I do this as well, but I’ve noticed I’m getting some closed comedones & black heads on my cheeks. Idk if it’s caused from the cleansing oil or not, but I read several Amazon reviews saying they experienced the same problem. Thoughts, Dr. Dray? I appreciate your feedback.

Love your videos! Would you consider making a series for basic skincare first aid? Wound care that we should all know, what to do when we get a cut, or burn our fingers cooking, bruise ourselves. Of course (hopefully), most people will assess themselves and seek medical attention if needed, but in the meantime or during recovery, would love a video for helping with these smaller everyday traumas to the skin!

the kose speedy or regular oil cleanser and the shiseido perfect whip face wash have been my go-to combo for so many years. whether i'm just wearing sunscreen or a full face of makeup, the combo always gets rid of everything without any residue. I've tried micellar water and cleansing balms, but nothing compares to oil cleansers when it comes to cost and ease of use. I wash my face at night in the shower so I never worry about getting the oil all over my bathroom floor 😊

I can't wait to try my first oil-based cleanser, and of course I totally agree with the double cleanse both on the scalp and the face. If you used Purity Made Simple Cleanser by Philosophy, you wouldn’t need to use an oil cleanser at all. That cleanser removes waterproof makeup, even mascara. You only need about a dime size of it. It foams up & cleans really well. No double cleanse needed. It also comes in smaller bottles for people to try.

@@NatalieG427I use Purity and have almost for 20 years. I am a product junky but I have never used anything else but Purity. I know it’s not for everyone but I love it. It does take all the make up off. I will still sometimes double cleanse with it. Depending on how heavy my makeup is. First to take off the makeup and second to cleanse. I do not have dry skin, especially since using Gold Bond Nighttime Retinol after cleansing. So far it’s worked for this nearly 60 year old skin.

I am using micellar water followed by cleanser (both very gentle and fragrance free) and my face is super clean after. I wear make up almost every day and my sunscreen is not water resistant. My skin is sensitive, prone to break out very fast if there are oils (most of them), essential oils, any ingredient that contains in the name: olivate, oleate, mystrate, isostearate and other few. I discovered this after about an year of trial and error in order to build a skincare routine. Was even harder to find a sunscreen suitable for my “special” skin. So is good that the rest of the world can use a cleansing oil/balm and I’m happy that some brands sell micellar water and it’s all for me. 😁
Every time I hear or read “room temperature” I’m wondering what this means. I saw reviews about beauty fridges and people said that is not necessary because you can keep all skincare and/or some medicine at room temperature. I live in Australia in a two storey house where summer can be very hot (48 degrees celsius) and even indoor temperature is quite high. I have AC but I also have a job and I use AC in the evening when I come back from work and in weekends I go out. So during the summer and even spring (now is spring here and we had few days with 38 degrees celsius) most of the time “room temperature” is over 30 degrees celsius upstairs. But I’m sure if you live in Siberia room temperature should be fine and you don’t need a beauty fridge. 🙂

I placed an order at Stylevana the day after I first saw you use/discuss the DHC oil cleanser-I ordered the DHC cleansing oil & a headband (to keep hair out of my way when washing my face) with it in a set, wrist guards to prevent water running down my arms, & the Isntree cleanser as well! My order just shipped! Looking forward to using less or zero makeup wipes-they always felt gross to me anyway! I also picked up some Ponds cold Cream from my local Walgreens. Trying to simplify my routine while having rosacea & these products are Dr. Dray approved!! 😊❤

I like to come home from work, put my E.l.f. cleansing balm on, and just let it sit for a while while I do dishes or whatever. Then I rinse it off/do 2nd cleanse and start my skincare. I just love the way it feels, and it has nice ingredients. I don't know if I am helping or hurting anything by doing that since the sunscreen and makeup are also still on my face while the balm sits.

I've been doing a double cleanse for many years. I wouldn't cleanse my skin any other way. Before I first discovered it and was only doing a single cleanse, there would be traces of makeup on my towel so I know I wasn't getting my skin completely clean. I've tried many oils and balms over the years but really like Inkey List, Elf and Albolene. There are a couple that you've recommended today that I'd like to try. Thanks, as always, for all you do. Happy Tuesday, Dr Dray! I hope you have a tranquil evening. ❤

I live in Taiwan and have been double cleansing since teenage years~ I have combination-oily skin and use water-resistant sunscreen every day. Double cleansing really helps break up all the particulates from the air, cosmetic residue, and sebum production, and I've never had an acne breakout~ Kose - Softymo IS MY FAVORITE!!! especially they sell these refill bags, so I can keep reusing the bottle~

Dr Dray mixed up which product was thicker between the Kose Speedy and the Hada Labo at 11:23. She said the Hada Labo is thicker, but in an older video of hers (at 13:15), she says that the Kose one is thicker and in that video she puts them both on her hands and shows it.
The video is called: Vlog: COMPARING CLEANSING OILS ✨ POOL CHAT👙 CAR WASH 🚙
Now, thicker cleansing oils I thinkkkk work better for sebaceous filaments. The Kose Speedy (pink) rinse off the skin very easily, but the Kose DEEP, is much thicker, and it will rinse off the skin particularly if you have a shower helping out, but it's harder to remove. Double cleansing will easily get it off though. The deep version is great for my sebaceous filaments. Really awesome stuff. Just gotta massage it (from the start) for about 3 minutes (with dry skin) to really let it do it's thing. Takes time.

They never leave my skin dry or stripped, I even use them in the morning - currently the Shiseido Aqualabel Deep Clear Cleansing Oil, but I also love the one from Cow Brand (stupid name, great cleansing oil) and the Muji Mild Cleansing Oil. Paula's Choice cleansing oil and also Clinique's Take the Day Away balm are both excellent, too. I used to use jojoba or mineral oil first, then my regular cleanser, but now that cleansing oils are formulated to be cleansers, I don't waste time with a 2nd step. I really want to try that yam root line! It looks so gentle that it could take the place of the oil cleanser!
