Young Man's Neck Pain Could Be Serious Spinal Injury | Inside The Ambulance | Real Responders

  • Paramedics are on the scene of a young man who is suffering from excruciating pain in his shoulder and back. They worry he may have a serious spinal injury and rush him to hospital. Elsewhere, paramedics respond to a call of a woman who has suffered from a fall. After examining her leg they believe she has a more significant injury and call on other paramedics to help transport her to the hospital carefully.
For the very first time, an ambulance has been rigged with cameras that provide a unique perspective on what it's like to respond to emergency calls. 'Inside The Ambulance' follows paramedics from the West Midlands Ambulance Service in England as they take us right into the heart of the action. We see heroism at work in the actions of these first responders. We also enter the lives of people in crisis and learn their unique stories.

The Mum who died on Christmas morning broke my heart for them all. Though not good, children are actually apt to run higher fevers than most adults. The good part is he's still looking around. He's a beautiful baby.

That might be true but fevers are not good for babies because their bodies don't get rid of the heat the same way adults bodies do, so its really dangerous for them

"Though not good, children are actually apt to run higher fevers than most adults." I do hope you are NOT included in medical in any way or form as you'd kill HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of babies. Babies are NOT able to apt to run higher fevers than adults because THEY DO NOT HAVE THE MEANS TO REGULATE THEIR BODY TEMPERATURE PROPERLY. Meningitis which runs a high fever is one of the most fatal or debiliating illnesses a baby can get.

When my daughter was 7 years old she had a high fever. It was 103° F. I took her to the hospital and they dismissed it. They just said she probably had a viral infection and to go home. They never ran any tests. I took her home and gave her Tylenol. The fever never went down. A few hours later she felt really warm. I took her temperature again and it was 105.6 °F. I rushed her to a different hospital... a children's hospital. They finally figured out she had a urinary tract infection and was septic. She could have died. High temperature is a sign of sepsis and can be deadly.

British Ambulance Service is brilliant. I really missed them when I broke my knee cap and the ambulance service here tried to get me to the ambulance without a splint. The pain was terrible so they splinted eventually and had another go getting me in the ambo....it was my kids who had to hold my splinted leg up, cos the lady in charge of holding it up was somewhat lacking in the concentration department. Every time she let go I screamed in agony, so my kids took over that bit. No pain relief on the Ambo... either. 🙄
Keep up the good work I miss you.

Sorry to put politics into this, but greetings from Europe with 'socialized medicine' where the ambulance crew do not need to think about one's insurance coverage or where to take one, because the ambulance fee is around $15 (regardless of distance) and all medication and tests done are free at all hospitals & ambulances.
We pay (in Finland) around $30 for a night at a hospital or for a booked hospital visit at doctor's. That cap on medicine expenses is around $550/year and all life saving medication like insulin is capped at $50/year. Alabama is about the size of Finland when it comes to population but Finland is 2.6 time larger than Alabama. Our GDP per capita is about the same.
Just saying...it does not have to be that way. We are a fully capitalist society. Part of our health services are provided by private companies and although our government owns shares in public interest companies, it's because of securing investment in infrastructure.
