  • Detachment is easier said than done. Why do we cling so tightly, and what is the best method for letting go?

@@ms.amazed I decided to stay single and focus on my six year old twins when their mother. I've had major surgery I broke my right arm on Easter Sunday 2019 I thought I just lost my left eye and when I couldn't feel it with my finger I said at least I went 44 years with two and refused to suffer and stopped trying and let everything go leaving it to fate. I can't begin to tell you the change your videos have made in my life. This video in particular was the one that blew me away....I've been struggling with a bad breakup from a girl i love dearly. I couldn't understand why it was so hard to let go of her and the fantasy of the relationship I had in my mind. When you said that the suffering Is found not in the letting go, but in the holding on...I felt such a massive shift in my perspective and such an overwhelming sense of peace flood through me that I lack the words to give it justice. You are doing great things for the world. Please keep it up. Thank you. So much.

@@ericaawake9503 Hi. I've been going through exactly the same since a month ago. Yes, ofc it's hard. I've noticed that some days it's harder and some days less hard, and I cant actually understand why it is like that. Let's say, for example, that the second week was way less unbearable than the fourth, which I found strange... I constantly observe myself and my thoughts, emotions, reactions. I suggest you do the same. Did you ask yourself those questions proposed in this helpful video? Especially: why are you holding on?
Also, I wanted to thank to the creator of the videos as I found myself enjoying and listening several of them in a row 😁 I'm just a new fan, discovering the content.

Sadly it rarely does. Giving people permission to hate or disappoint me has been the most freeing thing. I don’t fight life anymore. Radical self-acceptance can be painful, but liberating. I just say “You’re right, goodbye”. I can’t control anyone! Once you evict people to living rent free in your mind you find peace 😌✨

Not true to people who cannot and hate letting go; it's repressive and destructive to more than enough unless you know why and practice what you're believing not just potentially abiding by aphorisms that promote or supposedly promote self acceptance. That we are fighting not ever against doesn't give us a reason to let go of anything, particularly. It gives us a reason it should, to know why we must. Not just for the sake of it as a truism.

Humans need attachments to make their lives meaningful. It is the suffering and obstacles that provide spiritual and emotional growth, and not something you should hide from. Detachment is just one step away from leaving physical reality. By living in detachment, you have one foot in the physical world and the other foot in the spiritual world, not truly alive or dead. I find that when i live without attachment, I become more isolated, and care lesser for people and things.

I like how he explains attachment can be how we see ourselves not just attached to things or another person. Attachment can be to your own beauty for example. This is dangerous as we all age or can become ill. So what becomes of this persons thoughts and emotions as their beauty inevitably fades

Thank you for addressing that attachment is something to be understood, not ignored. Trying to be mindful of your existence underneath, while helps to shift the focus, doesn't allow for growth of understanding why we are suffering. So, instead of avoiding suffering or trying to be "mindful" about placing your attention elsewhere, it is great to hear about placing your attention on what we are actually doing to ourselves. Feeling our own discomfort, giving ourselves a chance to explore this in order to understand, thereby finding or trying to understand why we are suffering to begin with instead of shifting attention away from this.

That is why sometimes the holding on is because we are repeating the same lesson. I am now moving forward to the next chapter in my life. I surrender all attachments to people, places or things that no longer serve a positive place in my life. Amen. Thank you Jesus. Namaste ❤️🙏❤️

And the response was: I can’t control myself! Therefore, my conclusion was that I shouldn’t control myself. After this I began to notice in a lot of different aspects of my life that I have this need for control. I do not know how I continue, but I guess I just have to be patient.

I usually think my attachment is to life or separateness and sometimes I feel like I will stop existing if if I let go. Maybe my attatchment is to multiple perspectives or validation. I sometimes think I am attached to love. My understanding gets very paradoxical and I am led to believe I am crazy by others but they seem transparent to me. I don't know much about spirituality and have been a militant athiest up until recently. All that I feel is true is that perception exist. I have issues with self doubt but they seem to be working themselves out naturally. Religious trauma from childhood and having to rely on my discernment has been challenging. I had a sudden flood of awareness but I have questioned if it is spiritual or just psychological or if it even matters. Experiencing my biggest fears had me wishing I was delusional at times. Your videos "ironically" validate my experience. Thank you for posting them.

