    THEY FIXED IT! Thank you! I got the Magnus Pro and assembled it. IT'S NOT WOBBLING much AT ALL at standing height. I'm 6'2'' and I have 2 monitors set up on arms (ergotron dual). There's enough space for the arm and the lid closes. I have a mic stand on the side. Why am I talking about the Secretlab Magnus on a Deskhaus channel? Oh, wait...coz you did, Corona boy.

      @@gup5845 I just got the Magnus Pro XL.....it may very well be my favorite piece of furniture. I love it. I haven't had any stability issues whatsoever. I also really love the accessories and I'll probably get a couple more. It's heavy as hell. I don't ever want to move because packing this thing up would not be fun.

      @@gup5845 Yes I did. It only wobbles to a "noticing point" when it's at max height. So, at 125 I notice it. At 115, not much at all. Not more than my previous table, so for the price, I'd say it's worth it, for my use of it. Sit, stand, every 30 mins. Veeery quiet, cable free. The power supply works very well. All good!

    Hmm a manufacturer testing the sturdiness of their own product vs the competition. I wonder what the outcome is going to be..
    I've tested the Magnus pro XL for a day at a friends house and it was solid to me. Im a tall guy so tried the max height and it did not wobble when working behind the desk. Don't know what you did to that Magnus desk you got there or maybe you have a flawed one. Or maybe they fixed the wobble now, this video is almost 9 months old. Havent tried your product so I don't know how good a Deskhaus is, im not in a position to judge which is better. This whole thing just looks a bit fishy to me.

    If these videos have convinced me of one thing it's that I should get neither a secret labs, nor a deskhaus. At this price point I'd much rather buy from a company with mature representatives and marketing that stands by its own merit rather than relying on picking the worst competition to go against to seem supreme.

  • @JonathanShook

    What was that at 4:30? A mica top under a glass bottle lets it slide around instead of spinning and tilting over easily. I don't think you would do that with a foam mat below it and get the same result. I haven't decided which desk I'm going for yet, but I call shenanigans on that "test".

  • @jimmytimber7074
    @jimmytimber7074 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    My secret lab doesn't wobble anywhere near that much. Yes it has wobble but nothing im concerned about. All 3 look like great desks but the cable management makes the secret lab worth it. The only cable you see on my set up is the power cord. I fit my monitor brick,power strip, hdmi cables,usb cables and there is still room for alot more. Im not drinking a beer anywhere near my 4k rig anyways. You get what you pay for and you're paying for a high quality desk with the best cable management and the cleanest looking. I couldn't imagine going back to a desk with a cable mess. Its not perfect but its pretty close.

  • @LukeR1M
    @LukeR1M 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    I'm not an engineer but seeing the upside-down column on the magnus pro is baffling to me. It only puts more weight on the top instead of the bottom, making it more unstable. There is already a lot more weight distribution on top as is. Why would they design it like that?
    Not to mention the monitor arm clamp being so much closer to the user actively limiting desk space and putting monitor too close to the user.
    What an overpriced garbage.
    I can get a better electric desk at my local manufacturer for literally $250 here in Europe. Including cable management.

    This is bad marketing however you look at it, even if all this is true, you are spending your time crapping on a competitor and giving them more publicity rather than innovating your own product to compete with them because there are things that they've done that consumers want. There's a way of criticizing without coming off as arrogant also, but you are coming off as arrogant which isn't a good look for your company. Just my two cents, good luck with the business.

      I’m not sure I understand how comparing your fixed height desk really comes into play here.
      Unfortunately most people never stand at their standing desk due to the movement of it. This shakes their monitor and can become extremely distracting.
      We like to sell things frames/desks that will allow you to actually enjoy your time standing.
      Buy an apex pro. Use your existing top. I promise you even at sitting height it will be more stable than your current desk. If it’s not return it. Then you can tell the world how ridiculous we really are.

