Thank you for this review. I’ve been wanting to build my own desk for quite awhile since working 100% remote and this video helped me so much! It definitely validated and answered many of the concerns I had with the various desk bases and the other options of buying a whole pre-made desk. I just bought the apex pro with your discount code- I appreciate the saving a few dollars and more than happy to support you in creating great videos like this one :)
I bought the Apex Pro from Desk Haus over a year ago (price has gone up since). I love the thing. It's a tank and there have been no issues. I am using a 72x30 dark rubberwood butcher block from Lowes. Best investment ever.
How was installation for your butcher block from Lowe's? Just used the wood screws included with the Apex Pro and drilled them directly into the butcher block? Pilot holes? Thx in advance!
It was like that for the better part of 2 years. I finally managed to get to a point where I have a studio...full of desks and chairs. Every day I walk through the maze of chairs and desks and look at my monthly bill for my studio and wonder...why didn't I just review gaming mice!!?!?
I waited for a sale and got the 60"x30" from Vari for under $600 with tax. I use it around 45" when standing and it is very stable. No wobble unless I'm actively trying to shake the desk; even then I only get a little monitor shake. The Deskhaus 20-year leg warranty is pretty sick though.
I just ordered the DeskHaus Apex Pro because of you. Thank you for making this video and enabling me to get a $50 discount (since I used your code). I can't wait to get the frame and put my desk together.
First of all, thank YOU for the kind words. Also, using my coupon earns me small commission, which helps me keep making videos like these. Thank you!!!! And I know you’re gonna love it!!
@@Ahnestly I mean, I thought it was pretty clear that I was joking but if you felt the need to defend yourself by behaving perfunctory as a response now im suspicious 👀
@@decisive-dolphinIts always difficult to tell whether a comment is being hostile or joking. More so bc it was like 4 words! I admit, I did assume your comment was hostile to the OP who was showing kindness. Because of that, my comment was asking “why do you feel the need to be hostile to someone who’s being kind?”, but also, I was genuinely hoping your days would be filled with kindness! I prob misread your comment bc I’m dumb (I had to look up ‘perfunctory’ lol). In any case, I saw you commented on my other vid and thank you for your support. I hope the stability test at the end of this video speaks for itself and let me know how you like it!
Flexispot makes the E7Q "Odin" now that also has the quad motor quad leg design, and it's arguably even more robust than this design because the legs are pushed all the way out to the corners of the frame. AND it goes just as low as this desk. I'd love to see a comparison between that and the Deskhaus Apex Pro.
@allen7615 the starting price of uplift 4 leg with laminate top (30x60) is $1,200. Desk Haus with a real rubber wood top (30x60) is $1052 with my code ($1,100 without code). The Evodesk is over 2x the price. Looks fancy, but quite pricey! Other factors to consider: Desk Haus is made in America and In terms of warranty and customer service, I’ve seen desk haus really active on both Standing Desk and Desk Haus forums. Uplift is not made in America, not sure what their customer service is like. I don’t know much about Evodesk unfortunately!
Yes, those double legs really make it sturdy. The other critical component is the horizontal brace that connects the legs. My Uplift Conference Desk is like that, only the legs are spaced further apart than the Deskhaus which makes it even more sturdy!
I appreciate the review, but it's unfortunate that Deskhaus has their reviews managed by such an unprofessional individual. The review on the Magnus Pro XL was particularly disappointing; their attitude was so poor that I felt embarrassed for them. While their desks appear to be nice, I can't support a company that responds to criticism with insults and disparaging remarks, especially when it concerns products significantly cheaper than their top-of-the-line offerings. It’s quite off-putting.
Which review are you referring to? I’m considering getting a Deskhaus and it’s a bit unsettling how much positivity there is out there for this brand, odd that I can’t find unsatisfied reviewers at all. I’m curious to hear an alternative perspective before I make my decision
@@marcellofrisina6460 th-cam.com/video/1P_1RbL58rc/w-d-xo.html Everyone has their own reviews towards a product, whether they like it or not is fine, but how you respond and represent yourself in your own videos is another problem in and of itself, especially coming from a business. In this video, his snarky remarks to others is especially disappointing considering how he could respond being a business and all.
@@marcellofrisina6460 There is a video on youtube where the Deskhouse guy literally sh*t talks the magnus pro like a 6 year old kid. Its very immature and awkward. Ill never buy something from a company who does marketing this way.
@@jdsd_ Yeah I’ve been checking out the Deskhaus page and it’s all absurdly biased content. I actually haven’t been able to find a SINGLE non-biased review of a standing desk. They’re all sponsored. Like you said, Deskhaus’ page is obviously biased and full of showmanship, and Flexispot is probably the worst when it comes to planting biased reviews. It’s been a strange and frustrating experience trying to buy a standing desk, that’s for sure
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I think I watched this video with my husband three times when trying to decide between two options. Your review PLUS the facts on the desk themselves made DeskHaus the CLEAR winner. We used your code to thank you for helping us decide when we picked out the Apex Pro. We ordered one with larger feet so that it would hold a desk top up to 39 inches deep with a 20 day lead time late on December 18th. Imagine my shock when I received an email from them today saying it was out for delivery TODAY! It is coming so early we don't even have a top for it yet! We're going to pick up and cut a 4x8 MDF board until we can make a final decision about what we're buying for the top (but think we're going with a Teak Butcher Block cut to 36 to 60).
