  • I get asked often "Why don't you go with a Secretlab Office chair?" and "Can you review a Secretlabs Gaming Chair plsssplspls????"
    WELL, Here's why I choose not to. They look great, they have a crazy big market, but as a big guy who likes great gear without the price tag, NOT FOR ME!
    I've reviewed other chairs I can vouch for, go check em out.
    If you agree, disagree, like it, hate it, let me know in the comments!
    As always, if you enjoy my content, don't forget to sub,
    Peace x

    I noticed a lot of the reviewers conveniently just do not remark on the comfort, and focus on the materials, look, and features more than anything. Glad to have seen this video.

    Honestly, the only reason I got a Secretlab chair is specifically because of their cloth options. I am sick and tired of every f****** chair having leather or leatherette (fake leather) as it ALWAYS peels! I don't have the time to babysit my chair afraid that is going to start peeling. I have had so many leather/leatherette chairs and they peel within a year. I have had my cloth Secretlab for gosh... like 4 years? It's been so long.. and it looks BRAND NEW! So I justified the fact that I wouldn't be buying a new chair every year by getting a cloth Secretlab. It should be noted I do spend like all day in my chair, I use it for pretty much everything from gaming to remote work.
    At the time the cheapest option for cloth I could find is Secretlab along with the hype made me go for it. I don't regret it even though it was spendy mainly because of the warranty. My chair came with a small defect and they sent me a whole new chair and let me keep my original. Since I was happy with the original I was like heck yeah, now I have two chairs. I will say customer experience will vary as you said in the video. It really just depends.
    So yeah, if ANY other company offered a NICE cloth chair for a cheaper price I totally would have gone with someone else, the brand doesn't really matter to me.

    I had been tempted on the secret labs chairs for a few years but found Boulies during the summer last year and spent the next few months browsing between them trying to decide, the low price was making me think low quality. I found your review on the elite last October and took the plunge, got the Master chair and I have never regretted it, It shipped to Scotland in four days. Now after three and 1/2 months of 6+ hours a day usage it still looks like when it came out the box. My only gripe was how hard the arm rests are but I got some memory foam covers from amazon for a tenner and still had enough of my chair budget cash left to get me a new 144hz monitor.

      That's class to hear! It's awesome when my reviews spur on someone to get something and it pays off! I never really noticed the armrests. Guess I've probably just grown used to them. But that's exactly why I always say if you can get the same features for cheaper, always do as you can get more tech with the leftover 😍😁

    Boullies is not available where I live (Netherlands), but other brands are, like Arozzi, AK-Racing, Sharkoon, Corsair, Noble Chairs, and ofcourse Secret Labs and DX Racer. I'm 194cm (6'4" ft) and weigh 110kg (220lbs). I'm on the chubby side, but trying to lose weight. Although my shoulders are naturally very broad measuring 56cm (22") wide. Do you have experience with any of the other brands I mentioned? What would you recommend?

    I have a 2020 Titan and have had premature seams split on the seat pan and had to replace the arms rests twice due to spitting along the inside edges. Problem is, their customer support is very bad, hard to deal with and then they sent the wrong arm rests which required me to drill into the frame to mount properly. I won't be getting a new one mostly due to lack of customer support but the quality didn't hold up in my opinion for the cost.

    Don't like the fact they charge you returning shipping fees if you don't like the chair and want to return it. How else is someone meant to try out their chairs if they're online only?

  • @colonelinfernal5004
    @colonelinfernal5004 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I own the 2020 charcoal titan and was expecting alot more comfort for its price. Its like sitting on a chair made of plywood. I even removed the arm rests because they didn't go low enough for me. I'm above the height requirement for the titan so there's really no excuse for its lack of comfort. The lumbar support looks better on the 2022 model but I believe the padding material is the main issue. It's too stiff.

  • @HellPhone
    @HellPhone ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I guess now in 2021-2023 my experience with their service is great, I have had nothing but good experiences, they respond pretty quickly and they are easy to get a hold of , they seem to have replaced everything that broke on my chair. chair is comfy as is in my opinion. I got a TITAN 2020 ver. and Got one for the wife. it was about 400 US$ per Chair and it all came in reasonably fast. So I don't know about all this. Non of it seem to match my experience. And I guess the subjective stuff like if the cushiness are too firm is something that really depends on the perspective of each person.