I just got emotional just listening to your advice. I’ve been in quite a predicament for about 2 years, and I believe my issue is due to my own insecurities, thinking that I have to help people, in order to be loved. Which isn’t entirely wrong in itself, but it’s come to a point I felt used, but I couldn’t walk away from the person. In a way, I don’t hate the person, since we communicate our concerns with one another. I just don’t want to feel drawn to him anymore, and I’ve tried pushing him away, only to be even more drawn in.
It’s tough for both of us, but hopefully at some point we will both figure our own way.

hi meow i feel for you its hard and sad time to go thru break up,first thing you have to learn right now is to distancing yourself from your past memories that you gatherd in your head.your memory should be a platform you stand upon to reach out for something higher, not a trap you sink in to..dont worry you diserve better ..🙋👌👍🌻

I just recently realized people with unrealistic/unreasonable thought process might have had an advantage to survive, cuz most of our choices are unreasonable yet we survived. Maybe lower suicide rate compared to reasonable people + higher assessment of oneself to boost the confidence which is pretty damn helpful to be successful?

I don’t make effort , I want only take distance from toxic relation, and to continue to hear you,
But sometimes I have things to do, and I trays to solve them, and then I have sad mode,
And I tray to rest a little bit, and I want to have less hours in TH-cam, because it’s

Strong attachment is from trauma & great loss. One must grieve & or work through the trauma or issues, if possible. The fear is more perceived loss of more of one’s soul! This is my experience. I’m not sure which is the illusion...as there is The Ladder Exercise which when done, proves to the practicer that one does actually have control by directing one’s imagination! So...I’m a bit confused by this, as I was successful when I proved thoughts with emotions do become one’s reality as did E.O Locker, Jr. , student of Neville Goddard back in the day. It’s on YT.

Thank you for that video, it was really inspiring. I have a long way to go before letting go of attachment but your video definitely helped me and gave me some keys to understand why do I need attachment and control. I'm gonna try thinking about it and answer these questions. Thanks for your content 🙏🤗

When you learn this you will get power on how to open ur heart while you in pain this is not a joke. First you need welcoming the root of attachment welcoming is accecpt because we live in this world not to be the best but to live what is already written and letting go ( no effort) bcs you know this is the world rules. Then you will laugh and happy at it, this is dangerous state , people will see you are stronger and attractive. In Alquran say may god be pleased or redha. Bcs everything already created by god from you are born until you die everything is written .

In the teachings of the Buddha, wisdom does arise,
    Three characteristics, profound and wise.
Let me weave them in verses, clear and true,
Impermanence, suffering, and non-self, I'll share with you.
Impermanence, the dance of life's embrace,
Like shifting sands, it leaves no trace.
From dawn to dusk, and season to season,
All things change, without rhyme or reason.
    Flowers bloom, then fade away,
As night turns to dawn, and day to gray.
    With every breath, moments fleet,
Impermanence reminds us, life is sweet.
Suffering, the noble truth we face,
In trials and tribulations, we find our place.
From physical pain to the ache within,
Suffering weaves a thread, where all begin.
    Attachments bind, desires give birth,
Yet suffering teaches, the depths of our worth.
Through compassion's embrace, we find release,
In understanding suffering, our hearts find peace.
Non-self, the illusion of a separate "me",
A profound teaching that sets us free.
No fixed identity, no soul to claim,
We're but a ripple in the cosmic game.
Connected we are, in this grand tapestry,
    No separate self, just interdependency.
    Non-self reveals unity's sweet embrace,
As we let go, we find our place.
    Impermanence, suffering, and non-self,
In these teachings, the Buddha's wisdom dwells.
    Through understanding, compassion takes flight,
    Guiding us towards liberation's light.
So let us contemplate these truths profound,
In each moment's whisper, let their essence resound.
With wisdom and love, let our hearts unfurl,
Embracing impermanence, suffering, and non-self in this precious world.

It's almost like I don't like people to be around me for long because I do get attached and then they aren't around and I feel a loss of something. Why is this? I am trying to not be so attached and I'm working on this. Any help with videos is are appreciated. Thanks this video helped me understand and being patient with myself and understanding the why I feel forced made me understand what it is with this at this current time. I'm ok with knowing why and I can smile and say maybe the next time I won't let attachment get under my skin. Peace
