Great video! thanks for the detailed review, and we're glad the cable management tray has worked perfectly with your setup. We also appreciate the feedback with some of the things we can improve with the MAGNUS Pro - we'll relay this with our Product team to note on how we can further work to fulfill more needs from our desk users. Cheers Fracno!
I'm considering this desk, but I have a 34 inch widescreen as my primary and my second screen i have on a pole mount above the widescreen. Is there an option for a taller arm? I'm not a side by side guy.
get an external arm, not the secret lab one, for sure one with low profile would fit inside@@LockhartTx
@@LockhartTx I'm also considering this desk, but I also have issues with their monitor arm. My G9's 49" & 12kg are both far above the arm's 34" & 8kg limit. And their PC mount is too small for a H500 case. Those are deal-breakers for me. I contacted their support to see if they has something on their roadmap to fix both issues or if they could recommend a competing arm that's compatible (ie. fits the cable tray opening like theirs). Waiting to hear from them.
Hey @Secretlabchairs! Perhaps you can actually provide a phone number to your customers so they can troubleshoot a desk that did not work out of the box? Folks, if you are considering this desk, please be aware that customer service is extremely limited, and they will make it very hard to leave a review on their website.
@@cedricol There is a heavy-duty arm for up 42 inch monitors.

Really appreciate the in depth review. I'm in the market for a new, bigger desk and love that secret labs has a bunch of accessories
Thanks for uploading again! I missed your videos!
What blows my mind is how these two companies have the support leg thicknesses in reverse compared to others. This has been shown to be one of the major key factors in that extra wobble. The frames w/ the 3 stage support beams w/ the thicker legs that reduce to the smaller ones are just better.
Good to see you are back on TH-cam. I need my gaming health guru

Glad I could help!
I just got the smaller version. They are very nice desks. Spendy but I don't think there is a cleaner desk out there.
I like how the cable management works in the desk because its something that a only company like Secretlabs can do. Like I understand why every company doesn't do what Secretlabs does but with the Secretlabs desk it feels like you're getting your money worth.
Love the vid!! Keep up the good work man
The entire goal of a UPS is to provide surge protection and a backup battery so that you can shut everything off before it dies. As long as you aren't coupling another surge protector in, you are allowed to use a power STRIP in the cable management tray and plug the power of the desk into the ups to keep the entire operation running with one cable! Feel like this is most useful if you have any short cables, though.
Not sure if you have tried it yet but the underdesk Tower mount is amazing and I love it !!
Literally Outstanding!❤️

great review man , thanks so much.
As someone in IT, I really appreciated you advising people to use a UPS 👍 great review
I'm considering using a UPS, but purchasing the PC mounts with the tower on one side, and the UPS on the other.
Is really more beneficial to use a UPS over a power conditioner?
@RiderZer0 get both id say. Surge protector for the first line of defense and the UPS for the second. Relying solely on a UPS in my opinion is just stupid if your truly worried about protecting your technology. While a UPS protects it, it'll ultimately over time lead to some minor damage to add up over time which can cause system failures with your tech. The surge protector takes the brunt of of the damage then the UPS for the remaining that gets past the surge protector.
@@Shiro144_X please do not recommend to people that they plug their UPS into a power strip. That is extremely bad advice.
@OriflammeGaming you sure about that? If your stupid and don't know how to do it correctly then ofc but if your actually competent and know what your doing then it's actually somthing you should do. Like look it up. So long as you know what your surge protectors wires capacity is and don't overload ot your fine, ON THE OTHER HAND, if you just plug in things that take alot of power then yeah your stupid and you'll fuck shit up.
One thing that I wish the Magnus Pro had which other desk have is the ability to have casters. You can get aftermarket ones but you're kind of on your own in buying them and making sure they're the right size and can hold the weight. I would prefer that SecretLabs just provide the option to buy them as an accessory.
The PC mount is fantastic, you have to try it !
For those using their monitor arms on the desk and are concerned about putting it on with the minimum space because of the cable management lid, you can very easily unscrew the lid and put it back on after you attach your monitor arms. There is tons of space and it is super easy to take the lid off and put back on. Just 4 screws.
Can you use any monitor arms or is it only their arm you can use, I’d rather use what I have
@@Captain-Chatsyou can use any monitor arm with a clamp it’s just easier with the secret labs arms because it screws the clamp tight from the top. To be able to put others that clamp from the bottom on easily, have the cable management lid screwed off and attach it before you put any power brick or even cable management down. It really isn’t hard. I have both secret lab dual monitor arms and dell’s dual monitor arms, which I both used on the desk at some point.
Great review 👍
The goat is back!

