My grandmother had a stroke 6 years ago. I called 995 and almost couldn’t get the words out. The lady was really calm and talked me through. SCDF came so fast and got her to the hospital within the golden timing. My grandmother recovered really well and is 102 years old today. Thank you for all that you do.
From an American paramedic, I love your system. Calling the 995 caller on the way to the call to start your assessment. Beautiful. Being able to categorize the patient as non-emergency and advise of options. We do the same thing but we ultimately have to transport them. Love how you prioritize your patients. Kudos from across the pond! I see that we all deal with BS (non-emergency) calls all around the world. There is a guy calling for toe pain for 4 months at 4am in Singapore also. Makes me smile.
You guys are much better than i can hope to be, as we pretty much never or very rarely deal with physical trauma from stuff like gunshot wounds or any assortment of stab wounds. I wish you guys could do exchanges
Also an American paramedic, all of what was said above, 100%. It's refreshing to see that all paramedics around the world, from Scotland to Singapore deal with the same BS. I wish I could say to a patient that they are non-emergency and they should call a private ambulance.... and they are subject to fine. I love the use of technology to get critical information like vital signs, meds given and patient demographics to the hospital as this just speeds so many things up like patient registration. It's great to see that we no matter where we are from, paramedics that love their job just really love taking care of people. Cheers to my paramedic brothers and sisters of the SCDF!
i wish more singaporeans would appreciate them more. i've personally heard too much stuff about how people think they're inefficient and inadequately trained. but i know, when they face an emergency, they will call these heroes. i hope to be like you guys one day, you saved my mother and father's life and allowed them to still be with me.
This hits home as I recently had to make a 995 call. I was surprised when the call connected after just one ring. Despite being trained in first aid, I found myself overwhelmed when attempting CPR. Fortunately, the emergency video system officer provided invaluable assistance while we waited for the paramedics. Though she didn't make it, I'm grateful to CNA and SCDF for their public education efforts and Singapore's exceptional healthcare system. To the dispatcher, video call officer, and paramedics involved, though I may never know who you are, thank you for your professionalism and dedication. It was a harrowing experience, and I often grapple with feelings of guilt, wondering if I could have done more. Your incredible professionalism deserves a big salute.
Hey, I'm a first aider too. It must be tough to deal with the loss, but know that you have done everything you could at that point in time and that the rest is only up to fate. It's normal to have these thoughts and to feel that way after something like this. I hope you're feeling better now.
My Dad almost died from a cardiac arrest some years back, I have the utmost gratitude to the paramedics who came swiftly and brought my dad back to life with CPR and AED. Thank you all so much for the good work you’ve done.
It's the same all over the world. People call ambulances for the silliest reasons. I wish they'd learn that ambulances are for emergencies not boo-boos. I've been an EMT in the US for over 20 years. I'm extremely impressed with the SCDF system. The paramedics are incredible. Keep up the good work.

My mum had cardiac arrest around 3 years ago and she already had stage 3-4 lung cancer for years by then. we called the ambulance and they came so quick, she didn't survive unfortunately and my dad asked to stopped the second resuscitation when we were at the hospital as we would rather let her go in peace after suffering for so many years. One of the SCDFs came to visit us a few weeks after to apologise that he couldn't do more to help but it wasn't their fault at all, they did the best they could and if it was a time for her to go, she had to go. I hope he's doing well now, thank you for all the help.
SCDF Paramedics saved me in 2022 when i had a heart attack. If not, without this critical intervention and help from them, i won’t survive. I can’t thank the team enough. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
What amazing professional healthcare staff. I work for the British Ambulance service, but I have to say I would feel very safe in Singapore emergency services hands
I was an ambulance medic in SCDF during my national service in 2013. I am one of the lucky few who really enjoyed my time doing national service. It is such a fulfilling job and I'm still proud that I got that opportunity.
SCDF saved my dad's life on two occasions: the first time in 2012, when he had a heart attack and was alone at the school where he teaches. Thankfully a janitor found him slumped against a wall. They did a stent then. The second time a few years later, he was tinkering with his car when he felt the familiar sensation. He had the good sense to call 995 before it kicked in and made it to NUH for a triple bypass. Ten years on, he is still hale and hearty. His story may be a bit long but not unique and I'm sure many, many others have similar ones to tell of too. Thank you, angels of SCDF.
Watching this documentary was not only informative but deeply moving. Our SCDF and hospitals truly exemplify teamwork in ensuring patients receive timely medical intervention. By showcasing their work and challenges, CNA has not only honoured their dedication but also brought awareness to the invaluable role they play in our communities. Thank you once again for your outstanding work in producing such an impactful documentary. It serves as a powerful tribute to the selfless individuals who tirelessly serve others in matters of life and death. Our healthcare workers truly deserve our salute. 😍
Honestly wouldn't mind seeing this expanded to a longer doucmentary series, to see how Singapore's emergency medical services deal with various ailments and situations I already binge on other documentary series on ambulance / hospital services from UK and US, so it's neat to have a similar spotlight on Singapore
I was involved in a road accident, and the scdf paramedics came as soon as possible, kudos to them for getting to patients quickly and doing their best to save lives
We are fortunate to have a great emergency care system here. My mother had two fainting episodes when we called 995. I remain so very grateful for the rapid and professional response that we got. It is necessary to protect this system and save it for acute cases.