    It's no surprise that a table with 4 legs is more resilient. Especially since it has a square tube profile. But quality tables on two legs are cheaper as a matter of course with the same quality. Exceptions are super expensive tables, for 3000+ dollars. Which have two aluminum legs with a complex profile. They'll be the most stable. Maybe someone will start making inexpensive tables with an aluminum profile. But for now, four legs are more stable. Many companies have started to make four-legged tables. Using the same OEM legs...
    People are defending what they spent money on. Hence the reaction.

    I get. I understand your complaints. I currently have a Linak which I do like and have no real complaints. I am also one of those "short people" at only 166cm. But what I want is a desk that completely manages my kit / setup. I don't want to see a single cable. I huge problem is with a way to mount a proper modern PC under the desk. We are talking 30cm width with 56cm height... think Lian Li O11D. But 99% of all mounts only accept small computers that can never hold modern mid to high level components.
    Sadly, your company does not have such. A few do, but again they are of an unusable size. I assume you are not an ODM, but you can speak to why your own desks fall very short of the needs of serious professionals. I have been searching hard for a solution and I am willing to pay the money for it. So far no one has. Herman Miller? no! Linak (ODM) no!, Flexispot? useless. Fully, Ikea, name whoever.
    Personally I think the industry has failed immensely.

  • @MrUltraDreamz
    @MrUltraDreamz ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I can see the issue with it being wobbly, but to be fair the desk is more gamer influenced and is clearly marketed to people like streamers and gamers. The height adjustability to me is very useful for people who play games that use a lot of different controllers, aka steering wheels, joy sticks, and then keyboard/mouse. its frustrating having a fixed desk, especially for steering wheel controllers that clamp to the desk, because the height you want the steering wheel is different than the height you want for normal keyboard/mouse use. Same goes for space sims/flight sims, you can really dial in the height at where you want the joysticks/throttle to be at and where your arms are resting so its not uncomfortable. The standing feature is good, but for me that's not the reason I want a motorized desk so I really don't worry about it being wobbly at high heights.

    I would've hated to know that I spent north of a 1000 on that desk and it wobbles like that. I don't think Deskhaus is in Australia yet, but atleast I am not wasting my money on secret lab's desk.
    They do have a great cable management but realistically how many times a week are you plugin and unplugging your whole PC. I usually maybee change something once a month. I have a $20 wire tray from Ikea under my desk and I have 0 cables hanging/visible unless you look under it. Maybe a more enclosed one would be better for a standing desk but either way, that price tag and that wobble wobble are a no go lol. And I hate it cause I love their overall design.

      I don't think $1000 is a lot to spend on a desk. Look at Argosy desks or BDI sit/ stand desks. $1000 is cheap compared to those.

    Every review that I’ve seen that does a stability test at full height have mentioned the same issues you have. Reviews that have been sponsored by Secret Lab don’t mention the stability issues. Go figure.
    You clearly make a superior desk so all you need to do is add some of the cool features like the PC leg mount and the in leg power. Do that and you will own the magnus.

    • @Demon09-_-
      @Demon09-_- ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that would be amazing tbh. But I figure they are looking to capture the work desk vibe and avoid all the R&D needed to design the rest of their desk.

    Was going to order the Magnus pro mainly just because of that power in leg feature, now better off either waiting til they fix their issues which isn’t likely or order something else.

    Your desks are good I had one, but this behaviour is embarrassing, and you keep comparing a four leg with a two leg. Both two legs you demo'd were non scientifically shook/stressed by you not a robot or mechanical arm which can be set to apply equal force therefore the video is pointless

    IF your desk had eye appeal it might sell better. Shaking it at higher heights...wouldn't really care if it looks like secret labs desk, that thing looks sweet, but your desk... it looks like an IKEA special, sry. And that ugly as sin cable track...like wtf dude. I would buy the secret labs one on looks and cable management alone. With the not so nice looking Apex the control looks cheap, and the cables all hanging underneath would be a deal breaker.
