The 1GM10 seems like a great little engine. I've one in my Westerly Tiger, 1971, not original engine. The boat has stood for five years in the foothills of the Alps whilst undergoing restoration. Last month, changed filters, renewed oils, bled the system and pressed the starter - engine churned over for about 30 seconds and fired without coughing. Now, the boat is going to the river Danube to begin a 2500 Km journey to the Black Sea. It'll get there, no problem.
I should have shown the anode, with sea use it should be changed annually. However, I changed the anode this year (2019), it looked almost brand new after 15 years!...River water and not sea water.
Wish I had good access to my engine, then everyything would be a lot easier. Not only have i never done this kind of thing before, I also have a cramped, inaccessible engine bay and 90% of the operations I have to based on touch. Annoying AF

That's brilliant. What an adventure!
Great video! Just what I needed.
Great video I've referred to it several times over the last few years - thank you! Also, wonderful boat!
Thanks, very helpful. According to the manual the gearbox oil is different from the motor oil (?)
I did a lot of research on this at the time, and apparently it didn't matter. I have used the same oil for ten years now and All is still good 👍
Great video. 2GM20D is quite similar so you can also use these methods for 2gm service.
Great video thanks and all the best
Thanks for a vey useful video. Only one small thing missing (in my opinion), that you include a quick view of the lifring pump...
best service video that I have seen- weel done
thank you
Does the friend know what values to adjust the valves? thanks
Sorry I don't know
Excellent instruction. Mine is a bit harder to get at. Why? I'd love my engine to be under the table where I can keep an eye on it.
thanks Joe. yes lucky with the position. boat designers are a bit like garden designers...looks great but a pain to maintain!
Very helpful 👍Annoying music
Impeller of sea water pump should be relplaced every year.
if only all 1gm were that easy to get too
Nice work, I had to rebuild my after the exhaust elbow rusted
Thanks. That elbow is a weak spot unfortunately.

Groovy music..... !974 is on the phone... They want their music back LOL
