your tutorial was well put together, informational, and easy to follow! thank you so much for sharing with us!! have you done a tutorial on how to pan music left and right to give it a dynamic/moving sound?
nipples mccormick on the mix chanel bar for the instrument that you want to pan, there should be a pan knob that you just right click and edit the automation.
I can't make dubstep with reason, I can't get the sounds I want, that others use. hopefully i'll figure it out, but I don't hear anyone else creating great basses, this bass in this video is def. the best i've heard. props
These are all Reason specific patches and devices. You could probably find similar VST based plugins that follow the same general ideas as Thor, or even by messing with certain synthesizer parameters in Ableton. However, for these videos, unless specified otherwise, all of the devices are exclusive to Reason.
can u make more tutorials like this ur amazin... and could u do a tutorial on the other bass patch please??? if i get a responce from someone at propellerhead ill die a happy man!
i noticed you have a "thor 3 copy" and its sequenced similar to the bass patch, except you are automating the amplifier gain. is this the high pitched sound in between the bass growl? or something for the actual bass? by the way, great tutorial. props on the feature
Are all the plugins used in this video in Reason? I use Ableton and i could probably just transfer what your saying to other plugins but i want it to be exact. Either way if they are part of Reason or not is there a place to download or purchase them online? Thanks.
Set your bar scale to 1/64 and either click the "zoom in" button, or drag the left and right handles on the focus region, or hold Ctrl+Shift and Mouse Wheel up. All of this is in the manual, read it!
I just got the program, and ive looked through almost every button and menu and I can't figure out how you got the notes at 1:18 I drew the notes with the pencil thing but they don't make any noise when I play it. What else do I do to make them play sound.
how did you do the drums? I want to know how to do them, cause mine sound like absolute crap at the moment! Please do a tutorial for them? Thumbs up for a dubstep drum tutorial?
need some serious help here upto the part where i'm drawing in the automation of the filter cut off frequency anyway i cant seem to be able to draw dots at 1/64 it won't zoom in enough or something when i change from 1/32 to 1/64 there is no change to the amount of spaces i can draw if that makes sense
can you zoom in more in reason 6 as i cant get the fast filter rythm that you get when automating cutoff following your tutorial guidelines my snap is set to 32 and i zoomed in as much as i could but when i tried recreating your filter rythm(just for the sake of following the tutorial) it was twice as slow (waa waa instead of wa wa wa wa) So i was curious if anyone knows that they let you zoom in more on reason 6 or am i just missing something? cheers : )
its basically the same thing with all synths. start with the oscillator. wobbles come from frequency filter and is modulated by an LFO usually. but in this case hes doing it with automation.
Nice... What reason really needs is a spectrum analyzer to see exactly what frequencies are the loudest... would make it way easier to EQ to the greatest effect
I am doing everything your're doing but i am not hearing any sound am i suppose to put notes in before or something if so please direct me to a video that can show me how please ... i am new to reason
so ive been having trouble with my bass when putting it all together its clashing and and making the bass have a cracking sound that doesent go with the song im working on any advice?
hey peeps thanks for the help but i already got it i just put wavs i made into redrum and pump it :P works perfect. i will try all the other variations as well and i already did the oscillating thing but you cant do that with all tones deepends on the modulation. cause i dont always make tones that work as machinegun bass or whatever you wanna call it
This is basically what I've been doing for quite a while to make my dubstep wobbles. It works great!
Thank God for this video. Just helped me finish this amazing beat for a song.
That break tho! 0:35
Dourincourt is a god among men. Been watching his videos for a long time, it's great to see him being featured by propellerhead. He deserves it.
"Let's start from scratch, and build the patch!" I don't know why I find that Funny..
Anyways, great Tutorial!
Because you find it feeling comfortable because of harmonics in the sentence
Steve Jobs I didn`t mean literally...
Tutorialcourt really deserved this feature !!! hope more vids are to come
Nice tut! Any chance of a tut on that awesome lead synth from the song too?
First of all this is an amazing riff you wrote there. Thanks so much for your tutorial, it seems that reason has excellent capabilities.
Dude that drop literally gave me chills. Love it!
that is a ridiculously good sound
at last an official reason tutorial that is contemporary. very nice!
This Max guy is my hero.
Great job, Dorincourt. Letting us see the parameter automation values was really helpful :D
Excellent tutorial there. Love the EQ tips on that finish. Thanks!!
@4:35 the bass sounds quite exquisite!
Thor 3 Copy is the subbass. Filtering has next to no effect on sine waves, so I automate the amp gain to get it to wobble.
Looking forward hearing the finished song - sounds EPIC - awesome video! Great EQ tips too!

Easy to reproduce, easy to understand, perfect tutorial, THX!

