Steve's father reminded me of my own father when I rolled my first car. It was the first time I heard him really swear when I said I was sorry about the car. All he wanted to know was if I was okay and I felt so loved then. Steve is very lucky to have parents who care so much about him. Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦
Thomas is in agony. I recognize the chin trembles, teeth chatters, shakes. There is not enough pain killer in the world.
Consultant Will is the most wonderful humane doctor, I watched some of these programmes on tv in UK and saw him in a few. As a retired nurse of 50 years experience doctors like Will are few and far between.
This one hit me hard. Our adult daughter died three years ago. It’s like it was yesterday. I’m so happy for these families.

Will is so kind and gentle with a cheeky smile & grin that makes me smile. And yet you can see that he is feeling every bit of pain the patient and parents feel looking down at their son such. Compassion in his eyes. So glad that he is back, definitely a favorite.
My heart goes out to Steve, Thomas'dad. As I experienced childhood trauma myself, I admire how strong he went out of this and I'm very happy for him that he has a family of his own now and is such a great dad. I myself suffer from severe ptsd and were not able to have kids, which I regret severely... 😢

Silas is another favorite, always being ".... you sure that you're old enough to be a doctor ? " How cute is he. Surely they won't cancel this show... not when they are canceling all of the job programs. Thomas's concerns over what Dad will think is so sweet and dad not wanting to be like his father.

1) The Toe Bro - Too funny! I’ve watched many of his videos and the receptionists are correct, that crunching sound (it’s from the tool only) gives me the willies.

i wouldnt be too worried about the patient if they're not coming in on a helicopter, & getting pulled out before the pilot even kills the engine.
Hot Load: The helicopter's rotors are spinning and the engine is running while the medical crew loads or unloads the patient. This can save time, especially if the scene is unsafe or the patient's condition is critical. However, it's also noisier, dustier, and creates a more stressful environment for everyone involved.
Cold Load: The rotors are stopped and the engine is shut down during loading and unloading. This is the preferred method in most cases because it's safer, quieter, and allows for better communication between the crews. It also reduces the risk of foreign objects being blown around by the rotor wash.
I personally was very impressed by Steve Thomas’s father that he BROKE THAT “FAMILY CYCLE” if not that Evil Cycle would have continued year after year after year!!!GREAT JOB STEVE!!
It is wonderful to the doctors and nurses giving care and warmth to the patients and it restores my view of a world that appears very damaged. Lots of good people around. To see parents do what they are supposed to do - care deeply for their children and say that they do gives me a warm feeling and chokes me up a little in a good way - it's heartwarming to see again and again that were mine failed there are lots of good ones around. Thank you for your channel.

I REALLY enjoyed the family love and closeness shown in Tom's family, by his Father, Steve. And, Mom, Sally, of baby Sonny. They really do have strong families. People could LEARN something from them, if they didn't focus on breastfeeding age, ad had been done since the beginning of Adam's sons.Bottle feeding wasn't popular, probably, until the 19th Century. What/How would Geo. Washington, Thomas Jefferson, possibly Jimmy Carter, Ben Franklin, Napolean, and EVERYONE else, have been fed and survived????
I've always been told in a CT SCAN to either have my hands above my head or beside me. Never on my body.
It was obviously difficult for him to do that given his spinal injuries but once the head and neck/upper spine had been scanned, they helped him move his arms above his head.
I guess it sorta depends on what they area they are scanning.
I learned that in EMT training 25 years ago:

God bless the dad that gave his son a better life. To tell him I love you brought tears. My own father split before I was born. I was lucky enough to have a wonderful dad. He may not have been the sperm donor but to me was my biological father in every way. Both of my son’s dads were no shows. The first “didn’t make enough money for a child and told me to have an abortion” the second just wanted a boy to carry on his family name. Good thing the baby was a boy I guess. I gave both my sons all the love I had. But I know not having a man around affected them both. So sir, I tip my hat to you. God bless

Feel sorry for Thomas ' family and him. I hope he makes better choices in the future. Motorbikes are not safe, especially for the invincible age-group. There is nothing to protect you from your own stupidity at that age.

