Times have changed and I'm not sure we would totally recommend moving to Calgary. It’s now the third most expensive city in Canada. However, with the boom and bust that the city is known for, there's a high chance it could collapse like it did in 2008. However, rents have gone up by 25% in one year and there's almost nothing on the market. You'd need a salary of $150K just to buy a basic townhouse. When we get a moment, we'll try and do a part 2 because this is really getting insane and the government continues to make it worse.
@@cityboyis2 It's not inflation. This occured way back at the end of 2020 with a 25% increase in prices overnight. Last time this happened was 2007 right before the 30% crash in 2008. Unless salaries are doubling this year, it's a mega problem
My girlfriend took me on my first trip out of manitoba last year to calgary because she has family living there, I tell you my soul stayed in calgary when I had to come back home, I hope to one day in the next couple years be able to move there, such a beautiful place with amazing people!
@P W I had a good time in Winnipeg but still can't possibly compare. Manitoba wins for lakes for sure, but that's it. Alberta has bigger cities, some of the best mountains in the country, the best badlands in the country, the foothills, the prairies, etc. also closer to other other major cities, such as Vancouver
My partner and I live in Winnipeg. He grew up here and I moved here 16 yrs ago from Vancouver (for the cost of living). We are on the cusp of closing on a purchase of a townhome in Lakeview near the Glenmore Reservoir. I will miss my cabin on Lake Winnipeg, but we cannot wait to relocate to our new Calgary home in 2 years! I’m excited to SUP down the river :)
@@beaniebitsbaby9257 Why are you leaving Winnipeg? That sounds like a very nice neighbourhood. Expensive? (Suping the river is great. However, they don't allow it in the reservoir, which is rediculous.
@@MustDoCanada We are leaving because we want more outdoor options and a good international airport for travel after we retire. Yes, I think Lakeview is a pricier neighbourhood, but we are downsizing and bought a 1976 townhouse so that we could be close to North Glenmore Park. I would have loved to return to BC to be closer to my friends and family, but THAT’S expensive! I think Calgary will get progressively more expensive because it’s long been behind in housing prices from everywhere else. For me, Calgary is the city you get when you combine Vancouver and Winnipeg. And it will be cheap for us to drive or fly to either city.
I've been living in Calgary for about 10 years and I can say it feels like a home to me, its summers are hot, its winters are cold and all of its seasons are equally beautiful. In the summers, the temperature usually averages around 25-30 degrees celsius each day and in winters its -20 to -35 celsius a day. Its not as cold as people say it is but the feeling of the autumn wind stirs something great in you and one think I like about it is that the teachers in our schools are particularly friendly and humorous, atleast from the schools that I went to.
Hahaha! The -25-30 degrees usually last for 1week from the end of January. Not this year though - this January and February every day we have plus! This December reached the record of the coldest month in many years.
I am born and raised in Calgary and I moved away for about 10 years, but I had to come back because there’s no place like Calgary in the world, some of the things I learned from your video, make me so happy like being one of the cleanest cities in the world is so cool every other place I’ve lived I’ve wondered why it wasn’t as clean as Calgary🤣 I guess now I know, it’s honestly my favourite place to be. You guys did Calgary justice in this video.❤️❤️❤️❤️
Moved here 22 years ago. Super clean city with two fresh Rocky Mountain water running throw it. Huge international Airport and beautiful Chinooks during the winter that warms up the city most times for days on end.. Stunning city.
I moved here in 1985 as a work transferee from Montreal. It's a great place to live when you're raising a family and working. However, once those things are done, not so much. I have a golf membership, which we use for about 5 months, and we have e-bikes, which are great on the many paths. Now that we're retired, though, we get away for 4 months in the winter to Mexico. Half the folks in my complex also go south, whether it be Palm Springs, Phoenix or Vegas. There's a reason (well, maybe many)!
Calgary in Big Sky country is a lovely city in a beautiful area, with Rocky Mountains as a back drop. Winters are long and cold, but great for people that enjoy winter sports.
We've lived in both NB and the GTA and moved to Calgary 9 years ago. This was an amazing life changed for us. We actually get outdoors in the winter here after hibernating for most of my life during winter. We're so close to the mountains and love downhill skiing, cross country skiing and hiking. I'm in the mountains most weekend because it's only an hour drive.