Dorincourt! Never fails to please !
hello
can u make more tutorials like this ur amazin... and could u do a tutorial on the other bass patch please??? if i get a responce from someone at propellerhead ill die a happy man!
so simple but so awesome
@Randydisc You can do this in Reason 5 keep trying it out you'll make something Kool either way!
That has to be one of the sickest dubstep songs I've ever heard! please let me download that! where can I go.
Dorin your fame has made your voice twice as awesome
If yours is sounding really high-end heavy, bring down the Filter ENV knob below the frequency knob down to about 15 to get it to sound more like his.
Sick!!!
i noticed you have a "thor 3 copy" and its sequenced similar to the bass patch, except you are automating the amplifier gain. is this the high pitched sound in between the bass growl? or something for the actual bass? by the way, great tutorial. props on the feature
PROPLRHAD Y U NO LINK DNORICNUT CHANEL IN DECRITION?! ;)
ALSO, MAX U BETU NAT LAEVE ME WEN UR AL FAMUZ.
OR I CREY.
I like this tutorial!
That roaring bass reminds me of the roaring bass from Skrillex "bangarang" Good job.
i finally found a tutorial for that sound :D
thanks soooo much!
that is real sick dubstep
I've been subbed to Dorincourt for a loooong time, and I never knew his name was Max! My name's Max too...
Are all the plugins used in this video in Reason? I use Ableton and i could probably just transfer what your saying to other plugins but i want it to be exact. Either way if they are part of Reason or not is there a place to download or purchase them online? Thanks.
that song is bad ass man, where can i find a DL of the entire track?
Max could you tell how you get the notes to clip & not constantly sustain??? I understand the automation but not how you have prepared the notes.
Nice!!
This beat is sick AF.
wow, one of the best bass tutorials i've seen yet, too bad i don't use reason
Dorincourt! Release that track! Shut up and take my money! Haha perfect tutorial as usual, if I could subscribe twice I would!
Thank you "Roar-incourt" !
Set your bar scale to 1/64 and either click the "zoom in" button, or drag the left and right handles on the focus region, or hold Ctrl+Shift and Mouse Wheel up. All of this is in the manual, read it!
Thanks!
nice - thanks!
What did you use for the first bass? The melodic one?
I just got the program, and ive looked through almost every button and menu and I can't figure out how you got the notes at 1:18 I drew the notes with the pencil thing but they don't make any noise when I play it. What else do I do to make them play sound.
why. does. my. spacebar. place. dots. at. the. end. of. each. word.
how did you do the drums? I want to know how to do them, cause mine sound like absolute crap at the moment! Please do a tutorial for them? Thumbs up for a dubstep drum tutorial?

I Have A Question, Is There Any Way Possible I Can See Sound Waves In Reason 5????
the best thing about reason is that you can undo everything even the rack extension setting...
How do you zoom in to the extent that you do in reason 5 at 2:02 in the video?
when I just heard your voice, I was thinking "this voice is really familar :D "
yeah ODSThelljumper @ official reason vid !!!! :D
Very cool tutorial! Thanx! :-)
Thanx!
maybe a strange question but how do you zoom in so deep on the automization qt 2:00
can you zoom in more in reason 6 as i cant get the fast filter rythm that you get when automating cutoff following your tutorial guidelines my snap is set to 32 and i zoomed in as much as i could but when i tried recreating your filter rythm(just for the sake of following the tutorial) it was twice as slow (waa waa instead of wa wa wa wa) So i was curious if anyone knows that they let you zoom in more on reason 6 or am i just missing something? cheers : )
What was the note/note type that you used?
its basically the same thing with all synths. start with the oscillator. wobbles come from frequency filter and is modulated by an LFO usually. but in this case hes doing it with automation.
what program is this?
Nice... What reason really needs is a spectrum analyzer to see exactly what frequencies are the loudest... would make it way easier to EQ to the greatest effect
Propellerheads Reason 6.5
What program is this
I don't like this tutorial, i LOVE this tutorial. Finally, some tutorials that audition each and every change made so you can hear the differences!
I am doing everything your're doing but i am not hearing any sound am i suppose to put notes in before or something if so please direct me to a video that can show me how please ... i am new to reason
hello what is the sound you use in thor ?
so ive been having trouble with my bass when putting it all together its clashing and and making the bass have a cracking sound that doesent go with the song im working on any advice?
What is the name of the track? Was it released somewhere or not?
If you import it as audio file, yes.
hey peeps thanks for the help but i already got it i just put wavs i made into redrum and pump it :P works perfect.
i will try all the other variations as well and i already did the oscillating thing but you cant do that with all tones deepends on the modulation. cause i dont always make tones that work as machinegun bass or whatever you wanna call it
Does anyone know how to zoom in as far as Dorincourt at 2:02?
RIP legend
It's not letting me place my automation anchor points with the pen after I alt ckick my freq any ideas ?
Instead of alt clicking try right clicking without alt and select "edit automation"
Instead of alt clicking try right clicking without alt and select "edit automation"

thanks mate :)
can i show us how to use it even thoughu kinda did mine sounds really hte noisy
Propellercourt!
I agree. Link this this kid.
How do I get rid of the sub bass reverb/delay from the synth?
Mine sounded incredibly high pitched although I followed all of the steps, does anyone know why or have any guesses as to why it's sounding like that?
Nice'!
what tune is this?
What's the program called
Reason 7
+AnSwegMaster will this tutorial still have the same SWEG in reason 5
