I bought the Charge 5 but returned it and bought a Bose Flex instead. The form factor is much better for me, just fits in my bag better than a football shaped object. Loudness goes to the Charge 5, but where the Bose Flex shines is it is has a very balanced and clear sound. Much more clear than the JBL - not muddy in the slightest, and considering it is a mono speaker it sounds fantastic. Battery life is not enough - 15+ hours would be better as I often times work 12+ hours at a time, but it can be charged while playing so not a huge deal. I have a 1 hour commute time and I just plug the speaker in after work. My battery is always at 90% or more when I fire it up in the morning. Love it, very glad I returned the Charge 5 and tried the Flex instead. I think this one of Bose's best products now
Equalizer and bass are key points in JBL Charge 5 that makes it best and Bose is good in handling and easy to carry, but sounding wise will go with JBL Charge 5👍

I have just received BOSE sound link flex. It has been connected to my macbook without single interruption for hours. I am very happy with the purchase.
For people that haven’t had the chance to hear the Bose Flex, just get it. That little speaker is insanely good. I’ve had probably 10-15 speakers at this point and the Bose has impressed me the most. The sound is a whole other league above it’s size. It’s decently loud, but more importantly, the sound quality is absolutely amazing. Crystal clear vocals and so much richness and warmth in the music. It’s a beautiful sounding speaker whereas the JBL/Sony are more just basic speakers that get loud and have thump.
Thanks for this response. Sadly some friends lost my JBL 3, so I’m back in the market. I was thinking of downsizing so I can hang the Flex on my golf bag instead of deep in the pocket. The JBLs definitely have some solid thump, which I suppose is good when it’s the main speaker at a party. If I’m thinking more for myself, golfing, working out at the park, etc. sounds like I gotta get the flex, especially if I’m an audio quality nerd
No thanks. It’s too expensive and it can’t pair up with any other older Bose speakers. Bose support is incompetent. My friend has 3 Bose speakers and he can’t pair any together. What a waste of money.
I own the Bose Soundlink Flex, and it is the best portable speaker I’ve ever heard! I’ve listened to everything from high end portable speakers like the Sony, and the Apple HomePod Mini, all the way to cheap Amazon portable speakers, and even a speaker box the size of my torso, and the Bose Soundlink Flex sounded the best, the loudest, it had the most base, the most clarity, and no distortion when turned all the way up! The other speakers sounded muffled, quiet, minimal base, and distorted when turned all the way up. Currently in 2022 going into 2023, there truly is no better portable speaker than the Bose Soundlink Flex. Sorry but is by far not he loudest, I tested the flex vs charge 5 in shop and I had charge at 50 and does at 99 and even the charge over powdered the flex. It's simply mass vs small body. With an eq I could get much better sound out of both of them, but flex is to Small for real power. It does have super clear and nice sound signsture
I have had a lot of portable speakers in the past including JBL Flip, Jbl Charge 4, JBL Extreme, Bose Soundlink Micro, Xiaomi Mi Portable, Tribit Stormbox, sony SRS XB2 and from my experience I like Bose Flex the most, it has good bass, overall good quality of sound, I like the form factor, is not as bulky as the other speakers mentioned in the video, is kind of pricey but I you get one on discount you won't regret it.
@@youzongliu I think it's comparable competitor by size should be the jbl flip 6. Good quality without distortion in both models but a little more bass on the flex
DLX Willington did a more proper comparison between the Charge 5 and the Flex using a high precision microphone and the Charge 5 sound overall better than the Flex.
Out of all my speakers the Charge 5 is my favorite. The sound for its size is incredible. The Etreme is twice the price and the only difference is a little more bass
I have the mini 2 which sounds similar, with a bit less treble. I've heard the flex and it's good. Anyway, I love the Bose signature ultra smooth sound. I. Hate too much treble.
I agree. I believe it has to do with the EQ settings. Typically Bose dials down the treble EQ too much making the bass over power and sound muddy. My favorite feature on the Flex is the position IQ that adjusts the EQ based on 3 different positions. Standing upright is more of the typical Bose signature sound. On its back there is a noticeable treble increase that balances out the powerful bass making it sound more balanced (imo way better). Vertical (like when hanging from the loop) is in between the other two. A little less treble than on its back, but still enough to sound really nice.
