Very cool of you to include that previous reference. That video was very helpful. We can see how tow people did it and learn from both. Thank you

Mark Burrill thank you and no problem! Thanks for stopping by and watching the video btw! I hope you can take away from this video as well. You're welcome!

Now these look better than the timing cover. The way the blue fades into 'metal' suits the car much better. Now the timing cover won't look out of place as the engine bay takes on a cohesive theme.
I still think it's possible to do too much, so there is a fine line of between nice/balanced and gaudy.

Sweet video. I just thought about the vinyl I installed on the fender vents, wondering if the heat will affect it. This mod is so temping, the heat here in SC is pretty bad. I like the shrouds too and good demostration of the string!

11BNUFFY thank you! I don’t think the heat from the vents should affect the vinyl as much as the direct heat coming from the sunlight IMO. I’m pretty sure the vinyls are meant to take that kind of abuse. Do the mod lol! It’s out of sight, out of mind but at the same time gives you peace knowing that you’re kinda saving your engine from heat soak. I’m glad to you liked the demo 😂

...ppl put black vinyl on their roofs all the time and even in direct sunlight, the vinyl shows no affect of heat damage. If yours does, just remove it; simple. Since no one is measuring the temperature at the fender vent, I think you will be fine...

I want to try this out! Has the heat comimg from the engine bay melt the plastic trim on those fake vents though?

Try it! I'm sure they'll be benefits to eliminate some hot temps under the engine bay. I don't think it'll have that much heat to melt the plastic trim on the fake vents. If anything, you should try to cut the vents open and make it functional. That's what I did. Check it out here if you haven't yet: th-cam.com/video/e8bRyLCqmYg/w-d-xo.html

I did this mod and it’s been a few months of track days at Laguna Secca and Sonoma Raceway..big difference on engine temp and intake temp. 😁👍🏽

@@teejayxdude glad to hear that it’s a benefit at your track days. I wish someday I could do a track day at those places one day lol!