Edit: absolutely loved the inserts in the assembly portion. what a fun, and overall life-enriching video on premium sit-to-stand gamer desks. If only there was a way to see the assembly of such desk specimen.
The assembly lives in your imagination. I leave it to the viewer to decide, kinda like the end of Inception. Did my top keep spinning? 🤷♂️
@@FracnoTV we need an assembly video of a cheap desk, with a spinning top-down camera view
Appreciate💕 both you and your Shares Thank you
Like to add my too cents to this review.
I myself have a Magnus Pro XL, in my case I have a custom monitor stand that when clamped can fit onto the desk and within the tray, the only downsides are when it comes to tightening the clamp, as it a little finicky with the tight space, but its all possible.
Franco makes mention about drilling into the desk, so the desk itself is a mixture of both sheet metal (sand blasted black) & MDF, with the metal covering all sides, but these can be removed by unscrewing the skills off the deskframe.
I currently use mine without the metal sheeting as I intend to make my own custom desk table, and purely wanted the frame.
Also if you wanted to do any mods like use a logitech powerplay mat without seeing the mat (e.g. inside of the desk or wireless charging then you can't do any of these with the top layer of metal sheeting.
Awesome video, In your video around the 1:00min mark there is a camera mount clamp. Could you share the brand of that mount? Thanks again.
Favolosa😍,Tremendously terrific
thank you for this really good video. Currently considering the Magnus Pro, but YT was lacking infos on real life scenarios. You just earned a cookie ;-)
Btw: thanks for the hint with the monitor arms. I was considering buying 2x2 monitor arms to create an inverted T-Shape in the future. But as your video suggests, there's no way to put 2 monitors in a vertical alignment, right?
It may be possible, but based on my experience I'd say it's unlikely that these monitor arms would work for what you're describing. To be on the safe side, I'd recommend against it.
I have the "commercial" version of Uplift desk that has a supporting beam connecting both legs. I feel it wobbles a lot less compared to what your video shows. I also love the Secretlab Magnus but wish 1) it comes in a 80x30 size and 2) it's more stable.
r u saying the magnus pro isnt stable? lookin at options to buy and am curious
@@sirren8808 There are other review videos on the magnus pro and one common compliant is it’s not stable at max height. I do not have that desk (it came out after I made my purchase).
Also wish they gave more clearance for most other types of clamps so you can attach other monitor arms, mics, stands etc.
I was keen on this desk up to the point you said the top full desk mat is magnetic attachment. As a watch collector placing mechanical watches onto that matt would cause all sorts of issues.
I think i agree about the UPS 🤔
Over the desk outlet
Thank you for the thorough review of this desk. Related question, where did you get that great looking shelf sitting on the desk?
That’s a Grovemade desk shelf. Link in the description of the video.

