Thanks so much for watching! 😊 Tummy aches in babies are really one of the main reasons why new parents seek our advice! And very often we find that the baby is either not burped at all or not properly burped. Because of that, we decided to record this video. It is not only supposed to help you prevent that the gas goes into the baby’s digestive tract. We also wanted to show you what you can do if it DOES happen!
Hello mam.... I visited my doctor... But I didn't find solution.... So I'm asking ur suggestion about using nipple shield... Will it be usefull... Does it have any side effects? Does it minimise the production of milk ?please help.....
Hello mam .. hope you are doing good.. mam my baby is now 2 months and he sleeps most of the time .. he wakes up for his meal and he sleeps .. sometimes he doesn't sleep at all for very long duration'.. is this normal mam?
@@snehadayalusnehadayalu7906 Hi there! 😊 Over the first 3 months, babies do sleep A LOT. And they also sleep irregularly. They normally only learn a routine from 3 months onwards. So this can be totally normal. Nevertheless, you can try to start implementing a sleep routine already, so that your baby internalizes it faster. We teach such a routine in this video: th-cam.com/video/C1_rqoioZ68/w-d-xo.html We hope this helps! All the best for you and your baby! ❤️
😂😂 We really missed your comments on our channel!! We are tempted to only produce baby videos from now on, in order to see more of your comments! 😊 OR: you work on your next kid!! How about that??
@@CareAboutLittleOnes OHHHHHH BOY lmao I have 3 kids already! I’m not sure if I want another. 2 girls 1 boy. Baby is 8 weeks yesterday. Have the postpartum check up today
@@Chloewaterz 😂 3 or 4 kids really doesn't make any difference! No! Hold on, we didn't just say that! 🤐🤐🤐 Your baby is 8 weeks already?? Incredibly how time flies! We hope that both, you and the baby are well! 😊
Our six week old hadn't pooped in a few days & was definitely uncomfortable. I did the massage before a diaper change, nursed him and then did the back burping method. He gave a large burp but I continued to rub his back for another minute or two (to make sure it was all out) and voila, a diaper full of poop & a settled, happy baby. Thank you so much for posting this!!!
Oh fantastic!! Thanks so much for this lovely feedback! We are very happy to hear that our video has helped you!! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

That's great to hear!! In that case, CONGRATULATIONS to baby number 2 from the 2 of us!!! 🥳🥳🥳 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️ Enjoy every second of it!!
Hi there Marika 😊, please don't say that: it's not that you are untalented! It's just that some babies are VERY difficult to burp. Even we at the clinic are not able to burp every baby... 😊
Massage of the tummy in circular movements along the bowel can also be very helpful. Start under the ribs on the right side of the baby's tummy and then left, down, right and back up. Over and over again. During the massage, lightly press the baby's legs against the tummy to facilitate the departure of gases. In the mean time let your baby lie on its tummy for a while. Fennel tea, which facilitates the release of gas, and chamomile tea, which helps in defecation, can also help with the baby's ailments.
You are MOST WELCOME!! 😊 CONGRATULATIONS on your newborn (in case we haven't congratulated you already because with so many babies being born every single day, we completely lost the overview 😅). My baby farts a lot, and holds her burps for the most part. I haven’t noticed she’s in pain from gas trapped but lately I think her stubborn burps are leaving her more uncomfortable. This is a helpful video.
Hi there Angela! 😊 Thanks a lot for sharing and for your feedback! 😘 We too met several babies who did not seem to experience any pain from trapped gas although they were super difficult to burp. So, it certainly depends on the baby. But if a baby farts a lot, it can definitely help trying to burp her more often in order to prevent the gas from entering the digestive system... 😊 We wish you all the best for you and your baby! ❤️
This video is very helpful. My baby was crying so much 1 hour ago. I put him in burping position (that 3 position)and having hard time to burp him. I did already what you have mentioned here. Thanks much
Hi there 😊, we are not gonna lie to you: some babies are very difficult to burp! Even at the clinic, we are not always able to burp a baby. The good news is that this will improve over time. But in the meantime, you can try the following: 1. Sometimes, a burp can only be released after some time. Because of that, it often helps if you keep your baby upright for 10-15 minutes after the feed and to try and burp your baby regularly during that period. 2. One thing which has also helped many women is to regularly burp the baby while you feed him because it may be easier to release smaller burps... For example: you could burp him when switching sides. 3. Sometimes, babies take in lots of air during the feeds when the latch is not optimal. So, if you are not sure if your latch is optimal, maybe, you can find a breastfeeding consultant or midwife to help you with that... 4. If none of his works, try our baby massage treatment (but not earlier than 1 hour after the feed). It's a great way to release the gas "on the other end"... We really hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

