      Agreed, this will not happen.
The imperial truth is also known by the high lords, but they cannot get rid of it because diminishing human belief in the emperor will strengthen chaos. This is why anyone who speaks against the emperor is dealt with harshly, as humanity will self destruct if they stop thinking big E is a god. Power of the astronomicon will reduce, saints will go away, divine miracles will stop.

The imperial fists are the interesting one. Without Dorn, I do see them siding with Rowboat Girlyman. But if Dorn came back.... could be interesting. Hear me out....
Sides with RG: Dorn is a loyal soldier to the idea of the emperor’s goal of unifying mankind. He also never sought any office and was literally just a soldier by his own admittance. He sees RG as the new Emperor by the will of their father, and accepts it, for it is the emperor’s word.
Sides against RG: Dorn comes back to see the imperium in shambles. The brother who wouldn’t get off his ass to help save terra because he was too busy building his OWN empire; the brother who on his own decided to split the legions into chapters (which Dorn originally angrily resisted and only relented to prevent a second civil war).... NOW HAS MADE HIS OWN ARMY OF MARINES (which was not the emperor’s idea and was made in secret by RG) AND SITS ON THE FUCKING THRONE!?!? Plus... Dorn knew the Emperor was no God, AND NOW ONE OF HIS OWN SUCCESSOR CHAPTERS (the Black Templars) HAS FALLEN TO THE SAME RELIGIOUS ZEAL THAT THE MOST HATED OF TRAITORS (the Word Bearers) ONCE BELIEVED?!?!
This is why I wish it was Dorn who had come back and been the one to become the Emperor’s replacement. It makes for a real internal struggle for Dorn who never sought office and knew he was just a soldier, no more, to have to have the responsibility of now being FUCKING EMPEROR. He would struggle, make good and bad decisions, and it would just be more impactful storytelling. Dorn could actually be the one to bring in Cawl to help find and resurrect RG to actually lead because, in Dorn’s eyes, RG was an empire builder and would acclimate to the role better. I just don’t give a shit about RG and his blue balls(fine blue boys). I’m not even a fanboy of the Fists or Dorn like you are. It just would have been far more interesting.

A lot of people fail to realize that Dorn already knows/knew of the Black Templars before his disappearance. They were already what they are now for better or worse. And while he may not have agreed with it, he certainly tolerated it. On top of that the imperium would not have survived this last 10 thousand years without the faith to hold it together. Also whether or not they worship him as a god is a matter of debate. There is contradictory lore that days they do and says they don't. They crusade eternally to prove loyalty to him. Not to worship.

I think you miss a major point about the faith. It's not just that it's embedded in the Imperium. It's also become necessary. Not only to motivate the people in fighting against xenos and chaos (all while shielding the commoner from knowing anything about what chaos is in the first place), but also to strenghten the Emperor and the Astronomicon. Without these quardillions of souls worshiping him as a God, the Emperor would be much weaker and unable to fight against the horrors of the warp IN the warp.
I think that's what Roboute figures out in the end of the Plague war. The cult and the faith are a necessary evil, but he still has to work in order to makes its grip less pregnant for a veriety of reasons (innovation, new military doctrines, etc.).

The majority of the leadership of the Imperium knows about Chaos and no amount of purging will stop that now. Aside from chapters like The Black Templars, most Astartes don't revere the Emperor as a god, so I feel as if the majority of the Astartes would fall in line with Guilliman. The biggest split would be how much of the Imperial Guard would go under the command of him, as they are the bulk of the Imperium's forces.

Not really, as the horus heresy was millions of space marines vs millions of space marines. This would be a relatively small number of chapters, along with their serf forces going against the bulk of the Adeptus Astartes legions. Guilliman is cool with Cawl for the most part and the Mechanicum view the Emperor more as a prophet of the Omnissiah, so I'd also think that Mars and the majority of forgeworlds wouldn't turn against him either.
So Guilliman would have the full might of the Custodes, over 90% of the Astartes chapters, a good portion of the Mechanicum (if not basically the entirety), and even segments of the Inquisition, as it's almost certain that swathes of the Ordo Xenos would align with him due to the Deathwatch and the Ordo Malleus' Grey Knights would fall under his banner.
The wildcard is how many Imperial Commanders would turn their fleets against Guilliman, as well as how many of the Assassinorum factions, and the Adeptus Sororitas who are completely brainwashed by the Ecclesiarchy. Though with the later Saint Celestine is an ally of Roboute, so I'd imagine that would fracture the Sororitas.
So while this would be a sort of civil war, it would be far more in favor of Guilliman's forces.

