It has been said numerous times, but bears repeating: The honest approach to the difficulties of bad runs that beget questioning ones play, and how to overcome it is always appreciated in your vlogs, capn! How you seemingly weather those storms very easily is inspiring, as well. Lastly........sick foreshadowing at the end. Hope the eye gets better quick!
Great to see another video Mr Neeme. It's also refreshing and great of you to show the 87c hand. So often I have an open ended flush and straight draw on the flop, but it doesn't come in. Ends up costing a fortune to see both the turn and river. That's poker.
Real MVP Jason. Andrew wants feedback. Great, you like the ones in the past, but that doesn't mea. You'll like everything in the future. And, what do you think he could do to make it better?
tough decision with AA there, I think shoving is the best, 5 bet just screams strenght, a shove does too but at least with a shove maybe opponents convince themselves you have QQ or AKs whereas with the 5 bet they only put you on AA
Andrew, I want to say thank you for this current episode where you seem to be doing everything right but just keep getting unlucky. I played in six tournaments between Friday and Saturday (3 at MGM and 3 at TI). Felt great, was making hands initially at the beginning, but seem like after the break, my seat just turn completely COLD. COLD COLD COLD!!!! Never really felt down or in a bad state of mind, just couldn't get anything to go my way in any of the tournaments. So I was relieved to see this current episode just to highlight that everyone goes through these rough spots and its not always full houses over flushes, flopping the nuts on the river every time! lol I've watched all your episodes and I don't think I've seen you or even heard you reference back to back losing/break even session before, but nice to know that it happens to everyone. Thanks for the vlog!
respect man. the people gotta see the realities of playing full time. shit doesn't always go in your favor. happy grinding next session to get all the way unstuck!
Love the drone shots and love the videos in general. Don't love the raise with 87cc. We have enough equity to call, and we're probably getting called (that is, jammed on) by overpairs. Only thing folding is AK, AQs, and other stuff we're beating. Plus we can always bluff later if a third spade rolls off.
Hope you feel better man, thanks for keeping up with the vids. I'm enjoying them the for sure. Grind is tough, I know cause I'm going through a downswing as well, but you seem seasoned enough to reflect, analyze, learn, and move forward. Best wishes man, gl at the tables
You kind of stated it a bit, but that type of flop is the exact reason why we can't call the 3-bet with 87s when the SPR is so low. We have no room to maneuver post flop and are just hoping for some luck.
The hand from 5/10/20.... those textures are exactly why you play suited connectors in 3b pots in deep cash. Those juicy implied odds to play for stacks!! You will get there next time boss. Keep riding the wave
My .02, but I think I prefer jamming over raising small. All 3 options (Call, Jam, Raise small) show a lot of strength so I don't think we need to worry about that. The min 5-bet just looks realllly polarizing. I don't see many players taking this line with hand like AK, TT-QQ or even KK, so I think I jamming is the better option of those two. I like calling over the min 5bet too. Yeah, you give the button a good price, but with what would eventually be a rather small SPR, I don't think you have to worry too much about reverse implied odds. Just offering my opinion. You're clearly a solid player and these vlogs rock. Keep on keepin' on!
I play at Caesar's often. Then change it up at Bellagios! Glad to see the vlog again! =) I have a hard time knowing when to leave a bad table. Always thinking it has to change........
Andrew, hope the eye is healing well. Tough timing for the eye infection with the WSOP and EDC going on for you....Murphy's Law.... Great vlog - really enjoyed the music and the scenes of you walking - and of course the pokerzzzzz....rough session(s) but you have a great perspective and attitude. Hang tuff and all the best
Hi Neeme - with the AA raise from UTG I think 5b shoving actually looks more weaker (especially in 6max) in their eyes then a min 5b as it looks like you want a crying call especially since you raised UTG... they also might think your 5b shove wants some FE with say an AQ, JJ, TT, 99 then also allowing them to call you with AK, AQ, QQ, JJ thinking they are in it for a classic AIPF flip. In that spot you should slowly call the 4b so it allows the first raiser to either shove over the top or flat with his JJ, QQ, and AK and maybe AQ. Because when someone 3bets an UTG raiser there range is usually pretty good... higher variance option though but still imo the most +EV play. As played flat 4b, allow first raiser to flat or shove over the top, allowing the 5better to flat or call his shove thinking you're weak, allowing you to call the all in against their KK and AQ :)
I think this is a good example of overvaluing 8/7 suited. I know it's a good hand, but I think it should be a fold in middle position with the straddle on, most of the time. The hand wants to see a flop and go from there. When facing an out of position re-raise, you can safely assume they have a very real hand. While 8/7 suited is a slayer of big hands, I find it has better play in multi-way pots for that purpose. The only boards you're really thrilled about heads up are 4 flush, or two pair/trips type spots. If you flop top pair, you're going to war with 9's + pretty often. It just doesn't feel safe to continue often enough, but we all play differently.
Andrew, I have been watching your vlogs since day one and I have to say you sir are an inspiration to us all. Keep up the good work buddy and I hope you get better soon 👏👏👏
Nice video Andrew! I would have liked a flat with the Aces in that exact spot, yes you are giving the button a good price to call with say suited connectors but you are still a favourite three ways. If he ever has KK or AKs you are getting it in obviously, and if he folds you play a pot in position against the 4 bettor which is obviously a great spot as he will have to continue with his bluffs and potentially value own himself on a 4 8 2 flop with his value hands (probably only QQ, KK at this point)
A 'GET-UNSTUCK' t-shirt would be be a very Favorable addition to my t-shirt collection. Just sayin'. Hope the eye is feeling better. Here's to getting back on the run good vlogmaster Neeme.
