several times so you don't miss anything & absorb yet another useful point.
My son told me to watch his videos... ! give him credit.
This is a great video. Simon has an interesting outlook on business. I love it!
3 years on after upload and this is just one of the best talks I've found. Simon has some very educational and insightful speeches. One of the best!
"We all have our certain strengths, and we all have our certain weaknesses. And the goal is not to fix your weaknesses. The goal is to amplify your strengths and surround yourself with the people who can do what you can't do."
=profound!
Amazing message! !! Thank you.
i love the part about the plain and the fact you wrote right away. i like all the perspective and share it as well. i am an entrepreneur and woman business owner myself.
Thank you for your willingness to share this free! Awesome talk!
Amazing presentations. I saw some of your presentations but now I am decided to buy your books. The message you are trying to spread really resonates with me, and with the company I am about to start.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
"I could have given this conference online ... Would it have been the same? No."
Me watching this on TH-cam : Errmmm...
The same as well for me
Love it!
I find Simon as a very insightful person, he understands the human heart which is why people can relate to him. In this clip, I really like the flight story, it reminds me of what humility is all about and treating others with respect.
I love this guy! Totally trust him as part of my tribe!
If I have to describe this guy, that would be my muse, I read and watch him all the time and I can not even blink my eyes with so much he offers with his life experience.
he's a great thinker. and a great man! thanks to him!
Possibly the best speech I’ve ever listened to. Simon sinek, you are my spirit animal 🙏
Around 15:00--"I'll have the cereal." Wow, that seat mate had NO empathy whatsoever. Great story.
And This is the only advice i needed to be happy with myself and the decision's I take. Thank you Simon Sinek.
I like the story at the end about the guy being rescued
I love watching this video. Simon Sinek is awesome
This is such home hitting monologue. Totally hit it on the head with this one. Good job Simon!
My Dad used to work on boats back in the day, each time he would read news about a boat going down, you would see it in his face. The symbol was right there, clearly I never saw as such, but I fully understand it.
this made my cry, especialy the arguments abouy generosity. now i can understand how happy i am
fishermen part definitely tears me up
A very inspiring message. In my experience in corporate world here in the Philippines, I never experienced this kind of feeling where management values the real meaning of this very important asset that the company have. About time that this message be heard by all management role and apply it religiously so that one day we all have an amazing world.
I’m the type of person that gets up to go talk to people at work, not many people like that. They’d rather get an email. It’s tough out there.
Generosity of spirit = fulfillment; words are no truer today than 10 yrs ago; Simon Sinek, THANK YOU!
"the only way of feeling fulfilled is to do something for someone else!"-Simon Sinek
So true when we give with kindness it makes the world a better place i love listening to you your video is so inspiring and truthful god bless you and continue to give you wisdom
This is amazing! Thank you.
This is absolutely the best motivational video on TH-cam i’ve ever seen.
Love listening to Simon, he's tells it like it is in such a simply thought provoking way.
This gentleman is spot on...it's all about people and feeling. I just had my tenth anniversary...not because of the money...because of my team. I drive 45min to work not for the money...because of the friendships I have built with my teammates. If it were not for them...I would not be there.
