    Nissan 46 chips can be reused since they are only in basic password mode. Its the ones that use id46 in crypto mode (like gm(+)) that can not be reused. Happy to see my memory was right on the security light location.

    I think replacing IC it's not a mistake. There was no comm between IC and other modules. Can't wait for part 3! Thank you!

      Thank you but I'm pretty sure it was a mistake because the new one also has no communication. No other module reported no com, I was just not able to communicate with it. Thanks for watching!

    can you send a link for the bulb set up you have that you use for testing power and ground at wires please.

  • @nickheiland3397
    @nickheiland3397 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How are you giving the wire a ground thru the test light? Don't you need a jumper alligator clip from ground to the metal end of ur test light? Or you have a special test light?

    • @advancedleveldiagnostics
      @advancedleveldiagnostics  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's a standard incandescent test light that pulls around 150ma which is usually enough to turn on lights and relays. In this case, I was not sure it was enough, that's why I ran it to ground with a jumper wire.

      Love ur channel. Ur in the top 3 of my favorite diag channels. I work on cars everyday but did electrical thru the union for 6 years. Really got my diag skills much better with vehicles. Really want to get into just diagnostics.

    I’d have to google image security light location if I was looking at that car. But a no communication is a no communication

      I tried that, all that was coming up was pictures of the cluster. In hindsight now that I know what I'm looking for, I found one diagram that showed it correctly. Oh well...

    I'm a Locksmith for 19 years and I have reprogrammed those keys with no problems. But you also have to do a reset when you replace the bcm or pcm or immobilizer. And if it's a Nissan that you have to unlock the steering first and it doesn't unlock you can't program a key in it

    • @advancedleveldiagnostics
      @advancedleveldiagnostics  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it was a mistake, I was able to program the old key. Thanks for watching!

    I realize the key isn't your issue but just for future reference we run up to 150 auto locksmith calls per week so there isn't anything we haven't seen or screwed up before ourselves. Out of all the makes Nissan has given us the most trouble with non OEM keys. We only use OEM and OEM refurbs not only on Nissan but most cars now. So much hassle with the cheap aftermarkets. I forgot the model off the top of my head and it's close to 10 years newer then this but the Nissan BCM is easily bricked when programming a key. We don't even roll the dice dealer only. I think it's 2-3 years of a Rogue. All junk. I saw a video where you do the chip insert keys. We never went down that road. So many ways to skin a cat. We are starting to think about the universals like the Autel's. Xhorse has them also. The only thing I have found though is none have blades. It's only push to start so universals aren't going to be the only option at least for now. I imagine someone will come out with blades that you attach to a universal head. I'm just thinking out loud. lol Great videos and looking forward to the conclusion of this nightmare car. This would keep me up all night.
    We also get a lot of false negatives when programming. We have at least 10 programmers including 608's, 508's, Advanced Diagnostics, cheap Chinese clones and many more. Everyone at 1 time or another has told us programming failed and the car started and everything worked. I think they are all stealing software from each other based off OEM programmers. Advanced Diagnostics Smart pro seems to be the all around best and safest of the bunch. It won't brick a Honda BCM like an Autel will. It's expensive and uses those damn tokens but it works.

    • @advancedleveldiagnostics
      @advancedleveldiagnostics  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I try to use OEM on all smart keys, and I usually have a stock of OEM chips, and put them in aftermarket shells. When ever there's a sale on aftermarket transponder keys I usually buy some for emergencies. I don't do keys as my main business so I'm not fully stocked.

    Trying to find out if the security system is the problem, or not, is a real pain. There is no good clean way to test it. Like in a jeep, multiple modules talk to each other. There is no definite way to know if each module is reading or processing the code correctly. The comment from @scotts4125 shows even locksmiths have problems.

    • @advancedleveldiagnostics
      @advancedleveldiagnostics  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for watching! I find Nissans on general harder to diagnose because there is very little Data PIDs. I could not find a Data PID telling me if IMMO was aloud or not.
