The only thing that I wish was different about this boss fight in the actual game is if you actually completely destroy his mech suit and then he gets out and fights you hand to hand. He basically has your entire arsenal and can use it just as effectively. That’d be so fuckin cool.
Same, I wish it would be like Alex Mercer boss from Prototype 2. He has your entire arsenal and if you use the same weapon as him or weapon that are being hard countered then you will be punished hard. Like using chainguns shield but he uses plasma instead
Nah, first we destroy the mech, then we fight him hand to hand, then he breaks the crucible blade and transforms into a giant biomechanical dragon with 7 heads and 10 horns. Culminating in him reverting back to his normal form and us utilizing a final glory kill. Now that would be awesome. Davoth really deserved to be in a full game, not just a dlc.

Yeah. Honestly I recall something that someone said which would’ve been cool - having different stages of the fight being like different super heavy demons. I think that would’ve been awesome. That way it tests you on everything you learned on a single battle. And it mixes it up.
Exactly, it's much much better and he's more aggressive as well which puts up a fight, rather than waiting for his traffic light attack. First time it took me almost 2h mostly waiting for his traffic light attack
This makes me unhappy, because when I did this boss fight a few weeks ago for the first time, he would actually recover health if I didn’t attack him on a green flash attack, which made the boss fight a nightmare.
It's unfinished, but it removes a few sound effects from the Dark Lord fight that would cause the music to lower in volume. Sorry I didn't give a mod description for it, but I figured people would be asking why the wolf summon SFX are not there.

I hate how they took the lore, they really didnt need to make Hell more complex than "Its biblical Hell" yeah adding plot is cool but this sorta felt like it changed the entire narrative of the franchise. They are sorta redeeming it by Hugo confirming the Makyrs arent really angels and Davoth actually is a fallen angel, but man, the only way I feel like they could redeem the franchise is if we get actual f*cking Satan and eventually have actual f*cking biblical angel/angel monster enemies.
I prefer the red one. Don't get me wrong the black mech looks cool, but the red mech makes me think of the typical big red devil like the one in South Park, but they're a mech because Doom.
This is just perfect, I believe the Dark Lord fight should be very very hard, intense and violent, and the ambient should change too, becoming more and more chaotic and hellish.
Also this video is literal proof that you could have the boss fight actually allowing you to actually damage Davoth outside of his traffic light attacks and it still be a good fight. Smh

I love this! Vanilla Satan just feels like a parrying dummy, and the mod you used for the fight actually makes it look appealing, allowing you to be aggressive and actually feel like a badass with the heavy fodder mixed in to make it interesting!

Music swap is amazing and significantly contributes to the fight. Though, I wish there was a mod to replace the Dark Lord's armor to make him look more demonic. If we can't have a Doom 3-esque dragon fight, at least have horrifying chaos Primarch armor and not that Marvel-tier praying mantis suit.
Unfortunately, we cannot modify in-game models. I would If I could. In regards to visuals, we are only able to do retexturing, recolors, and and model-swaps (with objects that already exist in the game). Although, the latter is quite buggy.

Dunno how appealing/possible this idea is, but throwing it out there: what if for phases 1 and 2 it played Hulshult's original track, and then for the final it switched to Fall of Davoth? Thinking it would make for a pretty climactic feel to the fight, and help with the whole repetition thing by giving more bits of the song to work with during that section.
It's been a long time since I did the Dark Lord boss fight, but is being able to damage him without waiting for the green light bullshit part of the mod? Instant download if so.
I also like that the more constant waves of summons he does means that you have to think about whether or not you want to use the hammer to clear them or stun him longer, instead of just mechanically going "stun, press V, hotswap until stun ends or dead"
What I hate about Doom Eternal's bosses is that none of them are good enough to be the focus. Doom 2016 had bosses with cool, varying and fun phases, but doom eternal just throws fodder enemies like in Destiny 2.

And parts of the mech suit reassemble like with the Armoured Baron to form a smaller, Slayer-sized suit.
Almost like the faceoff against V2 in Ultrakill. A test of how well you know your arsenal and mechanics, otherwise you'll get smashed