Call it coincidence or luck, wow! I just tried the last massage ( massaging the bony prominence) on my 4 months old toe and voila, a fart. He usually struggles to burp because he falls asleep when feeding. I will be trying these techniques going forward . Fingers crossed that they work each time😊
Hi there Emma 😊, that's GREAT to hear! 😊 This should always work! In fact, the massage treatment can even help in case of constipation. And if it does not, then you can also try reflexology: th-cam.com/video/osQtHkAaLaI/w-d-xo.html. It balanced the entire digestive system of your baby. BUT: it's not THAT easy to apply it on such a young baby 😊 We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

This will be lovely to take to work with me! The biggest complaint we have gassy and constipated babies, and part of my job is administering rotavirus vaccines, which can really get a baby's belly upset, but now I can finally (hopefully!) give more helpful advice!
Hi there 😊, thanks so much for your lovely feedback! 😘 By the way: in cases like you describe, we often do the following reflexology treatment: th-cam.com/video/osQtHkAaLaI/w-d-xo.html. It helps re-balance baby's digestive system. It can be tricky to apply when the baby is very little. But it is highly effective. Alternatively, when a baby gets constipated, the treatment that we explain in the following video may help as well: th-cam.com/video/Ki2ka3UEC4M/w-d-xo.html We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST!

My baby has been next to impossible to burp. She has suffered from gas build up and pain since a newborn. Now that she is 8 months old she is able to burp on her own. However, still can get trapped gas. It’s so sad. Very uncomfortable. We tried everything. Holding upright after feeding and burping for 20-30min sometimes without success. Warm baths, tummy massage, bicycle legs etc. We used simethicone drops with some success. But I wish I had been more persistent with these methods. For our baby the car seat works wonders, so if all fails, I take her for a drive.
Hi there! 😊 Thanks A LOT for sharing your story with us! 😘 Please note that some babies are just very difficult to burp. It has nothing to do with you doing anything wrong. Hi can you make this video with real babies in discomfort? If you can record each technique, while they are backed up with gas (maybe amongst the different babies in your clinic?) that would be very helpful! We always see on dummies or calm babies, and this is not so Relatable when I have a live, uncomfortable newborn that needs to be de-gassed right now. Thank you!
Hi there! 😊 Please believe us when we say that we would have loved to record this video with a living newborn. And we can totally understand that people find it difficult to relate to dummies. However, unfortunately, it's not that easy: we cannot just record videos of babies at the clinic and then stream it to millions of people. (Maybe we should get back to producing our own cast! 😅) So, if you haven't been able to make this work based on our dummy-demonstration, then what we recommend is that you take your newborn to a midwife who can demonstrate how correct burping works on your baby. Normally, they are really very helpful and are happy to explain it to you! So, that could be an option... 😊 We are very sorry that we cannot be a better help here! We wish you all the best for you and your baby! 😊

My phone definitely listens to me. My girlfriend just gave birth to my first child and I am trying to be as active as possible in everything from feeding to changing etc and burping is something that I kind of struggle with 😩
Hi there Johnny 😊, KUDOS to you that you support your partner!! We wished all dads would do that! 👍👍 That said, we do hope that this video helps you! Keep in mind, some babies are just extremely difficult to burp. But it should get better as they are getting older. Plus, you can always do the massage if the burping doesn't work (and use the "other end" to get rid of the gas). Just make sure to leave a gap of about 1 hour between the massage and the feeding! We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you, your partner and your baby!! 😊

Thanks so much for your lovely feedback!! 😊🥰 👍 As for baby's problem: here is a video that might help: th-cam.com/video/Ki2ka3UEC4M/w-d-xo.html However, please note that it will only help IF baby is indeed constipated (not all babies are when they don't poop). Sitting up method has always been the best one for my baby. Sometimes I don't even need to rub or pat her back. I just sit her up straight and before I can lean her forward a big ol burp comes out. I find that crossing my legs while sitting on a flat surface and putting the baby on my knees helps lots. The upward angle of my knee seems similar to the "upseat" baby seat positioning her pelvis properly and comfortably, getting her spine naturally straight.
Hi there Tory 😊, thanks A LOT for sharing this with us!! 😊 We never tried the crossed legs approach that you propose here! But we will definitely try this! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby! ❤️