Incredible. I was considering pulling the trigger on the Magnus, but now I'm sold on getting an Apex Pro and using is it to build the perfect setup for my needs. Kudos
Hi @ahnestly!! A wonderful review! I just wanted to ask, could you let us know what size is your table top and where did you buy it? I really like the size of it but when I clicked on the coupon of them offering it, it is empty :( any feedback is appreciated! Thank you!
I’m glad someone is finally bringing Deskhaus to the conversation. I’ve had their Apex Pro with a walnut butcher block island countertop for almost 2 years now and it’s blown every other desk I’ve had out of the water. So much so I’ve sold my Fully Jarvis and will be making mine into an L shaped version
Great review! Did I miss you going over measurements? I didn't see how one gets a custom top from them as opposed to the prefab blocks, but how difficult would it be to drill and install your own custom wooden top? 30" depth is too little, 36" is much better
Hey! I don't think they offer custom tops, but you could always reach out to their customer service and see if they do it. Installing your own desktop is SUPER easy. align the desk how you want it, then just screw in from the bottom. This is the main benefit - you don't need to buy a top from them, can go get your own cheapo one from Ikea or crazy uber expensive end game one elsewhere!
@@Ahnestly Wow ok awesome!! One final thing, do you know what thickness a butcher block should have for this purpose and why? 1.5" +? Is there any advantage to thicker blocks other than higher weight capacity? Seems like a block that size would weigh ~100lbs, while the deskhaus legs can hold 650
@@thunderstar254 Thicker is usually better if you're going to weigh it down. A thinner top will flex easier than a thicker one. 1.5" sounds great as a minimum!
I would imagined the L-shaped desks are much, much more stable by the nature of their geometry. Would love to see your reviews on these. Btw, this video was an eye opener. Thank you for your top notch review and Ahnesty. :-)
I, myself, am looking at the Fezibo Triple Motor L-shaped 63 with the Ergonomic Monitor stand shelf that goes the full L. Yes, it's a budget model but still at the $500-$600 range. Would love to hear what you have to say about this.
I wish I could say definitively, but I'm not sure! I do imagine it would help though, but I'm always surprised by the things I find when actually testing!
I'm really debating on buying a desk like this... I was thinking secret labs. but you just sold me on this desk. I currently have this wooden desk, that is split in the middle. It's not horrible but my brother complains about how you can't put your legs under it. So, I'm patiently waiting and looking for the perfect desk. And I think you just introduced me to the future of my house's new furniture. and for that. Thank You!!
Bless you bless you bless you!!!! Yes I have a computer but it’s connected to very expensive, sensitive electronics. I am not a content creator but very similar needs to stand a lot mainly because of a handy cap that standing is the best for me. Everything I have seen , wouldn’t call them junk , but the wiggling is far too much especially for what they are asking. So yes they are junk for what they are asking for them . Not looking for low cost looking for a great product at a fair price. And the DESKHAUS looks like exactly what might fit my needs and pocket book. And coincidentally they are made only 30 miles North of me in Western Michigan. A win win. Thank you so much for making this great honest video . Greg
Nice!! You should email Chris and ask if you can visit his warehouse! When I went, he showed me all the standing desks from the various brands and we did shake comparisons. It was wild - even the $1,000+ desks from Steelcase, Herman Miller, etc - all wobbly!!
@@Ahnestlytalked to Derek today and friend driving me to get there 30x60 Apex Pro Max with a butcher board top in two days. Thank you again for your review and sending me to the best of the best.
What about the Nolan from Fully that has 4 regular post legs? I'm asking because it's the prettiest desk BY FAR! It's THE only standing desk that looks like a normal desk and not like an office desk
I have an Apex Pro since 2022 and it has been great. Got it in a closeout package with a top and a free power outlet. Mounted 2 dual monitor Monoprice arms and hung my mid-tower PC off the top on one end.
That's a great review, thanks! Got the Apex Pros for my wife's office - I'm super jealous, I want a set for myself now, but I already finished my set up.
Thanks for this info. I’ve been looking at getting the Samsung ARK monitor & have been hesitant due to the stability, weight capacity & desktop size options. However you just pointed me in the right direction to solve all my problems!!
You said that the most stable is not necessarily the most expensive in the beginning, but Apex Pro legs alone are almost $1k add to that another ~$1k for the top, that's ~$2k without any accessory.
You don’t have to buy a table top from desk haus. Thats the beauty of it. You can buy a $20 table top from ikea if you wanted and just install it (literally just screw it in from the bottom). The $1k table top is a real wood table top - you can purchase something like this at a later time. What you won’t be able to purchase is more stable legs.
Do you have any insight into regular (not standing) desks with a wooden top? With the standing desk hype it's hard to find that more simple option with a nice wood finished top.
A 20-year warranty is nice idea, but keep in that when a company goes out of business, its warranties and services often die unless other agreements have been made. Deskhaus was founded in 2020. I do hope they will be around in 20 years to honour their warranty!
This is a good question and I'm not sure what the answer is. The finish is slightly sheen, but I don't ever feel comfortable leaving a glass of water bare on top of any wood surface. I always use a coaster!
more weight would shift the center of gravity UP and the higher it is the more you got to unstable equilibrium. This is school level physics. Why would anyone assume it would be stable equilibrium ? This is also why CARS try to keep the CG low to attain better equilibrium
You say the desk only goes does down to 24.5". I just checked mine and the paddle displayed it was 23" and when I measured it, it was 23" (with my 1" top). It's a great desk.