What a beautiful city. A shame about the public transportation: I have a medical condition that makes driving very difficult, and the one thing I really did find frustrating living in Canada was the lack of options for people without cars. It's kind of shocking, too, for a country that is otherwise so good at being aware of accessibility: there are loads of reasons (old age, young age, low income, medical conditions, etc) why a person might not be able to drive, and it's sad that something that would make so many lives so much easier is not often available. Honestly, aside from thatched cottages, the thing I missed most from England was the trains. Getting around the UK without a car is actually really easy: getting around Canada, you have to fly or drive.
Yeah for sure. I mean, we don’t take the bus so I can’t give an opinion but the c-train is quite good. But yes overall, public transportation def does not compare to Europe.
@@dmitrypolyakov5708 Ah, sorry, I wasn't in Calgary: I studied in Kelowna (interior BC) for two years. I meant that it was a shame to hear that the public transport issue was the same across so much of Canada - I guess it was confusing!
I'm from Calgary and moved to the west coast many years ago. I do still enjoy videos which extol the many virtues of Calgary. Thank you. One thing you missed are the people. In general Calgarians are optimistic, positive and open to innovation. The one thing I miss about Calgary is that "can do" attitude of almost everybody. However, I think you have to be fair and describe some of the downsides of life in Calgary; car dependancy is a real issue, public transportation is horrible,, only the most expensive and older parts of Calgary are walkable, boom and bust cycles are still a thing, stratified social structures that make upward mobility harder then they need to be and, finally, when it is cold it really is too damn cold.
IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING IMMIGRATING, PLEASE READ: The video leaves out a lot that should be mentioned, especially if you are considering leving your home country for Calgary. Moved from Germany and lived in Calgary for 5 years before moving back, the winters are long and cold. There is no fall, it goes straight from a short summer to a long winter. Spring is ups and downs causing wet and messy roads and green spaces before transitioning into a summer filled with hail storms and wild fire smoke. The Median cost for apartments in Calgary is $2,116, which is 10% higher than the national average. The provincial government is removing/white washing indigenous history from the school curriculum, starving rural areas of access to family doctors and medical clinics which forces them into the cities - thereby overwhelming the health system. The provincial government is also privatizing areas of the health care system (Thought Canada had "Universal Health Care", think again! Still have to pay for dentist, optometry and medication out of pocket! Now more is getting the privatization treatment). Want car insurance? Calgary has the 3rd highest average in the country at $1316 per year. Heard of the Alberta Advantage? That is pure propaganda/misinformation. Alberta's purchasing power has declined by 3.6%, while it increased by 3.3% in the rest of the country. This is an underperformance of 6.9% relative to the rest of Canada. Low taxes/No Provincial Tax? Sounds nice right? It would be, if Alberta didn't depend on high oil prices to make it work. The issue is that Alberta is very much tied to Oil and Gas, and needs it to perform well. If it doesn't, then social services are cut, education is cut, Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) is cut (things that would normally be stabilized by a provincial tax. Unfortunately, for Alberta, O&G isn't what it used to be, and there's been nothing but cuts to health care, education, and social services for vulnerable people since before COVID. Not to mention the most recent issue with this place - their apparent opposition towards the LGBT community. The government recently announced policy changes including a ban on hormonal treatment, puberty blockers and gender-confirmation surgery for children 15 years old and younger. Remember, no doctors or legal experts had a say in this, this was purely decided by a few politicians based on their "beliefs." This city isn't it's all cracked up to be, and everyone here in the comments saying their proud to be Calgarian need to be more critical of what's going on in their city. I worked front line at your Emergency/Urgent Cares during COVID, and was regularly harassed and threatened by antivaxx protestors. Then, when the election came last year, Calgary was the deciding city to vote out the premier than pandered/encouraged these antivaxxers and, guess what, Calgary voted for her! What a slap in the face to all health care workers that risked their lives and even died to serve YOUR community. You voted in the leader of the people that did the most damage and threatened people's families without consequence. I am so happy I left.
"opposition towards the LGBT community" = you mean the government doesn't support confusing young people and insane wokeness? yes, this is good thing and you probably don't belong here, in fact everything you wrote indicates extreme wokeness
I like watching videos about different cities, but this one was especially catching eye, your love for this city just pours out from the screen, thank you for sharing!