Hi there! 😊 It's a good question and to date, the answer is still not clear. We have written a blog post about this which you can find here: www.careaboutlittleones.com/anti-colic-diets-for-breastfeeding-mothers-do-they-work/ This blog post is actually about colic, however, it applies to the production of gas in babies in general... We hope you still find it helpful! 😊 ALL THE BEST for you and your baby! ❤️
Great video thank you! You said to wait 45mins after eating, before massaging. What if the gas is in there, and they are uncomfortable, after eating? Or would you expect that if it is directly after eating, burping should do the trick? I also heard to not massage while they are crying. What are your thoughts on this?
Hi there 😊, you are MOST WELCOME! 😊 If the gas stays in there right after eating, then burping should do the trick. Massaging them right after eating can make them throw up and it can also be painful for them. Moreover, you are absolutely right: a crying baby should not be massaged. It's completely pointless. And it actually make things worse. Because then, the person who gives the massage will be stressed. The baby will feel that stress and it will be even harder to calm them down. Therefore, a baby should settle first before they get a massage... We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

Hi there 😊, thanks a lot for your feedback! It is very much appreciated!! 😘 When you say your baby vomits a lot after burping: can you tell us if that has improved since you have applied the techniques that we show in this video? If not, then the problem could be related to reflux, particularly, since it is not watery. In that case, we recommend taking your baby to a pediatrician for a checkup so that they confirm that it is indeed reflux and to exclude other reasons for the vomiting... That said, in general, we observe that correct burping can very much improve the problem of vomiting after the feeds. However, it MIGHT be required to burp your baby several times DURING the feed already. So this is something you could try too... We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

So timely! Many thanks for another very informative video! It's not related but I haven't been able to feed my 1 month old baby directly, as I was told my nipples are too big for him (around 22mm). Is there any way and steps to make it happen? It's would be very helpful! I'm currently lactating him using nipples of feeding bottles...
Hi there ❤️, as much as we would love to help here, but there is really only just one thing that can help. And that's a breastfeeding consultant! That's because a breastfeeding consultant has to watch you during breastfeeding, they have to check your breast, your nipples and your baby and then they can give you advice on what to do. We have never ever had a woman whose nipples were too big to breastfeed and personally, we doubt that 22mm is too big to for a baby (with much respect to the person whoever told you that 😊). But again, this is really something that a breastfeeding consultant has to look at... Is there a way that you can get in touch with such a consultant?
@@CareAboutLittleOnes Thank you so much Nathalie and Mathias! There isn't breastfeeding specialists per se around where I live unfortunately but I did speak with a couple of midwives. I was told it was actually more to do with the toughness of my nipples (along with the size). I was guided to massage them well before breastfeeding. Baby needs to get used to it and it seems he is still confused but it's slowly working! Many many thanks for your advice one again and looking forward to your future videos! It would be very helpful if a video could be available about how to overcome baby's confusion related to breastfeeding and bottle feeding.
@@chikaohashi2147 You are MOST WELCOME!! ❤️😊 It's great that you talked to some midwives! It's always best to talk to a specialist who can look into your particular case and can provide feedback based on how you breastfeed. Also, many thanks for your input regarding additional video topics: just to clarify: do you mean the problem that if you do both at the same time (i.e. breastfeeding AND bottle feeding) that your baby gets confused? Looking forward to your reply! 😊
Great video, thank you! Is the massage process safe for newborns? I have a 5 day old baby that is very fussy due to trapped gas (as my best guess). She still has umbilical stump as well. This video has earned a 👍 and subscribe from me!
Hi there 😊, you are MOST WELCOME! Thanks SO MUCH for subscribing!! 😊 Yes, we regularly massage newborns as well and it really helps them a lot. Just make sure that the pressure is very gentle, until your baby is about 3-4 weeks old. Then, the pressure can be a bit firmer. And yes, this also works if she still has the umbilical stump. Just make sure that you work around the stump (if possible without touching it and without getting any oil on it - because ideally, the stump dries out). Hi there 😊, thanks so much for your lovely feedback!! 😘 We are very happy to hear that you find this video helpful!! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️
Oh how I love you guys so much.. I really needed since I already have my baby girl for two weeks and burping is I must say not really an easy task. Recently I've done burping her effectively on my shoulder and I didn't know there are other ways more to do! So many things I learned from you guys keep it up .. you are really helping a first time mom like me who don't know what to do sometimes. You deserve more subscribers!!
Ooooh, that's SO SWEET of you to say!! 😘 Thanks SO MUCH for your lovely feedback!! 😊 We are really really happy that you find our videos helpful! And we really appreciate you telling us that!! 👍❤️ Yes, unfortunately, some babies are just very very difficult to burp! We could tell you MANY stories... So we really hope that at least one of these techniques helps you burp your sweet little baby girl!! ❤️ We wish you all the best for you and your baby!! ❤️
@@CareAboutLittleOnes You two are most welcome.. well deserve that appreciation.. I hope you can also make video about taking care of newborns umbilical cord. Coz my daughter's umbilical is dry already and I noticed it's bulging a little so her pedia recommend to put some binder on it. Do you think it can help?
@@cindygrmn Thanks so much for your input! ❤️😊 We should definitely do a video on taking care of the umbilical cord! We just put it on our list (we are just not yet sure when exactly we can record a video, as there are so many things going on)... To be honest with you: it is the very first time that we hear that there are binders for babies for such situations. Very interesting! We are very curious: what are they supposed to do? Looking forward to your reply! 😊
@@CareAboutLittleOnes Definitely not a problem when it will be uploaded thanks for considering my concern. About the binder thing, it's a norm already in my country (Philippines) to put binder to a newborn (thin sheet of cloth) covering the cord until it becomes dry or it falls off. I never did it at first because for me its not really logical to put and it might collect some bacteria around the navel. But after her check up, her pedia did was cleaned her navel and she tries to push a little the bulging area. And she said worst thing that could happen is, it might lead to hernia? so she told me to watch also for some urine that possible to come out from her navel and hearing that is like a nightmare to me as a first time mom. I'm so alarmed that moment. So, she recomend to put binder so the bulging part will become more flat or to help it close much easier since the navel is bulging so much and I saw a tiny opening on it with little yellowish secretion (but theres no foul smell) on the first two days after the cord was dry. though right now I see her navel is looking good. I know this is something new to you, but I need more guidance and I know you can help me on this.
Over the first 3 months, babies do sleep A LOT. And they also sleep irregularly. They normally only learn a routine from 3 months onwards. So this can be totally normal.
Nevertheless, you can try to start implementing a sleep routine already, so that your baby internalizes it faster. We teach such a routine in this video: th-cam.com/video/C1_rqoioZ68/w-d-xo.html
We hope this helps!
All the best for you and your baby! ❤️