6/24/2024 - Like your style and how you keep it real. Looking for a stand up desk for my 6' boyfriend who works from home and his 50 year-ol body needs a better way to spend 8 hours each day. He sits. I love the stability point - so true. Thank you for being you and providing these fun video reviews. (Tennessee)
nice vid brother!! I actually purchased the frame back in January and have not purchased a table top yet. I want one of theirs, but will need to pay for that later! But love these desks and their brand!! Such a solid brand!!!
Have you considered a slick glass desktop? I might do that. I would cut it so only the main section, including area with the monitors needs to rise up...maybe a nice 48" wide section. No need to stress the motors lifting a 60" or wider area everyday if it is not necessary IMO.
When looking for a new office or gaming setup item I always watch your videos. While these desks. I'm looking for a long table at least 72 in or 80" x 30 wide is there a brand that you would recommend?
Hey! Thanks for the super kind words!! Depends on what you're looking for. If a budget option, I believe Ikea has a couple options. Home Depot/Lowes may have some options too for particleboard I think. If you want solid wood, Desk Haus has their solid wood top (which you see in my video), which isn't cheap, but usually cheaper than boutique custom table top shops (since it's produced in mass). Highest tier option is to get it made at a boutique/wood shop!
@@jessecostello1406 I'm confused haha. Desk Haus Apex Pro + buying a 72x30 or 80x30 tabletop from another place is my go-to if you want most sturdy + solid customer service. Secretlab was shockingly unstable. Flexispot customer service is reported to be pretty awful. Uplift costs more than Desk Haus, but not as stable.
No thank you for you're always such wonderful timely replies. So if it comes down actually purchasing one thats put together already I think I will be staying with the uplift.
I am 6'3" (real world, not just tinder) and trying to find anything that didnt want to topple is nearly impossible. After driving as far as 2 hours away to try different desks out I found that only the U or L shaped style desks stand a chance.
I have been doing TONS of research on standing desks these past few days and settled on Deskhaus for their appearance of quality and care... but I cannot for the life of me find any comparisons between the Apex Pro (34 legs from this video) against the Apex (just two legs). There is a ~$400 price difference between two frames. Im 5'8" so the desks would probably need to be go up to ~43". Im not super stressed about some shake (I have an awful and shaky ikea normal desk and its never bothered me much). I decided to "risk" the two leg apex model and will update this comment on my findings and keep it ahnest.
I recently bought an Uplift Adjustable Height Conference Desk - 8' x 3'-6" (96" x 42")with bamboo top. It's expandable to 9' x 3'-6" (108" x 42"). I have the expansion leaf but my room would be too cramped at the 9' length. I added heavy-duty casters so I can move the desk around. The desk is absolutely rock solid and sturdy. It has 4 heavy metal legs and horizontal support bars connecting two legs on each side. The desk is so heavy the instructions recommended that 4 people flip it over. I flipped in on my own but it was quite challenging. Shipping was amazing with everything properly padded and protected. The electrical operation is super smooth and I added a Bluetooth dongle so it can be controlled by an Android or iPhone. It all just works. If my room was larger I would have gotten the 9' x 5' (108" x 60") ping pong version. But my desk is big enough for back-to-back 48" OLED screens so I can sit on either side of the desk. The desk is freestanding. I want to do a review when everything is all set up because it is really something to see.
Happy for you! The biggest difference here between uplift and deskhaus is really the price, warranty, and where it’s made. After all, if it has 4 legs, well, they’re all gonna be similar! Hope you enjoy your setup!
I'm actually in shock about the Magnus Pro, I basically had my credit card in hand to buy it but didn't even think it would be so unstable. Stability in the desk is top priority for me as you mentioned, I have tens of thousands of dollars of equipment on my desk and use it every day for long periods of time.
I'm sure this is a beautiful desk but I have a Vivo desk that has served me well. It doesn't wobble unless I put weight behind it, it goes low, rises to a comfortable height, has presets, and you can buy accessories for it including wheels but note that wheels will rise the top by a few inches. It's less expensive but I am satisfied. I guess one should check out a variety.
Definitely. One thing that doesn't get discussed a lot in these reviews is exactly how you are using the desk. In my case I work in information technology and I have a laptop with a dock and a monitor. One monitor. It's all very light and all I want is something that is functional and good quality. I'm not looking for something that can lift 140 lb of Hardware up and down LOL
The major point of this video was to just showcase that paying a premium for “well known” desk brands (aka those that spend lots of $ on ads) does not get you a better desk when it comes to stability for people above 5’8. You can see in the tests with the other desks don’t have much weight on them, and they still wobble that hard!!
@Ahnestly great video. I'm looking to DIY a standing desk my self. I was just so captivated the entire time by your monitor though. What is? Brand, model... Can you share a link for more details?

I think people who are looking at these desks are individuals like myself who work from home and game / stream. This isnt a desk for anyone who just wants a basic desk and seems to be the solid take i find going around. Most people complaining about expensive motorized desks are not paying more than $3-500 and my chair alone is almost $600 because i work from home.