Ive been here for 12+ years and I find Calgary can be lonely. It has a lot of transient people and I feel it is very money driven. I made some great friends but they all ended up moving to other places. This isnt a condemnation but I feel that it is still trying to find its identity in some ways. I opted to stay and raise a family here because of the standard of living it provides.
I 100% agree with you. I also made a bunch of good friends the first years but they are all long gone now. I have been here almost 10 years. I find that people don't really stay in Calgary. They move here for a job and they are usually gone after 1-3 years. And yes, on top of being pretty lonely, it's also pretty boring to be honest so I think a lot of people come from the money and end up going back East because you have a lot more to do. Raising a fam in Calgary is great though and I am staying for the same reasons you stated.
I moved to Calgary for work and really struggled to connect despite being a social person and trying so many clubs, sports, organizations, etc. over many years. For some reason the Calgary culture is just not friendly. I left and don’t miss it at all.
I'm delighted to have come across your video. My family and I are currently in the process of immigrating to your country, with the aim of arriving in December of this year. We are filled with excitement and eagerly anticipate the opportunity to experience the beauty of this wonderful country.
I have come across numerous videos portraying the negative aspects of living in Canada, causing many individuals to leave. However, after watching your videos, I feel encouraged and inspired to pursue a life with my family in your country. Your content has instilled a sense of optimism within me, and I am now more determined than ever to embark on this journey and build a fulfilling life for my loved ones.
@@nklacs2473Calgary is not a friendly city. The locals don't like immigrants. Edmonton is way better and friendlier people. Avoid Calgary if you can....

@tumslucks9781 You must be from Calgary or from one of those illiterate town far in the middle of nowhere. Most people closer to the cities are actually friendly and welcoming. And immigration is an issue we all acknowledge and want fixes including some Indians or Chinese or other ethnic groups that live here.
That's why I drive a Jeep Rubicon Gladiator here in Calgary. Four wheel drive, lots of ground clearance, so deep snow is fun to drive in and not a problem, but you need studded snow tires in winter for ice. We have lots of hills. Overlanding in the summer. I like the winter for ice climbing in the Ghost, Canmore, Kananaskis, and north of Lake Louise on the Ice Fields Parkway. Both nordic, back country, and downhill skiing. White water playboat kayaking in the summer. And a lifetime of mountain hiking trails. Lots of bike trails. Fatbikes work well in the winter. Ebikes are very popular.
Yeah, we just realized our video was mostly pros so we're gonna make a "cons" video now too. Never thought cost of living would become the #1 problem here
Born raised and will die in this city most likely. Great video and spot on! Thanks for the coverage of this great Canadian city. I would also recommend an Ebike to get around as there are around 3k worth of cycling pathways around the city.
Calgarian here 🤠 Calgary is a clean, safe, friendly and beautiful city, close to the gorgeous mountains/mountain towns (Banff is literally paradise, IMO) 🌿 I love living in Calgary - it's a fantastic place to raise a family or enjoy your childfree life (I'm a dog mom, myself!) 😊
That's changing quickly. Now the highest cost of living in Canada. Highest unemployment rate. Banff is extremely crowded for 6 months. We've been here 20 years already but the main advantages are gone
I love Calgary because my son is studying in University of Calgary. We've come to know that it's a very nice place and a beautiful hilly area of Banff is present in its suburbs.
I love you guys, love your videos, love our city, and am happy you are here now. I implement my dream to travel across Canada with your channel. Thank you.
Hey guys. Amazing video! We've been in Canada for almost 6 years now and the for the last 2 years we have lived in Calgary. I've watched lots of your videos and it was a surprise for me to find out you are from Calgary. Your channel is cool. Feels like I can travel from my place.