I think the sound quality on the Flex is much better than the other two. I could care less about how much louder the JBL is when the Flex has a much more full and rich sound.

@longjohn2404 I concur. I can’t believe the quality of sound and instrument clarity, especially the vocals. I haven’t enjoyed music like this since my Paradigm speaker system, and that is some big shoes to fill. And really like the position IQ since I don’t care much for the sound when it is in its upright position. And that is probably the more Bose signature sound. Fortunately I love the sound when on its back or hanging vertical, and it’s a more practical position anyways. I notice a treble boost that makes the sound more open and bright. I can hear more nuance.

Sony should just stop shipping out their speakers flatly tuned out of the box and leaving the tuning job to their consumers because most of them don't really bother doing that nor do they know how to. It leaves a bad taint to Sony's name because it embarrassingly loses out to the competition despite its sheer size with a high price tag that goes with it. Sony's speakers do have the potential to sound really great but that's only if you know how to tune them via the equalizer correctly. The problem is, most people don't really bother doing that and even if they do, they most probably won't be able to do it correctly. Reviewers also compare speakers based on their sound profile out of the box. Thus, the Sony loses out to the competition against speakers smaller than its size because it's flatly tuned out of the box.
I like JBL but it always has a very loud twitter so it doesn't work very well for me, so I returned the JBL Charge 5 and got a Bose the sound is much cleaner and the bluetooth connection is very fast, but I prefer the JBL Bass hahaha
So far using the xb33 for smaller portable speaker I'm quite satisfied with it, when I want to hear house shaking sound I just pair it to the larger box speaker the xp700 and play it in sync. Sony very practical at this point in time, hurry jbl give us something more.
I'd love to see a comparison to the revolve or the bose color 2. I used to have a color 2 and upgraded to a revolve which I have for 2 years now and no idea if this is an upgrade or downgrade in comparison
After seeing tons of videos, I went out and tested it. I couldn't hear the real power of the flex in the shop. But when I was comparing it side by side with the charge 5. The charge way overpowered the flex. Like insane. This video shows 90 over 70. But in the shop it was more like 50 over 79. That much more power does the charge has. Sure, clean sound flex sound good, but it simply lack the body. With eq on the phone I tested different profiles, flex sounded really nice. But it really lacks power, it's just to small. I don't think it's a proper comparison. Bit sure why lots of folks compare these two, charge is way bigger
The Bose SoundLink sounds really good for a side speaker the only problem is dead battery life is garbage you can't even get two hours of music at a high volume that's very bad with the technology that they have today
I am very satisfied with xb33, but it must be combined with my rooted android, using dolby atmos + viper4android, the sound quality will be amazing, coupled with ldac (hi-res) support, listening to music from any source the sound output is very good with deeper bass, clear vocals, overall clear sound details of other musical instruments, using only mp3 or flac files in the music player normal, the sound produced is very clearly different, but without the sound mod that I use on my root phone, the sony xb33 speaker does not produce quality sound
I own jbl boom box..clip 3..go 2.. and the essential when u go past about 70 percent or so the bass falls away some boombox is the loudest and best ...the Sony xb33 bass stays all the way to 100 percent volume I like that about it and love the live feature it's a game changer esp using the app eq
Flex sounds better. The micro doesn’t have much bass thus doesn’t sound complete. The Revolve sounds too muddy. The Flex also has position IQ which adjusts the EQ based on its position. On its back there is a treble boost and sounds best to me. Vertical (such as hanging by its loop) has a little less treble boost than on its back but more than when standing upright. Upright (or some might call on axis) is my least favorite, but is probably the more typical Bose signature sound. On its back is also better for 360 sound when walking around your house listening to music.
Love my SoundLink Flex, Honestly the best sounding BT Speaker that I’ve ever heard! Still enjoying the loudness my Sony XB43 offers but for SQ the Bose wins hands down. ✅🍿
Would you consider adding a variant of the review of the battery life of the sony speakers with the "extra bass" feature on but the light feature turned off? As that would help to discern the amount of battery life the lights drain and could help in a purchase decision based off of battery life. Potentially the battery life and sound quality push the sony further ahead?...
