The issue with AMD gaming laptops this generation has been the lack of availability at anything other than scalping prices.
laptops have been in high demand for obvious reasons so it makes sense, i havent seen much scalping tho
@@glizzystrapzz laptop prices haven't been too insane at the top end, but try to find a 4500U laptop for less than $500. 4500U laptops should sell every day for $399 to $450 yet most are going for around $599.

I just got my Tracer V delivered. So far, so excellent! Has an Intel i7 11800H CPU w/ 32GB RAM and an RTX 3080 GPU, 17.3 in. 2560 x 1440 x 165Hz display. What a difference from my other CyberPower Fangbook IV I've had since 2016. That one still works fantastic. Now that one is a MSI notebook with CyberPower name. Not sure if I'm going to keep it as a back up. We'll see... I just needed a little more oomph.

Yes battery life does suck. But only if you're using it to run Sony Vegas or streaming in general. The battery is eaten up quick. Or you get decent power time when using for taking notes on Word or OneNote. I overall love my Tracer Edge IV laptop.
Update on Battery Life: I get about 7 hours of battery longevity when I change Power Plan to Maximum Battery Life. It is a beast!
I have a computer repair shop and over the last 12 years the only real issue I see with these “odm” laptop is the build quality of the hinges where they attach to the chassis or top lid. Then trying to get repair parts - forget about it. You can get more performance for your buck but then you skimp on build quality and the laptop doesn’t last as long. Great review
This is my issue. I have a broken key. I literally can’t get a replacement. No one seems to carry the right ones and Tech support at Cyberpower is awful. I very clearly explained my situation and they want me to send it in to them to fix. I can’t go weeks without my machine and I’ve replaced keys before. I simply asked how I can get a replacement key and you’d think I asked for the Holy Grail. They were no help at all. Unbelievable.
I cant get my videos to render any faster than the length of the video it self, often it's a little bit longer, assuming it does crash on me while rendering in the first place. A 30min video will take me about 35 minutes, I'm using a Ryzen 7 3700X, 32GB RAM, with a 2070 Super.

The Lenovo Y540 or Legion 5 laptops are pretty decent in terms of specs and price.

@@itzzaland7844 there are ryzen variants. Plus, depending on the 2060 model it could be identical to 1660Ti or 5-10% faster.

Why don't you build a mini ITX system instead? Something like the Ghost S1, NCase M1, Dancase A4, FormD T1, all would hover around the 10-15L system footprint, which should be transportable, even in a carry-on luggage or backpack. All that is needed is then some peripherals and monitor.
All u need is a monitor. Lol.
Some of these TongFang builds are really nice for the price, honestly. I have the OverPowered laptop from a few years ago, 8750H and full 1060 6GB, only complaint is how loud it gets when cooling it. But man, very good to travel with for a lot of power on the go, would only replace when Zen 3 mobile hits laptops with either mobile 3000 series nVidia cards or Navi 2.
That battery life is similar to my HP Compaq 6820s 17" laptop from 2008.

In fact, it runs better than my $3,500 PC ran when it was first built. Bet you money I don't hate this laptop to the point where I tear it apart with my bare hands and throw it in the trash, like I did with my Macbook. (Only computer I've ever thrown away.)

My temps are high on this at 85 average for gpu and around 86 for cpu
The only one I could afford is the TRACER IV R 15 SLIM 100 and 200.... the 300 and 400 are over priced to be honest but getting the 100 or 200 is good for me has long has they play resident evil HD remastered without lagging And the slow motion of the characters I’m fine lol

I have the Tracer IV Model 1 C Series. Battery was advertised as 7-10 hours. In the beginning, I got three hours tops. Now, a year later, it won't hold a charge more than an hour. Can't find what kind of replacement battery to buy anywhere online and the company won't answer my messages. Anyone know what kind of battery it takes?
Does anyone know how many hours this battery would last with light tasks and heavy tasks?

I have this laptop and I'm liking it. In late 2021 I can play call of duty vanguard over 130 frames. Only thing is the battery sucks
I was looking into getting this from WootWare over here in South Africa but this video ultimately left me disappointed. Hopefully they consider using the TongFang QC7 chassis in their 2021 WootBooks, I’d pick one up on day one!

Mine doesn't have amd but instead has an Intel i7 9750H Gen 9 made specific for power consumption but the main focus is trying to utilize both the CPU GPU and PROCESSORS units,I've had nothing but great experience with the tracer 300 Evo 3 2070Max-Q it's pretty custom the only glitch I've had are HDMI screen disconnects,Intel screensaver setting related shut downs mid game that I can't fix since setting with Intel windows 10 have always been choppy ...

Seems like a decent laptop, but wth were they thinking with that battery even with extra space for a 90w battery.
The ODM, TongFang, intended for that empty space to be a 2.5" drive mount option if I recall.

@@Djuntas cost is also partly the reason. 1 8gb stick doesn't have 2x of every components a 4gb stick has. So, it is cheaper to go with 1x 8gb instead of 2x4gb in most cases.

Current owner of a 3060 version of the Tracer V, and it runs smooth while gaming as long as you have the laptop set to turbo. I’ll run a benchmark test as soon as my updates are finished

I think it doesn't come with an RTX 2060 option? I suppose their production workload can benefit from the additional tensor and RT cores of the RTX cards.
Build quality on these things are not the greatest tbh, the base is largely plastic, only the deck is metal. The hinge assembly reminds me of MSI laptops, which often fails horribly. If you buy from Eluktronics or XMG, you will get an option for a larger battery.