I am grateful for these tips. My baby has a big problem with that, and I am the most untalented person to burp my baby..😢
Hi there Marika 😊,
please don't say that: it's not that you are untalented!

Lift babies' hips up / face babies chin downward on bed, mat, or yoga mat, blanket. Hips higher always relives gas upward & outward.
Interesting technique 🤔
My baby farts a lot, and holds her burps for the most part. I haven’t noticed she’s in pain from gas trapped but lately I think her stubborn burps are leaving her more uncomfortable. This is a helpful video.
Hi there Angela! 😊
Thanks a lot for sharing and for your feedback! 😘
We too met several babies who did not seem to experience any pain from trapped gas although they were super difficult to burp. So, it certainly depends on the baby. But if a baby farts a lot, it can definitely help trying to burp her more often in order to prevent the gas from entering the digestive system... 😊
We wish you all the best for you and your baby! ❤️
This video is very helpful. My baby was crying so much 1 hour ago. I put him in burping position (that 3 position)and having hard time to burp him. I did already what you have mentioned here. Thanks much
Hi there 😊,
we are not gonna lie to you: some babies are very difficult to burp! Even at the clinic, we are not always able to burp a baby.
The good news is that this will improve over time. But in the meantime, you can try the following:
We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

Call it coincidence or luck, wow! I just tried the last massage ( massaging the bony prominence) on my 4 months old toe and voila, a fart.
He usually struggles to burp because he falls asleep when feeding. I will be trying these techniques going forward . Fingers crossed that they work each time😊
Hi there Emma 😊,

This should always work! In fact, the massage treatment can even help in case of constipation.
And if it does not, then you can also try reflexology: th-cam.com/video/osQtHkAaLaI/w-d-xo.html.
It balanced the entire digestive system of your baby. BUT: it's not THAT easy to apply it on such a young baby 😊

By the way: in cases like you describe, we often do the following reflexology treatment: th-cam.com/video/osQtHkAaLaI/w-d-xo.html. It helps re-balance baby's digestive system.
It can be tricky to apply when the baby is very little. But it is highly effective.
Alternatively, when a baby gets constipated, the treatment that we explain in the following video may help as well: th-cam.com/video/Ki2ka3UEC4M/w-d-xo.html

We can only say "Amen" to that! You definitely have to be patient! 😊
Hi there! 😊
Thanks A LOT for sharing your story with us! 😘 Please note that some babies are just very difficult to burp. It has nothing to do with you doing anything wrong. It's just very difficult...