If I'll be honest, if we're talking about features and functionality. I like the Secretlabs, stability is nice and everything. But being able to crouch on the floor, or stand as tall as you want is extras that don't need so much consideration. If I can get integrated controls for the desktop, gladly, if I can get a great cable management ecosystem, even better. If I can get a PSU that's jammed into the leg of the table, that's a game changer. I want things like this with Deskhaus, but simply put, their desks look like they need more to them, which is why I'm not willing to spend as much for one. When I can spend as much as I did, getting a secretlabs
I am the same way. I look at the review for SecretLabs Magnus pro, and the stability is a con for me. All their pros outweighs that one con for me though. Magnetic headphone holder, Pc mount, cable management, and all the other attachments they offer is amazing to have.
I bought the desk after your review, and this was the best decision I ever made!!! This product is SO amazing! I have been watching your video for over a year now, trying to find a chair. However, I just can't pull the trigger without trying the chair. Any suggestions as to where I can go to try those chairs? I am in Southern California
What do you think of the Apex Pro Max with the cross bracing? Overkill??? I'd just go for the Max but it adds a lot of weight to an already heavy base....
Personally, I’d say overkill, but that depends on your needs. The apex pro is a tank already. Keep in mind that there is no discount code for the pro max! And yes, legs are pretty heavy hahaha
I believe mine is the 27.5". As for table tops, you can go from anything cheapo at Ikea to getting a custom table top done! Desk Haus lists the width to be 43-80" on the 27.5" footsize
So I think "super solid" means different things to different people. Some people reported wobble, others don't, but there is no defined metric for what is and isn't wobbly (some people might be OK with a little wobble in their monitors, some people are softer typers, some are outright slammers like me, some lean on their desk hard, some don't, etc). I think the biggest issue that I have is that the performance you're getting out of your Fully Jarvis, you could get out of a 2-legged Flexispot desk, which is half the price. These companies are jacking their prices up making you think you're getting better performance, but you're not. That's why I think the Apex Pro is the best - you're actually getting better performance for the increase in price. Meanwhile, there are 2 leg standing desks out there that cost more than the Apex Pro, and again, I think people are thinking they're going to get something more stable for that price bump. At the end of the day, if you're happy with your desk, then screw what I have to say! Enjoy it!
I have a Magnus Pro XL and I dont have hardly any wobble at sitting or standing hight. I am 6'2 and raise the desk to 110 for standing and its pretty solid. I just got it a month ago so I am wondering if they changed something in the desk since this video was made a year or so ago vs now.
Hm so the fans you’re seeing belong to the GPU. the table barely shook, so it’s not bc of the desk - it’s bc of the graphics card fans will turn on and off pretty frequently bc of the temp limits I have set.
Nice video Dan. I purchased two fully jarvis bamboo desks and I regret it. I should have been patient and purchased the deskhaus. My fully desks aren't even stable at normal sitting height. I tend to keep my wrists/elbows on the desk when I type. When I do that, it pushes down on the desk way too much causing my monitors to wobble. In my opinion, that should not happen. My autonomous doesn't even do that. Either way, they are fine for now and at least they look nice.
Nothing a quick trip to Home Depot can't fix- easily. Do you have a wall nearby? I would arrange something- maybe a sliding rail track or two. Should be a fun weekend project. I am looking now. Any recommendations? I was thinking this or an autonomous frame. I will buy a glass top.
Bro, what do you do for a living? Because I break every project I ever take on for a living. I used to think I was cursed, but after you’ve broken as many things as I have, I’m pretty sure it’s a skill.
Why not reinforce it with $20 worth of supports from Home Depot...if you have it against at least one wall. That would stiffen it right up. I plan to do this.
@@Ahnestlybro, what are you doing with your desk that requires the level of stability you keep hammering on in your review? Because every time I use even the cheapest of standing desks as a fellow 5'6" King I do *not* run into any stability issues that you're claiming here in your review. As with @zealousbeing0178 and @zerofrost478 I'm planning on going secret labs for the vast number of pros it brings to the table: organization + cable management, size, integrated power, aesthetic, etc. I won't fight you on the warranty though, 20 years is nuts. Assuming they're still around in 20 years - that's a pretty beefy bet with a team of 4 but I'm here for it!
@@MOAB-UT while I too am a DIjunkY if you're spending serious cash on a product it should suit your needs out of the box. Not everything needs to be a project. I'm up to my ears in projects at home. I still give you a thumbs up for the argument given that I don't think stability *is* an issue personally. I just don't personally think if I buy something it's warranted to become a DIY. I want a solution, not a project if I'm spending that kind of money. Especially for something as commonly used as a desk.
Did you get the tabletop from Desk Haus as well? I am on the market and I'm intrigued by this desk. But if pairing the apex pro with their hardwood top it looks like I'm at $2500
hey! I got mine from Desk Haus, but the beauty of it is that you can get whatever desk top you want and just screw it in from the bottom! I mentioned this in the video (very briefly though!) and IMHO is one of the benefits of getting sturdier legs. You can always upgrade to a fancy top later down the line, but you can't ever swap out your legs!!
What do you think about IDÅSEN Desk sit/stand, black/dark gray, 63x311/2" - IKEA? Is this competitive to Apex? I was thinking to buy IDASEN but now I seen your video it made me make sure which one is the best in term of sturdiness
II am very interested in purchasing it; however, I have some questions that are preventing me from buying it outright. **Question 1: Foot Size.** What size would you recommend, and why does it matter? **Question 2: Countertop.** What do you recommend or own, and what key features should I look for when choosing one? **Additional Notes:** What other key information should I know, and what expectations should I have?