Dispatcher, paramedic, nurses, doctors, support staff, management, planners, every single one. As someone who has called 995 before, can really attest to the supreme timeliness and professionalism of this life-saving service. Heartened to see that day in day out, there are people and innovations like these that make Singapore a better place, every single day.
This video hits me so hard. When my grandmother had a stroke, the paramedics came within minutes and they were able to save my grandmother that she was able to survive another year. 😢 Thank you SCDF for the hard work and delication 🙏❤
SCDF has been upgrading a lot of their equipments and systems for a faster and smoother life saving process. Time is the essential factor in saving lives. Every second counts.. Kudos to SCDF, the paramedics, Call centres teams and A&E teams. So only call 995 for life threatening emergencies pls! Save the resources for people who truly need it.
Thank you SCDF, all our amazing paramedics, all who man the operations centre, doctors, nurses, frontliners. We are so so grateful for all that you do for our nation. Thank you all! ❤

As someone who recently had to call an ambulance for a serious life threatening situation, what was shown here is exactly the WORLD CLASS PROFESSIONALISM our first responders had proven over and over again. Thank you!
Thank you, SCDF, for consistently assisting my late grandpa. He often battled with breathing difficulties and relied on frequent hospital visits. You are our everyday heroes, making a difference when it mattered most
Truly grateful to the SCDF team - from the time the 995 call was picked up, to the despatch of the ambulance and paramedics , to the attendance of my father’s conditions in 3 different emergency calls. He was attended to swiftly and hence saved. Thank You SCDF Ops Centre and EMT as the first line❤ Good job!

Compared to Malaysia ambulance which is my own experience. good video highlighting the importance and work that paramedics do, but fails to shine light on the negative sides of it. ptsd, trauma, acid reflux, poor sleep hygiene, high stress and tension, patient abuse to paramedics, etc etc. and they are one of the most severely underpaid professions for the work that they do. we can definitely do more for them, pls increase their salary and give them more mandatory rest periods. without sufficient rest how are they able to function to their best of their abilities without operating with a BAC of an alcoholic? wonder why are financial agents paid more than these essential and mandatory workers of our society. literally saving lives rather than just taking money away from your bank account.
Feel free to tip them or buy them their meals when you see them outside lor. Put money where your mouth is. Paramedics during lunch buy meals get shunned by people or get yelled at for blocking, or get photographed by people asking why they have time to eat when they should be out "saving more people". I'm convinced ppl usually need help w/ different types of emergency medical services. Especially ppl with cardiac diseases shld call a paramedic immediately. The last time, while my mom sitting on bed had pain in her heart, thank you paramedic she went to the emergency hospital. That was a real problem, but some ppl call to paramedic and didn't have a problem. I think that shld have previous call control.

Respect for these people.
I salute these men and women for all their hard work!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I feel so touched watching this. Thank you to all involved!
Excellent and very professional emergency medical service!
More protocols should be set up to prevent non-emergency calls take up SCDF time. Right attention to the right patient.