@@bradhuskers I think I worded my comment incorrectly. Let me say it like this: "What's the battery life of the sony with 'extra bass' on but the lights turned off?"
@@bradhuskers Xb33 sounds crystal clear and Bassy adjust with equaliser, they done a good job this time, can also turn on off xtra bass, but when paired together, sounds like a large home stereo system with LED lights.
Listening to both side by side at Target and Best Buy I didn’t care for the Revolve 2. It sounded more muddy. Not as clear. It can get louder, but sound quality wise Flex sounded better. Also the Flex has a thing called position IQ and when place on its back or tilted at an angle it sounds best. It automatically adjusts the EQ and there is a treble increase and it sounds brighter with more instruments heard.
DLX Willington did a more proper comparison between the Charge 5 and the Flex using a high precision microphone and the Charge 5 sound overall better than the Flex.
I have the Sony and Bose. The Sony sounds the loudest with nice powerful Bass but the bose sounds the clearest and smoothest but not as loud as the Sony or the Bass
I bought the Bose Soundlink Flex, and it lasted about a year. Now it won't turn on unless I plug It. into the charger and then when I raise the volume to the max, it just cuts off. I have tried discharging it and recharging it, but it does the same thing. If I Use low volume. it works OK other. than not turning on unless it's plugged into the charger. Once I. unplug the power, it stays on. so. I know it's not the battery. Once I crank the volume up, it just cuts off.
Bose needs to update to Bluetooth 5.1 or 5.2, it isn't 2015 anymore lmao. Better yet, if they really want to lead the pack, put aptx hd support in there...
How does the flex compare with the old soundlink mini? We still have the soundlink mini from 2014, which was really ahead of its time. The Bose was really the first good Bluetooth speaker, but JBL seems to be ahead of Bose now.
in terms of weight and size the more fair comparison would be the JBL flip 5 and the upcoming flip 6 would be a better choice to compare it to. Flip 6 will be $130 only $19 less then the bose flex. so i dont really think this is a fair comparison and the fact that the bose almost hangs with the charge 5 is saying something. its half the sixe and weight of the charge 5. which imo is a big differance. i personaly have never heard a speaker this small have such an impressive bass quality to it. it makes my flip 5 sould like a toy. however the new flip 6 looks very promising. Oluv reviewed it already and he loves it and thats saying something because he found the flip 5 unimpressive. hes exact words were the flip 6 sounds bigger then it is. it made the flip 4 sound like it had no bass. so i think the flip 6 VS the bose flex will be a good battle. I predict the flip 6 will win in over all sound quality.
I bought both the Flip 6 and Bose Flex today and did a sound test at home. While I really love the Flex 6's size and portability, the Bose Flex has much better sound (9.5 out of 10) vs. 7 out of 10 for the Flip 6. I'm returning the Flip 6 tomorrow.
you forgot to mention the shape and weight factor. I have the XB33 and the Bose Flex, the Sony is not usable to travel with, neither the JBL .The Bose fits in any backpack and weight is not noticeable
Does anyone know when the Sony XB34 will be coming out if at all? The XB33 has been out for over a year now and I thought Sony released a new lineup yearly.

The Bose SoundLink sounds really good for a side speaker the only problem is dead battery life is garbage you can't even get two hours of music at a high volume that's very bad with the technology that they have today
do Bose vs jbl flip 6, cause that are the only two best ones I've seen
I am very satisfied with xb33, but it must be combined with my rooted android, using dolby atmos + viper4android, the sound quality will be amazing, coupled with ldac (hi-res) support, listening to music from any source the sound output is very good with deeper bass, clear vocals, overall clear sound details of other musical instruments, using only mp3 or flac files in the music player normal, the sound produced is very clearly different, but without the sound mod that I use on my root phone, the sony xb33 speaker does not produce quality sound
For the size I think flex is the winner.
