Also, I'm not criticizing your work as it's top notch as per usual, though I am questioning the original designers design decisions as they don't seem to make any sense
i agree, but I think they're not supposed to be rotating turbines, they just look like it and it's simply a design choice. I also don't think they would make much sense during this time in the star wars universe since concepts like actual turbines are *mostly* old and outdated
@@MarcLevins yeah and I guess, turbines mainly need "Air" to run and this thing spends most of it's time in an "airless" environment, hmmm, but cheers for your input 😊😊
if the t85 had more powerful weapons... I think I would enjoy flying that X wing. Besides newer ship... means more shiny toys to play with. Not to mention if it intergrated the manervability of the 70 yet the fire power and multy class I would love flying that one.
Z-95 to the T-65 were good, classic is iconic for good reason, and the other 2 designs have some serious design and aesthetic problems. 70's S foil design foregoes the clean x shape of the original, having the hinges right there on the outside rather than running through the center, while the 85 keeps the faults of the 70 and looks like a knockoff X wing made to be legally distinct so as not to get copyrighted. I get its meant to be a ship from the height of the new republics power when they have actual proper production lines and facilities, but they took it too far from the classic drag car frame look. Z-95 and the ARC-170 I have less issue with, created with the idea of them being previous iterative designs that at first underengineered and undergunned the craft, then overengineered the ship, to say noting of having 3 clones in a single vessel and that it takes 10 years to grow each one, and combined the two into just the right mix of speed, manueverability, and firepower to make it a general purpose craft.
I came here to point out that the model of the z-70 is just wrong,... The wing actually nest because the lower two have cut outs in the rear of the wing while the upper wings have forward cut outs... His wings are all the same and I suppose that is a relic of him mirroring one wing while building these up.
@@gups4963 the StealthX did not appear until after the Yuuzhan Vong War, you may be thinking of the XJ3. If I recall correctly the StealthX came into use during the Killik Crisis and only became a primary weapon of the Jedi Order during the Second Galactic Civil War against Darth Caedus.

Aerodynamics are useless in space, no air. Star Wars ship designs and strategies are for aerial dynamics but in space aerodynamics don't apply. Larger ships are designed like battleships and fight like they're on water rather than in space. I think they drew too much from WW2 dogfights and naval battles. Star Trek does space battles realistically staying more within the laws of physics. Have you ever thought about doing the Normandy and Normandy SV-2 and SV-2 upgrade in Mass Effect? Great designs and the space battles are a bit more realistic.
Shad at Shadiversity would love you for your comment about aerodynamics and space combat. You should check his video on that very subject. Speaking of which, Shad did say the closest star fighter that got the design right for space combat is the Star Fury from Babylon 5.
@@whitewolf3051 I'll have to check that channel out, I like science, astrophysics in particular. About the most realistic space flight using aerial like maneuvers in space is from Deep Impact using thrusters around the shuttle to steer. Fixed thrust engines are great for going in one direction, wings are pointless without an atmosphere and they don't have directional thrust so I don't know how they steer. In Star Trek they use warp technology to essentially pull the ship like it's on a rope that can bend and twist in 4 dimensions rather than any kind of thrust. In Mass Effect they use dark matter and Quantum Wave Theory in kind of the same way, compression and rebound