I’ve been looking at this desk since I already have the chair which I love. I do like uplifts L shaped desk but it’s over 2k.
Ended up getting the apex pro from desk haus amazing stability, but secret labs has the best accessories for cable management I’ve ever seen
Mind sharing why you chose that desk? I'm also in the market and really split.
@@chodenode I wanted a large desk area to fit all the things I have and not be cluttered. I had a standing desk before but it always felt flimsy especially when at max height. I researched some stuff and came across the brand on reddit.
They have a youtube and the owner of the company has a ton of videos on youtube talking about standing desks and he shows how stable their desks are in every which way imaginable. He kicked the desk at max height and it doesn't move or wobble. I liked it but the price was gross to me.
I went on amazon and ordered some legs for about 400 dollars. It had the heigh adjustments I needed but again it just wasn't stable. I then orderd the apex pro and everything is as advertised in the videos.
One day I will be laying down at some park on some field after a nice bike ride and Watch the clouds go by...I'm sure this is what I will be dreaming of :-) Absolutely Breathtaking
Great review - thanks a lot for this. I did not understood the UPS part thou, why don't you use your UPS output to power the desk leg, and put some power-distributors in the cable management bay ?
I prefer not to daisy chain so many devices (10 devices into one extension, then all of that load into one outlet in the desk, then out of the desk into a UPC, then UPC to wall) when my current method works well (10 devices into UPC, UPC into wall). Yes, you could physically do it, but I'd rather not test the limits of electrical load with all my gear/devices.
So I have the exact same desk, and I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned this, but the Secretlab Magnus Pro isn't exactly "all metal"; that part's a little misleading. It's really a sheet of steel veneer on top of MDF material. You'll be able to see that if you look under the desk, as the metal wraps around just under the edges. I was originally a bit concerned with the desk weight since I thought it was all metal, but using MDF makes sense to keep the desk from being ridiculously heavy and expensive. And it's still pretty durable material. It's at least relatively safe to get the top surface wet, and unlikely people will soak the bottom of it. It does also mean you can't really mount things magnetically under the desk though.
My uplift desk was the best desk I have ever owned. The only complaint I have is the under desk tower holder won't hold my new Corsair 5000D because its too wide so now I have to find another under desk mount...
He's Back!
It's fascinating not just cool!
I enjoyed this video, was informative, but had some thoughts. "Monitor arm doesn't go high enough with my sit stand desk" & "Wobbles desk on casters"
💚💚💚 😊Appreciate for sharing your Video
Fantastic video
What's that wrap that you used to join all of the cables running out of the bottom of the cable tray? I bought a Magnus Pro XL the other day and I am trying to come up with an easy way to keep cables together that run to my UPS.
Regarding wobble, the casters will introduce alot of that wobble. I have a desk with the same leg contruction which does not wobble nearly as much as yours did in the video.
I had the Uplift desk for about 3 years before I added wheels to it so I'm very familiar with how much it wobbles. Any standing desk at max height on two legs is going to have significant wobble regardless of whether it has wheels or not. I shook both desks in this video much harder than anyone would shake a desk.
hey so glad to see youre back how are you? :)
Good! Thanks for asking.
I've got a magnus pro xl. I've got triple monitors two pcs on the pc mounts and a stack of accessories on the desk like headphones and speakers and stuff. It's a awesome desk no two ways about it. I find the cable tray could be half again in size bigger and those cable routing clips on the monitors have caused me massive grief with the amount of cables I'm running (if I move my monitor they click out of place and hang down) for someone with less stuff I reckon u wouldnt have any issues. I'm 186cm tall and I have no issues with monitor height on the monitor stands. I'm using triple 27inch monitors and they can go uncomfortably high so I'm not sure how high this guy wants them or how tall he is but thier going to be fine for the majority of people. Desk is wobbly at full stand height but not unusable by any means. I'm finding keeping the leather desk matt dust and cat hair free to be one of the biggest issues as dust tends to stick to it
Helpful additional info, thanks!
would it be better to buy the desk without the desk mat?
@@garycoleman8906 no the desk matt is awesome. And the steel top is quite cold without it. It's just worth noting its leather (or something equivalent) and dust kind of sticks to it a bit. Nothing a decent wipe down every few weeks doesn't fix.
@@tomohalloran5217if you use it as a standing desk do you need to bring it up to the max setting at your height? Also, how wobbly would you say it is when you use it as a standing desk? Pretty on the fence just because of this one issue. Please like my comment once you reply so I get a notification, really interested to know
@@3litepker Im probably about 10cm short of max height for comfortable standing height. The desk wobbles but it's not to bad it probably can move about 1cm forwards and backwards on it's pivot point. It's by no means the worse standing desk I've used at height
Very very cool shirt!☺️
Hey Franco, what is the little raised platform that your controller sits on and where can I buy one?
Great view and video
What's that desktop tower stand you're using? I've been searching for that exact thing you're using without any luck.
Hi Fracno! I had doubts, but after seeing your unboxing, I'm decided... I plan to buy the Magnus Pro as soon as I can. But first I’ll ask you something I'm sure you master… Do you know when there are usually discounts at Secretlab? Black Friday or something like that? Right now I can't afford it, but I wouldn’t mind waiting a few months either if it saves me a few bucks! Thanks in advance!
Where can I find that wallpaper especially the one on the center monitor love it 😊
Whats that little wood riser you have where your accessories are sitting on? aff link?
Hi great video ! just to know i plan on letting my unit on the side just like you did, what furniture did you chose ? Any reference ? x)
It's linked in the description of the video and right here: geni.us/vnr7qY
Great video! I just picked up Ikea Uppspel and its been good but the wobble even at sitting height is annoying. With a 34” & 27” monitor any tap on desk makes both monitors wobble - I’m thinking I need a secret lab desk. Any wobble at all on yours?
I've got the Bekant with 4 monitors on arms and have no wobble at all.
you are so Remarkable thank you for this Videos
Do you have a link to the UPS you use? Any considerations when getting one?
Is there any problem connecting UPS to desk built-in power outlet instead?
Many UPS manufacturers specify using a powerbar (which desk essentially is) could void your warranty. Good UPS will be able to tell the computer to shut down so that shouldn't really be an issue if you considering having this type of desk.
Can you please share where you got your Action Figure Display? ( the one with glass door and wooden levels ) on the left?
Wouldn't it be possible to plug everything into the integrated power strip, and then plug your desk into the UPS?
Love the gundams , a true man of culture 👏