Hey there gymcaddy 100k is waving👋👏
🎉
I love your content great videos and your ears are trustworthy aside from the Samsung beans. Def deserve more subs
I’ll take the Bose
To me...on my phone...the Bose sounded best. The JBL sounded too open and the Sony sounded a little muffled. But maybe it's just me. 🤔
I went with the flex 👍
Hows the Flex vs the Bose Revolve and Soundlink mini 2?
The problem is that the sound quality of the Sony is hideous
@@bradhuskers I think I worded my comment incorrectly. Let me say it like this: "What's the battery life of the sony with 'extra bass' on but the lights turned off?"
@@bradhuskersXB33 sounds amazing , I fave 2 of them, On their own!! Better battery, equaliser and light show.
@@moonrakor2000
Sony always has a hollow sound. Always.
@@bradhuskers Xb33 sounds crystal clear and Bassy adjust with equaliser, they done a good job this time, can also turn on off xtra bass, but when paired together, sounds like a large home stereo system with LED lights.
The best..bose is dynamic sound and clear bass..
you should have like at least a million subs ur videos are great... love the vids keep it up man!
How does t flex compare sound quality wise with t revolve 2?
Listening to both side by side at Target and Best Buy I didn’t care for the Revolve 2. It sounded more muddy. Not as clear. It can get louder, but sound quality wise Flex sounded better. Also the Flex has a thing called position IQ and when place on its back or tilted at an angle it sounds best. It automatically adjusts the EQ and there is a treble increase and it sounds brighter with more instruments heard.
Nice review.
I love my charge 5, best bt speaker I bought so far 😊
You really shouldn't tell people to not choose one device over another based on features they like 😕
DLX Willington did a more proper comparison between the Charge 5 and the Flex using a high precision microphone and the Charge 5 sound overall better than the Flex.
I have the Sony and Bose. The Sony sounds the loudest with nice powerful Bass but the bose sounds the clearest and smoothest but not as loud as the Sony or the Bass
which do you prefer
The JBL Charge 5 now has an equalizer, which works really well.
I just bought one for 120! Amazing sound.
I've just bought one £112
Where can we find the EQ on the 5
Jbl : bit muddy
Sony : muffled
Bose : fairly better than the above
bose fan boy
the jbl sounds tinny. I got the bose for christmas and it is the best sounding thing ive ever heard. Besides a full sized system.
How it's full of bass and clear mids
why didnt you turn the live on with the sony speaker? sounds waaaaay better
Once I crank the volume up, it just cuts off.
how is the xb23 a direct competitor????????
Bose needs to update to Bluetooth 5.1 or 5.2, it isn't 2015 anymore lmao. Better yet, if they really want to lead the pack, put aptx hd support in there...
For sound bose, for party jbl , but for soundstage 360 sound , marshal, sony, bose
The motion+ for $100 still kills all these for me
Size is big, i don't think it is durable like others.
@@Pablo-hw5ik you're supposed to tune the eq with the soundcore app. Many vs on TH-cam have the soundcore on top of the jbl 5
Listening from motion plus
Motion plus is not dust proof, and that only really matters if you're Outdoorsy
can you tell me which is best for techno and has the most bass and details, I can not here it well trough the video audio, thanks
Can you recommend a nice small Bluetooth speaker with an audio jack?
Charge 4
How does the flex compare with the old soundlink mini? We still have the soundlink mini from 2014, which was really ahead of its time. The Bose was really the first good Bluetooth speaker, but JBL seems to be ahead of Bose now.
The mini is stereo, the flex is mono. We got the mini 2, still a great compact bt speaker ! I'd buy it again.
Does anybody here use any of these for classical music? It sounds different from mainstream music on any speaker.
in terms of weight and size the more fair comparison would be the JBL flip 5 and the upcoming flip 6 would be a better choice to compare it to.
Need a flip 6 vs bose flex comparison
@@christianguerrero2622 I have a flip 6 coming on Thursday. They are finally available in the United States
@@alexlittig7927 which is now better flip 6 or bose flex ?
I bought both the Flip 6 and Bose Flex today and did a sound test at home. While I really love the Flex 6's size and portability, the Bose Flex has much better sound (9.5 out of 10) vs. 7 out of 10 for the Flip 6. I'm returning the Flip 6 tomorrow.
