Any Primarch is largely able to do what the others are capable of except Vulkan and his unkillability and what not. Guilliman is good for administrative purposes but any could fill his role and still achive a modicum of success

It is biased just based on the title. Guilliman was the perfect choice, due to the fact that he was the only primarch to rule over and have a vastly improved empire. His citizens were way better off than the rest of the imperium. Better management of resources and his planets were not as polluted. There is a ton of things that he just did better. He not only conquered but also rebuilt the planets he did conquer. Most cases they became better than they were before.
It would be perfect to get Dorn, Gulliman and the lion. So you can have the defences, the politics and the sword.
Gulliman still needs to lead the imperium but then he can focus on removing the faith as they have 2 specialised primarchs defending the imperium
Removing faith from a galactic empire based only on faith and nothing else is a really bad idea

I would take Guilliman over Dorn, don't get me wrong, Dorn is a tank in his own right but ideally I would have Dorn and Guilliman as a tag team.

I'm biased. I love Dorn, he's one of my favorite Primarch. But I agree with you.
If Valrak would have lead GW evrything that Ultramarines " AMAZINGLY" done would have been done by Imperial Fists, Vorn Hagan or Lysander as basicly spiritual liege, and some Kator Sycarion, (all PrimaPrimaris), every iron warriors just Team Rocket to the sky . Also EVERY PRIMARCH RETURNS
Not only would all primarchs return, belusarius cawl and fabius bile would have made clones of the primarchs not on their side
You forgot to mention one fact: Dorn would have never dared to engineer the Primaris without consulting the remaining brothers first. Even then he might not have done it, preferring to focus on improving the equipment of the Astartes rather than the Astartes themselves.
40K would be really boring if Dorn ran things - everyone would just sit in a fortress on Terra and not go out and do anything.

@@GentlemanBystander it was brutal on the iron warriors but it also entirely proves the opposite of this video. Dorn let emotions get the better of him and he almost lost the entire imperial fists chapter despite warning from guilliman who then came to his rescue. Also dont get me wrong guilliman is a boy scout, I would have much preferred another primarch (the khan, the lion, or Rus specifically) but he does make the most sense as regent.
@@jakemyers2923 Dorn didn't do the Iron Cage out of emotion, it was a cold plan. He wanted to put his legion through a metaphorical pain glove (the thing imperial fists use to torture themselves for failures) so that the Imperial Fists could be reborn and ready to adopt the codex astartes. While the initial decision to go after pert was out of anger and grief, he had meditated in the pain glove and saw what needed to be done. He choose to go in without a plan, not out of grief and anger but because he wanted a brutal slog that would bring the Fists to the breaking point where they would be reborn through suffering and sacrifice.
@@anthonysauls1446 I get that but attacking completely unprepared with no fallback options goes completely against imperial fist combat doctrines and essentially a suicide mission. Which is a super emotional response to breaking his beloved legion apart.

Fighting the iron warriors in a siege battle of course it makes sense why this was appealing, going in completely unprepared with no ability to fall back, well this may seem extreme and it absolutely is but Rogal Dorn believed they needed somethinf extreme to recreate the legion. It would have to experience extreme pain. Furthermore it was symbolic, going against imperial fist doctrine and his own nature is not something they did, so to do son in such an extreme ways was symbolic of breaking the old ways and being reborn, at least that's what I am getting from it.
@@anthonysauls1446 I could see that, i just interpretted it more in the sense he already suffered massive trauma leading to depression from when he found the body of the emperor on the vengeful spirit and then nearly started a civil war trying to hold on to his legion and a sense the past so this was almost an attempt at suicide, either redeem himself/prove himself superior by destroying the iron warriors and perturabo or die trying type of thing.