so I paused the as soon as you said you had only 1500 to start the 87cc. This is a clear fold. We are way under 100bbb here and don't have card edge or initiative. Also if you call here your range is pretty capped because with less than 100bb I think you will 4b gii almost always with AQ+ JJ+, depending on how you perceive villain. I assume a bb 3 betting range in this spot vs your stack is going to be pretty tight.
This video is a sum up of my weekend at the playground poker club. Ever been there? Did well and booked a win of 1k at 2-5 but overall the weekend was not favourable at all ...
Saw you at the Rio last night when I was playing 20/40 Hi lo. You walked by with your chips heading to NL and I almost yelled the flop was favorable but didn't pull the trigger. Looking forward to that blog. The games there have been good.
J5 out of position, suited or not, I'm curious on the thought process on that one? Maybe I'm a nit...lol Thanks for the video and we've all there hang in there.
I think that maybe your call pre flop with 87clubs was maybe a bit loose, but fine overall, and flop play was fine, maybe shoving is fine also. Coin flip on flop with pair and draw is fine, just caught the wrong end of it.
The pre-flop call was a mistake. But putting that aside, I definitely did not like the flop play. I could only possibly see jamming on the flop if I had the 8 of spades there (backdoor flush possibility). IMHO, the best play there was to pot control and call the flop. When the ace of spades hit on the turn, that is where the real fold equity came. Andrew could jam and rep that the ace hit him or the flush hit him. Andy definitely repped AK(of spades), AQ (of spades), or possibly even KQ(of spades) in his range there. Maybe even AJ(of spades)... but maybe not. But there are so many hands that beat straddler on the turn, I can't see him calling it off unless he has nearly the nuts or a huge draw to the nuts.
At 4:29 you talk about fold equity. What do you mean by that and how does that factor into your decision to act? Great vlogs! Thanks for the content and education!
Hi Andrew, when i get AA from UTG, i always limp in. Because i know that someone will always raise it up. So when i come back to me i will 3 bet or 4 bet even jam all in. Given that i limp in and did not raise at first, i always get a someone to call. Of course there are pros and cons to this. If this did not work out, there will be like 4 or 5 hand seeing the flop and sometimes have to give up the AA at turn or river. However if this work out, you can win a very huge pot. Kelvin Singapore
Hey Andrew, great vid once again! In the hand at 9:50 do you think because of card removal that this is a surrender on the river? Hard for him to have spades and Jx, and hard for you to have straight except QJo?which means he's range when he calls the c/r on turn is slanted on the stronger side and with the repeat river hes more likely to call? Best poker vlogs on the planet!
Would a better line on the flopped set be to c-bet small hoping the opponent will float overs and then faking a surrender on the next card? If you are lucky and it's a high card he might try to bluff you off a hand like 99 - JJ. If it's not high he might try to get you off AK or AQ. Just a thought. People seem to like to float a lot.
Nice job on the vlogs Adam. Just had a question... What are you referring to when you say "under the gun" or "the button" and even "middle position". Thanks man.
what do you do when you repeatedly keep getting bad beats over and over and have losing nights no matter how much you change your strategies or range? just take a few months off? it's so frustrating man I love poker but I can't keep losing this hard. not turning around at all for me
hey andrew on your aces hand I think shipping or flatting are your best options to stack the other two villans.. I would ship if I thought the 4 bettor would never fold ie hes a "fun" player and flat if they are more aggro. Your pretty tight from what I saw when we played together and yes your flat seems strong but you have AK, QQ JJ and maybe some other pocket pairs in your range.. after the flat though my intention is to check raise all in on any non K high board since I think the 4 bettor has more KK in his range than QQ...
Andrew, nice vlog! Appreciate all the work you put into these vlogs, and the hand analysis I had a quick question for you, in the first hand with the 87s(clubs), just wondering, when the guy raised you, what kind of range of hands did you put him on before calling him?
I hope you are feeling better! We got to see a pretty bad weekend in this video, two losses and the beginnings of an eye infection. this was the old yeller of poker vlogs. losing twice with two pair to a better two pair was depressing. do you ever think to yourself "I f***in HATE poker"?
A small 5 bet raise looks much stronger than a shove. Not to say you were getting action either way, but a shove can be interpreted as AK or QQ. That 5 bet is basically always AA.
Saw Brad at red rock the other day, unfortunately didn't get a chance to say hello to him. Wanted to tell him how much I loved his vlogs, almost as much as neeme's vlogs.
I'm not too keen on the flop raise. I try not to be results oriented, and I may be here, but why not just flat? Seems like his SPR is going to make most turns pretty easy to gii on. The A of spades even allows you to get rid of your hand, folding correctly. Maybe my thinking is wrong.
Eye hope you're okay! :'-) Doesn't see-m too serious. Am iris-king too much with these puns? Sorry dude! Hope you're good and get back on the grind and vlog run good continues soon!! Love love!
I think you're correct about the min 5bet looking insanely strong, and for that reason, I don't think shipping it in is unreasonable. Even if it is a pretty obscene overbet, plenty of bad players play JJ-QQ like that, or even AK. Obviously it's a tough spot, but I think if one of them did have kings, they probably call your shove, but the min 5bet ... Dunno. I think it can only ever be aces or MAYBE the other two kings. Just my 2c in any case. Keep up the good work :)
Hope the eyes better mate another cracking vlog Andrew i know it's a loss but as you know it happens (im glad you show losing sessions as well as winning ones) it let's people see variance. I played a session recently and the best hand I had all night was 6/7 diamonds! Keep up the good work mate
It has been said numerous times, but bears repeating: The honest approach to the difficulties of bad runs that beget questioning ones play, and how to overcome it is always appreciated in your vlogs, capn!

