    Due to the nature of the rebel alliance I would use plenty of imperial raider class corvettes along side imperial light cruisers and interdictor class star destroyers and Quasar Fire-class cruiser-carriers as support vessels and gozanti class cruisers as for a main capital ship a mandator 3 class dreadnaught to wipe out any enemy capital ships and outposts

    • @f-ducket4586
      @f-ducket4586 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. Too bad the Tarkin Doctrine wouldn't allow smaller capital ships to be ships of the line. 25K ISDs is a ridiculous misuse of resources. Many systems could be easily subjugated with a fleet of Harrower and Victory class star destroyers. Add some Lancer class frigates in for fighter defense, interdictors for shutting down hyperspace lanes and you have a flexible, potent force. Cut the ISDs down to 12.5K and use the savings to develop/produce better TIEs with shields and hyper drives.

    The Xyston-class Star Destroyer is an aberration in Star Wars literature. Consider that an 8 kilometer battleship was designed to cause a devastating orbital bombardment on its own and the ability to destroy a cruiser by aiming its special cannons at it without risk. And you come to tell me that a 1.5 kilometer Star Destroyer has the strength to destroy a planet (Ask yourself with what energy and with what budget that could be achieved in 30 years operating secretly from an entire galaxy), considering that the Death Star at full capacity has a diameter of 400 km. (and a good part of the entire military budget of the entire galactic empire was spent) and the Star Killer was a planet on which they installed that entire system

    The Star destroyer was really the ideal star warship due to versatility and firepower. One ship able to carry a sizeable deployable garrison, fighters, bombers and shuttle craft. Like any warship they have problems but overall much better than expected. The Empire needed a large fast and powerful warship and the desire to have ever larger warships instead of better design drove them into obsolescence.

    I think the First Order gigantic ships were stupid. To build such large ships, you need 3 things: 1. large amount of resources 2. large sum of money and 3. very large shipyard. You may try to hide, but moving such amount of resources would be incredibly suspicious. If it were that easy, Palpatine would´ve done it as the emperor. Instead, he was trying to build Death stars...
    Very large ships make sense to a degree. Disney overdone it, basically creating inferior version of first trilogy, that didn´t make sense most of the time. Just a stupid cashgrab.

    • @JuanFuentes222
      @JuanFuentes222 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think in the book "Bloodlines" they talk about this. The New Republic Senate became corrupt when FO spies infiltrated it as senators. This way they were able to divert resources to build ships. Also, the FO were based in the unknown regions of the Galaxy, a region that's greatly unexplored and hard to navigate in, so they could take resources in that region without anyone noticing

    • @Morpheus-pt3wq
      @Morpheus-pt3wq 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@JuanFuentes222 It doesn´t really matter, where were the fleet built, nor if there were corrupted senators. Such massive movement of resources, money and people (you definitely need workers for such project) would be easy to see. Unless it´s a plothole, that makes everyone, who were looking, totally blind.

      You know, I am sick of people spitting bullcrap about resources in star wars. Like seriously, the largest science fiction storyline and all you wanna talk about is *where they got the resources?* You know, our planet has more than enough resources to give large countries as much as thousands of warships, tanks, planes etc, and you whine about a big ship appearing in star wars GALAXY, where one single Yavin-scaled planet would've provided enough resources. How are people not getting tired of your bullshit behavious of questioning every single molecule and its origins that is of course only a thing if disney movies are the thematic

    I hated the idea of the Xyston, but now it kinda makes sense.
    Considering ol Palps had started building the Xystons before the Battle of Yavin, it makes sense it's just a scaled up-ISD. Use what works and what you have at the time.
    His plan was to wipe out the Rebellion and then rule from the Death Star, with new Xystons entering the fleet as he begins just taking over the rest of the galaxy. They probably wouldn't have had planet killers on them, but something big still.
    But he dies and gets stuck trying to keep a body for 3 decades. His ships get built, but then they just sit in drydock, aging and having to be upgraded over time or scrapped. Eventually they get the weapon design they want via the First Order, and start putting the new, very unstable and powerful energy canon that now can overload the old reactor design onto these completed or in-progress ships.
    As we saw, they were big and plentyful, but their newest upgrade was also their achiles heel.

    You should to a list solely for the far superior *#StarWarsEU* (what Disney arrogantly/insultingly calls "Legends"), so as to include more in-depth looks at ships like the _Eclipse-Class Dreadnaught_ (still, thank you for at least giving it an honourable mention)… Or maybe just do a video for the _Eclipse-Class_ on its own, so that you can really get into the ins-&-outs, really get down to the marrow, as it were (in case it's not obvious, it's my all-time favourite Imperial dreadnaught) 😁🙏🏻🥰❤️🖤

    I think the empire and first order should have spent less time building ridiculously massive ships and more time building a humongous fleet of smaller ships that were very maneuverable and only needed about 5-10 crew members, and they could surround their enemies on all sides. They could build billions of them. The capital ships could just be transports.

    My favorite is the Titan-Class (do a video!). Its technically bigger than an Imperial Class, but smaller than the Executor Class, the Eclipse Class, & such. Its more of a personal preference of being powerful, but not too powerful; to ensure Peace & Order without stepping out of line. While the Imperial Class Star Destroyers can make up the bulk of the Galactic Empire’s visible navy (Tarkin’s Doctrine), ships slightly larger, such as the Allegiance Class & Titan Class, can be placed at linchpins of minor hyperspace routes that has more than two general directions to jump to very important locations (I honestly believe that Kashyyyk has four, which may require either something slightly larger than the Allegiance Class or Titan Class, but not the Executor Class because its not a major hyperspace route). And with locations that have only one hyperspace route in & out, victory classes might be the far better option & such…

      I know mine would be three to four B-Wings on a YT series cockpit (C-Wing, but more) & it’ll use TIE Bomber Pods (TIE Boarding Craft to be precise) as a sort of warhead to unload sabotage focused battle droids to weaken the ship’s/station’s defenses just enough to ensure that troop transports carrying organic soldiers can safely board & continue their capture of the ship & such…
