THE BEST BEATBOX 3:58 - Absolutely brilliant tutorial. Massive amount of thors I see! Thanks for the 'sheer and utter destruction'! Cracking on with reason now, brilliant!
One thing I love about your tutorials: you offer fantastic tips that aren't prescriptive. Even in this one, while showing the root structure of this style of music, you repeatedly mention that there are a variety of ways to achieve good results. Keep it up, man!
I'm fairly new to dubstep, I come from metal, death metal, that sort of stuff, and yeah, was thinking, in that song I'm writing it could be nice to have a more electric dubstep-like section, but I didn't know how to do it; and this video helped me out a lot! Great job, load of thanks ^^
Can you do a percussion tutorial? It would be really helpful. I love the snares in the beginning of the track. And I really want to know how to make snares like that. Love all your videos, keep up the great work!
@MikeyyBoy94 Basically I layered 3 or 4 thors with analog oscs and panned them all across the spectrum, then distorion and eq. Maybe I'll cover it in the future, but it will be a quick, small episode.
Great video! This has really helped :) I noticed that your track was clipping at some points. Just thought i would mention it incase you hadn't noticed haha
I've seen a similar video on dodge and fuski's channel and you explain this equally well! Quick question, the chords section for the outro, have you done a tutorial for those already? or are they pretty simple? If not, that maybe a good synth to do for your seriously sick synths videos:)
Hi mate! First, thanks a lot for this tuto very interesting! and wanted to know if it was possible that you do a tutorial on how to equalize a piano and a synthesizer as well in your music to dissociate them? Anyway Thanks you again!
awesome. Thanks for the tutorial, this is just what I needed. How did you learn about song structure and do you have any other recommendations for it? It's the part that gives me the most trouble--esp., when you sit there listening to the same shit over and over as you make your track, you start to loose perspective on the wholeness of your song = / .
7:42 it comes out sounding like he says "cause I'm a lazy fuckbutt" lololo0o0o0l. With that said, excellent and super informative tutorial on dubstep structure :)
Thx for this great tutorial! It's the best I've ever sawn. But I have a little question, how to get this fat drop (the red one)? My drop sounds usually very lax. Maybe you can explain how to make fat drops in a tutorial. I think the sum of instruments make it, but how?
Hi, first of all, your video tutorials are amazing, your knowledge of reason makes me angry with jealousy!! lol I noticed that your track is clipping, is this because you haven't mastered the track yet or do you not bother with making sure it doesn't clip as long as it sounds ok?? The reason I ask is because I recently started producing Dubstep and I always make sure the track doesn't clip, but sometimes this means sacrificing some frequencies. Does it matter if it clips if it sounds ok?
Trying to learn dub in a week and I know it's impossible.. Sucks I just came across dubstep about 4 months ago and I hate my self for not finding this earlier... It's simply to me the best music there is... Thx for the tips...
+S.M. Cloud (Summit Cloud) Make separate sections for each synth, i.e. make a sub, mid, and high clone of the same drop synth and your track, put them in their own channels and boost the good qualities on each with an eq. sounds phenomenal.
I have a question, ive seen at another video about song structure in electric music and dubstep, that the break is about around 50%? but here we have kind of 2 breaks, just another layout, is there no general thing?
no way! if you want to sell records you better focus on classic pop dance structure with just one special part! U go some like this=> intro> vers> (pre chorus)> chorus and like i said some parts that i would call complex synth trigger part!

Mad props mate. As a new producer this is immensely helpful and really well-presented.

at first i was mad reading you're comment, but was then met with utter enjoyment at the end lol.. well played.