@@mkvalentine1 yep the flex just has this depth to the sound that the flip 6 can't produce
you forgot to mention the shape and weight factor. I have the XB33 and the Bose Flex, the Sony is not usable to travel with, neither the JBL .The Bose fits in any backpack and weight is not noticeable
Wym I have the xb43 which is bigger then the xb33 and it's fine for traveling
When is the Beats fit pro review coming?
The Bose sounds more open vs the other 2
bose all the way!
Does anyone know when the Sony XB34 will be coming out if at all? The XB33 has been out for over a year now and I thought Sony released a new lineup yearly.
Bose Flex has sound quality that is top class. It's amazing in hand vs. the sony and JBL.
The flip 6 destroy the Bose and $20 cheaper...
The flip is good for bass. But the sound quality is awful.
@@bradhuskers У флипа меньше баса на 100% громкости, чем у Bose
JBL Quality has gone down big time. I work with a lot of Bluetooth speakers and all my buddy’s have Charge 5 or 4 or Flip 5. All the JBL’s pair poorly, have one or both drivers blown, and the battery life is trash.... 💀🍿
But is the JBL water resistant?
Yes it’s IP67 rated meaning it can be dunked in water
How much watts output does the Sony and Bose have
JBL change 5 is Sound best
facts
Naaah sony is the best
@@Pablo-hw5ik ahhhh hell nah
@@mystic7724 Sony has the right tuning, no wierd harshness or one note bass bost like the other two...
@@lukabosnjak3829 I see you defending Sony on every comment claiming that boosting the high makes them sound good or shits like they sound neutral or what but in reality they just really ain't that good, just because you own them doesn't makes them the best lol, I like Sony as a brand and many of their audio product but in reality their Bluetooth speaker are just shitty in comparison to most other big brands
as for the one note bass boost your claiming the other two have, that's probably because the device your listening the video with(I'm guessing the Sony speakers) bottoms out at that note so you don't hear the sub notes beneath smh
Thank you for the clear explanation I was looking for, I am so bummed there is no jack anymore on the speakers, now we are all forced to go wireless at all times, what if people don't want to have these radiations around from that??
True that
How does it compare to the Marshall emberton? I can’t find a video comparison.
I got the Emberton 2 recently. It's the softest sounding speaker comparatively.
It’s Amazon prime day today and oth of these are marked down to similar prices yet I’m so torn on what to buy 🤣
I like my Sony xb33 crank up the equalizer and the extra bass and it sounds great, plus it's very durable charges my phone and I like the lights and stamina mode more features for the price which was good because I got it on sale a while back
Yeah indeed the Bose sounds excellent! but dont mind because i think this guy is a Jbl fanboy! 🤣
The Sony sounds very uncontrolled compared to the Bose and jbl personality I think the jbl has the best sound quality and bass
Flex is perfect for my paddle boarding needs
9:08 you can adjust eq of any spkr with Spotify 🤣
Good job thank you🥰
Hey my friend thank you for showing this video about the JBL in the Sony and the boss I think it is and I agree with you the JBL it sounds very good because my son has the big one I mean a huge one boombox and I use it and that's I like the way it sounds clear sound and gives you what you need I don't have no problem with it and I agree with you
so my JBL charge 5 has EQ, and he just said it does not have it lol, man , seems like JBL listened to you in the past two years and added the future.
Soundcore Motion + is away than all this to value for money
I think your next video is going to be a short on beats fit.
try this speaker bogasing s8 pro max. had all these speakers sony bose jbl .this is a 3way speaker has a woofer 2 mids and 2 tweeters and 2 passive radiators on the back a total of 100w.great and clear mids and trebles good bass hi fi sound
Bose has the clearest sound.
I dont give a f about clarity i want bass more so imo its a failure
For electronic/house lovers:JBL! you wont get the thumps in bose. For rock, jazz lovers(no thump) music :BOSE
The bose is the best🔥!!
Bose sound better. Especially when listening through a Bose noise cancelling pair of headphones
Out the box the Bose Flex is best, however with thr EQ capability the JBL beats it.
Bose sounds great to me...😚
I think so too!
Bose sound is clear isn't it?
