    Love your videos. Could you please make a video where you recommend songs? These kind of videos help me find new songs to listen to and to sing in my voice lessons

    I’m always trying to expand my book, but it’s hard finding songs when you’re a lower range alto. Most of my book is the prom and avenue q

      I really encourage you to dig into some older shows - they seemed to utilize those beautiful alto voices much more often than shows today do. Specifically, check out anything from Winifred in Once Upon a Mattress! Little Red's 'I Know Things Now' is also great (and not too mature, depending on your age range). She Loves Me, Bye Bye Birdie, and Anything Goes also have fabulous options.

    Congrats on the move! Are you still teaching? I miss your content directed toward teachers!

      Thank you! I’m actually planning some more Theatre Ed. content as we speak! :) Striking that balance between serving students and fellow teachers with my content is tough, I would love any input on the content you would like to see.
      Because we moved mid-year I’m not teaching this school year 😞, my state doesn’t allow teachers to resign mid-year without being deployed or having major health issues, but I’m excited to jump into the local community theatre until a position opens up! ☺️

      @@cayleejo I hope things work out for you with community theatre and a new position! I would love videos with ideas for good curriculum and strong scope/sequence when curriculum is coming from a variety of sources. Building classroom culture, creative solutions for common school program challenges… that’s all I can think of at the moment!

    What would be some good song ideas for young Cosette?

    • @cayleejo
      @cayleejo  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would try something from Annie, any Little Red songs from Into the Woods, but my top choice would be something from a Little Princess ♥️ it is a terribly underrated musical that I think really speaks to young Cosette’s character as well!

    Hi! Could you in your next video talk about Peter pan JR and compare it with Peter pan the musical? Because I am currently in a production of Peter pan JR!!

    What in-show song should I choose for Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz? Im a soprano. Should I stick with Somewhere Over the Rainbow or should I pick something else? Our teacher made a requirement for it to be in-show. Thank you!

      The only other option I would consider is the Somewhere Over the Rainbow Reprise - I believe it’s a duet with Aunt Em. My thinking is this - SOTR is THE most important song in the show. I directed this show in April 2023 and I listened to 50+ girls sing this song, but when I heard the girl who would end up being our Dorothy sing the song I had no doubt the role was hers♥️.
