I was at bestbuy and was hypnotized by how smooth, warm and rich the sound was on Bose. The clarity is so nice and it’s such a pleasure to listen to. It’s a great speaker and I think it’s at the top right now within its size/price range.

... Have wanted a BT speaker for years. When I was interested in the UE Boom I never saw the Bose.
Finally I said, enough is enough, I'm buying one today!! (about a week ago)
Listened to what Best Buy had including the UE and the Bose Flex sounded better and was less expensive.
    Very happy with it.
NOW, I am looking at reviews to see if others are as pleased as I am.
    Thanks for the review.

Having two running in stereo is great. Running EQ through Spotify for me levels things out just fine. And like you , I'm not really a Bose fanboy but I got my first one at a discount and decided having two for on the go solid stereo was for me.

Thank you again, Jonathan for another informative review. I received a Bose Sloundlink Flex for Christmas from one of my clients as a thank you for my work for them last year. I will preface this by saying I do have a Bose ecosystem in my home including the Bose Soundtouch Speakers in my home office/guest room. I am a consultant and trainer for end users and their tech, so I think it is important that the technology being used, matches the needs of the user and their environment. That having been said, I am loving this little speaker! I have several portable speakers that I have used over the years for both work ( portable presentations) and for pleasure (sitting out back on the patio). This is smaller than my JBL Charge 3 (which has been my favorite to take on the family beach vacation or to the vineyards). The smaller size doesn't compromise on the sound that my family and I enjoy during the firepit parties or sitting by the friend's pool (and I don't worry about it sinking in the pool, should it fall in the water. This is my second Bose portable speaker (I own a Soundwear Compainion speaker), but this is one that everyone will enjoy. I haven't tested the speakerphone call quality yet, but so far it does what I like and want from a portable speaker incredibly well. I may opt to purchase a second one (since this was a gift ) for the party mode effect for this year's upcoming vacation with my family. It is currently connected to my laptop as I write this response as I play some instrumental jazz here in my home office. I thoroughly enjoy your channel and reviews. Happy New Year to you. Looking forward to more of your content.

I think the only thing I would really like for this is the Multi pairing! I’m in no rush and this is really exciting to see that Bose is coming out with good stuff again. I feel like for a while their speakers felt a little stale to me personally. I thought their revolve speakers were overpriced and I actually really dislike the cylindrical design everyone was doing. If I’m listening to it by myself I don’t want a bunch of power wasted to push sound out of the back when my ears aren’t back there lol. Hopefully in a few years they can update it to include the better BT! Not a dealbreaker at all, but I am comfortable waiting.

I'm amazed how few reviews mention the ability to use it for phone calls. Thanks for doing a short demo of that. When you are in the bathroom lying in the bubbles, it really is wonderful to just press a button and answer the phone. I have the JBL Flip 6. Sound is OK (a bit bass heavy) but no chance of answering a phone call. I find myself using my much cheaper XHDATA Bluetooth radio as a speaker, simply because I can use it to answer phone calls.

We are replacing our Gen 1 SoundLink which we absolutely loved. It just starts randomly shutting off now but hey, its gotta be pushing 15 years old now. We tried replacing it with the Revolve and then the Flex and while I agree that the Flex is a great sounding portable speaker, both the Revolve and the Flex suffered from connection issues -with our phones literally right beside the speaker. Wondering if I just got 2 bad units, or if this is normal? The sound would just drop while playing Spotify -the song would continue playing on the device, and when the connection resumed, it would just keep playing, but it was REALLY annoying. This happened with by my wife's and my iPhones and it would happen a LOT -in a 1 hour hot tub session, it would happen 5 or 6 times, consistently. Did we just get two bad eggs? Or is this an inherent problem? I really liked the Flex otherwise, but am not going to put up with that..... Give up and go Sonos? Or try a new Bose a third time?

I am in the market for such a speaker, and this one was to be my choice, then after several reviews, I decided on the JBL Flip 6, now I'm undecided again, I hope my local store has them both on display so I can compare them. My main reason for the JBL, was the fact it had a tweeter, but as an old fogie who's top end hearing cuts off at about 3Khz I guess that's irrelevant anyway, so it's down to design and price.

I got this two days back after seeing many positive reviews over the internet. But for me, it lacks the sound clarity that I need!!! The instruments like guitar, piano, violin etc. do not sound good on these speakers!!! The instrument sound is very suppressed or muffled!!! The vocals sound clear and the bass has a punch, but tribble is missing significantly!!! My judgement is based on other devices like airpods, bose qc 35II and sonos beam that I have and since these are way superior devices, I might be feeling let down by the Bose Flex. I wish Bose provided an equalizer in the Bose connect app to tweak these to my liking.

The flat design fits better in my sling bag. I prefer it over round/cylindrical.

Hi, I am considering to buy 2 for stereo but I saw a comment about latency especially when watch videos.
I usually watch youtube videos, how is the stereo mode with youtube app? Is there any problem about latency?
    Thank you!

Good review. I use this Bose speaker when I travel because of size and performance and because my home Bluetooth speaker, a Sony SRS-XB41 is a tad large......

I have a Bose Soundlink flex 35 mins away on the Amazon truck. This is after being gaffled by JBL not once, but twice. First JBL Flip stopped charging, popped and hissed its way to the grave in 3 mos. Contacted them irate and feeling swindled. Nothing tech support could do, but offer me a new speaker. Which they did eventually and which started popping and hissing in 2 mos this time. This would of course be right after I left a pandering review stating how great JBL was to at least address their technical failures by offering me a new and similar speaker, it was a Link20 This time. So, eff JBL, I eagerly await my Bose speaker and pray Bose hasn't gone to shite like JBL seems have. Of all the speakers I've had thru 50 years of listening to music the only ones that have stood the test of time and worth every cent are a pair of Bose Noise Canceling can-type headphones. I wear them every day to dialysis. I can't hear the machine, the nurses or other patients only what I want to hear. Oh please let the Soundlink Flex be of that same ilk and engineering.

Hello! great video! I have a question, how does it perform on, lets say, netflix? I used to have an old bluetooth speaker that was very bad at audio sync (with the moovie image), I could only watch movies or YB properly when I used a cable... Really want to buy this bose, but since it doesnt have a cable output, I am afraid of getting frustrated with the mouths moving apart form the movie sound... THANKS

Most cellphones have an EQ that can be used with the Flex.

Did Emily say she was able to hear it better than the phone speaker ? asking because i m considering Flex to use for my office calls.. thank you! Do you think the microphone is good for speaking hands free calls ?

Great sound. Great bass response. Connectivity with two speakers sucks. Very finicky to establish connection to the second one.

Watched this with sound through a Bose SoundLink Flex. Like, insane, right?? 🥳 Seriously though, this unit has an exceptional sound profile for such a tiny unit: rich, warm, crystal clear. Was not expecting it to sound so very good when I tried it out!

Nice review! Are you try turn on the speaker remotely? No body talk about that and it’s a very cool feature.

Wait until you see the Flex Max just introduced. I thought the Flex was nice, but the Max really blows it away.