And then there was The Grey Knights... who may be great against daemons - but are much less effective against Astartes like the SW. The Grey Knights specifically suffered serious casualties during the conflict, with several of the Chapter's ships lost, as well as a Brotherhood-strength contingent of Astartes. Grimnar and Twenty of his terminators massacred every Grey knight and Storm Trooper on the bridge of the Corel's Hope in seconds to cut down Lord Inquisitor Ghesmei Kysnaros... Only leaving Hyperion (the Blade Breaker of the daemon primarch Angron) alive.. If they too side with the Inquisition (which I hope they don't - they do actually have the Imperial Truth in their founding lore), then they are probably done for and the Imperion loses a great asset with which to fight Chaos.

After listening to the audio book, Luther: first of the Fallen, would actually Allie or ask to be allies with Guilliman also convince the Chaos Fallen to aid Guilliman as repentance and hopfully gain the Lion’s forgiveness or the Emperors

Could someone help me with something... Does anyone know all the books which include Roboute Guilliman, including and following his resurrection? Thank you!

I can see the Iron Hands, Mechanicus and most of the other first founding chapters siding with Guilliman. The ones to watch are the Raven Guard and Space Wolves, if they side with Guilliman, I can see most of the others following suit. There will be exceptions, most obviously the Ecclesiarchy, Adeptus Sororitas and probably parts of the Inquisition.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the previous regime of High Lords of Terra who were mostly replaced by new officials appointed by Roboute. These jaded people who were removed from power still hold a lot of authority and influence throughout the Imperium.
The Living Saints as their most likely directly controlled by The Emperor would follow Guilliman or they would completely abstain from the Civil War and remain on the outskirts still attacking the enemies of the Imperium like the Orcs And Chaos.

I would disagree on a few points, namely the High Lords, grey knights, and mechanicum
I think that despite his reforms, the High Lords would take any chance to stab him in the back and reclaim their power
The grey knights would stand with the Inquisition in order to best fight the threat of choas( possibly believing that their best chance is with them)
and I think that there would be a split over the mechanicum with the majority siding against him. This is due to the current power struggle between leaders of the mechanicum and Cawl who wants to become the new supreme leader( or whatever the title is) so that he can continue his push for innovation( which keep in mind is still seen as heresy by many within the mechanicum)

The Inquisition only have the power other organisations (Guard/Navy/Marines) gift them, by themselves they are relatively weak. If people don't co-coperate with them, they are stuffed.

To be quite honest, if any of Guilliman's loyal brothers were to return, they'd probably side with him. It's gonna be quite the mess if it comes to civil war.

The Lion will be brought back and tell Reboute where to stick it, and Space Wolves will stand against him as well. I’m wondering what Dante will make of it all though 🤔

I’ve heard somewhere that the dark Angels have a problem with the Primaris marines.
I know this is a weird twist and I kind of feel like a broken record saying this but here I go.
Because he doesn’t worship chaos in any form what so ever could Fabius Bile be a reluctant ally to Robot Girlyman ( yes as you can tell I’m a traitor, but a traitor that means well)

Mechanicus would be very much split in two. The only reason most of them even aid the Imperium is because the Emperor is to them the incarnation of the Omnissiah, and to dispel that illusion would create a huge rift in their ranks. It's even been seen before, one of the 40k novels covers a Titan vs Titan conflict on a Forge World, and during the conflict the knowledge of the seperation between Omnissiah and Emperor is spread and causes a civil war that's only put paid to when the forces of Chaos, who the Titan Legions (one loyal, one bound to the rebellious world in question) are fighting, force the two infighting Titan Legions to band together and put the schism behind them.

The inquisition have so many splinter factions within it's own office; so much so that I would argue that the inquisition would have it's OWN civil war.
THOUGH they're all childs play when everyone is quite terribly reminded that big papa smurf has not only BOTH the Grey Knights and Custodes (game winner right there) but most likely Mars as well.

On the subject of other Space Marine chapters that follow the Imperial Creed, there is the Sons of the Phoenix. That's an interesting one because they are one of the Ultima Founding [all] Primaris chapters, yet follow the tenants of the Imperial Creed fervently and ritualistically, so if it came to civil war, where would their loyalties lie?