"we have been living" & "I watched." while it's not too dramatic and everyone will definitely understand you and natives tend to be way less strict grammar-wise than we get thought in school I came to notice myself, it's still a general rule of thumb to better use perfect tense continuous for something that you started in the past and still keep on doing and simple past tense for something you happened to do in the past. just tried to point it out because those two examples are so close together (like low hanging fruits, almost 😅). and I definitely don't try to like, "pull you down" or something stupid (as coming off the wrong way is sometimes just too easy over the Internet) but wanting to help ya out, my fellow immigrant 😅 (okay, I temporarily moved back for now because it turned out, even Canada isn't like too easy to migrate to, but I used to live in Calgary as well. oh, and throwing my two cents in: the thing Europeans might underestimate the most is the wind, lol. no really, it's-umm-annoying most times. I definitely wasn't used to this nor did I expect it .. or shall I rather say, "was expecting it?" however, English is still a way less complicated language than German about which I'm very grateful, lol. sorry anyone for getting a tad on the longer side, lol.) cheers!
@@MustDoCanada 100%. It is underestimated by most people. There is lots of stuff to do there. I saw your last video from there a few months ago. I would recommend visiting it to everyone. It seems to me it's one of best places to come and settle down as a new immigrant since Saskatoon is quite small and fairly quiet, everything is within 25-minute drive max from one side of the city to the other. It depends on personal preferences. Lots of people like it and stay there. We wanted to live in a bigger city so we moved to Calgary.
We love Calgary! It's definitely growing and very multi cultural. Lots of green space and majority of the population are very nice and respectful. Calgary Stampede is must to see!
The South Park animation crew members have profusely/quite frequently took a poke at the Canadian residents. Terrence and Philip were the principal Canadian cartoon characters who were based on real-life people.
Cost isn't the only reason for choosing a place to live. One thing for sure, living in Calgary is great for someone who loves the outdoors, and loves to travel since Calgary's airport is well connected. As for the cost of housing, a person can move farther out such as a nearby town. Where I am, its common for people to commute 50 miles one way (80 km) or more due to the cost of housing.
Oh for sure, but since 2015, housing in Canada has increased 50%, making us basically the worst in the world now. Even a townhouse would require an income of $150K, which is pretty bad. Hopefully, it will collapse soon like it did in 2008. But yeah, any town within an hour of Calgary is almost as expensive. You would have to go maybe 100 miles at least to save $150k
@@albundy9706 nah, it's happened many times. Calgary goes through it every 8 years 25-30%. Condos haven't even recovered yet from their 2007 highs. The country needs it
We recently moved to Calgary from Toronto. Calgary is great during summer - parks, trails, Banff, Canmore, lakes.. So much to do and see. HOWEVER. We had a snow storm in beginning of November and we were just SHOCKED by how the roads are. FYI residential areas ARE NOT PLOWED. Roads are in very bad conditions, plazas are not plowed and cleaned. Ice everywhere. It WAS A SHOCK to us. Nobody talks about it, but it is a huge problem for us. All locals I talk to here, saying "oh, it is normal. City just doesn't care". Highways are all right as it is being taken care of by province. Main roads are hit and miss, residential areas and plazas (including parking lots) are in BAD CONDITION. .
Recent post 2014 or about the snow . Perhaps a good day. Historically much better than Toronto and all the salt. I’m talking over 25 years. That being said tender agree there has been negligent in the last eight or so years in Calgary
Since it’s the second largest concentration of head offices historically and a lot of corporations have left - less budget for snow. Noticed this also. Its a sunny original thinking less corporate baked in tradition can-do area. I miss it.
I dropped my ticket in the C-train and had to pay a heavy fine after the controller found out I did not have it in my pocket anymore. Yet I still love Calgary and think it is the best city on the planet. And now it seems you can actually get the pass in your phone, even if Matt still loves those good old-fashioned paper tickets.

Hi, Matt and Karla. It's nice to see you again. I'm preparing everything to move to Canada, but I didn´t know much about Calgary, so your video it's really helpful. What a beautiful place! I hope we can meet each other soon. Wish you the best =)
I moved to Calgary last year, July 2022. It’s a beautiful city but of course the cold days which I’m not accustomed to, coming from Ontario. I also noticed that roads are not cleaned during winter and the ice keep piling up which for one is dangerous and very unsafe to drive on. And not only the road but even on the major highways they take long to get them clean. I noticed no one commented on that and my pet peeve is seeing all these beautiful cars with crack windshields, every other vehicle has a crack windshield which is unfortunate and a turn off for me. So I’m thinking to head back to Ontario due to those concerns for me.
