I’m glad they can leave the shelter but you keep getting so many. How many will be too many? I’m just able to feed and vet my cat and dog so I can’t imagine feeding and picking up waste from dozens of dogs.

Our family used to have a Corgi mixed with Australian cattle dog…. Best dog we ever had! She’s in heaven now 💜

I know these girls are doing their best and I appreciate them ,but hearing the barks and howls in the background just breaks my heart .

It’s the little ones that break my hearts @ shelters, they are too little to stand up for themselves to dogs they’ve never met, they get shafted to the end of the line because bigger dogs rule, they need a human to stand up for them. I’m that human. I rescued my little dog from a shelter, it was the best thing I ever did in my life, my heart started beating again, I started breathing again and there was a ray of light shining in my life again. I am so happy now!!!!

If that little black-and-white dog was at the shelter where I volunteer, it would be adopted in one day. It's the large dogs and the older dogs and the mixed terrier breeds that have the toughest time. Thank you for saving them all!

Would like to know how much it costs to adopt a companion from a shelter.
I am a senior, with limited resources, living in an apartment. So would need a smaller senior dog.
I dearly love watching the Asher house, with the daddy to all, Lee Asher.
He has a heart of gold, and is fulfilling his destiny.
I would recommend calling your local shelters, humane society, etc… I have volunteered and worked with various organizations. Often, the places near me waive adoption fees if the shelter is super full, and a few even sponsor fostering over Christmas, to leave the shelters empty for a day or two. That would give you a chance to trial run with a possible senior up for adoption. Just a few thoughts. I’m a senior, too. I hope you are able to match with a companion in need of love.
Always good to ask if any special diet is needed by your new friend, where they are on their shots, etc…, and bring a leash.