Liam Docherty exactly what I was thinking, he helped and saved a lot of systems, leaving Ultramar while it was under siege by the Death Guard and Mortarion himself, than he came back and 100 years to retake his part of the Imperium, I see nothing wrong with that
Dorn is in no way the statesman that Guilliman is. And they wouldn't pick a chapter/legion that was at one point extinct! The smurfs have never had the Dino treatment.
The Imperial Fists are still highly respected and they spearheaded The indominus Crusade by order of Guilliman.
I think he would try to rebuild the legions to the state of their former glory but he would probably have some additional precautions like I don't know stronger Hypno training or something. Since he was always a fan of big Imperial fleets he would make the Imperial Navy far stronger.
There wouldn’t be Black Templar’s or Crimson Fist if Roboute didn’t make the space book.

With respect, Guilliman's experience with running empires, and his strategic ability coupled with his ability to be better in touch with emotions and feelings clearly makes him the better choice over Dorn, who is too inflexible and unable to relate to common humans. Dorn would have caused a civil war because of his inflexibility and black/white world view.

Also there's no way GW guts the Imperial Faith, it's too iconic. At most we'll get back and forths between the Ecclesiarchy and the Primarchs but nothing actually done about it.

You hype the Fists up too much. The Imperium needs a statesman now, to reform and rule. It pains me to say it, but Guilliman is the best pick for now.
And it seems to me that he's an avenger, if it were him, he would have collapsed the Imperium at the same time that it would have been crushed, and this is not an example to follow for the Imperium in the same way. a Leman Russ or a Ferrus Magnus because he's a fighter but the fact of being a diplomat is too, I who painted the Ultramarines, Sanguinus directing it would have been better, but the fluff is so. better like that. Dorn and Guilliman, of all the primarchs, are the two who stand to help dig the imperium out of the hole it's in. G man can fix logistics and doctrine, which for such a massive empire is pretty important, and Dorn can rebuild. I feel that Guilliman and Dorn, if they got along better, would be possibly the greatest team of primarchs. With their skills combined, the imperium would stand to advance back into its former glory by a significant amount.
Edit: Dorn could build a lot more if he has supplies and tools and materials to build with. Who's best at getting that stuff to him?
Dorn is my favourite and when he kills another primarch Alpharion he proves he is a total bad ass, but as battle master i think Lion El Jhonson is the best fitted.

Dan, Bobby G started the 2nd Imperium at the first whiff the Emperor had been lost, if anyone is to be trusted with making sure the Imperium of Man lives on, it's him. Rogal Dorn couldn't even save the first one.
In Solar War Jagheti Khan had some very interesting things to say about Rogal which basically boiled down to hes too set in his own way and is unflexable and what will be asked of him during the Heresy would begin to break him. I love Rogal but he has a point Rogal does things by the book to his detriment including locking up his psychers when they are literally one of the best weapons against chaos. I think the only person that might skirt criticism out of all the primarchs is Sanguinius but I don't thing GW will revive him at least physically.
When Dorn sees the Black Templars he would say "Damn it, Sigismund, now there are 6 thousand of you.........Each of you off on a crusade NOW!"
As an Ultramarines (though I try to disassociate myself with the skub) player I am displeased by this video. Dorn fixes buildings! Guilliman fixes GOVERNMENTS. Last I checked the Imperium isn't having an architectural problem. And Guilliman, I would say, tried not to show bias towards Ultramar (the Indomitus Crusade) and probably would have left Calgar to deal with the DG if Mortarion didn't show up. Nonetheless I like the video bud and channel, keep up the good work!

and I'd love to see Dorn try and attempt to teach the black templars - one of most zealous emperor-bothers out there - about the imperial truth.
But on a more serious note , the imperium could need both of them, because they both have their strengh and weaknesses and could compliment each other. Dorn being the bullhead that he is, could use a bit of Papa Smurfs help in diplomacy. Maybe they could even play good cop/bad cop here and also spread the weight of responsibilities (and most of all - keep each other company, because holy crap does guilliman seem lonely)
Why am I imaging a Big Glorious Golden Fist coming up Bobby G's big blue toilet seat , making his personal throne in the Imperium a very uncomfortable place.

Dorn's one famous battle was with Mr perturbed, where he was humiliated and needed Gorillaman to save him. Otherwise he was the kid eating paste and playing with legos while everyone else was working. Even the successor chapters are more bad was not because of Dorn but taking on the personalities of they chapter masters.