Love Calgary! Moved from Toronto! Had been in Toronto for 18 years! Love Toronto but Calgary won our ❤. It is a very safe , clean and sunny city! Also, people are soooooo happy and friendly!!!!
I personally live in Grande Prairie Alberta and I would really like to move to Calgary so this video really encouraged me, I am thinking of moving in the next couple of years. Gp has not great winters as Calgary does as well but pretty nice summers and the heat wave was 100% a dream to me because I really enjoy hot weathers.
Beautiful video about Calgary, my favorite Canada's city...Hmm, this couple perfectly illustrates what i've always thought: With all due respect, my viewpoint on this is that we, Spanish-speaking people emphasize the syllabes when speaking, while native English-speaking people emphasize the consonants. (So Carla emphasizes syllabes, and Matt consonants....Pretty cool couple, by the way!)
My entire family is going to be moving into Calgary and I can’t wait First just to make sure we are taking a vacation during the summer then afterwards if we enjoyed it then we will move Also great job on making the video I enjoyed it
We started our Roadtrip to Vancouver in Calgary, and we definitely can confirm this being one of the most beautiful cities we have ever visited. Despite having 1.4M inhabitants, you can feel the impressive nature around you. Unfortunately, we only spent 2 days there, but if we ever travel to Canada again, we will spend much more time in Calgary for sure.
More needs to be done in Calgary to protect cyclists, pedestrians and motorcyclists on your roads. My son was hit on May 29th, 2020 and passed from his injuries, by a driver who had no regard for my sons right to be on the road. He moved there in 2018. I wish he had stayed in California where there are more cycle friendly roads.
My funny tourist story about Calgary. When my wife and I visited Calgary we stood at a 4 lane major highway close to downtown (Memorial Drive). As we weren’t sure where to go, we stood at the side of the road and checked the map. Suddenly the cars were stopping and we crossed all 4 lanes. We actually didn’t have to cross it but we felt obliged as the kind Calgarians already had stopped. 😂👍❤
Hi Matt and Karla. If I moved to Calgary I would miss out on the Elks/Stamps and Oilers/Flames rivalries. Of course there is the ABC joke - Anywhere But Calgary. LOL. Train not underground is due to an extremely high water table . Also factory in Wynn LRT were built in Calgary and Edmonton at the same time it was smallest cities in North America to have this kind of train system. Nobody thought it would survive outside Alberta . Look at it now. The main reason it was above the ground is I believe astronomical additional cost . And was struck down due to ‘ eye sore ‘. I tend to agree imho
@@MustDoCanada it is wonderful. That said edmonton does not have nearly as high a water table as calgary so could be done easily in city centre. Downtown calgary is a flood zone+ extreme high water table
But the snowwww and colddd. But we moving back to Canada, don't know to where yet. We do love the snow, mountains, and Banff, always wanted to live close to it. We lived in Windsor Ontario for 20 years, now in New Zealand for 17 years, and it is getting too hot.

Thanks for making this video. Pretty ominous beginning to the description though: "we no longer recommend people move here". Could you elaborate on that? Thanks!
Lol, yes for sure. Surprisingly, since making this video, things have changed dramatically and Calgary has entered a housing crisis. Rents have soared 55% since making this video and real estate has gone up 20% or so. bidding wars, etc. Calgary is the #1 boom and bust city, so a crash is expected soon. I spent 13 years in Calgary, reason the C Train is not below ground is due to the possibility of flooding in low lying areas. It is the best city in Canada bar none. Clean, safe, lots of things to do. Close to fly to US cities like Los Angeles and Vegas. GFG!
We like it too but unfortunately, that’s changing quick, especially with real estate going off the charts. Like usual, there will likely be a collapse soon like in 2008 and 2016, but right now its bonkers. Crime is also rapidly rising. But yes, we will stay at-least one more year and make it 20
Remember, people who put down public transportation in Calgary are people who don't use it. It's actually quite good if you stick to the bus. The train has all the problems every train in every city has.

I think Calgary will get progressively more expensive because it’s long been behind in housing prices from everywhere else. For me, Calgary is the city you get when you combine Vancouver and Winnipeg. And it will be cheap for us to drive or fly to either city.
Proud Calgarian here for 11 years. So happy and proud to be living in this beautiful City.
Recently the summer temperature will rise to 35-37 degrees and keep in a week many times during July -Sept, winter were the coldest place in Canada.
