    Nice job. It’s amazing how the oil companies put their efforts into advertising instead of reinventing their formulas that work. The cold flow test is real. That’s why if you have a diesel anything , you had better get a heater for it and keep it plugged in the winter. Also if the temperature is going to go below 10 degrees it’s best to just let it idle until the temperature goes back up. There are places in the world where it is so cold that they never shut their engines off. They let them idle around the clock.This was a test of motor oils in a cold environment. I think ford won.
    Take care and stay safe 😀

    “So to compare these two oils, one of which specially optimized regarding its volatility at high temperatures, we froze them both to temperatures so low as to necessitate specialty oil anyway, and demonstrated that neither can pass through a fine mesh when frozen solid. Science!”

    • @Syntheticoilprotection
      @Syntheticoilprotection  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct when you have a synthetic blend or a full synthetic which can be labeled full synthetic when it's 25% synthetic or more that has more mineral oil conventional oil is more volatile it thins out at high temperature you lose oil pressure and you also Lose film between the metal and that film is what keeps the metal Parts separated less frictionless heatless wear when you comes to the 100% synthetic like Amsoil it has a significantly better film strength under high heat the film lasts on the metal longer keeping the metal Parts separated to the next day when you do the cold start you'll have less wear in the motor up to 80% of the wear can occur during the cold start so having a higher quality oil will make a huge difference in the lifespan and performance of the vehicle especially for someone that lives up say in Canada or a very cold area because some people turn off their car several times a day and they have a lot of cold float and different challenging things of that nature definitely will surprise you if you try it!

    I live in Florida. This presentation is irrelevant for me, in several ways. But, most importantly, every oil has certain additives and characteristics. All oils will have different lubricating properties at different temps. So, at regular operating temps, some are better than others. Just because one flows better at sub-zero doesn't mean it will do better at 195°, for example.
    * The additives in Dexos were designed for modern GM engines. Example, it's additives are meant to work and prevent carbon build up and wear on GM engine parts that other oil may not address. It also interacts with GM gaskets better. Also, one of its characteristics allows for less aeration, which in turn, allows for hydraulic lifters and oil pumps to be more efficient.

    • @Syntheticoilprotection
      @Syntheticoilprotection  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are oils that are better at both just depends on the additive packages and usually what the base is what makes Amsoil different is the base stock is 100% synthetic and then they have really high quality cold flow additives which are synthetic so that makes for 100% synthetic and that would be something like the signature series which I recommend if you live somewhere with extremes like where you live It's always good to run the higher quality products This will show you some really good examples in both hot and cold.

      A.C. Delco doesn't make their own oil. They simply write the spec requirements other oil companies make it for them. I've seen Phillips Conoco make Motorcraft, Fram, and Honda and they've made AC Delco. I've seen AC Delco in Mobil super bottles. One thing Amsoil has over all others is they make their own oil as far as I can tell. No worries on who the maker is.

    Let's not forget that GM and Ford do not actually manufacture their own oil. Even if you buy Motorcraft or ACDelco branded oil, you are just buying a product made by one of the major oil companies with a different brand name stamped on it. If I'm not mistaken, Motorcraft oil is made by Kendall and ACDelco oil is made by Mobil. It is possible that the oil that goes into these branded bottles may have slightly different additive packages per Ford and GM's preferences compared to the standard branded bottles. It would be interesting to compare oil analysis reports.

    • @Syntheticoilprotection
      @Syntheticoilprotection  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a great question yeah the city driving is definitely going to be a lot harder on it now as far as the type of vehicle it definitely depends in the filter size and the crankcase fluid capacity size if you have a large crankcase and you change your oil filter early at about 10,000 mi you could easily get 20 to 30 out of it It's one of those things where you would have to do oil analysis to get an idea of where it's at then you can go from there and stretch it out as long as you want making sure that the oil's not getting too thick and there's no fuel contamination.

      Of course that's what I used to think too until I tried the 100% synthetic Amsoil I was amazed at the performance of the thinner oils and how little the wear was on the metal because of the film strength a oil manufacturer can call a Folsom synthetic full synthetic when it's only 25% synthetic oil is 100% genetic.

      @@Syntheticoilprotection I hope you correct your reference saying you are testing dextros 2 when you tested dextros 1. Your title says it and you verbally say it but bottle says 1

      Okay thank you Steven for letting me know.
      Yeah all the new oils now are all updated that could have been at the time when they were switching over and/or labeling differently.
      Basically if you look at any new motor oil it all says dexos1 dexos2 that's the new specification and basically they all basically override each other or supersede each other That would be the successor of the labeling.
      Great eyes and thanks for bringing that to my attention 💯😉🪙

    I believe often you guys keep making the same mistake, every oil is specific for certain engine because of pressure and other component those test means almost nothing, you’re verifying what oil is best…would that mean ford oil is best for gm vehicle ??! Certainly not

    • @Syntheticoilprotection
      @Syntheticoilprotection  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct there are different oils that perform better at different specifications.
      Up to 80% of the rent on the motorcycle is a cold start so it's very important to have a good cold starting oil.
      You'll see that in the tests here.
      The higher quality lubricant the better cold starting ability you'll have longer because the oil doesn't break down also you'll have a better film strength and that's what makes AMS oil different.
      It's 100% synthetic which keeps the film between the metal.
      Some tests here themselves is four to six times better than other oils
