      You’ve got to try Peter’s Drive-In on 16th avenue!
      You’ll love it!
You’ve definitely tried some classics already but you can’t leave town without trying Peter’s haha
      Welcome to Calgary and enjoy!

It reminds me of my younger days when I fell in love with a girl. Just like you two, exploring a stranger city, savoring the local food, and strolling together on cold winter nights……,and even though there were no smartphones or cameras in those days, all happy times were rooted in my mind, and it is still good to think about them now. It’s good to be young!

This was so much fun to watch, as a lifelong Calgarian I take things like Tim Hortons and ketchup chips and even the Calgary tower for granted, even seeing them as mundane on some days. Thank you for filming this!

Calgarian here. A couple things....Tim Hortons is marginal, at best. it was acquired by a Brazilian conglomerate a few years back, and most Canadians will tell you that it's gone downhill since. Second...That monstrosity masquerading as a Nanaimo bar, was absolutely NOT a Nanaimo bar. Please try to find a real one, because Nanaimo bars are fantastic. Also, you'll need to venture out of the downtown area. Calgary is the largest city in Canada, Area wise. There are so many great restaurants outside of the downtown core. Feel free to reach out to me if you like!

Great travel video of Calgary, Canada. The food at Tim Horton’s Restaurant was good too. The food must have been good because Chad inhaled his large sandwich in one bite! The Canadians, the Boms Away, were an excellent source for recommendations. Chad did an exceptional job of finding the high rise accommodation in downtown Calgary. The view of both of you looking at Calgary’s skyline at night was the best! The Greek restaurant, Caesar, was something else. The steaks looked absolutely delicious!

Just subscribed. Love that you both know something about Canada. Your pronunciation of our terms was great. Yes, the caesar drink was invented in Calgary, and many restaurants embelish it with toppings that wound make it a meal in it's self. Your dinner looked great. I would have to say thar the Nanaimo Bar looked a little off. I'm from Ontario. As I said, I am new to your channel so, if you haven't- Toronto, Montreal, and Quebec City would be great visits .

I have lived in Calgary for 20+ years. I recently returned to Calgary this May to visit family after 4 or 5 years of not traveling. Caesers is the best. We talked about this recently on our channel when we ranked Caesars in our top 3 restaurants globally. Also, it is a clam ah toe...not eh! but ah! Also, Caesars is a steakhouse, not a Greek restaurant. The inside of Caesars hasn't changed in decades. Why mess with something that works? New subscriber here.

Toronto has a great restaurant scene. Come to think of it, so does Vancouver, (maybe better than Toronto's), and to some extent, so does Québec, and maybe even Montréal (although Montréal has focused on more 'niche dishes,' like bagels, & pizza). Food-wise, mostly only two cultures have made Canada what it is today: Chinese, and to a lesser extent, French. Outside of these, the third greatest positive influence on the Canadian food scene are the indigenous cultures and the many ancient local ingredients. So if you aren't going to eat "Duck Confit" or "Pâté de Foie Gras" in Québec City, or "Fried Lobster in XO Sauce" in Toronto, you'll be feasting on "Grilled Moose Steaks" in upper Saskatchewan, or "Stewed Seaweed-Berries with Salted Giant Cod" up on the coast of Labrador. Truly, Canada had a unique and underrated World-Class Culinary Scene that has yet to be discovered and explored by the more influential palettes on the planet. I just wonder which of the great (non-US) food cities will be the first to open an authentic "Canadian Restaurant," Paris, Amsterdam, Dubai, Tokyo, Sydney, Singapore, Geneva, Shanghai, Berlin, etc. My money is on Tokyo or Amsterdam. Tokyo because they are taken-in by fads there, and Amsterdam because it was the first city in Europe to open an authentic Mexican Restaurant, and because it has easier access to Canadian Ingredients. Either way, I'll be there on opening day, cash in-hand, with my mouth open and my tongue hanging out.

Most of these food items are Quebecois food and wont be as delicious when made in anglo Canada. This is like eating a philly cheesesteak in LA or a cajun gumbo in Seattle. For instance, maple syrup really isnt a Canadian thing because 90% of the maple syrup production in Canada is from Quebec, where they have special celebrations and restaurants based on maple syrup alone