How important is the leather cover? Is the desk comfortable without it?
i bought 2 cpu attachments, 1 for cpu, and 1 for ps5. well worth the price. 2 less things on the desk top!
Good video!
Hello, could i please ask what keyboard you have there? its looks very nice!
Space65 with OG Holy Pandas and GMK Unit 01.
Hey, I really hope you'll see this but I've got a burning question. I'm *this* close to pulling the trigger on this desk. My one hesitation is that I've got a 43" ultrawide monitor (secretlab doesn't create monitor arms for that size). Do you think there is enough space in the 'cubby' of the cable tray to mount any old monitor arm without interfering with the tray cover/hinge mechanism. Thank you in advance!!
Awesome friend very Pleasant
this my be a strange question but what desk do you have your PC on?
Extraordinary
When you were talking about using a UPS do you mean something like a surge protector power strip? I planned on using one of those when i get this desk but if i shouldn't then that'd be good to know.
For context i've never even heard of a UPS until this video so im not sure if they're the same thing
Good question! No, they’re different. A surge protector will protect electronics from spikes/surges in electricity so you don’t fry your stuff. However, some of them aren’t well made and your stuff may still be at risk. Also, you have to consider ALL sources going into your computer. A friend of mine fried his GPU in a thunderstorm even though he was using a surge protector. Reason being, his Ethernet cable wasn’t going through the SP.
A UPS has the same functionality as a surge protector, but it’s also a giant battery. If your power goes out, your computer won’t shut down for X number of minutes. Bigger the UPS, the more time you have.
Hey Fracno! Any advice on how to get Secretlab to actually address a defective desk? We have had this desk for the past 10 days and cannot get anyone on the phone to help us address the fact that we keep getting an error code. Seems shady not to offer a phone number to troubleshoot.
I’m not sure of a number, but I’ve heard good things about their customer support. Sorry you’re having issues. I’d maybe reach out on social media.
Enjoy the vid as i have been debating on the magnus pro xl. Now, lets talk about your figure display cases you have there 😂🎉. What display cases you have and do they fit 1/4th & 1/6th scale figures??
Hey, man! Great video. I currently have the 80 x 30 Uplift and I DO love it, but I've been considering swapping over to the Magnus Pro. My one major question that I can't seem to find a good answer, though, is if the Magnus Pro has caster support. I have the same casters as you on my Uplift and I do in fact need them. Are you able to answer this for me by chance?
No official support as of yet, but it'd be doable as a DIY project. Unlike the regular Magnus version, the legs don't have a hollow bottom. If you saw my video on that desk, I had to put casters onto the side of the legs. I would feel pretty confident mounting wheels onto these legs.
@@FracnoTV awesome! Thank you so much!
How was the wobble with the monitor arms when at sitting height?
Question. Could u just connect the desk to the ups. And everything will be covered, right?
That's a good idea, but I don't know enough about load limits and whatnot to say whether that'd be safe or not.
5:58 you know you can put a power strip inside the desk, plug that into the cable extension on the side leg, then plug that into a UPS, right?
I prefer not to daisy chain so many devices (10 devices into one extension, then all of that load into one outlet in the desk, then out of the desk into a UPC, then UPC to wall) when my current method works well (10 devices into UPC, UPC into wall). Yes, you could physically do it, but I'd rather not test the limits of electrical load with all my gear/devices.
Funny, I'd didn't have to drill holes in mine. I had an overall good experience with customer service as well. I ordered the incorrect accessories and they helped changed them out for the ones I wanted.
I noticed you had wheels on the Uplift but not on the Magnus, is it not possible to add them to the Magnus? and was that a concern for you?
The wheels on the Uplift ended up not being as useful as I had imagined they'd be. That is to say, they work amazing when I need to move my desk, but I don't need to move it very often. I didn't feel I needed them on the Magnus and even if I did, they're not currently an option Secretlab offers.
Oooh super😍 good afternnon Have a nice day🙆

HI nice desk i have a new S24 u PHONE which has a metel back would this be a problem ?
does anyone know if there are any concerns about the desk mat being magnetic or any of the other magnetic pieces interfering with audio gear? possibly damaging gear and hardrives?
I have a question I haven't figured out yet; I want to run a quad monitor setup, three x 32 inch and a single 28 inch. A vertical 32, then a 28-inch horizontal, above a 32-inch horizontal, and then another vertical 32-inch. What's the best way to go about utilizing this desk?? Two dual arms or 4 singles?
What kind of desk do you use for your gaming setup?
Ikea
Not Sure
an Ikea Thyge Desk
I have the Ikea desk that Ali, Optimum Tech, has. I've had it for years and it's doing great. When he upgrades to something even more minimal I'll probably buy one too LOL!
I enjoy your videos, I wish you could upload substantial pieces of content more often.
Your back, cause you're that ripped & can hold the weight
The stability issues are definitely from two factors. 1 the telescopic legs and 2 the fact that those legs are single point in the middle of the desk. If it was 4 legs going down to the stand it would be a lot more stable but would require more motors and thus be more expensive. It is what it is unfortunately
Would you recommend it case I have to use 4 monitors ? I am worring if the table you lift easily or not.
The max weight is 265 pounds and I think it’d handle 4 monitors no problem.
You think it’s a good choice or recommend other desk?
What size grove shelf is the one you’re using ?