Are you sure the X-Wing has 3,700G instead of 3.700G? If an X-Wing can accelerate at 3,700G, how does the pilot not turn into pancake every time the X-Wing makes an evasive maneuver?
I didn't realize they went so fast. at a 100MLight would be able to travel from end to end of the Milky Way Galaxy within 8~9 hours. I'll just assume their universe is in a galaxy far far BIGGER than ours. But then again we can fly to any part of earth in about 24 hours and there still isn't a single ruler of the earth so perhaps their galaxy only needs to be a little bigger and there are plenty of large galaxies out there...
100 megalights is not a multiple of lightspeed - 'megalights' comes from an old Industrial Light and Magic concept chart for rough ship speeds, and seems to refer to sublight velocity. Hyperdrive speeds are widely variable, @White Bunny , ranging from only a bit over a thousand light years per hour, in some references, to as high as over 12,000 light years per hour - and in recent Disney Films, even faster than that. So I guess the comparison you list does sort of work, now.
The first X-Wing ever seen was in the Ralph Mcquarrie Death Star Trench Run painting. it was what you call T-70 with the split engine. What you call the T-65 with the 4 full cylinder engines was the one used in the first movie. Your CGI rendering is not an accurate rendering of it. The rear cylinders are smaller, and significantly offsett from the centerline of the front cylinder. You also don't show the closed front 4 engine full cylinder version seen in another Ralph Mcquarrie original painting. Because of that version I don't refer to either end as "intake or exhaust" respectively. They may be so but I don't assume they are. Neither do I assume their internal workings are turbines. That would be impossible for the split cylinder. Very likely the miniature making engineers recognized this mechanical inconsistency in the Mcquarrie painting, and made the filming models full cylinders. Later CGI split cylinder versions were used on screen because CGI renderers don't have much background in engineering or art. You didn't do your research very well. Just made a lot of stuff up.
Most of the 3D model i used was downloaded on the web to save time since modeling an accurate 3D model is a time-consuming process, and unfortunately, usually not 100% accurate. On TH-cam, you literally have at most 5-7 days to produce weekly content, hence why most SW channel only use still image or videos from the previous movie and rarely ever use 3D models let alone an accurate one.

Sorry but I thought the rebels stole most of the designs from the empire... The millennium falcon was an imperial ship, the Nebulon B frigate, the A wing, etc The rebels upgraded what they had over time but never created any of their vehicles
why do all these 3D renders look SO wrong? The wings are all cut off to short, and most if not all the dimensions are wrong. Then to have some in there that are very close to correct makes you scratch your head and say why if they have a few models/renders that are very close to being correct that so many are so very wrong?
The millennium falcon proves that it could withstand more hits and destroy more TIE Fighters than the X-Wing could. This tells the fighters needed to be bigger, armored with gun turrets and thrusters for better maneuverability. A single millenium falcon could destroy an entire X-Wing squadron too
@@HabitualButtonPusher the millennium falcon has reverse thrusters and directional thrusters too allowing it to brake and perform tight maneuver getting into around tunnels inside capital ship, star base & giant worm as seen in PC Game Rebel Assault and the few star wars movies.
Id argue the falcon is a heavily modified yt1300 and per unit cost you can probably afford 2 maybe 3 x wings over one falcon type 1300 with the list of upgrades it has. X wings are also smaller and less susceptible getting hit with larger weapons
@@clpfox470 Rebel Alliance could have invested the money to build large fighters equivalent to millenium falcon armor but having firepower of B-Wing. Because they're also designed to operate in atmosphere, a fact exploited heavily in the Legends X-Wing novels. Several kills against TIE Fighters are achieved because of the X-Wing's superior aerodynamics in air combat vs the terrible aerodynamics of the TIE models, namely the frequency of the wind catching the inside of the solar panel wings and causing the TIEs to go into an uncontrollable tumble while attempting to mimic the same maneuvers the X-Wings were capable of. Just because you have a ship that can operate in space doesn't mean it can't be designed with atmosphere in mind too.
Who writes this rubbish? Not the video, that's well put together, I mean what are presumably official stats. Hypersonic is 5x Supersonic, putting it at over 6K Kph. 1K Kph isn't even Supersonic, it's Transonic. Star Wars writers need to learn how to use Wikipedia.
5:22 G is not a speed. G has to do with forces on the pilot. You can go lots of speeds and change the g from angling and other factors. It is not a reference to speed at all. Why are the values randomly using different measurements. Hypersonic is a speed above approximately mach 5. Though it can vary in how it's referenced. None of these speed values make any sense or have any baring in reality. It's like measuring distance and using liters. It makes even less sense because hypersonic is only in atmosphere. It's compared to the speed of sound which is related specifically to the atmosphere you are in and how it effects the speed of sound per atmosphere and location. Speed of sound changes in real life in earths atmosphere. This means hypersonic of 3700g is nonsense or a mismatched reference to maximum g forces. And I think 3700 g force is enough to destroy a small planet. Fairly sure normal training and operational g forces are at worst 15g. Most pilots I think do training to 9 g in testing. I think with the more extreme artificial testing up to 15g.
It means straight line acceleration, @Random User . Hypersonic refers to atmospheric speed, which was in 5 digits for the ARC-170. 3700 G would equal almost 36.3 km a second, if using a standard Earth G. I assume that's maximum acceleration, but the Cross Section books are not too detailed on that regard. Or hypersonic was just a misquote for 'atmospheric' by Halfscreen, I suppose. And 'megalights' comes from an old in movie concept art speed chart, before migrating into the video games as a speed marker.

