In my 78th year I find it beneficial and rewarding to achieve isolation and control of the abdominal "wall. I have always been intrigued and impressed by the way control of muscle movement can be obtained, never more so that in empty stomach abdominal isolation. The breath control and associated pressure of hands are all part of what is necessary for success. Strive for greater reward. Or, in simple English: practice makes perfect for all who take up this pursuit of physical mastery of the body.

Udiyan bandham always has to be performed with jal badham. Which means along with stomach sucking, you have bend your chin and touch the basal part of neck with it.
So many benefits: stimulates blood flow to muscles and visceral organs, expelling waste products from food and digestion, firms and tones inner core muscles, ie transverses abdominus, multifidi, pelvic floor to support a healthy back, breath retention among many benefits has an anti-inflammatory effect, mental concentration, et al.

Things would be very simple. This are to pursuive. Breath is the most powerfull exercice than our conscienceness.