@danvlad3081 true.. its a lame city
Moved here 22 years ago. Super clean city with two fresh Rocky Mountain water running throw it. Huge international Airport and beautiful Chinooks during the winter that warms up the city most times for days on end.. Stunning city.
Yeeehaw!
There's a reason (well, maybe many)!
i was already sold on moving to calgary but this video sold me even more.
haha when u coming?
I was born in Toronto and moved to Calgary mid life and wow do I love it here.
Happy to hear!
Help me make a decision to move away from Toronto. Hahaha
Calgary in Big Sky country is a lovely city in a beautiful area, with Rocky Mountains as a back drop. Winters are long and cold, but great for people that enjoy winter sports.
Totally. We really think you need to embrace the winter. Otherwise, it's a long time in the dark lol
The mountains really do make winter a great time! We love it equally to summer now
What a beautiful city.
Why did you move to Calgary from the UK?
Please tell us about Edmonton city if I have to buy house their , please make video on Edmonton city also . Thank you
@@dmitrypolyakov5708 Ah, sorry, I wasn't in Calgary: I studied in Kelowna (interior BC) for two years. I meant that it was a shame to hear that the public transport issue was the same across so much of Canada - I guess it was confusing!
@@sangeetsharma935 We will try and do one in the near future. May have to be the winter lol
For sure. I think we’d love the island. Or even the east coast too
100% and Calgary is def not a bustling city if you compare it to Toronto, Montreal or even Vancouver. It's pretty bland, honestly.
Spend a winter in Edmonton, and Calgary will seem like Hawaii
IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING IMMIGRATING, PLEASE READ:
The video leaves out a lot that should be mentioned, especially if you are considering leving your home country for Calgary.
Remember, no doctors or legal experts had a say in this, this was purely decided by a few politicians based on their "beliefs."
This city isn't it's all cracked up to be, and everyone here in the comments saying their proud to be Calgarian need to be more critical of what's going on in their city.
Great video. I’m from Lethbridge Alberta and we love having Calgary so close. We do a lot of little staycations in Calgary!

I like watching videos about different cities, but this one was especially catching eye, your love for this city just pours out from the screen, thank you for sharing!
This place is definitely the home of the clasdic human cartoon character Dudley Do-Right.
Super cool video guys ! I am considering a move to Canada with my family. So will dave deeper in to your website. Cheer from UK
Friends come and go no matter where you live, the key is to keep making new ones 😏
This is the same for me in BC. Lots of people moved away because of how expensive it got to live here.
I absolutely agree with you.
I moved to Calgary for work and really struggled to connect despite being a social person and trying so many clubs, sports, organizations, etc. over many years. For some reason the Calgary culture is just not friendly. I left and don’t miss it at all.
Love this city! We are so lucky to be surrounded by so much!!
Great video, gang!
Right? Now we just hope house prices drop a little bit haha
@@brownnomad6805 I
India is the worlds most populous country.
Canada is the largest country by area but it doesn't mean we're obligated to accept an infinity of Indian immigrants..
True! Ebikes are great
how do you get around on a ebike in winter?
Great to hear!

Oh wow. Thanks! Where were you before?
We lived in Saskatoon for almost 4 years, then moved to Calgary in October 2020
I definitely wasn't used to this nor did I expect it .. or shall I rather say, "was expecting it?" however, English is still a way less complicated language than German about which I'm very grateful, lol. sorry anyone for getting a tad on the longer side, lol.)
cheers!
@@dmitrypolyakov5708 oh cool. How was Saskatoon. Seems like it has a cool vibe too
@@MustDoCanada 100%.
Great video, best one i’ve seen in this category! See you in 2 months Calgary!

Great video. We will definitely come to check it out.
@@MustDoCanada If housing crashes, Canada will plunge into a deep DEEP depression. Our economy is now severely dependent on it unfortunately
Main roads are hit and miss, residential areas and plazas (including parking lots) are in BAD CONDITION.
.
That's true. We forgot about that as it wasn't winter yet, but yes, it can be bad. Was Toronto better at this?