3:33 Neither 1000kph or 2600kph are hypersonic. They are supersonic speeds. Hypersonic is mach 4.5 to 5.5+ at minimum. At least for earths atmosphere. In fact 1000kph isn't even supersonic. It's approximately 0.8 mach in earths atmosphere. Unless this is based on some very thin fantasy planets atmosphere.
The T85 is my favorite because of performance mix with advanced technology.
why am I listening to a young Arnold discussing X-wing technical read outs?
Are you referring to my uncle Arnold Schwarzenegger?
Actually the X-Wing was intended for the empire it was built by incom x wings split apart because it helped cool the engines increase maneuverability and give a wider weapons range it also was designed for atmospheric combat it was also defined defined to be the backbone of the rebel. And when the company that designed the X-Wing join the rebel alliance they supplied them with parts blueprints and technical data on the X-Wing so the alliance could supply their fleet with this dreaded Starfighter that was responsible for the destruction of the first death Star and assist it in the destruction of the second death star the destruction of starkiller base and the defeat of the emperor's galactic empire hopes along with the Star destroyers with planet killer weapons
One thing I love StarWar the most is Man Control fighter is still better than AI!
When I 1st saw the x wing in 1977. I nearly crapped my pants.i still dream of one. I'd leave this planet.
I'm an amateur writer. I can imagine being hired to write for something like the Witcher. Not my favorite thing ever, but I have bills to pay. (I actually did really like Season 1 of the show though.) However, if I took the job, first thing I would do is sit down and read the stories and watch the games being played. I'd also read a good bit of the fan commentary to see what they liked, felt was important, didn't like, etc. Only then would I start to write and try to write in a way that would please the fans. That's respect for the fans. If I screwed up anyway, I'd be able to say honestly, "I thought you would like it because of this and this." I think the fans would be patient under those circumstances and we could always get better as ST: TNG did after the first season.
wish it had been complete with Star wars Legends craft Stealth X.
Yeah. I didn't know it existed until someone mentioned it.
Missing the T-wing and E-wing which were successors to the X-wing not to mention Ralph Mcquaries concept designs which you could say they were precursors to the X-wing
the position and split of the wings on the T-85 were taken from the T-70. you should review your design of the T-70.
Sigh... The Sequels really got lazy with their designs at times. 🤷♂️
The T-70 split engines make little sense, like, surely it's a rotating turbine of some sort ... and by splitting said "rotating turbine" would totally disable it functioning as a turbine and I can't think of anything else that would replace it ... ? anyone else care to weigh in on the split engine ...
I wonder if T-85's wings can be "merged" like monowing. Am I right?
I would love to have the Headhunter in Battlefront 2.
if the t85 had more powerful weapons...
Why the 3d models used in the video are quite a bit different from the original model of the ships?
I came here to point out that the model of the z-70 is just wrong,... The wing actually nest because the lower two have cut outs in the rear of the wing while the upper wings have forward cut outs... His wings are all the same and I suppose that is a relic of him mirroring one wing while building these up.
no mention of the stealth X? Legends for the win
I didn't even know it existed.
@@Halfscreen They were the New Jedi Order fighters, used primarily in the Yuuzhan Vong war. I believe part of the XJ X-wing line.
Hope we'll get a T-90 X-Wing soon.
2:55 Miss-used really, it says on the tin it's for recon, they used it as a main-line fighter.
Can we have access to the models as I would like to print out the X Wing legends variants and the T-80 X Wing.