Hey, for your foot size, def reach out to Deskhaus about what's appropriate. The standard should be fine unless you'r going with some mega ultra desk. For countertop, the biggest factor for me is going to be thickness. I have a 1" all wood desk top but it will bow because it's just not thick enough. The Desk Haus has a HUGE weight rating that you'll never touch, so any top will be fine. Additional Notes: Nothing really. Just be prepared to measure a bit if you go with your own table top (and an electric drill as well)
Interesting Concept but at the moment they don't ship to Canada so can't buy it (not interested in spending a bunch of extra money having it imported with a 3rd party middle man.)
I'm not about to power kick my desk. I'm not about to shake the desk as if I'm choking it to death. Secret Lab Magnus Pro XL is perfect. The whole cable rats nest being tucked away out of sight with the built in power connector is a must. I've never had any stability issue but then again I'm not trying to fight my desk 😂
So.... I hate you officially... First, the HM embody chair... which I got yesterday btw and it is very comfortable and a game changer not gonna lie. BUT NOW YOU GOT ME BUYING THIS! hahaha just got the grand rapids desk, my question is (and probably should have researched before buying) since it is hard wood and beautiful, how do you protect it from the monitors? and Im thinking of eventually mounting 2 super wide screens on top of each other.
ahahahahahaha YESSS. One of us...one of us... Congrats on those awesome pick ups!! As for protecting wood from monitors, you've got a couple options. The first is to go with a desk mount monitor arm, and they should usually come with some kinda rubber grippy pads that should help grip to your desk without damaging it. Keep in mind that rubber MAY leave some kinda residue there after a longggg period of time. If you want to just go with the original monitor legs, then similar resolution - try to find FELT (not rubber) pads to put under your monitor legs. felt shouldn't leave any kinda residue, but rubber can. Final resolution would be to get a desk monitor stand...but be warned...you may find yourself yelling at me again....th-cam.com/video/Az8CzDL-xO0/w-d-xo.html
man you hit the spot, i agree with your into i hate a wobbling desk. In your opinion would you think the DeskHaus Apex Pro would be better than FEXISPOT E7Q in terms of stablity?
I built my own using the autonomous pro legs on a completely custom desktop made of a rare maple. I have 3, 27" monitors attached to it AND 2 full size PCs on it. My gaming machine AND a server, both in full/mid size towers (Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL and an older NZXT) I also have a work laptop, mouse, keyboard and a VR headset on it. I'm 6ft tall, I have to raise it pretty high when I'm standing for work. I don't really experience the kind of wobble you are showing, not anywhere close. It's sitting on a flat, hard floor. So maybe you're exaggerating the wobble or the top of my desk is better at dealing with the movement, but I've been using it now for a couple years and it's been rock solid, one of the best decisions I've made since going WFH. Respectfully, you are doing the physics wrong. Having more weight on the table will reduce the amount of force it takes to wobble it a given distance. It will simply require more force than when it's empty. However, once you do get it wobbling, then it will stay in motion longer (Newtons 3rd law) I have probably 200lbs on/clamped to my desk (320lb max) and it doesn't wobble because I won't exert enough pressure to make it move. Sure, the monitors move but they're on arms and they'd wobble on the deskhaus because that's how frequency and vibrations work. Things extended out on an arm will work now more. But the desk itself, it takes A LOT to move, therefore it is stable UNTIL it is pushed hard enough. Which, I have several kids and I tend to lean on it, still haven't had that issue. But having 2 legs per side will do what you show. From years of experience, you're exaggerating the results and you got the math/physics wrong about weight.
I noted that all the desks in the video are on carpeted floor, which I think many people have as their setup. This is why I did NOT include my standing desks at home in the various comparison shots - it would not be apples to apples. However, In terms of front to back wobble, my autonomous ergo pro still wobbles quite a bit at the higher heights. When you’re working, you may not experience a lot of wobble, but try taking your hand and pushing the front edge of your table top hard a few times. That’ll get the desk going. It may translate to slight shakes when working, but if leaning or you bump or something, means a bigger wobble. I went to Desk Haus’ warehouse, checked all the bolts/screws, and shook them myself and saw how much even high end standing desks from Herman miller, steelcase, autonomous, uplift, etc all wobble
Thank you for one of the best vids I've ever seen on standing desks. My desk wobbles, and I always assumed it's because my 70-year-old weak hands, with the help of my daughter, just didn't screw things together tight enough during assembly. I had no idea it was a common thing among all two-legged desks! On another note, I'm curious as to what monitor you are using as well as the stand (which appears to be two pieces, but hard to tell). I have a 34" and 27" monitor, and I've been wanting to go to something larger (ideally 48"), but every monitor I've looked at gets mixed reviews. So I'm curious if you're happy with yours, and if so, what it is exactly. Thanks again for a great vid! Karen 😊
First of all, SO COOL that you're way outside my usual demographic and looking into this stuff. I don't have a review on the screen, but I do talk about some highlights, as well as various hacks for using this as a monitor in this video! th-cam.com/video/BLCCZQxQ3mM/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps! ...is still less than half the price of the deskhaus when fully built. If just talking bases, they are roughly the same. The Deskhaus base is made in the USA though I guess? And probably better quality than the chinese OEM that Uplift uses.
