that place is a joke to picky on dumb stuff, don't go down a hill past 70 mph you'll get a write-up, make sure you do your “360” in the fuel bay lol. About 5 months ago they lost literally 25 people in a month that's why they hire a lot in Spring Valley I think they are up to 250 drivers but god luck not worth it, Nobody stays.

The only thing I'll give walmart is the PTO system that's okay but everything is trash, to the insurance and lets be real $42 a night to be away from your family to sleep in a truck BIG F NO minimum $150 a night for layover but hey Walmart guys settle. Beside they took away all the good stuff like profit sharing, fuel bonus when they actually hired guys that could drive a stick or even down to getting you a blue truck that nobody could use but hey will slap a spark on the side of a truck “good job for making us more money.” so don't come at me with that “nonsense of I couldn't get hired.” OVERRATED PERIOD!!!

@@RushinTruckin I've never heard an official policy on recording while driving. So I can't really answer that. I have seen other channels do it, but I just don't know. I prefer not to even try it myself.
Is that sheet just for your records, or do you manually have to enter your numbers somewhere to get paid ? (Does walmart keep track of that, and pay you automatically)
@@jb3237 I do the sheet just for my own records, and to double-check their numbers against mine. They automatically track those numbers, but the computer is occasionally wrong, and it forgets to add or subtract something. So we have the ability to edit or change our activity pay when something is incorrect. That's why it's good to track and record your own stuff.
I worked for Walmart dc 6071 for around 5 years as a selector. Wanted to drive trucks so I quit to get my Cdl and 4 years later they are hiring my old co workers and paying for their Cdl while I’m sitting outside trying to drive for Walmart with plenty of experience and all they tell me is that they’re not hiring at the moment lol
And the associate to driver program is hard to get into. Been trying about to leave go get my cdl wirh prime inc and maybe try to come back in a few year's

@@hectorfernandez6748 Tobyhanna is a GM DC. I'm there often. There aren't many major differences in scheduling. The biggest difference between the two is that GM loads are always drop&hook at a single store, where grocery loads are sometimes live-unloads, and multi stops. You do get paid a little more for a live unload, but given the choice I would choose GM for the simplicity.
The biggest tip would be to be extra careful now to keep that license and safety record clean. You're almost there. Next I would say to pay special attention to every question on the application, and answer it carefully and honestly. They screen applicants very closely. @@RazorHog56 my average gross is a little higher, something like $2300 wk. Your take home will depend on multiple things. I live in NY, the highest taxed state in the nation, and also sink a ton into my 401k and company stock, so my take home is generally less than average.

It was only a few short years ago I was in your shoes. I've been working for Magnum LTD out of Fargo, ND since 2020. Dispatch, driver managers, shop people, etc are all easy to work with. I've been local in Chicago since 2022 which was my plan from the beginning. We have a terminal in Elk Grove, IL with parking. The trucks and trailers are well maintained. The trucks breakdown, it's just a fact of life. They will get you a tow or you hopefully can get to a shop. I've done it both ways, as others I know here. The pay is good, I don't know what mileage pay is now as I'm hourly, local. Check them out, maybe they will be a good fit for you, I do know they are hiring. I'm not a recruiter, just thought I'd pass along what I know. Anthony Waves is a Magnum driver currently doing videos, seems like a good guy, but I've yet to meet him at our yard. Best of luck.

I would suggest going with any of the larger mega-carriers to get good solid experience while under the security of a solid time-tested company. They have the freight, assets, and resources to allow you to reach your full potential. Once you gain the valuable experience, you can write your own ticket anywhere.

@@Hobo4Life They're always hiring because they're always growing, destroying the competition. With retail, online grocery pick up, and online ordering, the need for drivers keeps expanding. And they aren't depending on 3rd party carriers as much anymore, preferring instead to expand their own private fleet. It isn't rocket science.

This day was around 13 hours. I usually average about 12 hrs a day, or 60 hrs a week.