Thank god you're back. Hope you're feeling better. Miss the videos.Be out in Vegas in July. Yes!!!
Absolutely love the production value at the start of this video Andrew...
I've been waiting all week for this! Hope your eye is better!
Welcome back! Couldn't wait to watch another video!
I like before I watch !

Zonious you think Andrew wants a "yes man"? Sure, the vlog will likely be good, but at least allow the opportunity for a honest vote.
Real MVP Jason. Andrew wants feedback. Great, you like the ones in the past, but that doesn't mea. You'll like everything in the future. And, what do you think he could do to make it better?
guy parked on the side of a desert road, dusk, video taping himself talking to 60,000 people.......totally normal in 2017.
and then didn't go on a killing spree
And now, in 2019, if he did it, 118,000 would listen.
Love the open Andrew. We want more drone footage!!!!
So happy to see the vlog back. Hope the eye is doing better now, and hopefully you run better next session!

Easily the best poker VLOG. Keep it up man, your videos are awesome!
that's some quality vlogging Andrew, thanks man, look forward to watching more.
Not sure if i'm happier more because i don't have to watch other "poker" vlogs or that the drone is back! Thumbs up Neeme

Thank you!!! For agreeing with me about Absinthe being the best show in Vegas. I try to see it almost every time I come out to Vegas 😂😂😂
Next time the DJI guys are in Vegas you need to cover it for us in Neeme blog style. Glad you're back bro.
Eye look forward to watching this one

Mr. Neeme, you are the best poker vlogger around. Keep up the great work!
Love the honesty and transparency of your Vlog.... some other vlogs act as if they’ve never taken a loss or have been affected by one.....
I was feeling a little sluggish this morning until I noticed the alert for you new video...great work as usual keep it up and feel better soon.
hope your feeling better my dude. glad to see you vlog in my notifications
+1 on Absinthe, seriously underappreciated show. A million times more unique and entertaining than the redundant Cirque shows.
i have to say that the way u use yr drone is awesome, great production value. cool music too

About Time Andrew. We have all been missing your vlogs...Glad you're feeling better, or at least your eye is....