I'm always confused why they don't operate on people with internal bleeding asap. Why didn't they get Tom into surgery to repair the laceration and blood in his cavity - instead of just having him lay there getting worse?
Shouldn't it be an emergency to hurry up and get the kidney things taken care of before he gets sepsis? 36:03
From watching these the moral seems to be don't ride a motorcycle and don't use ladders to climb on the roof. If you suspect you've had a stroke get to the hospital soon so you can be given clot dissolving drugs. It goes without saying wear a helmet when you ride a bike or motorcycle.

Sometimes it's better to do that Gina. There is a certain stress attached to knowing you have an anxious parent/partner/child sitting next to you and watching you like a hawk. And there is the feeling too that you must try to communicate in response to their comments or questions ... another subtle stress. Going home gives the patient room to relax a bit, rest and even sleep and can often be the right thing to do rather than staying with them.
He may not have been allowed to stay in the ITU overnight. Because of the level of care, there are often extra restrictions on "guests" there.
On single lane roads in italy ambulance here can go max 55 mph, 90 km/h if there low traffic even in a city. Good that the ambulances nave a voice other than warming beeps and reverse lights: that "stand well clear - veichle reversing" is helpul to alert distracted People than traverse lights and reverse beeps

I wonder why they changed from the soothing female voice in the CT scanner telling you to "hold your breath" to the angry male voice that sounds like a drill sergeant. Also, I wonder why they always have the patients raise their arms behind their heads. I've had plenty of scans in the USA and never had to that, and it seems really painful and weird to force a severely injured person to move in that way.
Will is freaking amazing, probably my favorite doctor from the St. George's series. Thomas's dad is pretty awesome. Also, I know nothing about kids, but isn't Sonny a little old to still be breastfeeding?
Not at all. Usually, a child breast feeds for comfort and soothing at older aged, while transitioning to more grown-up foods and finger foods which provide more and more nutrition. Children, in the past, were often not totally weaned until closer to age five. Bottle feeding changed all that.
Breast feeding is not only (usually) of a superior nutritional benefit, but, is very beneficial for Mother-child bonding and child's development and behavioral health benefits.

I hate motorcycles!!!! Sadly, I have personally known 4 people who were killed on motorcycles. My neighbor directly across street instantly killed leaving his teen son without a dad. A friend lost her son instantly and he was an experienced driver who competed in racing. Was only 20 and in the military. Another good friend who was hit by a drunk driver. He suffered a month in trauma center, surgeries, etc…. Severe head injury and he was wearing helmet. He passed after enduring a month of horrific pain! 3 years ago and the man who was drunk just now going to trial. Another friend, a deer ran in front of him. Died instantly. Another was a couple who were in hospital with broken bones and skin injuries.. they lived but life was changed. So yeah! I hate them!

Says, you. Bottle feeding only, is a relatively new development in human history. Our forefathers were all breastfed, often not being weaned until closer to age 5. Read of Abraham's son Isaac's weaning in the book of Genesis of the Holy Bible. Also Samuel.
@@mickieswendsen1302 .....yes, that's true. It's big business over here to have kids bottle fed too quickly.....nursing is the best, unless your situation is such that you can't do it. My daughter was weaned at 3 closer to 4 in age.....if it was good enough in the past it's good enough now........not every continent or culture does bottle feeding anyway......

As she said, after the stabbing Sonny got more clingy and I’m sure the mother wanted comfort too. Don’t judge. Breastfeeding till 3 is extremely common and absolutely normal.
I feel the same way… it’s definitely not for everyone…. I wouldn’t be able to breastfeed someone that can talk and can eat with their hands ….. a lot of moms feel that way … it may be very normal but not everyone chooses to do that…I don’t care what you do with your kids…I just wouldn’t be able to do it.

Mom said, after the brother was stabbed, Sonny had gone back to breastfeeding, and that is NORMAL. Breastfeeding is not just food, it is normal nurture, comfort, and has a calming effect on the child. You being creeped out - that’s on you - this mom is nurturing in the most holistic way possible. Kudos mom!!!

Some of these heart breaking stories just kill me. This one reminds me of when my son was in Afghanistan and was injured in a sand rail accident by an incompetent consultant he was riding with. Then again when moving a trailer his mates dropped the trailer on him. He spent 3 months in the hospital over there when the sand rail landed on him and drug him over 100 feet. None of us could be there with our for him. We got to chat with him once he was well enough once a week. Not being able to be there for your child, no matter their age, is terrible. He was 18.
