Got the 2021 model a month ago and its awesome! Added features? It now has the rear cross alert and blind spot monitoring in addition to the already packed standard Honda Sensing package. This car has full of tech, quiet cabin, smooth ride comfort and my gas milaege is AMAZING. Couldnt be happier with this car. Did I say its awesome? Thanks Honda! 😁

my dad bought an insight back in 2019 brand new, it now has 190k original everything (other than spark plugs, oil, and tires). brakes stop on a dime and the car has never failed us once. if you're interested in buying one i would recommend buying it outright... at the end of the finance with honda this car's sticker for us will be 55k...... worth it

I have had this car for almost 4 years. Amazing ride. The gas mileage is amazing but does lack a bit during the coldest months. The most I have gotten was 60 mpg in the summer. The worst is in winter months I will avg between 42-46 which is still better than some cars out there. No regrets on this ride whatsovever.

It's a great car. I've actually gotten gas mileage in the 60s and 70s when it's warm, but when it's cold, you have to make sure the battery is charged when go to park to get MPG above 45. Sport mode is a rush when you have a charged battery. Acceleration feels like it can get away from you and it actually can in sport mode if you're an inexperienced driver. Again, great car, fully worth the $27,000 I paid for the EX.

Vtec Tan, I doubt potential 2018 Accord buyers are waiting for the 2019 Insight. I think it's internal competition from the Civic, CR-V, etc., and external competition from Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, and GM.

I'm on my third Accord, and while I do think the new Insight is pretty compelling, there is a pretty big difference in size. I can easily fit my bike in the Accord's trunk, pushing it through the fold-down seat opening if I take the front wheel off. I can hide the entire bike in the trunk if I take both tires off (which only takes about a minute). The insight trunk looks quite a bit smaller, so that could be a deal-breaker. I'll find out this summer!

Just remember you take a hit at grown man speeds. My 2006 TSX gets 35 mpg at 78 mph over 500 miles, and that’s on one tank because it doesn’t have a dinky tank like the newer Hondas. It’s 17 gallons, same as that generation TL. It has all the same features as newer cars except the safety features and smart phone play. The 2.4L is one of the best ever made, and you can pick something similar for about $4k. That notwithstanding, if I had to get a new car, the Insight would be a lovely daily driver and looks sleek AF.

Im thinking of geting this car, seriously. But am I sacraficing speed and fun as much as people say I will by getting a hybrid? No matter what they say Im still gonna get it to save the planet even by a little, but another thing. The ev button, isnt that scary? What if I use up all the car battery and I cant move anymore. I ask this out of ignorance because I truly dont know how a hybrid works, especially with that oddly placed batery.

If U had a Choice between the New Honda Insight or the New Accord Hybrid, Which one would U Get and Why?

    • @314jrock
      @314jrock 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

I would get the Insight. This would kill the Accord if they make a long wheelbase version.

314jrock: I like the Insight way better than the Civic, plus I like the Taillights better than both the Civic and Accord. Plus 55mpg in the city, you can't beat that. This is gonna Kill the Prius. I would love if you could add a wing and a body kit on this Insight.

Insight - the accord is a boat.

      S. D. H. I would have to agree with you, I especially like the Insight taillights over the Civic's and Accord's Taillights.

It recharges using regenerative braking, and also, with a gas fueled generator. Down the hill you don’t need to watch your speed or wasting your brake pads, just use the paddles on the steering wheel and the car will be sort of breaking, not using the brake pads though, but charging your battery at the same time. I drove at 72 mph on EV with no problem. It just doesn’t last for too long. I truly love this car. If you don’t see it too much on the streets, it’s because for some reason Honda doesn’t advertise it at all. Weird

this is the bodystyle the Accord should have had. instead Honda decided to make it hideous with claw crab lights and a distasteful C pillar. its a look only a mother could love

I'd rather see them put this system into something closer to the 10th Gen Civic Hatchback. While they were at it they could do some work to improve visibility for the driver, something they have gone way downhill on since the early 2000s. Then they could ditch the lanewatch camera, otherwise they need to stick one on the left as well. Seriously, cars are just getting more dangerous to drive, not safer.

I’m only getting 37mpg with this. I’m curious to know what other people are getting with it.

I have a 2019 Touring model and I average 50mpg mixed city/highway. I keep it in Econ mode and have learned to watch the power guage and adjust my driving style to get the most out of it.

E-cvt is not a transmission it's just an electric motor/starter combo, No gears to change! direct drive with one reduction.

Ok Jason since you propose to ask Honda’s engineers on our behalf - why not to instal the entertainment system in the Clarity just like in the Insight ? Do they think majority of Clarity Plugins buyers don’t care/ older fox?
I’m willing to forget the aero covers and funky rear 3/4 look but not older( 2yrs ) cheaper civic entertainment , and also 1.5 amp charging port common how much more thicker wire would cost for 2amp?

Do you know how much would it be to replace the battery pack? I like to keep my car for as long as possible, and want to consider the price of battery replacement even if it is 8-10 years down the line.

Please Honda, do away with the standard sunroof on higher end models. I'm tall and need all the headroom I can get. Personally, I do not know anyone who uses a sunroof.
Car battery on the inside? I would prefer it to be mounted in the trunk. Trivia question, what American car in the 1960's had a trunk mounted battery? A 1965 Shelby GT-350.

Who would want a non hatchback...i drive a 2013 insight and can fit 4 huge suitcases...along with 5 passengers...

Lanewatch is not really "back"... The insight is just based more on the Civic which still has lanewatch. Any updated Honda model will no longer have lanewatch.
