- The biggest poker event on the calendar starts now! It's Day 1 of the World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas. $10,000 entry, $8.1 million for first place. And $0 for last place. And a bunch of other places. No pressure.
We start with 50,000 in chips and blind levels are 2 hours long. There's no better structure than this one. I have a backpack full of supplies (protein bars and battery chargers) so let's get in there.

Doug Polk Poker both of you guys are good. I played full time from 2011 to 2015 in Vegas. Mostly aria and bellagio.
Only thing I notice is both of you talk yourselves into calling too much and also try to justify your horrible calls. Then try convincing the viewer why it was ok and why you liked it.
Just food for thought. Think you guys are great and wish there was vlog when I was playing.

Andrew good luck in the ME from London, England! I've only made it to Vegas twice since I started playing poker in 2003, I went with my brother and we played for 8 days straight. Your vlog reminds me of those trips. I wanna book a flight every time I watch!
Also your solid, calm, methodical approach improves my game. After watching your hand breakdowns, I'm less prone to tilt and stupid moves. It would be great if you could talk about that (tilt/emotional control/temperament) sometime. You seem to stay so cool and logical through all the ups and downs. It's my biggest leak so any tips you can share on that would be appreciated.

Hey Andrew. Great job and good luck the rest of the way. Just a question, but when I sit down to start a tournament I'm always a little nervous. Were you experiencing any nerves before playing the biggest tournament in the world?
Hey Kevin. Yeah there's some excitement/nerves that go along with playing the ME, but the thing about this tournament is that it moves so slowly and allows for you to sit back a bit. Other tournaments are much faster paced. And in general, nerves settle the more you play and the more experience you get.
Andrew. I chatted with you a month ago and have had this dream/fantasy that you are going to have a huge stack and play on the feature table when it gets down to 150 people. Ive already got you in the top 200 of the tournament. I think you being so popular with all the poker community and the big money pros is going to be favorable for you. Your gonna blow up and be a household name here soon. RUN GOOD.......FAVORABLE.........Best.

Andrew! I saw you at Bellagio earlier this summer while you where sitting waiting for your 5/10 seat. Wanted to say hello, but people where walking up to you pretty much all the time to talk so figured you might got tired at some point of never being alone :)
Anyway, one of the things i wanted to tell you is that you have been having som personal impact on me with your videoes. Like, i have always had high expectations personally when it comes to playing poker,and didnt want to make any mistakes, and ive been working on that.. When i started seing your videos regurarly and that Andrew Neeme himself playing 5/10 as a Vegas pro was open about making mistakes that ment alot to me, and i would guess also for alot of players that thrives to be perfect. You have lowered the bar appropriately and setting an example, in the poker environment with alog of big egos right.
So yeah, thanks for the countless excellent vlogs (that are good on so many levels), and for the effort you put into them.

And you are right...I should of had something else...pizza lays heavy in the belly. I made it passed Day 1, but I won't tell you how far, just so I don't jinx you! Andrew, great start to the Main Event. One hand that I wanted to comment on was when you raised the river with the Ace high flush on a paired board. Especially in tournament poker, I like to flat there because he's not calling a raise unless he has a full house. Hellmuth always talks about "dodging bullets" and a part of that is not putting yourself in bad situations. Good luck.

For the second pocket 5s hand where you rivered the boat. I am thinking sizing could have been much bigger. You are basically polarizing your hand here and either he has an Ace or not. Showed by his snap-call, you could have got alot more value. I am thinking a re-raise to ~15K. What do you think?