@hotbox76 I’m talking frame alone. You’d have to get the uplift commercial to match the height range of the apex pro and get an upgraded paddle, which brings you to $1,059 for Uplift versus $927 (minus $50 with my coupon!), so $877 vs $1,059). And for me personally, I’d prob just get a countertop from ikea and use that as a top for around $250.
I appreciate the video! However, almost a grand for just the base of a motorized desk is a bit absurd. I thought paying a grand from the secret labs pro desk was absurd but deskhaus definitely takes the cake lol.
Well it depends on how much use you'll get out of it. Expensive yes, absurd, no. Someone working from home and regularly adjusting the height would benefit more than someone who uses it for a few hours after work. Same deal with high end chairs. I have a second hand aeron but bought a leap v2 brand new because I know i'm going to get a lot of use out of them. I didn't want to spend time and money exploring cheaper options. Something not discussed or mentioned were the motors. Some people value them a lot more and i've heard linak brand motors are the ones to aim for. The market is flooded with cheap chinese motors that overheat, are noisy or slow. I would want to know more about the motors before dropping that kind of cash.
Hi @Ahnestly thank you for this review it is super helpful. I am in the market for a 4 legged standing desk and I'm interested to know your thoughts on other 4 legged standing desk as well, specifically the Flexispot Odin E7Q and the Uplift V2 four legged standing desk. Any thoughts on these and how they might compare to the Deskhaus Apex Pro?
@Ahnestly, thank you for this review and for the tips. As a person who is not from USA I would to ask a few questions: Do they sell these desks and frames only in USA? Is there any distributor who is working with DeskHaus and selling their products for other countries? For example, do they have distributors for Europe?
I really wish they did, but I don’t think they have any interest selling overseas…from my talks with deskhaus, they want to focus on providing the best products, not making the most money possible. That’s why I was so eager to partner with Chris and the guys at deskhaus! Sorry that’s prob not what you wanted to hear :(
@@Ahnestly, thanks for your honest answer. I do not have doubts in their products and from what I've seen I'm overwhelmingly positive about their frames/legs! In my opinion one of the best I've seen and I believe that the price is worth for this product in long term. I would be happy if they decide to establish shop or representatives in Bulgaria. Their producs provide extreme quality and it will be a shame not to share it with the rest of the world. People who care about their working stations will want only the best. A good investment in long term period always worth the money. Thank you for your answer again!
@@Ahnestly I also would like a amazing desk for my homeoffice. I already bougt the Aeron and Embody because of your recommendations. I live in Switzerland and I am willing to spend up to 2000 dollar. Unfortunately the deskhaus is only available in USA. I am considering the uplift, but it has 1340 dollar shipping cost. That is way too much in my opinion. 500 Dollar shipping cost would be fine for me. Any alternative suggestions? Stability is the most important factor for me
Whos gonna be rocking their desk sideway. You i answer me because i sometime setup a direct drive wheel so that side to side motion is pretty common. Been looking for a standing desk awhile and was kindve eyeing the e7 plus due to it being much more affordable.
Great video. I just wish there was a better space for art students and students in general because we usually never have the budget for the better desks 😭🙏🏾
Check out Desk Haus' channel. He does a lot of demonstrations and makes sure to balance them. I unfortunately don't have hard floors here (and it would be an issue when it came to echo in my audio!)
seems like not including the veridesk is an obvious miss since they are the market leader in standing desk tech. very stable compared to what you reviewed.
The VeriDesk designs are single supports on each side. That is not as stable as designs with double support on each side (or even more extreme, double support on each side and an additional horizontal support between the back 2 supports).
hey! so for this desk, I'm actually using Desk Haus' table top. Because of the weight I exert on it, I thought it would be better to get something thicker (Desk Haus is 1.75" thick I believe)! It's objectively not cheap, but relative to other brands selling the desk top in similar size and dimensions, it was a better value. Hope this helps!
Beautiful Setup - I'm currently in the process of building a house and it'll be done in 4 months. I'll have a dedicated office and I want my desk to be in the middle of the room. Like your setup, looks nice and clean, cables look OK, hoping to get them really well managed, I want to switch to a standing desk so I can have an under-desk treadmill and some additional flexibility as well. Do you have a setup for your PC/cables/etc? I just stumbled on your channel and looking to emulate what you got going on. Thanks! Looks like you have an external GPU setup too. :)
Waiting on that steelcase karman chair review.... Need to know if I can replace steelcase gesture with it or to go for the embody. I found the adjustable arms are really nice on gesture but I set it in 1 spot and never change it so it's not a feature ill miss BUT the chair gets hot and the seat cushion is too firm for my liking. I've noticed I like mesh chairs so I'm considering the steelcase karman OR the herman miller embody (it's currently on sale for the gaming edition) so I hope the review comes out before the herman miller embody gaming edition sale expires on may 16
ABOUT THE WATER BOTTLE - I accidentally left the water bottle I used for this test in my car (in the hot sun) and it deformed. I didn't have another one and had to film. This was not an attempt to exaggerate wobble. I have plenty of other things on the desks so you can see everything else wobble.