Recent post 2014 or about the snow . Perhaps a good day. Historically much better than Toronto and all the salt. I’m talking over 25 years. That being said tender agree there has been negligent in the last eight or so years in Calgary
Since it’s the second largest concentration of head offices historically and a lot of corporations have left - less budget for snow. Noticed this also.
Its a sunny original thinking less corporate baked in tradition can-do area.
I miss it.

I really love their videos
I'm currently living in montreal, but I already lived in Calgary, I really miss Calgary, I hope i can come back to live in the nest summer!
oh yeah? You like it better than Montreal?

More needs to be done in Calgary to protect cyclists, pedestrians and motorcyclists on your roads. My son was hit on May 29th, 2020 and passed from his injuries, by a driver who had no regard for my sons right to be on the road. He moved there in 2018. My funny tourist story about Calgary. When my wife and I visited Calgary we stood at a 4 lane major highway close to downtown (Memorial Drive). As we weren’t sure where to go, we stood at the side of the road and checked the map.
Interesting. Edmonton's is underground, which seems smart for both winter and for not clogging up traffic.

2- Water is very scarce in major cities
3- there are municipal franchise fees on all utility bills
4- municipalities charge for waste water
5- Alberta has the highest property taxes in the country

Thanks so much! We, or especially me (Matt) would love to have a show on TV. Many ideas for it, but not even sure where to start. That's the nice thing about TH-cam I guess. You can just start as you wish. As for the t-shirts, it's a local company in Calgary: locallaundry.ca/

However, it would be a tough place to move right now as there's very limited inventory, in addition to some of the highest unemployment rates in the country.
@@MustDoCanada Thanks for the reply! I have very recently been presented with the opportunity to live in Calgary or possibly Canmore. I work remotely so don't need to worry about employment. As an avid mountain biker and nature lover I'm somewhat more attracted to Canmore, but also enjoy having a bit of a city vibe which Calgary would no doubt have more of. Decisions...
@@joseph-the-seventh oh nice. Coming from where? Yeah I mean, I dont want to scare you lol. I do see places to rent still. They just went up a lot. Canmore is gorgeous but 2x the price of calgary.
@@MustDoCanada Coming from Toronto. I've spent a lot of time in BC, mostly mainland Vancouver. Love it there. Have not yet been to Alberta. You were right about prices in Canmore!
Come visit The Hidden Gem local artisan market in Kensington, Calgary! We have 87 local vendirs inside showcasing their creations! Open 7 days a week! Great way to see Calgary local and small business all in one convenient spot!! See you on the inside!
We love living in Calgary! It’s a great city!
Yeah, it was decent until the speculators ruined it
Plan moving to Alberta from Prince George, still trying to decide where to move to, Calgary or Edmonton.
We hope to move with job offers …fingers crossed .
Thanks for the video guys
Tough to say. I think Calgary wins overall for beauty and the mountains but Edmonton has a lot of festivals, is cheaper, and has many lakes nearby
youve convinced us, were moving there soon
That's great and all but would help to talk about the low points of Calgary as well
Yes, we kinda regret not doing so in this video, so we're gonna try and make a part 2 soon. To be honest, our thoughts have changed a liot in the last 8 months and personally would not recommend anyone move here at the moment. Prices are skyrocketing to record levels, including rent, making it less attractive. Even Kelowna is the same price now and offers much more in terms of lifestyle. Plus, Calgary is boom and bust and right now is boom, which means a bust is around the corner
I live in Victoria bc and it foes get a lot of rain but also sometimes some snow but it does not last very long, for example recently just a few days ago it snowed overnight then all melted the next day
Victoria is a beautiful spot too. Van Island would be high on our list if were to move
Yea it’s nice though I wish we got more snow because I like snow and go crazy when I see it
Hello guys, thank you for sharing your thoughts. My and my girlfriend are from Argentina and we want to move to Canada. I was wondering if you have or have plans to make a video in Spanish (becase there a lot of latin American people who are interested in Canada) thanks for your time! 😊
We've thought about that lots over the years, but TH-cam has said that if we do that, we should start a new channel, which is too much work hah
Lived in esmonton my whole life went to clagary once but I was just staying downtown there so it didn't seem to doffrenr from edmonton
thanks for sharing
Beautiful city. What about job opportunity for those wanting to move permanently?
Generally speaking, we usually have more jobs than most other cities, but it's hard to say exactly
