I just passed onboarding 10-25-24 in Dover DE. It was intense, but this video helped a lot. We had some great facilitators as well. Thanks! Your the best
@@acupofjoetrucker255 congratulations!
Congratulations! Can you help with some questions? Were there any Amish horse rides on you drive test? Did you wait them or pass via solid line? About pre-trip timing. What time is counted? Some drivers said time starts from your first touch of truck. Is coupling and uncoupling time included in 30 mins pre-trip inspection? Do you have use flash light to see jaws are closed? Do you really check the breaks or just verbalize the process?
I am unable to find an opening near where I live in joliet illinois
@@sergiogloria1759 keep checking back often. New openings pop up all the time, but they may only be up for a day or two

You didnt use three ppints of contact when getting into the cab 😅 phone in hand 🤪 All in all great informative video. Thank you for easing my nervousness. Ive been driving for years and was nervous about the strictness of Walmats on-boarding but i already do all of this. Thank you again for this video.

For the associate to driver program. I see that a CLP and DOT physical is required is it okay if I get those before appliying? Also is it ok to do my ELDT, hazmat endorsement ahead of time as well? @@chrischillin6085 Yes. If you don't have it yet, they give you 90 days from hire together it.
Can we change the Walmart script into our own wording ?
@@DerrickMateo-g8w That will probably depend on which trainer you get, but typically they allow you some flexibility in how you word these things. However, I suggest you try to stick to the script as much as you can.
Right now I have 30 months experience if I count the 2 months I was driving with my trainer. Does that count towards the 30 required? I seriously cant wait to apply man
@@wanghaf_Gl0yper Apply now if you have the 30 months. They're looking for experience, and training counts.
I’ll probably email you here in a bit about activity pay. I applied and was contacted almost immediately to setup interview. CPM seems low and also received activity pay but don’t know how much this adds up. I really enjoy your videos.
@@CryoTrucker Sure, I'm happy to answer questions you have. Activity pay can generally make out to be about 25% of your overall pay. But that's going to vary from week to week, and DC to DC. The better number to focus on would be your annual gross pay, which factors in everything. You should average $110k and up to start
Good info. I had a super similar experience
Thanks for you videos, I watched this pre trip video daily for a month or so, thank you for ur help and info and the updated study guide, just completed onboarding in Laurens SC. Do you have a paper? Or do you have to me or rise eveyrthing you mentioned? How can I memorize all of that or is it just certain
@@Tay-bp4ph They give you a paper study guide to practice with. But you can't use it during the pre-trip test. You have to memorize it. You're allowed to miss eight items written in black, and zero items written in red. Here's a copy of it: drive.google.com/file/d/1FxLOsWFlgELtjPG8nSuY1u0CfNxngKb7/view?usp=drivesdk
Does Walmart allow you to bring girlfriend with you? How does that work I’ve never drive before but want to do associate to driver.. how does it work does she come with me to the truck or do I pick her up lol also does she stay in the truck when I’m going to get paper work how does this work
@@Tay-bp4ph yes you can bring a rider with you. She would have to come with you to the truck, or meet you at one of your stops. And she's not required to stay in the truck or anything.
@@getrichwalmart do you really have to remember everything you said in the pre trip or is it just some things
@@Tay-bp4ph yes, be prepared and have it all memorized. It isn't as hard as it sounds. Remember that a lot of the things you are saying are simply repeating the same things at different axles. You've now memorized all five.
I have no experience with how you feel. I am an Owner Operator. I wouldn't share my personal truck with other driver.

Do you know if the tobyhanna PA DC is grocery or GM. Also is there a major difference such as scheduling work type? Thanks
@@hectorfernandez6748 Tobyhanna is a GM DC. I'm there often. There aren't many major differences in scheduling. The biggest difference between the two is that GM loads are always drop&hook at a single store, where grocery loads are sometimes live-unloads, and multi stops. You do get paid a little more for a live unload, but given the choice I would choose GM for the simplicity.
@@getrichwalmart awesome thanks. That’s the closest one to me
Very informative! Love your videos.
Is the hard difficult part of the job ETD
@@francisvaliente599 The ETD isn't really all that difficult, in my opinion. Basically I just add up total miles and divide it by an average of 50 mph. Then I add an hour per stop if I'm live loading or unloading. That usually gives me a fairly accurate ETD, with a little cushion on the back end if I get delayed for some reason. Obviously there will sometimes be variables that come into play. Like if I'm going to Long Island, I'll always add an additional hour for the inevitable traffic I'll run into. I can always update or change the ETD at any time if something comes up. This is especially important on the last segment of the trip, when you want to tighten up the accuracy so dispatch knows what to do with you when you're done. Generally, they want to have you planned for your next load about an hour before your ETD, so that you have time to do whatever you need to do prior to leaving the gate at your ETD. That's why accuracy is important for you. If you leave too much cushion and get back way too early, you may not have a trip on you yet, and end up having to wait. That may cost you time & money. Unless of course you want that extra time cushion for whatever reason.
On my second week with the mentor rich. The table ETD and how to handle your time in order to get the truck running all the time is the part of the job. Any tips recommendations? Thanks
Rich, don’t let the haters bother you! They are just mad they don’t get $1000/quarter safety bonuses for 360 walk arounds 😂
Thanks for the video Rich! Just a heads up, I’m going through onboarding in Dover and now they don’t let you prep the truck beforehand. As soon as you touch to the truck to open the hood or doors they start the clock now.

@@markp1054 awesome, congratulations!
I just came across your videos and I am enjoying them. Thank you for the information. I will be going to my local community college for their CDL program.. I would love to work at Walmart but of course I know you have to have 2 1/2 years of experience if you’re an external hire😢 I feel if people want to complain because they are working for a company that wants them to practice safety on a regular basis, they shouldn’t be truck drivers. I see a lot of people on social media complaining that their carrier micromanages them and a lot of them are brand new drivers. I don’t get it. Why would you not want your company to help you be successful? Those people should not be truck drivers because they are as far as I’m concerned steering wheel holders.
Do they ever route you back home in the middle of the week? Or do you get a lot of the same routes every week?
@@jesus4everjesus4ever97 it's not uncommon to go back to your DC several times a day or week. It just all depends on where you are needed