Great help. Thanks for breaking it down in the simplest manner!
Thanks, this is super helpful. Quite a few of my songs just sound like unstructured messes, it is really nice to finally understand why.
Can you do a percussion tutorial? It would be really helpful. I love the snares in the beginning of the track. And I really want to know how to make snares like that. Love all your videos, keep up the great work!
one of the better tutorials on the youtubes! thanks please make more :)

It's all drums. I split them across several Kongs so I have more control over the levels.
Please make more videos like this!
@iMakemuzic The Vengeance samplepacks are excellent.
I've seen a similar video on dodge and fuski's channel and you explain this equally well! Quick question, the chords section for the outro, have you done a tutorial for those already? or are they pretty simple? If not, that maybe a good synth to do for your seriously sick synths videos:)
Thanks man! awesome track and mixdown too!
Great tutorial, very clear!
how did you make your synth so clean?
Great tutorial!
You should make tutorial how to make this sick synth starting from 2:06
@SoundGauge I like Clubsounds best, haven't tried the FX yet. Razor FX and Black FX from Primeloops are very solid, that I can tell you.
Hi mate! First, thanks a lot for this tuto very interesting! and wanted to know if it was possible that you do a tutorial on how to equalize a piano and a synthesizer as well in your music to dissociate them? Anyway Thanks you again!
How did you make the main synth in the buildup and make such a clean transition into the buildup. Make a tutorial if possible dawg
Super! very usefull

If you google the Funtcase master class, he gives a great reason tutorial to have control over the Kong designers and still keep it compact
On my SoundCloud. Check the description.
Thanks for the tutorials.
Could you make a tutorial on how to make the synth in 3:47 ?
7:42 it comes out sounding like he says "cause I'm a lazy fuckbutt" lololo0o0o0l. With that said, excellent and super informative tutorial on dubstep structure :)
jkrakenmusic acutally he said cause im a lazy fuck, but...

could you do a tutorial on tips for writing a melody like the one you used in this video?
@SoundGauge Anything from Vengeance is the bomb.
Can you please do more song structure videos like this but for other genres?
Thx for this great tutorial! It's the best I've ever sawn.
But I have a little question, how to get this fat drop (the red one)?
My drop sounds usually very lax. Maybe you can explain how to make fat drops in a tutorial.
I think the sum of instruments make it, but how?
nice tutorial man, thank you

That helped me out alot... Thanks very much
Sweet video, where's the piano patch from?
That tune sounds dope can you make a tutorial on that high pitched wub!
@DivinexOfficial I've been making all sorts of music, I don't know how long I've been making dubstep specifically.
"Cold Blue Steel" is in reference to guns, particularly from westerns.
respect sweet track
OMFG I LOVE THOSE DRUMS U NEED TO DO A TUT ON THOSE! can i plz have some drum samples?
Well done!
this guy is great !
Trying to learn dub in a week and I know it's impossible.. Sucks I just came across dubstep about 4 months ago and I hate my self for not finding this earlier... It's simply to me the best music there is... Thx for the tips...
Very nice tutorial! For how many years you produce music?

Thank you
tnx for this this tutorial man!

Nice thank you!
is that scream a metal slug sample!? awesome
Could you make a tutorial how to make an entire dubstep song?
Do you always add a sub and if so what does it play. Does the sub play a progression that's different from what the dub basses are doing?
Cheers!
how did you get started? (learning)
Really helpful. I do have a question, though. How do you get your drops to hit so hard? Mine always sound very empty or weak.
Mastering
+S.M. Cloud (Summit Cloud) Make separate sections for each synth, i.e. make a sub, mid, and high clone of the same drop synth and your track, put them in their own channels and boost the good qualities on each with an eq.
sounds phenomenal.
***** watch the latest video on my channel. I explain pretty well in it.
S.M. Cloud im sure they sound much better now 2 years later
sometimes you have to go skrillex. lots of synths and obviously mixing and mastering.
But within the 16 bars what do you do?
1:25 holy shit a dj is gonna play my song :D
teach us about that snare!! please.
Can I know what is the name of this song?
I have a question, ive seen at another video about song structure in electric music and dubstep, that the break is about around 50%? but here we have kind of 2 breaks, just another layout, is there no general thing?
how much time did you put into this song?
very good adivce indeed sir!
RED FOR BLOOD DESTRUCTION!!!!
Heck YEAH !!
@tomsennitt Intended. Watch my mastering video.
This song totally reminds me of Ghosts 'n Stuff during the breakdown haha
The best part was when you say "Asparagus"! =D
no way! if you want to sell records you better focus on classic pop dance structure with just one special part!
U go some like this=> intro> vers> (pre chorus)> chorus and like i said some parts that i would call complex synth trigger part!
@ODSTHelljumper Thumbs up!