Glad you're back man!
Outstanding footage @ 07:10-07:12!

Andrew I just realized You have a very good taste in music!! That's one of Your "tricks" to attract viewers. 👌🏻😎
Nfloz Johnson In Your esteemed opinion 😂
Andrew,

Praying for you Andrew, you are sincerely missed
A 'GET-UNSTUCK' t-shirt would be be a very Favorable addition to my t-shirt collection. Just sayin'. Hope the eye is feeling better. Here's to getting back on the run good vlogmaster Neeme.
The vlog is awesome man. The main problem with Brad Owen and whoever else is their ego. I don't wanna see you lose, but you really handle it well.

Mad to see you so deflated in this, even the happy music doesn't cover it up. Hope all is well with you off the tables as well.
I think that maybe your call pre flop with 87clubs was maybe a bit loose, but fine overall, and flop play was fine, maybe shoving is fine also. Coin flip on flop with pair and draw is fine, just caught the wrong end of it.
Jack Waller calling 87s for 11 bigs when you only have 75 in your stack is definitely a bit loose.
Yeah, he said the 3-bet "wasn't that big" but it clearly was. It was about 125% of the pot.
The pre-flop call was a mistake. But putting that aside, I definitely did not like the flop play. I could only possibly see jamming on the flop if I had the 8 of spades there (backdoor flush possibility). IMHO, the best play there was to pot control and call the flop. Have to check that river with J5, as played have to jam instead of 325
did Scott Baio give you pink eye?
Hey Andrew, great vid once again! In the hand at 9:50 do you think because of card removal that this is a surrender on the river? Hard for him to have spades and Jx, and hard for you to have straight except QJo?which means he's range when he calls the c/r on turn is slanted on the stronger side and with the repeat river hes more likely to call? Best poker vlogs on the planet!
Andrew's back! I can finally tell my boss I'm coming back to work
Would a better line on the flopped set be to c-bet small hoping the opponent will float overs and then faking a surrender on the next card? If you are lucky and it's a high card he might try to bluff you off a hand like 99 - JJ. If it's not high he might try to get you off AK or AQ. Just a thought. People seem to like to float a lot.
Jam quickly w AA to represent AK. Tanking looks strong too. Only way you might get qq or kk to call off is w a snap jam
Hey Andrew, question for you. What's your criteria for switching tables?
Andrew, nice vlog! Appreciate all the work you put into these vlogs, and the hand analysis I had a quick question for you, in the first hand with the 87s(clubs), just wondering, when the guy raised you, what kind of range of hands did you put him on before calling him?
Eye looking like Forrest Whitaker LOL
Dang! I left Bellagio 5/10 at about 12:45 Friday night. Just missed you. Games were not great considering there were so many running.
I hope you are feeling better! We got to see a pretty bad weekend in this video, two losses and the beginnings of an eye infection. this was the old yeller of poker vlogs. losing twice with two pair to a better two pair was depressing. do you ever think to yourself "I f***in HATE poker"?
Michelle Moran the same two pair . Q10
EVERYONE who plays poker sometimes thinks "god, i effin hate poker!" and i loled at the ol yeller quip:) nice work!
Andy have u ever looked at ur eyes when ur leavin bellagio 6 at the A.M???? violet? pink? red? very red?
Hang in there brother! Get well soon and get back at it! GL!

Great caption of the area...
you forgot to say favorable on the 852 board.

Ola, Neeme!
I'm not too keen on the flop raise. I try not to be results oriented, and I may be here, but why not just flat? Seems like his SPR is going to make most turns pretty easy to gii on. The A of spades even allows you to get rid of your hand, folding correctly. Maybe my thinking is wrong.
good comeback, protect that eye Rocky,
Phew! He's alive! Thank you little baby Jesus.
+Andrew Neeme do you think if you'd shoved with Aces, they'd put you on AK?
Eye hope you're okay! :'-) Doesn't see-m too serious. Am iris-king too much with these puns? Sorry dude! Hope you're good and get back on the grind and vlog run good continues soon!! Love love!
Eye-see what you did there. I'm going to close the lid on this one before I make a spectacle of myself. Not that this could get any cornea...

Hope the eyes better mate another cracking vlog Andrew i know it's a loss but as you know it happens (im glad you show losing sessions as well as winning ones) it let's people see variance. I played a session recently and the best hand I had all night was 6/7 diamonds! Keep up the good work mate