      @@Sr2Media Well I just don't like the "Gamingseat" like wings on the seat on either the elite or the Ninja pro and I looked into them after this video. But it is just something I can't sit comfortable in.
      It's the same reason why I would never buy the Omega chair von Secretlab as well.
      The price is nice but in that price range are enough other chairs for you to choose from but they all have those sidewalls.
      Okay Boulies has the master chair but that isn't sold in Europe/Germany and after paying taxes twice and the shipping cost (not to mention the time I have to wait), I'm at the same price of an Titan Evo chair.
      Buying a chair if your body type isn't the norm is just difficult and I wish there where more or at all shops where you can sit in those gaming/office chairs and just get a first feel for how you sit in in. Longtherm is just another story.
      And that brings me to the firmness of the chair and while it is firm it isn't uncomfortable, it takes a while till it fits your bottom. But I can also why why those lightweight girls need a cushion because they never really get to that point. And that's a problem I simply don't have with my 6'3'' and my 290lbs. And most chairs only support up to 250 or 300 LBS (the Boulies Elite only up to 240 and the Ninja pro 300lbs) but I don't like being on the upper spectrum of those recommended weights and rather have some room to play with. Which is why I chose the Titan XL back then and the Titan XL Evo 2022 last month, both with fabricweave and my old chair was given to my brother in law and I can say the improvements are nice but I wouldn't recommend going to the newer model if you already own the older one.
      But at the end of the day everyone has their preferances and chair debates are as exhausting as what genre of music is the best etc..

    After a few years (got the game of thrones omega one in 2019 and it was also like a month-long wait because of the preorders) and it has been a disaster. I am 5'1 and recently got a new desk as well, so no matter how I adjust the chair, or myself, I am still stuck with immense pain in my back and shoulders, and now in my arms apparently. Even when I put the chair all the way down, my feet do not fully touch the floor. Currently using an empty GPU box as a foot stool and no armrests. Every review I have seen is not that brutally honest (seems like the company likes to delete comments on the reddit pages as an example) and I'm not sure where to go from here honestly. I could have lived with the "firmness" of the chair, but now I can barely sit in the chair for even a few hours and I have noticed it has been causing me pain even when sleeping in my bed. If you are considering this chair... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE test it out someway before getting it. The box was 'hugh mungus' and a pain to store/break apart. (If you know any good affordable and adjustable chairs for someone who is 5'1 please let me know!

    Won't down vote the vid, but secretlab fixed my tailbone and neurological pain. I disagree that the price point isn't worth what you get. Bf has omega and i have the new titan. Most comfy chairs I've ever sat in. Had a Killabee chair for ~$150 and that thing is trash for what it costs. At least secretlab feels like the ~$500 USD it costs. We're out of quarantine now though so idk if your review still stands on that part.
    Just kind of commenting in reply as the review plays. The new titan comes in a few sizes, we just recently ordered the regular size, and it fits me despite my height being one inch below recommended (my legs are long so it works out fine). New version has multiple hardware adjustment settings compared to the omega and old titan. The solid issue is mainly a breaking in situation, once you break in the foam it's not so bad, but obviously it's up to preference. Killabee i needed a butt pillow, secretlab is fine lol. Bf omega chair still looks the same as first day btw, that fabric rules.
    At the end of the day, it comes down to preference. I do agree that if you can pass on a lower price point, do it! But I have a congenital joint issue so secret lab does the trick and saves my joints. :) Otherwise obviously buy a cheaper chair.

    I've had the omega for 2 years now. I have countless postural problems. and i can hardy stand up anymore because my glutes have completely fucked off. now i have scoliosis. avoid this iron maiden like the plague. nothing ergonomic about this thing. forward head, slumped shoulders, the seat pan is ever so slightly tilted upwards in the "neutral" position. so say goodbye to your knees, your quads will cement into knotted tree trunks. "Racing" seats are designed to keep you inside a fast car instead of hanging out the window. they serve no purpose in an office/room

When products get overhyped they begin to draw in customers who were not their initial target demographic, and those people will probably be more likely to be less satisfied with their purchase as it was probably an impulse buy driven by the hype.
      But the experience for someone who is bigger and heavier, for whom which the chair was primarily engineered for, is probably going to be a lot more enjoyable and will probably value the chair higher and less likely to regret the purchase imo.
