- We have here a 2005 Nissan Altima that's a Crank no start. The IDPM and the PCM were already replaced. We suspect an Immobilizer issue since the PCM was replaced. The problem is there is no security light... Hope you enjoy!
For Part 2 • 2005 Altima - Crank No...
I'm using a new microphone the Comica Vimo V3 amzn.to/3Pon7o8 Because I had multiple complaints about the audio. I would appreciate feedback if this is better. Thank you!

I’ve been busy working as a tech! I finally got a chance to watch your video and it’s great. I can’t wait to see part two! God bless you! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much!
Great work to get to the end of problems 😂 practically all cars is dead electrically...
Thanks for watching!
Boy that was fun job, always hated tearing apart the dash, keep them coming my friend, your channel is doing great,
Thanks, you too!
great video, super cool
Thanks!
Sorry the audio on the LH side stopped working at 6:38, I don't know what happened, but I guess it's because of my new mic.
Update: I realized my mic was on stereo mode, which records from both mics, and I was only using one mic.
very cool
When the repaired trace blew immediately and you said you were replacing BCM I'm like "Nooooooo!!!"
Follow the load side traces to connector pins and you can find out what is shorted externally, then fix that before replacing BCM.
I did try tracing it, and I gave up. I wasn't so nervous because 3 other modules were bad, so I was pretty sure it was struck by lightning or the alternator shorted. The car is not fixed I worked on it again today, hopefully, my footage will be good to make a part 2.
@@advancedleveldiagnostics I would be inclined to think there's a shorted section in the alternator rotor that's caused a runaway over voltage condition.
I would have expected to see over voltage codes in the modules that did still communicate but likely someone before you cleared codes.
I replace a lot of drivers and relays on BCMs so I don't need to program replacements.
So in those cases I'm tracing inwards from an output pin to locate the failed component.
In your case you have an obvious failed component (and trace) so need to find what it's powering, or the replacement BCM will smoke too.
Maybe you will find the answer the other way, working back from something else that doesn't work.
Interesting diag. Wonder if the theft light is integrated into the radio too? Hopefully a part 2 coming? Thanks for sharing!
I initially thought it was integrated into the radio, but after some research, I'm pretty sure it's in the cluster. The customer is going to try a new bcm himself. If he has problems, there will be a part 2!
For the no security light issue, I run into a lot of the 05 altima bcms where the eeprom data gets corrupt. Seems very easy to do on these. You can substitute with a new eeprom and do the procedure like your replacing it or you can just replace the module all together. You will likely need to still program the pcm with VIN and sync to bcm, as well, doubt that was done when it was replaced.
Thanks for commenting! The new bcm now communicates, but it still won't start I have a part 2 that I filmed today (just have to edit it) spoiler: but the Cluster does not communicate, do you think that can prevent starting? I don't see it on the diagram but I think that's where the security light is.
@@advancedleveldiagnostics Im not sure the cluster would prevent starting on this one. If my memory serves me, this one has a red dot on top of the dash as the security light. Its hard to see. I used to hold a piece of white paper just above it to block sunlight and give me a better angle to see it reflect and come on when programming keys. Its 2 black circles flush with top of dashboard and almost all the way to the windshield. One is security light, the other I assume is for keyless entry transmitter.
Hey just picked up the Uscope. I notice when you hooked up to the injector you came out the top of the Uscope. Mine didn’t come with that and was curious what it is?
I have mine in a case made by @jarheaddiagnostics

Great video what a horse tool are you using. ?does it read antennas?
Xhorse Key Tool Max Pro amzn.to/40MsD6h
It does read antennas and can clone chips etc.
I'm sorry I made a mistake. It does not read antennas. I thought you were asking about the coil that reads the key.
I got a 2011 Altima hybrid with no communication with Hybrid, ABS, Power steering, Transmission, multi AV etc.
😮 buddy, how did you get that diagram so easily?
Hey I have this same car an I just brought it about a month ago an it was running fine then it just stop cracking, tapped the starter the it was fine until I drove it to work then it shut off an stop running, I got the fuel pump fixed an it’s still not starting I don’t kn Wht to do
Is it cranking now?
Somebody likely reversed polarity of the battery or it was severely overcharging but that usually blows bulbs.
It's not finished; part 2 is coming with more bad modules! I think it was struck by lightning, but I have no way of proving it.
I have the same identical problem you are having with this 05 Altima. You post the 2nd half of this video?
There are 2 more parts.
Part 2: th-cam.com/video/6XqrR3iZeFY/w-d-xo.html
Part 3:th-cam.com/video/JYAkSnV_-24/w-d-xo.html
Somebody put the battery backwards and shorted out an audio amplifier. That’s what’s causing the fuse to blowout
I think it was struck by lightning as the original battery was melted, and a lot of electronics had issues.
@@advancedleveldiagnostics that’s worse. I worked on a vehicle one time a Mitsubishi montero and battery was put on backwards. If kept blowing the fuse. Took me two days but O figured it out. A large diode at the factory audio amps power input which is forward biased from ground to the supply voltage would have overloaded if you were to connect power backwards since the current would just go straight to ground backward without any load since fuse does not care about polarity it will blow. Those diodes are meant to protect electronic components which will short and therefore blow out the fuse sparing precious electronic circuits. Most modern PCM have those diode as well. In fact if you encounter a PCM that blows fuse it is not really unfixable. Just replace the diode it will work by simple removing diode bug then no more protection next time someone puts circuit backwards.
@@user-ji7yd1io8u Good to know!
having a problem with my nissan almera 2003. car starts good in the morning but when the car gets hot or engine gets hot the car cranks but wont start at all. any ideas on what could cause that. Once the car is cold it starts one bounce you can drive anywhere but once it gets hot and you turn the car off it wont start back
You need to see what your missing when it won't start, Ckp sensors can fail when hot but it can also be something else like a fuel pump or ecm
did you try to start it after you disconnected the stereo?
Yes, Part 2 coming soon; it's still not fixed!
👍👍
Thanks!
What made you check the stereo?
The customer told me the fuse was blowing; I. wanted to make sure it was in the stereo and not a short in the harness that was maybe causing all the blown modules.
🔧👍🔧
Thanks!
What’s the best way to contact you ?
email please, its in the about section.
theres no sound from 6:38 on
Sorry I don't know why your having an issue, I just tried it on a diff account and it had Audio the whole time🤔
I noticed sound cut out from LH side only.. Or maybe it was just my airpods?? Lol
@@dtandfam8100 Hmm.. I was only listening with one ear I will check...
Sorry, your right it's not working from the left side...
House calls, 😮
Looks like a flood damaged vehicle
I didn't see any water damage, and it all pretty much happened at once. I think the alternator or battery shorted, or maybe someone reverse-boosted it🤔
@@advancedleveldiagnostics oh ok when I see rusty hose clamps I think water damage. See a lot in Houston from flooding 👍🏻
@@sheerwillsurvival2064 Here in NJ, everything is just covered in rust!
@@advancedleveldiagnostics lol yeah salt I used to live in Wisconsin. But I guess sea water in the air maybe
Sorry two minutes into the video and my ears hurt from trying to understand high speed slurring
Thanks for the kind words!😀