Hi can you make this video with real babies in discomfort? If you can record each technique, while they are backed up with gas (maybe amongst the different babies in your clinic?) that would be very helpful! We always see on dummies or calm babies, and this is not so
Relatable when I have a live, uncomfortable newborn that needs to be de-gassed right now.
Thank you!
Hi there! 😊
Please believe us when we say that we would have loved to record this video with a living newborn. And we can totally understand that people find it difficult to relate to dummies. However, unfortunately, it's not that easy: we cannot just record videos of babies at the clinic and then stream it to millions of people. (Maybe we should get back to producing our own cast! 😅)
So, if you haven't been able to make this work based on our dummy-demonstration, then what we recommend is that you take your newborn to a midwife who can demonstrate how correct burping works on your baby. Normally, they are really very helpful and are happy to explain it to you! So, that could be an option... 😊
We are very sorry that we cannot be a better help here!
We wish you all the best for you and your baby! 😊

My phone definitely listens to me. My girlfriend just gave birth to my first child and I am trying to be as active as possible in everything from feeding to changing etc and burping is something that I kind of struggle with 😩
Hi there Johnny 😊,
KUDOS to you that you support your partner!! We wished all dads would do that! 👍👍
That said, we do hope that this video helps you!
We wish you ALL THE BEST for you, your partner and your baby!! 😊

that's great to hear! Thanks so much for your lovely feedback!! 😊🥰 👍
As for baby's problem: here is a video that might help: th-cam.com/video/Ki2ka3UEC4M/w-d-xo.html
However, please note that it will only help IF baby is indeed constipated (not all babies are when they don't poop).
Thank you!

Hi there Tory 😊,
thanks A LOT for sharing this with us!! 😊 We never tried the crossed legs approach that you propose here! But we will definitely try this! 😊

Thx again! Another question: what mother eats has any impact in baby having/producing more or less gas? Any científic study on that?
Hi there! 😊
It's a good question and to date, the answer is still not clear. We have written a blog post about this which you can find here: www.careaboutlittleones.com/anti-colic-diets-for-breastfeeding-mothers-do-they-work/
This blog post is actually about colic, however, it applies to the production of gas in babies in general...
We hope you still find it helpful! 😊

Great video thank you! You said to wait 45mins after eating, before massaging. What if the gas is in there, and they are uncomfortable, after eating? Or would you expect that if it is directly after eating, burping should do the trick?
I also heard to not massage while they are crying. What are your thoughts on this?
Hi there 😊,
you are MOST WELCOME! 😊
If the gas stays in there right after eating, then burping should do the trick.

Thanks a lot for this informative video. Is there any way we can help an infant having colic?
Hi there 😊,

We do have some information on infant colic. You can find it here: th-cam.com/video/nnoPhT1Gyl0/w-d-xo.html
On top of that, we also offer an online course about how to help a baby with colic with Shonishin, depending on if the colic is based on gastrointestinal or emotional issues. You can find it here: learning.careaboutlittleones.com/courses/baby-colic-massage-course

So helpful 😊 After burping also my baby voimits a lot and it is not watery and my baby is 2 months old.
Hi there 😊,
thanks a lot for your feedback! It is very much appreciated!! 😘
When you say your baby vomits a lot after burping: can you tell us if that has improved since you have applied the techniques that we show in this video? If not, then the problem could be related to reflux, particularly, since it is not watery. In that case, we recommend taking your baby to a pediatrician for a checkup so that they confirm that it is indeed reflux and to exclude other reasons for the vomiting...
That said, in general, we observe that correct burping can very much improve the problem of vomiting after the feeds. However, it MIGHT be required to burp your baby several times DURING the feed already. So this is something you could try too...
We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️
Big help. Thank You☺️

Hi there ❤️,
as much as we would love to help here, but there is really only just one thing that can help.
Hi there 😊,
you are MOST WELCOME! Thanks SO MUCH for subscribing!! 😊
Yes, we regularly massage newborns as well and it really helps them a lot.
We hope this helps! 😊
We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!!

Thank you for your help ♡
