I hope the next Mario Kart has Double-Dash style'd racing as a separate mode.

I am surprised that they haven't made another mario kart game where you can have two characters on at once
I'm surprised they've never brought back the character specific item mechanic.
Compucles it was too op i think, but still it was awesome. Really can’t get into 8 as much, it’s too streamlined of an experience, lame shortcuts, lame items.
As soon as you got used to 8s controls it was just too easy. Character specific items is only as good as you make them

ALDO Nueve maybe the switch will have Mario kart ultimate or something with every single level

There are similar mechanics in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with the double item boxes, but other than that I somewhat doubt this one will ever come back. From what I know less people enjoyed this game than many of the other Mario Karts, which I can understand despite loving this game.

It's a favorite of mine too, and what got me into the Mario Kart series!
it's a great game indeed but tbh it starts to show it's age.
This version has more lucky moments than strategy, concepts introduced in MKWii and MK8 like the tailgating boost and ramp tricks actually make it more skill based.
also this version only has 4 cups.... only 4.... even mariokart 64 had more tracks!

Fun fact: That void area in Waluigi Stadium still exists in Mario Kart Wii, but it doesn't respawn you at the ramp.
Probably one of the BEST Gamecube games and Mario Kart games out there.

6:03 This happened to me once when I was in college, but I was hit by a blue shell instead of a green one. Got me from 1st to 7th place.
Also, the last glitch on Bowser's Castle happened to me once, but instead of being on 2nd lap, I was actually about to finish the track, and the game placed me over there even though I finished the track. Good times !

The Spicy Meme but my brother said that when the player driving is trying to drift and punch from either side, it will screw up the drifting.

It’s funny how he first mentioned Mushroom Bridge, since a new glitch/shortcut (2018) was recently found there by the current world champion player (Goomba; he has an active YT channel), which amazingly came after about 13 YEARS of no shortcuts found. It’s called “The Soduku Method”-the move is pretty much done by riding off the bridge so that you fall so close to the other side of the map, that the game counts it as crossing the checkpoint at that area; then, as soon as Lakitu drops you off at the bridge, you simply rush to the finish line and the game will count it for you as a lap; then, rinse and repeat. There’s a couple other steps & rules involved, but yeah; it’s awesome :D

I think that item box/Thunderbolt glitch also works when being hit by a Blue shell, Bomb-omb, or any other obstacle really.

I preferred MK64 before MK8 came out. Was more skill focused to me when playing against friends. Items felt less intrusive/debilitating.
DD was my least favorite because it felt slippery while DS was second least favorite since it had snaking... everyone just played as Drybones with his little tank cart so they could just get larger mini-turbo boosts. It killed an otherwise great game for me.
Calypto you know that argument doesn’t hold up at all right? Pretty sure there are people who played both extensively and will say DD is better. I know I have a slight preference for DD but it and DS are both fantastic mario kart games at the end of the day. Go back to both of them every now and then and there still just as fun as when I first played them.

The thunderbolt glitch works right after getting hit by any item, not just Fake Item Boxes. Been saved a lot of trouble from that glitch in random occasions.
I actually kind of discovered my own glitch in the game. When on any menu screen with options in all 4 directions, for some reason if you rotate the control stick clockwise for a little while, then start rotating it the opposite direction really quickly after, the game thinks the control stick is still moving clockwise. I have no idea why, but it’s kind of interesting.
Lazy J probably to do with buffers and stacks.

Wait, not being able to be shocked after taking damage is a glitch? I thought this was normal, unless you're supposed to be shockable only when you don't have a star.
We in the show business call it the "scrub dodge".
It isnt a glitch. As a matter of fact about 70% of these weren't "glitches"
You do realize this is in multiple mario kart games, (meaning that it's most likely a mechanic) right?
It's not just in double dash, in my experience it is in MK Wii, MK DS, MK7, and MK8.
While i'm not entirely sure if it's supposed to happen with lightning as this works with any other item, such as being hit by a red shell and being able to shrug off a blue one momentarily, or not being able to be hit by 3 shells at once, I do know that you have some "invincibility time", meaning that you can't get hit consecutively, by, say two banana peels in a straight line, as you'll just plow right through them.
