    5 months in and it started squeaking. Followed tutorial, and so far so good. Used lithium grease, namely Silesia Oil ŁT-4 EP 2 (from local PL company). Worked flawlessly. It also rotates smoother, bonus points.
    Just when he says pay attention to washers - actually do pay attention, there is few of them ones around bearing probably will have bearing use marks (like groves / engravements), silver on top. Rubber thing goes all the way down, and washer w/o bearing marks goes straight after rubber one..

    • @Extermicide
      @Extermicide  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, If the squeak is coming from your butt - then sure. But petroleum-jelly will do very little to alleviate the problem in the piston. Might solve it temporarily, but not for very long (if at all).

    For all those wondering. If you don't have grease, motor oil worked for me. Not sure if that is considered a good practice, but if you are desperate and don't mind to experiment - motor oil from the bottle for your car or motorcycle will do the trick.

    • @Extermicide

      I would take it apart as shown in this video, and check that your BIG THICK WASHER is in good shape. If its damaged, or you think the rocker or piston is actually damaged, then contact SecretLab. In my experience, they will do what they need to to help you get the problem solved/fixed.

    Won't this invalidate the warranty in case you actually need it? i am currently discussing with secretlab about this on a titan chair.. after multiple discutions and endless proof videos they decided to replace the hydraulic piston.

    • @Extermicide
      @Extermicide  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, it will not invalidate the warranty.. To be honest, they would rather you be able to fix the problem yourself. But like i said concerning mine, i sent them the pictures, and showed them this video, and they sent me a new piston to correct the problem. They seem to just want proof that you own their chair before they start sending you parts.

    wait, that is not going to fix the lumbar support squeaks tho ? right?

    • @Extermicide
      @Extermicide  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No.... that is a whole different issue. Secretlab suggests to people (to solve this) to 'EXTEND THE LOMBAR ALL THE WAY OUT', and then 'RAISE and LOWER it all the way several times' to stretch it out. This corrected the problem for me like a charm. The only thing I would keep in mind is that if your adjusting your lumbar, lean forward a little bit to get your body weight off of it while you make adjustments. If you are leaned back while making the adjustments, you will put too much pressure on the lumbar while you move it, and could damage it internally. Lean forward, adjust, lean back, see how it feels, lean forward, adjust some more, lean back, see how it feels.

      @Extermicide That's awesome. Years ago I had called them because some stitching started to come undone due to the way I was sitting. They told me that they don't cover damage through normal wear, which was fair, I just didn't expect that the way I was sitting was what caused it. After that, they sent me an entire replacement seat base. It was the last day of my warranty. They could have done nothing at all, and I wouldn't have had a single justifiable reason to be mad, but they went and won me over instead. Glad to hear you had a similar experience and that they haven't changed for the worse!

      @@DarkDay2012 I have nothing bad to say about their support. If anything, I'd say they go a little "over board" (like sending me a whole new piston to replace a damaged rubber washer). I'm actually surprised (and happy) that they took care of you in that fashion. I would expect them to fix an INTERNAL PISTON PROBLEM, but exterior wear-n-tear, that surprises me - but again makes me happy to see that they go above and beyond.

    • @Extermicide
      @Extermicide  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the chair "WON'T" soften up. It is designed to be this firmness. You have to give your body a chance to adjust to this firmness, ESPECIALLY if in the past you have used nothing but CUSHY EXECUTIVE type chairs. And if your body doesn't adjust, that's ok, everyone's body is different, and this might not be the chair for your body.

    • @Extermicide
      @Extermicide  ปีที่แล้ว

      Does not surprise me. The lack of grease in the piston to begin with could have been easily taken care of on their end - and i'm sure putting a little more grease into the piston from the start would have been cheaper for them then to replace the whole piston for people. Hell, you would think they could have sent just the rubber washer (would have still been cheaper)... But regardless, I must say that I am impressed with their speedy customer service in solving the problem.

CLEAN them atleast with a tissue, also the mettal washers are the gliding surface for the ballbearings make shure the grove ist pointing towards the plastik thingi