Thank you for this review. I’ve been wanting to build my own desk for quite awhile since working 100% remote and this video helped me so much! woot woot!! I hope you love it and love the DIY attitude!!
I bought the Apex Pro from Desk Haus over a year ago (price has gone up since). I love the thing. It's a tank and there have been no issues. I am using a 72x30 dark rubberwood butcher block from Lowes. Best investment ever.
hey May i ask about the price when you got it
How was installation for your butcher block from Lowe's? Just used the wood screws included with the Apex Pro and drilled them directly into the butcher block? Pilot holes? Thx in advance!
I like to imagine your house is just a warehouse of desks and chairs.
Consider yourself lucky, on the website the 60x30 is going for $1,900 bucks!🤷♂🤷♂🤷♂

I've been in talks! Stay posted!
He didn’t really use products that are equally as close to the deskhaus. Like the uplift 4 leg commercial and evodesk FX package. I wish he did
@allen7615 the starting price of uplift 4 leg with laminate top (30x60) is $1,200. Desk Haus with a real rubber wood top (30x60) is $1052 with my code ($1,100 without code). The Evodesk is over 2x the price. Looks fancy, but quite pricey!
Other factors to consider:
Desk Haus is made in America and In terms of warranty and customer service, I’ve seen desk haus really active on both Standing Desk and Desk Haus forums. Uplift is not made in America, not sure what their customer service is like. I don’t know much about Evodesk unfortunately!
What a thorough review. Excellent job. Most reviews out there lack the comparative details and industry knowledge.
Thank you! Appreciate that!
Deskhaus is easily the future of standing desks. The double leg design is incredible not to mention the support is fantastic.
Its less professional to use anonymous accounts to start a flame war over actually discussing your flaws with competition
Yep Deskhaus is super legit. I just bought a second apex base for my office. Couldnt be happier on the purchases.
Incredible. I was considering pulling the trigger on the Magnus, but now I'm sold on getting an Apex Pro and using is it to build the perfect setup for my needs. Kudos
Heyyyyyy!!! Nice!!! You will NOT regret it. Love this freaking tank of a desk!!! Don't forget to use my coupon code!!
Hi @ahnestly!! A wonderful review! I just wanted to ask, could you let us know what size is your table top and where did you buy it? I really like the size of it but when I clicked on the coupon of them offering it, it is empty :( any feedback is appreciated! Thank you!
Wow, I saw a Steelcase Karman !!!! When is the video coming out?
I’m glad someone is finally bringing Deskhaus to the conversation. I’ve had their Apex Pro with a walnut butcher block island countertop for almost 2 years now and it’s blown every other desk I’ve had out of the water. So much so I’ve sold my Fully Jarvis and will be making mine into an L shaped version
How will you turn this desk L shaped?
@@Ahnestly That makes sense, got it! Thanks very much
I would imagined the L-shaped desks are much, much more stable by the nature of their geometry.
How well does Deskhaus honor the warranty? Will it be around in 20 years? How big is their service department?
HE JUST SAID (IF YOU WATCHED THE VIDEO) THAT IT'S 4 PEOPLE
I'm really debating on buying a desk like this...

Got the Apex Pros for my wife's office - I'm super jealous, I want a set for myself now, but I already finished my set up.
i would be interested in a stability comparison to the new(?) flexispot e7q wich also has for legs.
Looking for the same.
Really great call on the 4 legs stability. Thank you!
A 20-year warranty is nice idea, but keep in that when a company goes out of business, its warranties and services often die unless other agreements have been made. Deskhaus was founded in 2020. I do hope they will be around in 20 years to honour their warranty!

Will the walnut top get water marks on it if a drink is left in it or is it a sealed wooden surface?
This is a good question and I'm not sure what the answer is. The finish is slightly sheen, but I don't ever feel comfortable leaving a glass of water bare on top of any wood surface. I always use a coaster!
Excellent review! Thank you for your honesty.
more weight would shift the center of gravity UP and the higher it is the more you got to unstable equilibrium.

Ikea idasen desk for around 740 eur two years ago is very stable desk as the legs construction is different and solid
Yep. Love mine so much that I bought a second for a treadmill desk setup. Built like tanks and the motors can even handle a 48in oled 😁
6/24/2024 - Like your style and how you keep it real. Looking for a stand up desk for my 6' boyfriend who works from home and his 50 year-ol body needs a better way to spend 8 hours each day. I'm surprised more people haven't done videos on Deskhaus products.
Ordered mine a few days ago because of this video! I'm hype!
Woot woot!!!
nice vid brother!!
I've been looking at the uplift v2, v2 commercial and the flexispot e7 pro.
And of course the secret lab. Oh so out of the three secret lab flexi spot or uplift I'm at a loss in which one would be more sturdy in 72 or 80"?
Forgot to add. Also bought 4 hooks, these still have to be mounted, two on each side.
I'm actually in shock about the Magnus Pro, I basically had my credit card in hand to buy it but didn't even think it would be so unstable. Stability in the desk is top priority for me as you mentioned, I have tens of thousands of dollars of equipment on my desk and use it every day for long periods of time.
Desk haus put out a video showing how unstable it was. I did not believe it until I tested it myself
THATS WHATS UP! When i get my first standing desk im getting the Apex pro. Thanks man

Did you had a look at the new flexispot E7plus .
