    It is a great installation video and a great product as well. Highly recommend doing this who ever won a WRX/STI. I am gonna do it by myself. Just wanna add a note on this thing:
    1) Intercooler mount bolt torque specs are 11.8ft-lb
    2) Intercooler hose warm clamps torque specs are 2.2ft-lb
    3) Bypass Valve torque specs are 11.8ft-lb
    4) There is two coolant line that is pre constructed with the AOS. I asked them about the order which line goes where (Since one goes to the Expansion Tank, one goes to the turbo outlet). They told me it does not matter. You can attach them in any order you want

    I love this AOS, it was one of the first mods I bought for my car. Very well explained step by step video - he makes it look easy. Still way out of my league to install this myself. I got my local tuner shop to install this for me instead.

      @The Doe Show it depends on how much the shop charges an hour for labour. Where I am from, I had to pay an additional $500 - $600 for the shop to install it for me. It took them about 4 - 5 hours to properly install the AOS if I remember correctly. I also had other things being done to the car at the shop during that time, so I'm roughly estimating

    Just used this video for my 2016 Sti. The install was a little different but pretty easy. I struggled to get turbo hose from Intercooler back on no matter what tool I used to get it over the bottom . I found that if you slightly change the angle of the hose downward it slides perfectly into the turbo without any tools and fits way better. I wanted to comment this for anyone who might run into the same issue. The version 3 is absolutely worth the money.

    Bout to do the install in a day or two. I have watched this video 3-4 times already, and will watch a few more times before doing the install. I have all tools ready to go, and am excited to get this on the car. My 2011 wrx had cylinder 4 compression issues, and I didn’t care for it as I should’ve, and definitely learned my lesson on what is needed for these cars to be healthy. I traded it in for a new 2020 STI that ive kept completely stock thus far. This video should be exactly what I need to understand the process more thoroughly.
    Thank you IAG, for providing this video. I understand most shops charge quite a bit for this so i decided to give it a go myself.
    I’ll let you guys know how it came out after I’ve finished the install. Next up after this is the cylinder 4 coolant mod, along with a Koyo aluminum radiator. Only then can I be comfortable doing performance upgrades down the road, as this is a daily driver that id like to keep healthy over its lifetime…

      Alright guys, I’m taking a break. I’m at the point of reinstalling the intercooler, but having some issues with fitment. Should be able to get it on with some patience.
      I struggled to get the yfitting on to the block where the oil returns from the aos, that took me the longest to get right. Hard to see down there and I couldn’t get my throttle body to move quite as far to the side as they showed in video.
      The other parts that took the longest we’re getting the clamps all set right. Some of the steps took me longer than I was hoping, and I had more coolant leak than I would’ve liked. I’m sure I’ll get some smoke on start up due to that. I’ll come back after I get some rest and get the IC reinstalled. I hope to have the car running by this afternoon. I’m hoping it’s all solid and there’s no leaks on start up. I’ll have to add some coolant but that’s fine and was planned for.

      It’s not what you all want to hear, but I’m just gonna keep this car stock at this point. There’s more important things in life right now to take care of than to spend time and money messing with my perfectly fine running car.

      @@coryanderson5210 That sucks. I wouldn't give up, maybe take it to a mechanic and work on it with them or something. Or perhaps you need a couple more special tools to help you get it done. Use worm gear clamps where possible, particularly on the hose that drains coolant into the turbo feed. My provided clamp allowed it to leak.
    Also, if you are using a FMIC, just remove that bracket they tell you to feed the hose through the hole of. It is only used for supporting the TMIC. It will free up space and make getting the intercooler to turbo coupler on much easier.

    7:08 A buddy and I started on this today. Tried all sorts of things to get that breather hose with the pre clamped clamps to go on. Nothing would work. We ended up having to slide the small hose fitting on and then carefully lower the clamp down with hose pliers and clamp it. We spent probably 4 hours trying to do it, and broke the y fitting in the process. Good luck.

    For those who are wondering about the 2017 Sti install.
    Depending if is IAG v2 or v3 Install will be slightly different.
    I installed V3 on my STI so I kinda followed some part of this video but you have to see the other video from this guy BOOST AND SHUTTER.. he explains how to install on 2017 STI but the problem with THAT video is that he is installing a V2 instead of the V3....
    once you get to the part of installing all hoses, you gotta SWITCH to this video.
    Im telling you this because I did mine like this and it was perfect install. If I had someone tell me this before I wouldn't have taken 5 hours to install mine.

    Word of warning to those such as myself that live in cold climates. If you drive your car for extended periods (NOT stop and go) in extreme cold, the AOS lines WILL freeze. I'm currently thawing out my entire PCV and intake system. I want to emphasize that this is NOT, I repeat, NOT a problem with the AOS, it is an inherent issue with the location of the PCV and the intercooler on WRX's. The cold air blows through the intercooler, directly onto the PCV lines. Over time, this will cause the moisture (water) in your system to freeze and create crankcase pressure which will push oil into your intake, and possibly blow your dipstick out, which blows oil into the engine bay. One fix that I will try is to put cardboard over the intercooler to try to keep temps in the engine bay high enough to prevent freezing.
    This does not seem to be a problem with people that drive in stop-and-go conditions, it only really affects those that are driving on highways/interstates for prolonged periods.

Tried for 45 minutes and wouldn't budge. I watched this video (th-cam.com/video/vVFrBlO8FxQ/w-d-xo.html), where the guy re-used his factory hose and that's how I ended up getting all of this to work. Other than that, fantastic video and fairly straightforward install. Took my son and I about 3 1/2 hours from start to finish. Local Subi shop quoted me about $676 to install at 4 hours of install time, so I figured I'd see about installing it myself. • @satsun
      @satsun 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If there is enough length on the hoses, you should be able to connect directly to the block as long as you jumper the PCV diag connectors to suppress the CEL. I've not seen the older instructions, but I'm guessing that these new instructions are more EPA friendly since they keep the diag connectors intact. I'm going to perform the install this weekend on a 2017 STI and I'm considering going straight to the block.

    • @trnql_noir
      @trnql_noir 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@satsun Thanks for your input satsun. I ran them straight to the block with no issues using the jumper method. I am just curious if the Blow By sensors are important to the operation of the engine since not all systems are 100% efficient and some blow by will still make its way into the block.
      If you are still top mount intercooler that was the most annoying part of the install tbh. Other than that everything is straight forward. I suggest printing out the instructions in color, watch this video, and take your time. Good luck!

    • @satsun
      @satsun 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@trnql_noir Those connectors don't sense anything regarding the content of the lines, they're called 'PCV diagnosis connectors'. Their only purpose is to throw a CEL when the connection between the two parts is open. That's why it's easy to circumvent them. No operational impact by removing them.
      Glad you were able to run straight to the block. I'll do the same to eliminate those bulky connectors.

    • @trnql_noir
      @trnql_noir 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@satsun I wonder why Subaru even implemented these sensors then. Emissions maybe? In my opinions its probably cleaner if you just keep the sensors connected so you do not have loose connectors dangling around.
      I have been debating whether I should go back and reinstall the OEM hose and sensors since I do not really see any downsides of keeping them. I thought maybe flow may be restricted but I really doubt it. What are your thoughts?

    • @satsun
      @satsun 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@trnql_noir I've already done some of the connectors, I used electrical tape to cover the exposed part of the connector so it doesn't get dirty and then zip-tied the connector to the wire harness or something nearby to keep it from hanging loose.
      They are either for emissions requirements or they're in place because certain PCV lines need to be modular for serviceability, so if part of the PCV system gets knocked loose then there's a system in place (CEL) to notify you of the problem.