the T-85 is straight up an abomination. the T-70 on the other hand is great!
You may find you’ll likely get more and wider fan appreciation if you cover ORIGINAL timeline content as well as Disney timeline
In this scenario, you missed the updated XJ series of x wings often flown by jedi, and upgraded in ways that made it a better fit for a jedi to fly
After that was the STEALH-X
you are comparing the old tie and new xwing ... the new tie has shields and hyper drive

If the IP holder insists on not bringing out new content or bringing out garbage content, we can now make our own. I invite all my fellow Trekkers to enjoy another unauthorized novel completely free. Just google Star Trek Lost Destiny Race.
I much prefer this over the way they did it in legends where they tried to replace it with the E wing, if the X wing was so good why would they get rid of it
I like the twin boom X-Wing.
Your T70 model is wrong. The bottom wings are cut differently, completing the wing to be double in its extent.
X wing... legendary wing.
But i love B wing..haha
there was one before the headhunter (in legends) . The c-73 tracker starfighter
I always thought the T-70 would have looked better if the engines had stayed in place and the wings just rotated around them.
Could you please do the Delta Flyer next, please?
@@ll7868 Just to let you know, he does mostly medieval weapon, medieval martial art, and things of that nature. If you want to see his video on spaceships, use the words "Shadiversity Spaceship" to get the videos on spaceships.

Could you do a video on the interior of the endurance? From interstellar
please do a video about deep space 9, shield hellicarrier
Why are all the ships in Star Wars so slow in the atmosphere?
because they are spaceships, not planes.
Good video but the Z 95 had two engines not four
now hold on, i thought the Z-95 was made after the Arc-170. idk it could be me,.
When you realize that an F-14 Tomcat is nearly twice as fast as an x-wing
When you realise that all fast jets are twice as fast as an X-wing!
I just hate the split wing look that the sequel X-wings had, the engine looks nice, but the wings of the T 65 would look way better
Are you sure the X-Wing has 3,700G instead of 3.700G?
If an X-Wing can accelerate at 3,700G, how does the pilot not turn into pancake every time the X-Wing makes an evasive maneuver?
3,700 G

I didn't realize they went so fast. at a 100MLight would be able to travel from end to end of the Milky Way Galaxy within 8~9 hours. I'll just assume their universe is in a galaxy far far BIGGER than ours. But then again we can fly to any part of earth in about 24 hours and there still isn't a single ruler of the earth so perhaps their galaxy only needs to be a little bigger and there are plenty of large galaxies out there...
Yeah. In the SW universe, the Starships can reach their destination in days.
@@Halfscreen I'm not a fanboy but in a few hours even I could find better support, and compose a better fact based history of the X-Wing. Only took 15 minutes to illustrate more flaws in your video than just inaccurate CGI models. If you started with more intelligent information you could have composed a more accurate history faster. Not trying to be mean. Just giving you some benefit of my experience. I have built major tools used to build some of the grandest air, and spacecraft of the passed quarter century.. Also made the heart of the LHC.

The millennium falcon was an imperial ship, the Nebulon B frigate, the A wing, etc
The rebels upgraded what they had over time but never created any of their vehicles
Ok where was the t65 stealth
why do all these 3D renders look SO wrong? The wings are all cut off to short, and most if not all the dimensions are wrong. Then to have some in there that are very close to correct makes you scratch your head and say why if they have a few models/renders that are very close to being correct that so many are so very wrong?
the T-70
The millennium falcon proves that it could withstand more hits and destroy more TIE Fighters than the X-Wing could. This tells the fighters needed to be bigger, armored with gun turrets and thrusters for better maneuverability. A single millenium falcon could destroy an entire X-Wing squadron too
Good points
The millennium falcon seems to be able to withstand multiple shots from Star Destroyer that would have destroyed entire X-Wing and Y-Wing squadron. Quality over quantity

aerodynamics in vacuum of space?
Well, the x-wing is also used in atmospheric environment.
Aerodynamic 😅...
Ultimately it's a SPACE craft ..
What would that matter in the vaccume of space
Any type of X wing is ok with me..

8:36 Admiral Akbar is wrong!
It's Admiral Ackbar, fullname Gial Ackbar.
Ok
T70's wings are wrong