Thanks mate. This was exactly what I was looking for

I think people who are looking at these desks are individuals like myself who work from home and game / stream. This isnt a desk for anyone who just wants a basic desk and seems to be the solid take i find going around. or a 1v1v1v1v1v1v1v1v1v1 soccer match
Thanks for the video. What is the min-max range for wood top (width) for this particular Deskhaus ?
It can get insanely wide...but that might be a question you want to ask directly to Desk Haus!
I don’t understand why companies don’t make double legs for each side? It’s not that hard to implement and it doesn’t cost that much extra.
Apex Pro is the best home standing desk for the money. I had mine for over a year now and have no regrets!
What electronics/motors and gears does it use?
What do you think of the Apex Pro Max with the cross bracing? Overkill??? I'd just go for the Max but it adds a lot of weight to an already heavy base....
Personally, I’d say overkill, but that depends on your needs. The apex pro is a tank already. Keep in mind that there is no discount code for the pro max! And yes, legs are pretty heavy hahaha
@@Ahnestly thanks for your response and your great video!
What would you recommend for table top options? And do you know what foot size your table has?
I believe mine is the 27.5". As for table tops, you can go from anything cheapo at Ikea to getting a custom table top done! Desk Haus lists the width to be 43-80" on the 27.5" footsize
i cant wait for my magnus pro to arrive in 2 days 🙌🙌 super excited
Hey as long as you’re happy with your purchase! I’m just here to inform y’all with as much info as possible!
Can you review the stability of the Flexispot E7 Pro and E7 Plus?
I don't know..... I am 6'4" and the Fully Javis is super solid with a massive 2m oak butcher block top.
Helpful, thanks. Couldn't help but noticing how the fans in your PC stopped when you wiggled the table 10:02.
Hm so the fans you’re seeing belong to the GPU. the table barely shook, so it’s not bc of the desk - it’s bc of the graphics card fans will turn on and off pretty frequently bc of the temp limits I have set.
@@Ahnestly Roger that. Thanks!
Just be prepared to measure a bit if you go with your own table top (and an electric drill as well)
Interesting Concept but at the moment they don't ship to Canada so can't buy it (not interested in spending a bunch of extra money having it imported with a 3rd party middle man.)
they dont ship outside of the US so if you dont live there then forget about it
I'm not about to power kick my desk.
Loll I hope I didn’t power kick or fight my desk! I barely pushed it forward! But again, stability issues begin after a certain height.
@@Ahnestly yeah it's when it's almost at max height. It's definitely an issue that can be annoying to tall users
I see that Eames in the background, will you ever be doing an Ahnest review of what you think?
Do you know which company makes the Haworth standing desks? Thanks
The camera angles make those desks look MASSIVE! 🤣🤣
LOL naw im just short!
I own this and can confirm it is SO GOOD and incredibly stable when I'm standing at it.
man you hit the spot, i agree with your into i hate a wobbling desk. In your opinion would you think the DeskHaus Apex Pro would be better than FEXISPOT E7Q in terms of stablity?
I am surprised what a low level of likes this video has, it's superb
Hey! I appreciate it! Haha worked really hard on it to get all the b roll just right!
However, once you do get it wobbling, then it will stay in motion longer (Newtons 3rd law)
I have probably 200lbs on/clamped to my desk (320lb max) and it doesn't wobble because I won't exert enough pressure to make it move.

P.S. What a clever and cool channel name. I love it when people are able to incorporate their own names into creative and meaningful monikers to use for business or pleasure. Well done!
How about X desk Terra Pro , I wonder if you can compare it to Deskhaus Apex Pro ?
Hey what table top are you using in this video? It looks great
Uplift can be configured with four legs, as well.
But the price!
...is still less than half the price of the deskhaus when fully built.
Of course it should be mentioned that several other companies (like Flexispot) also have desks with four feet...for a lower price.
Comparison with NewHeights S Series and their not just 20 year but lifetime warranty?
anyone know what alternative there is for people living in europe?
Ahnestly absurdly expensive.
Hey! I haven't had personal experience with those desks. That is something I want to do in the future / in my new space!
Ok it'd be great to get your thoughts on those!
@Ahnestly, thank you for this review and for the tips. As a person who is not from USA I would to ask a few questions:
Do they sell these desks and frames only in USA?
Stability is the most important factor for me
Thanks bro, my office asked me to pick one now with this I'm set
Whos gonna be rocking their desk sideway. You i answer me because i sometime setup a direct drive wheel so that side to side motion is pretty common.
Been looking for a standing desk awhile and was kindve eyeing the e7 plus due to it being much more affordable.
Great video. I just wish there was a better space for art students and students in general because we usually never have the budget for the better desks 😭🙏🏾
Awesome review! How do the desks compare on solid floors.. aka no carpet? Same results?
Check out Desk Haus' channel. He does a lot of demonstrations and makes sure to balance them. I unfortunately don't have hard floors here (and it would be an issue when it came to echo in my audio!)
seems like not including the veridesk is an obvious miss since they are the market leader in standing desk tech. very stable compared to what you reviewed.
The VeriDesk designs are single supports on each side. That is not as stable as designs with double support on each side (or even more extreme, double support on each side and an additional horizontal support between the back 2 supports).
About what could we expect the price range to be for the Marco Polo woodwork top you used for your apex pro ?
Thanks!
hey! so for this desk, I'm actually using Desk Haus' table top.
